Understanding Puberty: A New Chapter in Life

‘The sky is full of stars and there is room for each one of them to shine’ The Health & Wellness Programme under ADEPT - A Program for Enhancing Life Skills, Powered by wellnesswise.in conducts session on Understanding Puberty every year with girls of grade 4 & 5 in BBMS. Life Skills Facilitators, Ms Sapna Sinha, and Ms Prerna Karkhanis conducted the session under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, (Health & Wellness) BBGS for grade 4 &5 girls during October to November 2024.

The girls were apprised that Puberty is a natural process that prepares them for adulthood. During this period, the body starts producing hormones that trigger physical and emotional changes which can be both challenging and thrilling. Having conversation with elders, family members and teachers will help them ease out their concerns and queries during the onset of puberty. Through an informative video the girls were given firsthand information on how they can identify the changes happening in their body and accept them with grace. Each child was provided  an open and safe space to discuss their experiences. The  girls were made aware about the importance of  having a balanced diet and maintaining personal hygiene so that it will  help them sail smooth through this period of adolescence. The session concluded with an open discussion and also talking about certain dos and don’ts which become imperative and need to be followed.

Childrens Day Celebrations: A Joyful Tribute to Childhood

Blue Bells Model School celebrated Childrens Day with vibrant enthusiasm on November 14, 2024. The Primary Wing enjoyed a bagless day filled with storytelling, art competitions, and a delightful movie screening. Teachers captivated students with a heartwarming assembly featuring an inspiring speech, a Hindi poem, and a lively song medley. Words of encouragement resonated, celebrating the boundless potential of childhood, leaving students with cherished memories of the day. 

Students Pledge to be Responsible Digital Citizens

The Cyber Council Team is orchestrating a series of initiatives aimed at cultivating cyber intelligence among our students, educators, and support staff under the astute guidance of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director of IT.  

The students of Classes VI to VIII participated in the Cyber Safety Pledge initiative on 6^th November 2024. The pledge emphasized the importance of safe and respectful online behaviour. Led by teachers and Cyber Council members, the initiative reinforced the school’s commitment to fostering responsible digital practices. This pledge serves as a reminder to students of the values of integrity, respect, and responsibility in the digital world.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY SESSION

English Language Proficiency Session

Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, held an insightful session on English Language Proficiency on 12^th November 2024 attended by students of grades XI and XII. Esteemed speakers from Pearson , Mr. Joseph Augustine, Ms. Komal Farwaha, and Mr. Eric shared their expertise, emphasizing the global significance of English and the Pearson Test of English (PTE) as a vital proficiency test for students aspiring to study abroad. The session highlighted how English proficiency opens doors to global opportunities, fosters critical thinking, and enhances career prospects.

Blue Bells Model School proudly organized the fifth edition of La Fête de la Langue – A Festival of Languages, with this year's theme, "Reconceive, Redefine, Recreate for an Ingenious World." The festival, held on 09^th November 2024, under the aegis of the GPSC, celebrated the diversity and cultural depth that languages bring to our lives. Languages connect us to our heritage and allow us to transcend barriers, fostering unity and empathy across communities.

  The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools, ma’am addressed the gathering and reflected on the importance of language, a medium of communication. Accompanying her were our esteemed jury members, Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Ms. Vandana Sannon, Ms. Seema Sayal, Ms. Asha Chauhan, Mr. Ashwani Sharma, Ms. Roseleen Bahl, Ms. Durgesh, . Mr Mayank Gulliar, Mr. Saptrishi, Dr. Vandana Dubey, Ms. Deepti, Ms. Anisha Sahu, Ms. Sapna Garg, Ms. Mariette Oportus to set the tone for the event, emphasizing language as a powerful medium for expression and cultural exchange. These eminent members shared their expertise and insights with the gathering.

The festival opened with a traditional diya-lighting ceremony honouring Late Shri B.D. Gulatiji, Founder Chairman of BBGS, followed by a multi-religion prayer. Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director of Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools, inaugurated the festival, celebrating the value that languages add to our lives.

The event attracted around 150 participants from 20 schools, competing in 11 diverse events that highlighted language skills and creative expression. Students from various grades showcased their talents in live events, including Shravan aur Chitrankan, Grammathon, Kavya Abhinaya, Rap a Beat, and Contra Opinion. The vibrant presentations and discussions sparked by the participants impressed the jury and captivated the audience.

In addition to live events, pre-submission categories featured competitions like ¡Vamos a España! (Spanish), Les fêtes françaises (French), and Creative Photography for grades VI-VIII. These entries demonstrated the students' exceptional language command, creativity, and appreciation for global cultures.

The event also saw the power of language through the inhouse event “Words That Matter” which was initiated by the students. The students wrote English and Hindi poems, stories and novellas and were awarded by Director Ma’am. The festival concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony that highlighted a dance performance inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals, symbolizing hope for a sustainable and empathetic future. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools, encouraged students to use language as a bridge to understand and compassion.

The prestigious Overall Winner’s Trophy was awarded to Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School, Sector 10, Gurugram. The festival succeeded in its mission, leaving participants inspired to continue exploring the beauty and importance of language in our interconnected world.

PEER EDUCATOR ACTION PROJECT

COMMITMENT TO CREATING AN ANTI-BULLYING ENVIRONMENT: PEER EDUCATOR ACTION PROJECT

Bullying thrives when left unaddressed. By voicing concerns, taking a stand, and supporting one another, we can shape a world where compassion and respect overshadow cruelty and fear. Awareness is the cornerstone of any successful program and allows us to understand things from multiple perspectives. Under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, the Peer Educators of BBGS launched their Anti-Bullying Action Project. The initiative’s first presentation took place on October 24, 2024 at BDBBPS, Sector 10, Gurugram.

The team was strategically divided into six groups, each consisting of three mentors and seven peer educators, allowing active involvement and student participation in fostering a more inclusive and respectful environment. Each group was assigned topics related to various dimensions of bullying and its impact on all parties involved. Through thorough research, collaborative presentations, and teamwork, the students made meaningful contributions to the ongoing efforts against bullying, promoting a culture of kindness and respect.

Addressing the occasion, Dr. Alka congratulated the team and encouraged the team to carry forward these lessons and embody kindness, empathy, and courage in all aspects of life. Ma’am emphasized that through collective effort, a safer and more supportive environment can be achieved for everyone.

The programme concluded with a thoughtful activity wherein each team created posters and made a conscious effort to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali and take a step towards a brighter, cleaner future.

Diwali Celebration

“Diwali in school is a time to sparkle, shine, and make a difference, creating a radiant and joyful learning environment.”

Blue Bells Model School's Primary Wing was abuzz with excitement as students and teachers alike came together to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali. The classrooms were transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours and creativity, showcasing the students' artistic skills and teamwork.

Grade-III students demonstrated their crafting prowess by creating stunning Diwali hangings, while Grade-IV students showcased their creativity by making beautiful diyas using paper. Grade-V students, meanwhile, exhibited their expertise in crafting intricate torans and bandhanwars. But that's not all - the students also dressed up in their traditional attire, adding a vibrant splash of colour and culture to the celebrations. The girls wore beautiful salwar kameez, and lehengas, while the boys wore handsome kurtas and pyjamas. The air was filled with the sweet scent of diyas and the sound of laughter and excitement.

The classrooms were judged on various criteria, including cleanliness, class layout, minimal wastage of resources, and overall visual appeal. After careful consideration, Grade V E emerged as the winner from among the Grade-V sections, impressing the judges with their exceptional toran/bandhanwar making and classroom decoration skills. Grade IV A and Grade III E also took home the first prize, wowing the judges with their creative classroom decoration.

This competition not only encouraged teamwork, creativity, and a sense of responsibility among the students but also provided a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their talents and celebrate their cultural heritage. As the students worked together to decorate their classrooms, they learned valuable lessons about collaboration, innovation, and environmental consciousness.

In the end, the Diwali celebration in the Primary Wing was a resounding success, filling the hearts of everyone involved with joy, pride, and a sense of accomplishment.

National Postal Day

"A simple letter can bridge distances—let's honor the postal system today!"

To commemorate 'National Postal Day', the students of the Primary Wing organized a celebration under the theme of "150 years of enabling communication and empowering people across nation". This year's theme highlights the significant role played by the Indian postal department over 150 years. Students seized the opportunity to shower their grandparents with love and appreciation, penning thoughtful messages that highlighted the special connection they share and the profound impact of their grandparents in their lives. These heartfelt messages expressed the students' deep gratitude for their grandparents' love, support, and guidance, serving as a meaningful way to connect with their loved ones.

An engaging poster-making activity was organized for Grade V students who unleashed their creativity while learning essential lessons on online safety. They crafted brilliant posters featuring tips on safeguarding personal information, creating strong passwords, and staying vigilant online. This fun exercise not only enhanced their artistic skills but also emphasized the importance of being responsible digital citizens.
