Mothers are the architects of love and the custodians of care and their contributions are woven into the very fabric of society. In the tapestry of human existence, the contribution of mothers is not just significant but it is indispensable, for they are the heartbeat of humanity's enduring love and strength. To salute the noble souls, Blue Bells Model School celebrated Mothers’ Day with boundless enthusiasm on 18th May 2024. The celebration was graced by BK Sister Parul, a Rajyoga meditation practitioner as the distinguished guest. She was accompanied by Sister Manhami and Sister Jimli.

The auspicious occasion commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp with the chanting of shloka recital. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal welcomed the parents stating that mothers are the educators teaching life's lessons through gentle guidance and unwavering support. The mood of the day was perfectly set with a melodious rendition of the group song ‘Dhup samay ki laakh sataye.'The group dance 'I love you Ma…’ enthralled the audience. A workshop was conducted for the mothers on ‘Mindful Parenting’. The resource person, Sister Parul addressed the mothers by underlining the fact that mindful parenting is a practice rooted in awareness and presence where parents engage with their children with deep intentions and compassion. It involves being fully present in the moment, acknowledging and accepting both the joys and challenges of parenting without judgment. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS appreciated the presence of the mothers and underscored the reality that mother's sacrifices sometimes go unnoticed, yet their impact resonates across generations, shaping families, communities, and the world at large.

Benefits of Healthy Lifestyle (Assembly by Class V E)

“The greatest wealth is health.” –Virgil.

On the 16th of May 2024, the students of Class V E delivered a compelling school assembly on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. The assembly commenced with a heartfelt prayer, seeking blessings for good health and well-being. This was followed by the rendition of the pledge, showing diligence towards our country. The school song was sung with great fervor, symbolizing the unity of the school community in promoting healthy living.

The thought of the day centered around the proverb "You are what you eat," highlighting the profound impact of diet on overall health. Through the news segment, students were informed about recent developments in nutrition and health, encouraging them to stay aware about healthy eating habits. A nukkad natak (street play) was performed, illustrating the consequences of cosuming unhealthy diet and the benefits of choosing nutritious foods. Following the play, students shared practical tips on maintaining a healthy diet, encouraging their peers to make positive changes in their eating habits. The assembly concluded with an address by Ms. Kiran Rawat, Primary Wing Leader.

Overall, the assembly was a resounding success in raising awareness about the importance of a healthy diet and empowering students to make informed food choices.

Workshop On Causes and Effects of New Age Lifestyle

Blue Bells Model School hosted the workshop on “Causes and Effects of New Age Lifestyle" for Grades XI & XII students on 9^th May 2024 . The workshop was conducted by Dr. Divya Tripathi, Assistant Professor at MRI Institute of Research and Studies. Dr. Tripathi, with her extensive expertise in nutrition, dietetics, and lifestyle management, delivered an engaging and insightful session that shed light on the various factors influencing modern lifestyles and their impacts on physical, mental, and social well-being.

Through interactive discussions and practical examples, students gained valuable insights into making healthier choices and adopting lifestyle habits conducive to their overall well-being. They explored new opportunities and career-oriented options related to lifestyle management, paving the way for informed decision-making and personal growth.

Empowering Students: Cyber Threats and Security Awareness Assembly

The Cyber Council members held an assembly for Grades VI-VIII on 8^th May 2024 to discuss the escalating concern of cyber threats and the critical need for cybersecurity awareness. Given the growing reliance on digital platforms for education and communication, it's imperative that students grasp potential online risks and learn how to safeguard themselves.

The assembly commenced with a Prayer and the School Song, followed by a reflection on cyber threats by Lavishi Mittal from VI E and a detailed presentation by Vrinda Jain from VIII A. The presentation shed light on various cyber threats individuals might face, such as phishing scams, malware, identity theft, and cyberbullying. It also covered the concept of Cyber Security and offered insights into enhancing internet security.

During the event, all the "cyber warriors" were introduced, and Aditya Chauhan from Class VIII A elaborated on their significance along with the role of the cyber council team. An interactive quiz session, led by Talish Bajaj from VII C, engaged students actively with questions related to recent cybercrimes, prevention techniques, and essential cyber safety facts.

The assembly concluded with motivating words from Ms Anshu Malika Kumar, Middle Wing In-charge regarding digital footprints, followed by the national anthem. This assembly served as a valuable initiative in arming students with vital knowledge and skills necessary to navigate safely in the digital era.

Cyber Security Assembly (PRIMARY WING)

The Cyber Council Members of Grade IV-V organised an assembly for grade III-V on 13^th May 2023 focussing on Cyber safety, which is a multifaceted endeavour that requires vigilance, awareness, and proactive measures to protect ourselves and our digital assets from harm. By understanding the nature of cyber threats, practicing good cyber hygiene, protecting our personal information, promoting digital literacy, and fostering a culture of cybersecurity, we can navigate the digital wilderness with confidence and ensure a safer and more secure online experience for all.

The assembly anchored by Avantika(5A) and Purusharth (5A), commenced with a Thought by Vivaan Kamboj(5C) and a poem by Kavya(5B), Divyanshi(5B) and Parth (5C) later followed by a beautiful skit by Hridhaan (5B), Divit (5B), Irtiqa (5B), Nomit (4A), Bhavya (4A), Daksh (4D), Divyanshi (5B), Sattvik (5B) and Arush (5E) reflecting the different cyber threats the digital users are facing.

The assembly concluded with a quiz conducted by Hridhaan (5B) and Pratishtha (5E) to test the awareness and knowledge they acquired from the assembly and with few motivating words by the Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Kiran Rawat.

The assembly served to deliver the message that it's crucial to prioritize cyber safety to protect personal and sensitive information from being compromised. Additionally, raising awareness about cyber threats and educating individuals from a young age about the importance of cyber safety can help foster a more secure digital environment for everyone. Ultimately, ensuring cyber safety is not only an individual responsibility but also a collective effort involving governments, businesses, and technology providers working together to mitigate risks and safeguard the integrity of the digital world.

Inter House Poetry Recitation Competition (PRIMARY WING)

“Poetry is simply the most beautiful, impressive, and widely effective mode of saying things.”

As we commemorate the 163^rd birth anniversary of the well-known polymath of India, Rabindranath Tagore, Blue Bells Model school celebrated it with zeal and enjoyment. An Inter House Poetry Recitation Competition was held for students of classes III to V on 9^th May 2024. Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words. To honour the great laureate two students from each House were asked to recite poems written by Rabindranath Tagore with proper pronunciation and intonation. The students enthusiastically participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. In Hindi category Tagore House was declared as the winner followed by Indira Gandhi house as first runner up and Mother Teresa as second runner up. Nehru house bagged the position of special mention. In English category Mother Teresa House was declared as the winner followed by Nehru House as first runner up and Tagore as second runner up. Indira Gandhi House bagged the position of special mention.

Students were judged on the parameters like confidence, voice modulation, pronunciation, and fluency. It was a splendid opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure earning the appreciation of Primary Wing In charge Madam Kiran Rawat

Class Assembly, VI A

Commemorating Labour Day: A Celebration of Dedication and Unity Class Assembly, VI A The Special Assembly conducted by class VIB at Blue Bells Model School commemorated Labour Day with enthusiasm and respect for the workforce worldwide. The event, anchored by Harnidh Kaur and Shaurya Pratap, emphasized the importance of Labour Day in fostering social awareness, empathy, and a sense of civic responsibility among students. The assembly included segments such as a prayer invoking positive vibrations, updates on national and international news, sports news highlighting the role of sports in holistic development, recognition of students' achievements, a thought of the day encouraging positive thinking, and a quiz reinforcing learning on Labour Day.

The assembly also featured a speech on the significance of Labour Day, highlighting the contributions of the workforce. It concluded with expressions of gratitude towards the school's supportive staff and a call for unity and determination, ending with the National Anthem to signify respect and patriotism.

Under the capable guidance of Middle Wing in-charge, Ms Anshu Malika Kumar, students of class 6B distributed beautifully crafted cards to the housekeeping and supporting staff of the school. Ma'am emphasized the importance of instilling gratitude in children's hearts towards those who serve them.

Overall, the assembly served as a platform to educate, inspire, and promote values of hard work, dedication, and gratitude among the students.

CYBER COUNCIL SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON LABOUR DAY

A special assembly was held in Blue Bells Model School for the support staff as part of the Cyber Council on the occasion of  Labour Day to address the growing concern of cyber threats. The increased use of technology has brought about numerous benefits but has also raised significant cybersecurity risks. Under the guidance of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, a workshop on Cyber Awareness was conducted to equip support staff with essential knowledge on safeguarding themselves.

During the workshop, participants were educated about various cyber threats prevalent in today's digital landscape. They were briefed on cybersecurity best practices such as creating strong passwords, being cautious about OTPs, not providing personal information to unknown numbers etc. The interactive session included a Question & Answer segment where attendees could seek clarifications and deepen their understanding of cybersecurity measures.

The workshop received positive feedback from support staff, who found the shared information to be both informative and practical. They gained insights into the importance of cybersecurity and acknowledged the need for proactive measures to ensure safety and security.

TRANSITION SESSION 2024

TRANSITION SESSION FOR CLASS VI

“Any transition is easier if you believe in yourself and your talent.” Priyanka Chopra

The transition from Primary to Middle School is a pivotal milestone in every student’s academic journey, signaling a notable change in their educational environment and expectations. To address the needs of the young adolescents and offer them relevant guidance and information, the school's Health & Wellness Programme organized a 'Transition Session’ for the students of Grade VI on April 26, 2024.The session is an indigenous initiative under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. 

A preliminary activity in Grade VI was organised to explore students' emotions, perspectives, and anticipations, by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team. Students were grouped and tasked with creating a collage on reflecting their thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and expectations about transitioning to the Middle Wing.

A specially designed experiential learning session was conducted by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team, under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena to help students express their thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and expectations. The students were briefed about the program in the Middle Wing.  During an engaging session, team members addressed the students' feelings and concerns regarding their transition to a new wing, offering insights on how they can adapt positively to this change, which is essential for personal growth. They discussed the art of conversation as a tool to make new friends and shared strategies for breaking difficult tasks into manageable parts for effective learning. The importance of taking small steps and managing time was emphasized to organize studies and cope with changes successfully.

Additionally, Peer Educators from Class VII, Achintya, Kavita, Ayesha and Vihaan shared their experiences, highlighting how they managed their concerns with the support of Life Skills and honed their skills during the process of successfully navigating the transitional phase.

Ms. Kiran Rawat,  Primary Wing Leader, praised the students for their achievements in class V and encouraged them to uphold this success in their next class. Ms. Anshu Malika,  Middle Wing Leader, warmly greeted the students and assured them of creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal, extended her best wishes and blessings to the students. The school team reassured the students that they would receive support not only from their new teachers but also from their previous ones. This initiative by the Health & Wellness team is a proactive step to help students understand and adjust to changes more smoothly.

SOLAR MAN SESSION

Empowering Educational Futures: A Green Path to Progress

Blue Bells Model School witnessed a collaborative effort towards educational excellence and sustainable practices on 30^th April 2024 which featured an insightful session conducted by the Solar Man of India, Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, IIT Bombay, Founder of Energy Swaraj Foundation and Chairman of the committee of CBSE and AICTE for Solar Curriculum development. The session with Prof. Solanki added a practical dimension to discussions on renewable energy and sustainable development.

Beginning with warm greetings and a green-themed welcome, the gathering emphasized the interconnectedness of education, innovation, and environmental consciousness. The lighting of diyas symbolized a commitment not just to academic progress but also to nurturing a holistic approach to learning. Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools felicitated Prof Solanki with a shawl and his beautiful portrait. Ms Alka Singh, Principal, Blue Bells Model School expressed that the school is dedicated to nurturing aware, responsible and empowered learners.  The presence of Prof. Solanki, a distinguished advocate for solar energy, further reinforced the message of adopting eco-friendly practices in education and beyond. In his session, he stressed on “Energy Literacy Training” and “Wah! Wrinkles achhe hain: Embrace Sustainability and Wear Non-Ironed Clothes Every Monday”. The event left participants inspired and motivated to continue contributing towards a greener, more sustainable future through collaborative efforts and innovative initiatives.
