Annual Sport’s Day- Closing Ceremony

‘Sports are about incredible moments where sheer human will and desire overcomes all obstacles and challenges.’

Sports are the essence of life which not only build character but also serve as great teachers and motivators. It mirrors life’s trials and tribulations, joys and sorrows, hopes and losses and grooms the overall personality of a sports person. To experience the flavour and spirit of life, Closing Ceremony of Annual Sport’s Day, Atheltasia 2022 was commemorated for the students of BBMS on 13^th November 2022.The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mohit Grewal, Wrestler, Commonwealth Bronze Medalist 2021 and Guests of Honour Mr. Kunal Thakran, a Commercial Pilot, International Swimmer and an Alumnus of BBMS and Devershee Sachan, International Para Athlete Champion. The presence of the Director BBGS, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati added charm to the ceremony and blessings to the participants. The event commenced with the hoisting of Sport’s Flag by the Chief Guest followed by the March Past by the NCC cadets and four House students and oath-taking by the Sport’s Captain Kritika. The torch relay by the State and National Level winners of the school was a spectacular sight for the spectators as each running step conveyed the message of success, integrity, camaraderie, peace, teamwork and hope for the future. With an invigorating heart of a sportsman, Mohit Grewal declared the Athletics Meet 2022-23 open. The melodic group song ‘Kadam milakar chalna hoga…’ and mass drill interlaced with Dumbles, Lazium, Swiss Ball, Yoga, Aerobics & Pyramids entranced all the onlookers.

Interesting races like 50m Balloon Brust Race for class III Girls, Hoola Hoop Relay Race for class IV Boys, 100 m Tray Ball Zig Zig Race for class V Boys, Box Relay Race for class VI Boys, 100 m Sack Race for class VII Boys, 100 m Race for classes VIII& XI Boys & Girls, 200 m Race for classes IX & X Boys, 4X100m Relay Race for class X Girls, 200 m Hurdle Race for class XI Boys and 4X200m Relay Race  for class XI were organized and everyone observed the passionate participation of the zealous Blue Bellians. Parents’ participation in few fun-filled events like 200m for men,100m for women, Tug of War for men and women, Partner Relay Race for Couples and Dress up your Ward in School Uniform for parents of class III-V students was a remarkable and motivating sight for everybody. The splendid event was wrapped beautifully when the school’s melodious singers sang in unison ‘Shabaash kya khela re…’lauding all the participants. The Chief Guest and Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati felicitated the winners by giving away the trophies. Tagore House won the Champion Trophy and Indira Gandhi House bagged the Runner’s Trophy. Before the declaration of the Athletic Meet Close, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering and saluted the indomitable sportsman spirit of all the participants which got manifested in their outstanding performance in the ground. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks given by the Sport’s Captain who thanked each and everyone who worked relentlessly to make Athletics Meet 2022-23 a grand success.

Children's Day Assembly

“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of our nation and the citizens of tomorrow” by Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Blue Bells Model School wishes A Very Happy Children’s Day to our students and to the little child inside everyone. "We were all children once. We all share the desire for the wellbeing of our children, who has always been and will continue to be the most universally cherished aspiration of humankind." A day marking childhood- Children’s day celebration focus on children and their enjoyment. The day is celebrated to pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter, popularly known as ‘Chacha Nehru’. The occasion is celebrated every year with grandeur, splendor and fiesta in Blue Bells Model School. The day commemorated with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence. A special Assembly was conducted for children with an endearing presentation by the teachers. The celebration began with the Morning Prayer, followed by variety of events like beautiful song sung by the Primary teachers, Story Telling sessions, Dance and Zumba session. The students of grade III dressed up in according to their favourite characters for Role-Play activity.  It was a fun- filled day for our Primary students. The assembly was addressed by Madam Principal Ms Alka Singh and Ms Pallavi Sinha Primary Wing In-charge. They appreciated the efforts of teachers. FOUNDER'S DAY CELEBRATION 2022

‘Success means having the courage, the determination and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be.’

Every accomplishment starts with a decision to try. Success lies in the heart and is activated by the hope that lies in the dream. Sri B.D. Gulati, Founder Chairman of BBGS was an idealist, a visionary who with whole-hearted dedication and efforts laid the foundation of Blue Bells Model School long back and had shaped the lives of countless young individuals.

Blue Bells Model School commemorated its 43^rd Founder’s Day. A pious hawan along with the chanting of mantras to invoke the Almighty and seek his blessings set a divine ambience for the celebration. Sapling plantation by Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools and distribution of plants by the NCC cadets of the school conveyed the message that Blue Bellians care for Mother Earth. An inter-house flower decoration competition was organized on D-day for Primary Wing . The students enthusiastically took part in the competition and their knowledge about the flowers was incredible. The participants used different combinations of flowers to present their artistic skills and spread the message of togetherness.  Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati showered her blessings to her students and faculty members and wished the school to grow to excellence in the realm of education.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY-OPENING

Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision.

Games and sports have become an integral element of present-day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. They also enhance the physical and mental development of children. In sync, the school inaugurated the Annual Sports Day on 10^th November 2022. The day was graced by Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Kunal Thakran, Alumnus, Ace Champion and Ace Commercial Pilot.

The eventful day commenced with Inter-House Cross Country Competition in Sec-4, Gurugram. The highly energetic students participated in the competition with zeal and passion. The event proceeded further with the hoisting of Sport’s Flag by the Chief Guest followed by the March Past by the NCC Cadets and Band students. A melodious group song ‘Kadam milkar chalna hoga…’ and mass demonstration through a Marathi Lezium Dance enthralled and captivated the spectators. With an inspirational heart & sportsmanship fervour, revered Director ma’am declared the Athletics Meet 2022-23 Open. Few races like Frog Jump Relay Race for class III Boys, Three Balloon Race for class IV Boys, Ball Collection Relay Race for class V Girls, 4X100 m. Flag Relay Race for class VII Boys, 4X100 m Relay Race for class VIII Boys & XI Girls and 110 m Hurdle Race for class IX Boys were organized and everyone witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the ardent Blue Bellians. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour felicitated the winners by giving away the trophies. Kunal Thakran in his speech appreciated all the athletes of the day for their grit and determination. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati in her address to the students stated that to be a remarkable athlete, one must cultivate the mindset of a winner and every challenge is an opportunity to develop a new strength and achieve new heights.

SAFE & GREEN DIWALI CELEBRATION

‘The festive light of Diwali brings in abounding happiness for all.’ Diwali is a festival that signifies the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair. However, in recent years, extravagant celebrations have not only put a great strain on the environment but have also put people’s health at stake. Air pollution levels rise to dangerous levels, energy, and food wastage increase exponentially, plastic packaging and cracker debris litter the roads and several people and animals suffer physically.

Keeping these environmental, health & safety factors in mind, Safe and Green Diwali was celebrated under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme of the school in the Middle & Senior Wing and Primary Wingon October 19 & 21, 2022 respectively. To root the students in the rich cultural heritage along with sensitizing them to preserve the resources, age-specific events were designed under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. Ma’am is constantly working to integrate the best emergent practices of Values and Life Skills in the system.

A Special Assembly was organized for Primary Wing students by the Peer Educators of Classes VI & VII on the Safe and Green Diwali theme. Peer educators presented the story in a creative manner through attractive props. The presentation was appreciated by all. Do’s and Don’t of the celebration were briefed to the students followed by an interactive Quiz. The students of the Middle & Senior Wing were engrossed in a plethora of activities -Class VI was involved in Card Making /Rangoli Designing, Class VII worked on Best out of Waste and Class VIII prepared a Recipe Booklet of Homemade Sweets. Class IX added melody to the occasion by composing Jingles on Diwali. The activities helped the students to think deeper and understand the true essence of celebration and propelled them to review the situation from a different perspective.

The team urged the learners to ‘SAY NO TO CRACKERS’ and celebrate a Safe & Green Diwali. It was an earnest attempt by the Health and Wellness Team to create sensitivity on the issue along with creating an understanding of the real essence of celebrating Diwali.

WORLD FOOD DAY 2022

COMMITMENT TO WORK TOWARDS ZERO HUNGER ON WORLD FOOD DAY 2022

World Food Day is observed every year on 16 October and is dedicated to eliminating global hunger. The year 2022 finds the world still struggling with an ongoing pandemic, conflict, a climate that won’t stop warming, rising prices, and international tensions. This is affecting global food security.

Therefore, there is an earnest need to build a sustainable world where everyone, everywhere has regular access to enough nutritious food. With this as a guiding thought, the Health & Wellness Team under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS celebrated ‘World Food Day’ on the theme ‘The Road to Zero Hunger’ on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 on October 18, 2022. Diverse age-specific activities were designed by the Health & Wellness Team for the students of the Primary Wing, Middle Wing, and Senior Wing to sensitize the students on the wastage of food and how they can contribute to the road of Zero Hunger.

The students of Classes III-V   made thought-provoking Posters on  "Eat Seasonal and Local”. Class VI students were engrossed in Poster Making on reducing the wastage of food, Class VII students maintained a Food Log and paint Hunger Awareness quotes on T-shirts. The students of  Class VIII researched on hunger under three parameters-Causes, Statistics, and Suggested solutions to combat the grave situation. They showcased their understanding of Zero Hunger with an E-presentation. An engrossing Group Discussion was organized for the students of Class IX on integrated approaches that respond to the multiple, interconnected causes of hunger and malnutrition and encourage all to work together towards ending hunger.

The students enthusiastically participated in the activities, making this endeavour an enriching experience. The celebration is a testimony to the commitment to creating awareness among the netizens about the wastage of food and the need to eliminate hunger. 

Inter House Competition-Eat Right Creativity Challenge

“Human being is a master of his /her own health as it is the only wealth.”

A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic non-communicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars, and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, are essential for a healthy diet. With an aim to stimulate young minds towards eating right for sound health, the Health & Wellness Programme of the school provides an opportunity for the students to participate in the ‘Eat Right India’ movement, a flagship program of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The Health & Wellness Team organized the ‘Eat Right Creativity Challenge’, under the inspirational guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS on October 21, 2022. In this challenge, the students of the Primary Wing made thought-provoking posters on "Eat Seasonal and Local". Middle & Senior Wing students participated in Inter House Competitions.

The motive of the ‘Eat Right Creativity Challenge’ was to ensure the health and well-being of people through safe food, and healthy and sustainable diets. Food habits are formed early in life and difficult to change them. As young Netizens are agents of change and their potential to influence entire families could be leveraged to change the way people eat. The students of all four houses enthusiastically competed in the competitions. Classes VI-VIII also made thoughtful posters on ‘Eat Local Eat Seasonal’, Classes IX to XII were involved in Eat Right Rangoli Competition, and Classes VI-XII made Eat Healthy Bulletin Board Decoration Competition on the theme- ‘Benefits of Millets’. Nandini (VIII A) and Jiya (VIII A) from Tagore House  bagged Ist and IInd Position respectively in the Poster Making Competition; Nehru House and Mother Teresa House bagged Ist and IInd Position respectively in Bulletin Board Competition.

FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOP

To navigate through today’s tough financial landscape, it’s crucial that financial education is introduced right at the school level as it’s undoubtedly an essential life skill.

To spread Financial Literacy among students, it is important to make them aware of the importance of finance or money matters right from their schooling days. In sync, The Vittclub of BBMS organized an assembly on the topic of Financial Literacy for the students of Class XI for all streams. The session began with a brief introduction about financial literacy by Dishita Singh, Co-ordinator of Vittclub BBMS and Core Member of Vittclub BBMS, Shravika Jain. After the basic introduction Harsh Jha, Core Member, Vittclub BBMS addressed the students that how financially educated students can help their families in financial matters to make the right decision at right time. He also discussed the Stock Trading process and the Power of Compounding Interest and How a student can reduce the cost of an Education Loan by just paying attention or few financial planning.

The session ended by Riya, Chief Coordinator of VittClub BBMS through a conclusive speech where she talked about the importance of learning Financial Literacy and how financial education can make a difference in the day-to-day life of them. IT support was provided by Giri Gupta, an Executive Member of VittClub BBMS.

Assembly On Guru Nanak Jayanti

A special assembly was organised by Grade III-E on November 7,2022 on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti with great fervour and zeal.

The assembly commenced with Shabad Gaan –“Ek Onkaar” . The soulful Shabad filled the atmosphere with serenity.

Further the students shed light on the significance of celebrating Guru Purab.

Students also highlighted the preaching of the Guru Nanak through placards, carrying forward the message of humanity and community service.

It was a wonderful day full of great learnings and fun.

Students gained important life lessons through his legacy and achievements with great pride, honour and respect.

Assembly On Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Jayanti

India is a secular country with diversified cultures and the significances in their own kind. As an endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, the country celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on 31st October as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). In line with the celebrations countrywide, Blue Bells Model organised a special assembly in the school premises in order to extend their heartfelt appreciation about the life and the involvement of the great leader, Sardar Patel , in the veritable contribution during the freedom struggle and to lay a foundation of a unified country fused with oneness. The idea was to infuse in the young future generation with values integrated with the knowledge and adoration about the country’s rich heritage. The assembly began with the school song, News and thought of the day followed by the impressive speeches made by the students in English on the life, history and the role of Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle to establish a harmonious society. Students also presented beautiful Role-Plays. At the end, the assembly was addressed by Madam Pallavi Sinha Primary Wing In-charge.
