PM National Cadet Corps Rally 2023

“NCC is just not just an organization, but it is a life,

which transforms you to a totally different person.”

 NCC instills comradeship, discipline, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. This year, NCC is celebrating the 75th year of its inception. Thirty NCC Cadets of Blue Bells Model School visited the Carriappa Parade Ground, Delhi on 28 January 2023 to attend the Prime Minister’s Rally with school ANO Mr. Jitendra Lakhera and 2 escort teachers, Mrs. Sunita Yadav and Mrs. Neetu along with Cadet Harshit Sharma, who had been selected for Republic Day camp 2023.  The cadets witnessed the parade of the 17 directorates of NCC and the international cadets. In the true Indian spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, 196 officers and cadets from 19 foreign countries have been invited to participate in the celebrations.

The NCC is a youth wing of India’s armed forces and is open to students across all schools and colleges on a voluntary basis. The organisation comprises of the Army, Air Force and Navy wing, and imparts basic military training in small arms and drills to the cadets. The NCC was formed under the National Cadet Corps act of 1948 and is currently headed by Lt General Gurbirpal Singh.

 The Prime Minister told the cadets that both as NCC cadets and as youth of the nation they represent the ‘Amrit Generation’ of the country which will take the nation to new heights in the coming 25 years and will create a ‘Viksit’ and ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’. During the event, Prime Minister released a special Day Cover and a commemorative specially minted coin of ?75/- denomination, commemorating 75 successful years of NCC.

The rally was held as a hybrid day and night event and included a cultural programme on the theme 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'. Our high-spirited cadets enjoyed and it was a dream come true for them. This experience was both exciting and inspiring for all the cadets.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

74th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

 ‘On the occasion of Republic Day, let’s all promise our motherland that we will do our utmost to enrich and preserve our inheritance, our ethos, and our treasure.’

With freedom in our mind and faith in our heart, we remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be an Indian. Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, commemorated the 74th Republic Day by organizing a cultural fiesta on January 25, 2023 to mark the iconic moment of Indian history when India's constitution came into being declaring the country as an Independent Republic Nation. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, BBGS. On this auspicious occasion, the day’s proceedings commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati. March Past by NCC cadets lent a splendid sight and the Director Madam took the salute. It was followed by the spectacular presentation of the band.

SARASWATI PUJA CELEBRATION

May Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of education, bless us with   knowledge and wisdom as embark on our journey of learning!

Basant Panchami – the festival that marks the beginning of spring with the worship of Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge – was celebrated with great fervour at the Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram on 25^th January 2023. Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of intelligence, knowledge, education, music and art is worshipped on the fifth day of the Magha. The Saraswati Temple in the school was decorated with flowers on this pious occasion and Saraswati Puja was celebrated to usher in the Goddess and seek Her blessings to enlighten us with knowledge and wisdom. The students invoked the deity through Saraswati Vandana and worshipped the Goddess to dispel the darkness of ignorance from our lives and illuminate it with the brightness of rationality and understanding. Drenched in the festive spirit were the little children who along with the mentors offered floral tribute and worshipped the goddess and sought her blessings for knowledge and wisdom.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT

"Every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow.”

We, at Blue Bells, believe that exploration and growth go hand in hand. Keeping in sync with this ethos, the students of Blue Bells Model School got an opportunity to interact with the students of Vin School imperia, Vin School Ocean Park on the topic “Fibonacci Sequence - Golden Ratio and their Applications” in a Microsoft Teams Session. Students exhibited their presentations on the topic  showing the connection with nature and its applications in real world.

 The session was interactive and engrossing with a perfect blend of Quiz, Presentation, and Information. Educators of Vin School shared their views on International exchange program and shared that such exposure and International connect propels students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.  It was truly an integration of another family as well as the development of life-long friendships fostering an appreciation of internationally connected families.

Farewell Ceremony ‘Jab We Left- Hasta-La-Vista’

‘Students become the subject of the teacher’s actions, the target of the teacher’s thoughts, and compliments of the teacher’s endeavours.’ 

“I cannot say goodbye to those whom I have grown to love, for the memories we have made, will last a lifetime, and will never know a goodbye.” It’s a tough moment when a student has drawn the curtain on one’s school life and forge ahead in pursuit of higher education and it is equally a difficult time for the teachers to bid adieu to the students whom they taught, groomed and nurtured so fondly over the years. To make this treasured moment more cherishing, the students of class XI, filled with exuberance and zeal gathered to bid farewell to the outgoing class XII students on January 14, 2023.

The fiesta ‘Jab We Left-Hasta-La-Vista’ was devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers and to reminisce the joyous moments. The valedictory event began with the lightning of ceremonial lamp swathed with the chanting of Shloka. The ambience was set perfectly pious by the students of class XI with Shiv Stuti. The celebration caught its spur with a rendition of scintillating dance performances, astounding fashion show and pulsating band presentation that bedecked the whole setting. A Talent Hunt contest was organised for the out-going students to keep them engaged and cheerful. The skill manifestation of the students with a specific prop was highly commendable. Titles were conferred to class XII students on the basis of their exhibited prowess. Prassiddhi Sachdeva was crowned as Miss Blue Bells and Priyanshu Singh as Mr. Blue Bells. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director-Blue Bells Group of Schools addressed the students by rightly quoting the adage, ‘Every great dream begins with a dreamer and you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion  to reach for the stars to change the world’. She wished the students a bright future ahead and appreciated the efforts of the organizing team to make the event a grand success.

Literature Fest for Child Authors

“Literature is the mirror of society. It is important to provide child authors the right environment and upbringing to promote literature.” 

 Twenty-three students attended the Muskaan Literature Festival for Child Authors that was scheduled on 11^th January 2023 at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi. The programme was graced by Minister of State for Women and Child Development Mahendra Munjapara. The students attended two sessions on the topics – Finding the Rhythm of the Rhyme and The Sky is the Limit or What? The genres covered were poems and sci-fi. The students listened to the panel discussions that took place amongst the various child authors on the given topics. The students also witnessed a story telling session through puppetry. It was a learning experience for the students and they were inspired to step into the field of literature.

Trip to Udaipur

“Travel opens your heart, broadens your mind, and fills your life with stories to tell.” 

A 5-days Educational Trip was organized for the students of Classes VI-VIII from 8^th to 12^th January 2023 to Udaipur and Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The destination was planned keeping in mind that the city of Lakes, Udaipur is a kaleidoscope of fairy-tale palaces, lakes, temples, gardens and narrow lanes strewn with stalls, carry the flavour of heroic past, epitomising valour and chivalry. Udaipur is now looked upon and counted among the romantic cities of the World and subsequently called the ‘Venice of East’.

On reaching Udaipur after taking some rest the students were taken for a guided tour of City Palace and in the evening, they experienced an unforgettable Sound and light show. The next day, the students went to Chittorgarh for Heritage Walk. Chittorgarh was one of the most fiercely contested seats of power in India. There after the students headed to Lok Kala Kendra to see an enthralling show of puppetry and Rajasthani Folk Dances. On the last day at Udaipur the students visited Fateh Sagar Lake, Chetak Memorial & Sahelion ki Bari. The students purchased some mementos from the nearby shops to gift to their near and dear ones.

The students boarded the train with fond memories of the trip in their hearts hoping to witness another enthralling experience in the days to come.

Trip to Jodhpur & Jaisalmer

“Travel makes you realize that no matter how much you know, there’s always more to learn.”

Blue Bells Model School, Sector-4 Gurugram believes that trips and excursions are a perfect way to expand one’s horizons. Keeping this in mind, we organise regular educational trips and excursions for students to promote learning through outdoor interactions and experiences. In addition, such trips also instill a sense of appreciation for the wonders of the earth and expose our children to a wide variety of cultural and geographical ecosystems.

The planned and escorted trips are always a craze among the students and the excitement of Class XI students knew no bounds as they went to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer along with their friends and mentors from 8th-13th January 2023.

The students visited various historical forts and lakes like Gadisar lake, Sonar Quila, Patwonki Haveli. The main attraction of Jaisalmer was Sam sand dunes, bonfire, camel safari & beautiful sun set. It was an aesthetic sight. In Jodhpur, the students visited Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada. The children relished the food and danced to their favourite songs.

Hence, the important objective of planning trips is to provide an opportunity to teachers as well as students to bond with each other, giving both parties a break from their hectic schedules. Perhaps most important of all, students gain new insights into their own culture, and a more global perspective.

CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL

Let us have music for Christmas… Sound the trumpet of joy and rebirth; Let each of us try, with a song in our hearts, To bring peace to men on earth.

The chill of the morning did not dampen the spirit of the young hearts and 25 December 2022 became the perfect Sunday for the Christmas celebration at Blue Bells Model School, Sector- 04 Gurugram. The school bore rainbow colours celebrating the spirit festive spirit of the spectacular Christmas carnival.  It wore a festive look bedecked with Christmas trees, stars, candles and wreaths that added a sparkle to the Christmas celebration.

The event was graced by Dr Saroj Suman Gulati , Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Saumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic  Development and Innovation. The event began on the Stage with the formal inauguration by the revered Principal, Ms Alka Singh. The children soaked in the spirit of the festival through rock and pop-inspired musical performances by the school choirs of various grades, which gradually gave way to the DJs, their contemporary remixes and a naturally peppier environment. The dance troupe enraptured the audience with their graceful dance performance. Smartly accoutred in casuals, the students were prepared to ensure a balance between gorging on delicious food at the popular food stalls and letting their hair down to the latest mixes by their fellow student DJs.

The students and their parents had a rollicking time in The Wish Tree, Selfie Space, Robotics and SDG Corner, Art Gallery, The Design Lab, Sculpture Studio, Song and Music Point, Craft Corner, Books Gallery, Astronomy Hub and Food Counter made the visit of all the invitees a worthwhile and rejuvenating experience. The school had organized fun-wrapped activities for the students of grades I and  II of Blue Bells Preparatory School and students below 12 years.

 The Principal, Ms Alka Singh wished children and their families Merry Christmas and in her address , enunciated the Yuletide Spirit which fosters the joy of giving and helping the less fortunate. The students carried home the message of sharing and caring as well as the pleasure pride of spreading peace, true to the spirit of the CHRISTMAS celebration.

DHAROHAR

A teacher is like a candle, which consumes itself while lighting others. Believing in the superpower of teachers, the school organized an amazing event   “Dharohar” in which the mentors and proud alumni of yesteryears gladly met. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools were delighted to grace the occasion and recollected the joyful moments with the mentors and alumni. It was an amalgamation of fun, merriment and emotional reunion besides being an excellent platform for getting together.
