ADVENT-O-FIESTA A FESTIVAL OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education. Keeping these inspirational words of Martin Luther in mind the Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School decided to organize a day long camp ‘FESTIVAL OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE – ADVENT-O-FIESTA’ in their premises. The fun-filled activities helped the students to explore their intelligence to a great extent. There were adventurous activities like Flying Fox, Army Obstacles and Wall Climbing.  The students required a lot of precision and courage to undergo. Then there were activities like 3 Doodler and Shadow Play that brought out the artistic and analytical blend of the students. The students also participated in activities such as Leadership through Music and Dance & Aerobics which helped them utilize their musical flair to excel in the activity. Last but not the least was Unlock Hour from Nat Geo that made the students understand the animal world and have a closer look at their life through the session. Assistant Director – Academics, Development and Innovation-Blue Bells Group of School Ms. Saumya Gulati, the Principal Mrs. C Dhawan and the Primary Wing Incharge Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra encouraged and appreciated the students during the camp.

BRAIN-O-VITA MATHS WEEK

In order to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shri Ramanujan, Blue Bells Model School organised ‘BRAIN-O-VITA’ – Maths Week from December 15 to December 22, 2014. The students rolled up their sleeves to enjoy a series of activities and understand the importance of Maths in their everyday lives. Each activity incorporated a specific Maths challenge, complementary to reinforcing the correct usage of Maths. The main objective behind organizing Maths Week was to make Maths more interesting for students and to reduce the fear of learning the subject.
Day 1: December 15 (Monday)
INAUGURATION & POP ART FIESTA
The Principal-Ms. Dhawan, the Senior Wing Incharge –Ms. S. Aruna, the Middle Wing Incharges-Ms. Anshu Kumar Malika & Ms. Sushma Malhotra declared the week open by lighting a diya followed by rendition of shlokas. They appreciated the activities that were a part of POP ART FIESTA. The students made amazing designs using tangrams, 3D shapes using OHP and Pastel sheets. Watching the little fingers work upon the art was a real delight to witness.
Day 2: December 16 (Tuesday)
A lecture by Mr. Narendra Sharma, Essay Writing & MATH MAZE
There was a lecture delivered by Mr. Narendra Sharma-Senior Maths Teacher, who apprised the students about the subject Mathematics being a branch of art or science. The students wrote impressive essays in Essay Writing Activity, the topic was Mathematics – a necessity in our daily life. This was then followed by MATH MAZE which allowed the students to engage in Maths in a different way by providing them opportunity to solve Sudoku, Addition Math Maze and play card games.
Day 3: December 17 (Wednesday)
NUMERO UNO – Maths Quiz
An Inter House Maths Quiz NUMERO UNO was conducted. The participants along with the audience were enthusiastic about the Quiz. There was an air of excitement that filled the hall during the conduction of Quiz. The first position was bagged by Indira Gandhi House and the second position was grabbed by Nehru House.
Day 4: December 18 (Thursday)
MATHELETICS
MATHELETICS-the outdoor activities combined games and Maths, to show students the fun and relevance of Maths. The students enjoyed great success at Maths-related games in a supportive atmosphere.

Day 5: December 19 (Friday)
VIRTUAL SHOPPING
The activity for the fifth day was Virtual Shopping where the students created shops within their classes, created a cash counter and did a lot of purchasing through fake currency and billing. This helped them analyse the correct usage of money rather than over-spending, preparing budget for shopping and finally getting the bills prepared. There was a discussion on innovation by teachers and students.
Day 6: December 22 (Monday)
PRIZE DISTRIBUTION
Students made posters on – Mathematics opens a door; Mathematics makes a difference and Mathematics in Nature. Films produced by Vigyan Sagar were a source of great inspiration and motivation for the students. The week came to its culmination on December 22 with a Prize distribution Ceremony. The winners of various activities conducted during the week were awarded prizes by the Principal-Ms. Dhawan. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Mamta Srivastava.

Cyber Maze

Computers are magnificent tool for the realization of our dreams
Good educational institution creates rich learning environment where students are introduced to new ideas, develop new skills and expand their perspectives. The informed use of technology can engage students in new experience and create a community of learners across geographical boundaries. To achieve this objective for the present young generation, Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon, under the able guidance and patronage of Asst. Director IT, Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Blue Bells Group of Schools organized a cyber week ‘Cyber Maze’ on the theme ‘Connect, Communicate, Collaborate’ from 1st to 5th December, 2014 for classes III to X. Ms.Anshuka Aneja inaugurated the august occasion by lighting the ceremonial lamp which was followed by a welcome dance and a skit ‘ Influence of Technology’. A gamut of activities and competitions were designed for the students to learn, explore and discover the magic of technology. The students of Primary Wing participated in Edu Sports ‘Tic Tac Toe’, where students played Konnect Three, Place Me Rightly and Bingo to learn about various parts and different icons related to computer. They also took part in Doodle designing for Google, Movie making and Blog writing on the topic “Should Internet replace books’. Students of Middle Wing participated in Quiz ‘Knowledge Quest’, e- Poster Designing on ‘Swachch Abhiyan’, Card Designing on ‘Winter Carnival’ and ‘Treasure Hunt’ where they had to locate pictures of parts of computer, desktop and components of PPT and Flash. Senior students created Challenging App to help the society like ‘Bus Tracker’, performed a skit on ‘Revolution IT brought in my life’ and participated in symposium on ‘Evolving Technology’ and ‘E-commerce’. Robotics Club students showed their acumen in sorting out challenges using their self-made robots. Teachers had an opportunity to sharpen their IT skill by preparing a PPT on ‘Technology –a challenge or a facilitator’. A Cyber Fair was also a great centre of attraction where students put up stalls like Gaming Corner, Design Your House, Robotics Corner, Photo Sketchup, Locate Your House, Animation Corner and Correct Pick. Parents were invited to judge numerous competitions. The closing ceremony witnessed a mesmerizing dance on the theme ‘Cyber Safety’. Yatin Sharma of class XI conducted a workshop on ‘Robotics’ where the young aspirant showed a presentation on manual and autonomous robot and demonstrated how to build a robot easily at home. The workshop was indeed informative. The school also organized a workshop on ‘Safe Surfing’ which was conducted by Mr. Rakshit Tandon, Director at A and R Information Security Pvt. Ltd. and Advisor to Cyber Crime Unit of Uttar Pradesh. Through demonstrations and illustrations he made students aware of cyber crime. The school Cyber Congress had an interactive session with Mr. Tandon. The session was also attended by the members of Cyber Congress of Blue Bells Public School and D.A.V. Winners of various competitions throughout the week were felicitated by Mr. Tandon and Ms. Anshuka Taneja who appreciated students’ industrious and sincere efforts. Ms. Chandan Dhawan congratulated and lauded the teachers and students’ diligent efforts in the successful completion of the mega event. 
 

Founder's Day Celebration

Noble deeds are cherished and highly esteemed.
A dream becomes reality through determination, will power, self-discipline and sheer hard work. Sri B.D. Gulati, Founder Chairman of Blue Bells Model School is a dreamer,a visionary who with whole hearted dedication and efforts laid the foundation of the school long back and  has shaped the lives of many young individuals. Blue Bells Model School commemorated its 34th Founder’s Day on November 10, 2014. A special assembly session was organized  to celebrate the august occasion through a spectrum of activities. Ms. Suman Gulati,Director Blue Bells Group of School graced the occasion by her benign presence. The day commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest followed by a shloka recital. A Panel discussion was conducted by Ms. Payal Uppal and the school Literary Secretary Divyansh Chauhan with the alumni of the school on the topic ‘Education: Now and Then’. The interaction highlighted the fact that there is a positive change in today’s teaching- learning methodology and the transformation has definitely brought students and teachers very close to each other where students share their thoughts with their teachers without any fear and inhibition. A movie on school history was presented by Anshita Raghav of VII E under the able guidance of Middle Wing In charge Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar taking everybody down the memory lane. The Director of the school addressed the gathering and outlined the significance of respect and deep emotional bond between the teachers and students. A hawan was arranged to mark the event and to seek the blessings of Almighty. A rally was also organized in and around sector 4 to create  an awareness on cleanliness and  spread the message of education. A street play on ‘Cleanliness’ was also enacted to enable people to understand its importance and relevance in everyone’s life. The celebration had indeed added one more chapter in the glorious history of Blue Bells Model School.

CAREER CONFLUENCE

A two-day Career Confluence was organized in Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4 on 9th and 10th of October under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director-Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of schools.
Day 1: 9th October, 14    : Day 1 of the confluence consisted of enlightening sessions for the students of classes 9th to 12th. The programme started with the lighting of ceremonial diya and welcome address of the Principal, Mrs. Chandan Dhawan. The speakers wee welcomed with the presentation of Eco friendly bouquets. Dr. Alka Saxena addressed the congregation emphasizing on the need of the guidance and support of the parents in choosing the right career
Mr. Jitin Chawla, Director of the Center for Career Development, who is an eminent educationist & career counselor, delivered a lively session on stream selection for the students of classes 9th & 10th. Mr. Chawla has been doing a number of shows on NDTV, DD, CNN etc.  . He also writes for various newspapers and magazines. Mr. Chawla acquainted the students of classes 11th & 12th with emerging Science careers and misconceptions regarding careers. He also updated the students about the plethora of courses and institutions available. He suggested that students should also explore the unconventional careers. He also apprised the students of the recent changes in Delhi University.
 Other eminent speakers of the day were Mr. Sanjay Saxena, Mr. Deepankar, Mr. Karan Verma and Ms. Ritu. The students were guided on career options in Hospitality, Management and creative careers.
Day 2 :10th October 2014:  Day 2 of the confluence was meant for the orientation of the parents of students from classes 9th to 12th by eminent psychologist and counselor, Dr. Asha Nayyar. She presented a mesmerizing session on stream selection, effective career planning and career options. After the sessions Dr. Nayyar satisfied the career related queries of the parents.
The credit of the grand success of the Career Confluence goes to Dr. Alka Saxena whose vision and mission shaped this venture. The   Confluence certainly achieved its objective with an overwhelming participation of students as well as parents.

CLEANLINESS CAMPAIN

Small steps to bring a revolutionary change

The young generation of our country can lead our nation to scale greater heights through dedication, diligence and conviction. Keeping in mind the noble objective of Mahatma Gandhi and following the footsteps of our Prime Minister, Sri NarendraModi, a Cleanliness Campaign, ‘Clean School Green School’ was initiated by Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon from October 2,to 31,2014 to promote a sense of responsibility towards oneself, its surroundings and community hygiene. An array of activities were organized throughout the month for the students of classes III to X. The students of Primary Wing  participated in the campaign with full gusto. They initiated the month by cleaning their own classes as charity begins at home. They wrote slogans in Hindi on ‘Mera Swatch Bharat’, composed poem on ‘My Clean Green Dream’, participated in a quiz on ‘Sanitation’ and made posters on ‘Clean India’. They also attended an assembly that showcased the importance of cleanliness in one’s life and society. They watched a video on ‘How to keep our surroundings clean’and expressed their views and opinions. Students of VI to VIII wrote beautiful self-composed poem on ‘Cleanliness’, participated in Slogan Writng on ‘Swach Bharat’, designed power point presentation on ‘Green and Clean Energy’ and brought out their thoughts in making ‘Movie’ on the theme ‘Cleanliness. Students of classes IX and X staged one act play voicing their concern to see India  neat and clean.To reinforce the Swachh Bharat Mission, the school organized ‘ShraamDaan’ where the Bluebellians exhibited their wholehearted involvement. The students’ endeavour in cleaning the vicinity area – Ram Park, school periphery and sector 4 market area, set a perfect example for the onlookers that small contribution from everyone can bring a sea change and make our country look cleaner. Beautiful slogans and striking placards indeed created such an impact that the neighbours and passers-by joined the rally and lent a helping hand in the great mission. Through this noble act, the students proved that they are indeed the torchbearers of future India.  

Annual Sports Meet

Talent wins games but teamwork wins championship
Games and sports aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to children. Good sportsmanship provides guidelines that can be inculcated in students for lifelong achievements. Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon, organized Annual Sorts Meet  ‘Oorja-Chhoo Lo Aasman’ on January 28, 2015 with all its vigour and enthusiasm. The day’s proceeding commenced with the hoisting of the School Flag and Athletic Meet Flag by Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school. The oath was taken by Parth Kataria, Sport’s Captain – Primary Wing. March past by different houses lent a spectacular sight and the Principal took the salute. The melody of the group song ‘Khel Khel Mein’ energized everyone’s spirit. The Meet was then officially declared open by the Principal. The students participated and exhibited their zeal and gusto in various sports events like ball tray relay, 100mtr and 200mtr races for boys and girls, skipping, slow cycle race and flat race. The students’ performance in martial arts, mass drill and pyramid formation enthralled the audience and enlivened the atmosphere. The students also tapped their feet to the music in ‘Tapping Toes’ and Yoga Aerobics performance ‘Spiritual Rhythm’ mesmerized the audience. The ‘Savera’ students also added spice to the mega event by performing a well choreographed dance on ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. Through sheer determination and excellent performance the students of Mother Teresa House won the championship trophy. Ms. Chandan Dhawan addressed the students of the school  highlighting the importance of games and sports in student’s life. She felicitated the winners of various events by giving away the medals.The event culminated with lowering of the school flag and singing the national anthem.

Prize Distribution Ceremony

Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon, organised Prize Distribution function on January 23, 2015 in all its vigour and enthusiasm.  Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools highlighting the importance of academics in students’ life. The melody of the group song ‘Khel Khel Mein’ energized everyone’s spirit. The students also tapped their feet to the music in ‘Tapping Toes’ and Yoga Aerobics performance ‘Spiritual Rhythm’ mesmerized the audience. A Prize Distribution Ceremony was also organized to felicitate the toppers of class XII (Session 2013-14) in various subjects and streams and 10 CGPA rank holders of class X (Session 2013-14). The achievers of co-scholastic activities of Primary, Middle and Senior Wing were also lauded for their meritorious performance. The winners of heats were also awarded by the Principal.
Dr. Suman Gulati congratulated   and gave away the prizes and certificates to the students. A well synchronized group dance ‘Sporty Rhapsody’ captivated everyone’s attention. To mark Basant Panchami students hailed Goddess Saraswati through a melodious rendition of Saraswati Vandana. A speech rendered by Yashika Sachdeva on ‘Republic Day’ threw light on the importance of the day. The event culminated with lowering of the school flag and singing the national anthem.  

Lohri Celebration

Festivities promote diversity, they increase creativity, they offer opportunities for civic pride and make this world a better place to live with Love & Unity”

And thus the whole Blue Bells faculty, the most important pillars of the great institution come together to celebrate Lohri as one single family. All the faculty members were invited by Madam Principal Mrs. Chandan Dhawan for the celebration. There was a bonfire lighted and the atmosphere was very calm and soothing. The teachers talked and later danced and sang merrily around the bonfire. They played games and enjoyed the festival of harvest to its height. The teachers belonging to all different religion were together and enjoying. They all had a merry time and celebrated Lohri to its fullest. As a whole the faculty members had a great time and a lot of fun.
