Educational Excursion to Aravalli Biodiversity Park

On a memorable visit to Aravalli Biodiversity Park, students of Blue Bells Model School, in collaboration with BML Munjal University, explored the richness of nature on 24^th August 2024 . The trip provided an exceptional learning experience, offering insights into the park’s ecosystem, including a diverse range of birds, butterflies, and plants. Students gained a deeper understanding of the park's functioning and the roles of various stakeholders. This educational excursion was a refreshing escape from city life, allowing students to connect with nature and enhance their academic knowledge.

ADOLESCENCE WORKSHOP

An Informative Workshop on The Teen Guide-Unlocking the Path to a Positive Adolescence

“Drugs destroy your memory and your self-respect and everything that goes along with your self-esteem.” – Kurt Cobain

Substance abuse involves the harmful use of substances like tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs, and prescription drug abuse, leading to impairment or distress. To raise awareness among adolescents about the dangers of these substances that jeopardize their futures, an informative workshop on ‘The Teen Guide-Unlocking the Path to a Positive Adolescence’ was organized under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme of the school under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS.

The engrossing sessions were conducted on August 14, 2024, for students of Classes IX to XII by Ms. Chetna Vashist, Counselling Psychologist & Soft Skill trainer at My Peegu. The expert provided a detailed presentation and video on the issue, covering its causes, effects, and prevention. Ms Chetna further explored the complexities of teenage behaviour and the factors driving addiction to social media and substances. Key topics included the teenage brain's idealism, critical thinking, risk-taking, personal fables, and imaginary audiences.

The discussion highlighted on how peer pressure, fear of missing out (FOMO), and the attraction of new experiences contribute to addictive behaviours. Short-term diversion from reality can lead to harmful long-term consequences for personal development. To counteract these challenges, experts recommended practical strategies: engaging the senses, journaling, listening to music, participating in outdoor activities, and seeking adult support during stressful times.

      Each session concluded on a thoughtful note emphasizing that addressing addiction   requires awareness of its impacts and the ability to distinguish between positive and negative thought patterns.

Journey Through India Legacy: A Day at the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and Nehru Planetarium

On August 24, 2024, the Primary Wing students of Blue Bells Model School, from Classes III-V, set out on a thrilling educational trip to Delhi’s Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and Nehru Planetarium. The day was packed with learning, exploration, and excitement, aiming to ignite their curiosity and make education an enjoyable experience.

The adventure began at the Nehru Planetarium, an iconic center for astronomy education. The students were captivated by a fascinating space show that virtually transported them across the cosmos. With stunning visuals, interactive sessions, and thought-provoking commentary, they explored the mysteries of the universe—from stars and planets to black holes and galaxies.

After a short break, the group moved on to the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, a museum dedicated to the contributions of India’s prime ministers. The students were engrossed in the interactive exhibits, artifacts, and immersive displays. They gained deeper insights into India’s history, politics, and leadership, leaving them inspired by the stories of the nation’s leaders.

The highlights of the trip included engaging exhibits and interactive displays at the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, an unforgettable space show at the Nehru Planetarium, and opportunities to ask questions and explore their curiosity. The experience not only enhanced their knowledge but also broadened their perspectives, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning.

The students and teachers returned to school with wonderful memories, energized by the day’s discoveries and inspired for future learning adventures!

Second Edition of Student Led Conference

Blue Bells Model School hosted its second Student Led Conference, a testament to the school’s commitment to progressive education on 24^th August 2024 . Organized for students in grades VI to VIII by 'The Learning Space'—the Learning & Development Department—under the guidance of Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools ,the conference aimed to empower students to take ownership of their learning.

Students actively participated, sharing their achievements, learning strategies, and goals with parents through engaging presentations and interactive sessions. This event not only showcased academic progress but also highlighted the development of essential skills like communication, confidence and leadership. The conference provided valuable insights into classroom experiences, strengthening the partnership between school and families.

The successful event underscored the importance of student-led learning, fostering confident, independent learners, and reinforcing the school’s dedication to holistic education.

CYBER AWARENESS WORKSHOP

The school organized an enlightening session on cyber security which aimed at educating students about the importance of staying safe online on 30^th July 2024. The session was conducted by Mr. Priyanshu Dewan, the ACP of the Cyber Cell in Gurugram who  is a dedicated officer with a robust background in cybercrime investigation. The team highlighted the increasing number of cyber threats and the importance of protecting personal information.  

Th event marked the presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools who has always been the strong support. She shared her words of wisdom and encouraged the cyber council. The Cyber Team extends gratitude towards Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director, IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools and under her guidance the IT Department has worked wonders towards empowerment of students as well as mentors.

The Cyber Council members also conducted an Awareness Drive in Ram Park, Sector 4  during the morning hours. They apprised the residents about Cyber Threats and how they can overcome these threats and be a responsible and learned citizens. After this drive they were given certificates also. They appreciated the initiative taken by the Cyber Council members.

A Monologue & Talk Show was presented to the students of Grades IX & XI  by the cyber council members to address the need of being cyber aware.  The cyber security session was a significant step towards fostering a safer online environment for our students. It provided valuable knowledge and practical tools to help protect against cyber threats.      

The session concluded with a wonderful dance performance. The dance showcased  how our soldiers defend our borders and it’s our responsibility to protect the digital frontiers as well.  With cyber threats on the rise, empowering young minds with cybersecurity knowledge is crucial. 

The school’s cyber council plans to hold similar sessions in the future to continue educating students about the ever-evolving landscape of cyber security.

Har Ghar Tiranga Padyatra

Blue Bells Model School organized a spirited "Har Ghar Tiranga" rally, celebrating the essence of patriotism and unity among students and staff. The rally saw enthusiastic participation, with everyone proudly waving the national flag and marching through the streets, promoting the importance of national pride and the significance of the Tiranga in every household. The event fostered a deep sense of community and love for the country among all participants.

MOCK TRADING SESSION

Empowering Financial Literacy

Blue Bells Model School's Stock Savvy Society, under Vittclub BBMS, successfully hosted a Mock Trading Session in collaboration with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), New Delhi on 8th August 2024 in the school premises. The event provided Grade XI Commerce students with practical insights into stock trading, investment strategies, and market analysis. Guided by experts from SRCC and the Stock Savvy Society, students engaged in hands-on trading activities, enhancing their financial literacy.

The event also featured a special award ceremony, recognizing students for their outstanding performance in mock trading sessions. The ceremony continued with the announcement of today's session winners for grades VI-XII showcasing the students' exceptional grasp of financial literacy.

This impactful session marks a significant step in the school's commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world financial skills.

Friendship Day (Assembly by Class IV D)

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.”

A true friend is a blessing indeed; be it to share a laugh or to wipe a tear, the presence of an understanding confidante can make the world a better place. To celebrate Friendship Day the students of class IV D conducted an assembly on August 5, 2024. The students initiated the assembly with the prayer followed by a pledge, a school song, and sharing the happenings around the world through the National and International News. To enlighten and brighten the morning a beautiful thought on “Friendship” was shared by the student to highlight the theme of the assembly. Students explained the significance of celebrating friendship citing the example of Krishna and Sudama which touched the hearts of the audience with its message that true friendship does not distinguish between riches and poverty.  The poems recited by students were applauded by all.  Students danced to a melodious song to emphasize the true meaning of friendship. The assembly concluded with inspirational words by the School Principal, Ms. Alka Singh.  

Youth Parliament : Two-Day Parliamentary Session

 The school cohort comprising Armaan Sareen,  Shashwat Semwal and Arya Ojha made a visit to the Vidhan Sabha of Rajasthan, where they engaged in a crucial discussion about coaching institutes and their associated scams. Armaan Sareen addressed the Vidhan Sabha directly, enriching the discussion. Later, Arya and Armaan spoke at Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, the school hosting the two-day event, providing valuable insights and engaging with broader discussions.  This experience deepened their understanding of the region’s educational challenges and their impact on parliamentary debates. The group also explored the city’s rich heritage and vibrant culture.

The students from various schools, including Shashwat Semwal presented their speeches. Shashwat also served as the speaker in the chair. Arya and Armaan had their points of information selected and addressed by the respective minister, offering direct interaction with key issues. The participation at the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly significantly enriched their experience, making the visit to Jaipur both memorable and impactful.
