National Cadet Corps

The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. So it is vital that they grow up to be exemplary human beings keen to contribute to nation-building. The NCC goes a long way in instilling this quality in students. It provides the youth an opportunity to serve the nation as the second line of defence during war and to be a dependable developmental force during peace. Through institutional training, adventure sports and outdoor activities, NCC cadets develop qualities of leadership and discipline, courage and confidence.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian Military Cadet Corps which work towards inculcating a sense of discipline and patriotism in the students. NCC was initiated in Blue Bells Model School in the year 1995-96. The school is having JD & JW. JD is Junior Division for boys and JW is Junior Wing for girls. Its two year training course for the students of classes VIII & IX. The students are enrolled through a rigorous test which comprises of written & physical aptitude.

The Cadets are trained in basic military training in small arms, drill, Annual Training Camp and other outdoor activities. These activities not only work as a stress buster but also help the students expand their mental horizons and inculcate team spirit in them.

The Cadets are given training in drill, elementary map reading, elementary field craft, first aid, and citizenship. The cadets are required to attend a ten day long Annual Training Camp once in two years. Our cadets participate in various events like: Republic Day, Independence Day, Kargil Diwas. They also undertake social initiatives like cleanliness of the surroundings, blood donation camp, Anti Cracker Campaign, to educate people.

Our Cadet Krisha Gupta (X) has been adjudged as the “Best Cadet” of the year 2020-21 under JW category, she was awarded with a certificate of honour and a cheque of Rs. 5000. Our cadets also witnessed The Prime minister‘s Rally 2021.

Although most of the activities in NCC are outdoor ones but due to the ongoing COVID- 19 pandemic, all these activities are conducted on virtual platforms till the situation normalizes. NCC has introduced A Digital forum for all the Cadets .The Cadets have registered themselves and are uploading all the activities such as: Posters, articles, stories and videos on this portal.

To survive in peace and harmony, united and strong, we must have one people, one nation, one flag.
