Celebrating “La Fête nationale de la France”

Blue Bells Model School held an assembly to celebrate “La Fête nationale de la France”. The event began with a presentation about France, covering its neighboring countries, cuisine, beverages, rivers, and mountains. This was followed by an engaging quiz. Given France's renowned culinary reputation, the middle school students prepared a French salad, which was truly delicious. The students also sang a melodious song that was a delightful blend of French and English. Additionally, an outstanding dance performance by the students was highly commendable.

Overall, the assembly was spectacular, keeping everyone engaged and active until the very end.

Innovation - The New Reality

Innovation is change that unlocks new value.

An Assembly on the theme ‘Innovation - The New Reality’ was conducted for the middle school students of Class 6 to 8on 26^th July 2024 .  Innovation team lead mentors - Ms Vidhi and Ms Neelam Suyal briefed the students about how new ideas, imaginations and possibilities can bring change in real life.

The session commenced with a motivational video on “Understanding Innovation” by P.V.M. Rao, Professor and Dean Coordinator, Design Innovation Centre, IIT Delhi. This video helped them understand the importance of small innovations in our daily life. They also understood that innovation can be done in already existing products also. The video emphasized on the entrepreneurial thinking to bring about new innovations.

This was followed by a presentation on Inspire Manak Awards nominations and the eligibility criterion for the Inspire Awards. Students were motivated by showing the success story of earlier recipients of the award and the prize they can win. They were guided about the way to participate in the event.

It was an insightful and informative session for all.

The school recently donated a substantial amount of ration and stationery items to the NGO Harmony House, Gurugram. This generous contribution aimed to support the underprivileged and provide essential resources to those in need. A group of students visited the center, where they engaged with the beneficiaries, sharing stories and spreading joy. Their interaction highlighted the importance of community support and empathy.

The primary objective of this event was to bring smiles and happiness through the act of giving. The students’ involvement not only provided much-needed supplies but also fostered a sense of compassion and social responsibility. This initiative exemplifies the school’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community and encouraging students to contribute to societal well-being.

Class Assembly: World Nature Conservation Day

"The earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed."

Beautiful words by Mahatma Gandhi emphasize that nature provides enough resources to meet everyone's basic needs, but issues arise when greed leads to overconsumption. This highlights the importance of moderation and responsible use of resources to ensure sustainability for future generations. With this thought on 29^th July,2024, the students of Class IV C conducted an inspiring assembly to celebrate World Nature Conservation Day, focusing on the importance of preserving our environment for a sustainable living. The assembly began with the regular features like school prayer, pledge, school song, thought for the day and news. This was followed by a heart touching song presentation on awakening to communicate the need for all of us and to take deliberate actions in valuing and preserving nature. Students then presented placards highlighting different ways of conserving natural resources like reducing waste, saving water, conserving energy, following 3R’s and adopting sustainable practices. Each student explained practical actions we all can take in our day-to- day life to save natural resources. The assembly concluded with the mindful words by the Primary Wing Leader, Madam Kiran Rawat & the class teacher urging students to incorporate these practices into their lives to positively impact the environment. The assembly was both educational and inspiring, motivating students to take proactive steps in protecting our planet.

Business Summit 2024-Comm-Kshtra and Udbhav

Knowledge knows no limits, and the education we acquire throughout our lives enables us to achieve our goals and prepare us for various circumstances, situations, and approaches. With a vision to foster innovative entrepreneurs and informed leaders who will passionately contribute to a prosperous society, the Commerce and Humanities Department of Blue Bells Model School hosted an Inter-School Commerce Summit 2024 - 'Comm-Kshetra and Udbhav’ on 27th July 2024. The event aimed to elevate the commercial expertise of individuals through a series of competitions that integrated the fields of commerce and humanities, fostering a vibrant environment.

The opening ceremony commenced with the diya lighting followed by Saraswati Vandana. Lakshay Gupta, the Commerce Wizard and Suhani Gosain the Humanities Wizard extended a hearty welcome to all the management members, eminent dignitaries and the participants by stating that the event would provide a platform to all the contestants to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets and enhance their problem-solving skills. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal of the school, accorded a formal welcome by motivating the students that they are the future leaders who would bring a significant change in the world.

The theme of the Summit centered on Growth and Sustainability. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, BBGS graced the occasion with her benign presence as the Chief Guest and declared the event open. The distinguished guests for the event were Mr Ankit Goenka, Senior Vice President and Head Customer Experience at Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company, Ms. Ritu Chopra, Head for Outreach and Partnership at StartupYou’s and Ms. Diva Sharma, Co-founder and CEO of Flair Health.

The event witnessed the participation of 1000 students from 59 renowned schools from across Gurugram. The young budding scholars competed with all their knowledge and might in an intellectually stimulating thirteen events. The plethora of competitions included Nitikar, Litigation Lane, Pitch Masters, Sustainability in Fashion, The Sustainability Dialogue, Echoes of Antiquity, Folkonomics, The Ultimate Res-Q, Eidos Symposium and Infinite Hues. The adjudicators of the events were industry leaders, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders who shared their valuable insights, best practices, and innovative ideas with the students.

The closing ceremony began with a captivating video presentation titled 'Snapshot,' showcasing memorable moments from each venue. It included highlights from the preparation areas, discussion zones, spot setups, and the competition grounds. A group fusion dance by the budding talents of the school enthralled the audience. The winners of the events were felicitated and honoured with the trophy and certificate by the distinguished guests, Principal of the school and the eminent judges. Overall winner was DPS 45 while the Runner-up trophy was bagged by Amity 46. The judges addressed the participants and highly lauded their efforts and innovative skills. They commended the school for organizing a mega event and underscored the fact that the Business Summit equipped the students to become future leaders, successful entrepreneurs, innovative policy makers, and creative humans. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Suhail, the Senior Wing Coordinator.

The Business Summit 2024 indeed provided an incredibly enriching learning experience for all the students by broadening not only their understanding of the business world but also inspired them to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions with renewed enthusiasm.

Cyber Awareness Assembly

An assembly on Cyber Awareness and Cyber Safety was hosted by the Cyber Council members of Grades 9 to 12 on 23rd July 2024. The assembly aimed to sensitize everyone on ‘Cyber Smartness & Safety,’ enlightening all students about the serious cybercrimes occurring within our society. The student Cyber Council was introduced, and its responsibilities and aims were addressed to the students.

An engaging talk show was organized to foster interaction among the students. Additionally, the students of the Cyber Ambassador Internship Programme were given a platform to share what they had learned during their internship.

Each of us felt a sense of pride and safety in the proactive initiative taken by our school. Indeed, the assembly was a commendable effort that emphasized the importance of being Cyber Smart in today’s generation.

Class Assembly: Kargil Vijay Diwas

"Freedom is a privilege attained through the blood of soldiers who laid down their lives for their country—their mother."

A moving assembly in commemoration of Kargil Diwas was presented by Grade IX A. The assembly began with a solemn prayer, creating a positive and reflective atmosphere. This was followed by a heart-touching Thought of the Day presented by Saksham Verma and Shubhi Bahuguna. Five students then delivered the news of the day, after which Titiksha Kukreja gave an inspiring speech on "Inspiration for the Youth to Join the Army." The final presentation was a Nukkad Natak, where the students showcased the struggles in the life of a soldier. This powerful performance depicted the sacrifices soldiers make for their country and its people. The assembly culminated with heart-warming stories from the Kargil War as experienced by our Principal, Madam Alka Singh.

Remember the brave soldiers of the Kargil War who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Their courage and dedication should inspire us to love and serve our country with all our hearts.

Guru Purnima (Assembly by Class IV B)

With heartfelt gratitude, the students of Grade IV B conducted their class assembly on Guru Purnima to commemorate the significance of gurus in our lives. The assembly began with a beautiful doha, followed by the regular features of the assembly. Students expressed their appreciation through a heartwarming poem and handmade cards, highlighting the importance of gurus in guiding and shaping young minds. They also presented a short skit to celebrate the rich heritage associated with Guru Purnima. The assembly was addressed by the School Principal, Ms. Alka Singh and Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Kiran Rawat, who shared their insights on the importance of teachers. The celebration served as a reminder of the value of lifelong learning and the profound impact that teachers have on their students’ journey of knowledge and self-discovery.

Redefining Commerce Education: Teachers' Training Session

The new National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023 has broadened traditional commerce subjects like Business Studies and Accountancy into Interdisciplinary Areas (IDA). Dr Shunil Tripathi, a renowned Commerce Stream Trainer conducted a teachers' training session for the Commerce Department where the teachers together explored innovative, practical teaching methods for these subjects.

The discussion included integration of these subjects into vocational studies from Class VI onwards to foster entrepreneurship and financial literacy. This early exposure can help students discover their interests and potentially choose these subjects as career options in Classes XI and XII. The interactive session was enriched by the curiosity and enthusiasm of the participants.

Save Water (Assembly by Class V D)

“Water is a Treasure, Save it with Pleasure!”

Water is a precious and finite resource essential for life, yet it is often taken for granted. With increasing population, industrial growth, and climate change, water scarcity is becoming a significant global challenge. On 15th of July 2024, the students of Class V D gathered for an enlightening assembly on the critical topic of saving water. The assembly aimed to educate young minds about the importance of water conservation and encourage them to adopt water-saving habits. The assembly began with the regular features-prayer, pledge and school song followed by the thought for the day and news. Through discussion on the significance of water in our daily lives, the students learned that water is essential for drinking, cleaning, growing food, and supporting all living things. The highlight of the assembly was a captivating Musical Skit performed by the talented students. The presentation highlighted that water is a precious resource that sustains life. Without water, we wouldn’t be able to live, and neither would plants or animals. It emphasized that water is crucial for keeping us healthy, growing crops, and maintaining natural habitats. The assembly concluded with an address by our Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Kiran Rawat. The assembly was a great success, and the students left with a deeper understanding of why it is crucial to save water and how they can contribute to this important cause.
