SCHOOL CINEMA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (SCIFF) 2024

 The Health & Wellness Programme of the school believes that instilling values and life skills in children is the key to their lifelong success. In sync with this philosophy, Value Education and Life Skills have been integrated into the curriculum for Classes III-VIII through School Cinema.

 The school proudly hosted the School Cinema International Film Festival 2024 from August 20 to August 31, 2024, under the aegis of Adept a Program for Enhancing Life Skills powered by Wellnesswise.in and inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. The festival, one of the world’s largest children’s film festivals, features over 75 films from more than 20 countries in 15 languages. The event fostered creativity, teamwork, and cultural appreciation, and included an engaging Inter School Session and movie screenings for Primary and Middle Wing students. The SCIFF 2024 had a befitting start with a special workshop led by Ms. Samina Mishra for Grade VI to VIII students, titled 'Understanding the Language of Cinema,' on August 20, 2024. The movies shown to students focused on themes such as friendship, empathy, determination, letting go, time management, caring for animals, respect for teachers, and appreciation. These films helped students reflect on these values and understand their significance in their lives.

The event organized as an Inter School Session for students from reputed schools of Gurugram was a great success. It provided an exceptional opportunity for them to immerse themselves in a world of visual storytelling. It also gave them a deep sense of clarity in empowering themselves to overcome life’s challenges. Students enjoyed the films and found them relatable, connecting them to their personal experiences.

The SCIFF 2024 was a powerful platform for students and teachers of various schools to enjoy a selection of international films and activities that not only entertained but also educated, promoting teamwork, creativity, and cultural appreciation. The festival's success reflects the programmes commitment to holistic education and has left an indelible impact on all. We look forward to continuing this tradition and organizing more such enriching events in the future.

Ganesh Chaturthi

On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the students of the Primary Wing celebrated the arrival of Lord Ganesha, the embodiment of hope and resilience. As we welcome Ganpati Bappa into our lives, we are reminded of the importance of humility, gratitude, and striving for excellence. To mark this special day, our young students lovingly crafted idols of Lord Ganesha using clay and poster using leaves, offering their heartfelt prayers and seeking divine blessings. May the teachings of Lord Ganesha continue to guide us and inspire us to become the best version of ourselves.

Blue Bells Model School Students Meet Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy)

In a remarkable and inspiring event, a group of students from Blue Bells Model School had the honour of meeting Lt. General Tarun Kumar Aich, PVSM & AVSM, the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Strategy), at his office in South Block, New Delhi. The visit was led by the school's NCC Officer, Mr. Jitendra Lakhera and Principal Ms. Alka Singh. The delegation included NCC cadets Harshit Sharma, Shivranjini Piplani, Titiksha Kukreja, Arya Ojha, and the School Ambassador, Armaan Sareen.

Lt. General Aich, the first DCAS from the prestigious Madras Regiment and former Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), welcomed the students warmly. During the interaction, Lt. General Aich shared valuable insights about a career in the armed forces, emphasizing the sense of pride, duty, and fulfillment that comes with serving the nation. He encouraged the students to work hard, stay disciplined, and strive to achieve their goals, both in life and in their careers. His words left a lasting impression on the students who are motivated to pursue their dreams with dedication and determination.

This unique opportunity not only provided the students with a deep understanding of leadership and service but also filled them with a renewed sense of pride in their country and its armed forces. It was a day of learning, inspiration, and pride for the entire Blue Bells Model School community.

Teachers Day Celebration: A Heartfelt Tribute to Educators

On Teachers Day, the students of Grade XII organized a heartfelt celebration filled with emotion and gratitude. The event began with inaugural address by Raj Sardana(Cultural Secretary ) and Bhavya Yadav (Cultural Secretary). Raj poetic lines touched the hearts of everyone present.

Nipun Jain (Sports Captain )and Vrinda Khare (Health & Wellness Ambassador ) paid a special tribute to Late Shri Bijit Dutta, the school’s beloved Tabla teacher by dedicating a moving speech and bhajan .Their tribute left the audience deeply emotional.

As a symbol of appreciation, students presented a vibrant red heart, asking teachers to pen down their messages. In a touching gesture of love, rose petals were showered upon the teachers, creating a warm and affectionate atmosphere. The thoughtful interactions between students and teachers made the day unforgettable.

A cultural extravaganza was also organized, featuring entertaining performances. Vidushi and Anisha hosted a musical chair, while Vrinda Khare and Srishti Sanjay performed a delightful medley of songs. The celebration concluded with an energetic dance by Shambhavi and Riddhima, and a rap performance by Siyon and Gatik, expressing gratitude to the teachers.

Ganesh Chaturthi (Assembly by Mother Teresa House)

“Let’s celebrate the birth of the Lord who blesses us with happiness and prosperity.”

Blue Bells Model School celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, through a special assembly conducted by the students of Mother Teresa House. The objective of the assembly was to impart knowledge about the festival and its rituals. The assembly commenced with morning prayer, pledge, school song followed by a mesmerizing Ganesha Vandana (devotional bhajan) performed by the school's choir group, setting the spiritual tone for the event. It was followed by an invocation of Lord Ganesha, asking for his blessings for wisdom and success. Students presented informative speech about the history, significance, and cultural importance of Ganesh Chaturthi, emphasizing the values of wisdom, knowledge, and prosperity that Lord Ganesha represents. The assembly was concluded with a skit and a special dance performance by students.

At the end Principal Ma’am addressed the students and emphasized the importance of cultural awareness and festivals promoting unity among students from diverse backgrounds. Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Kiran Rawat, appreciated the efforts of the students and highlighted the importance of this aesthetic occasion.

Blue Bells Model School is committed to empowering children to take control of their learning, fostering a world where passion, curiosity, and creativity are at the forefront of education. Guided by this vision, and under the expert leadership of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools, the school proudly hosted Cyber Maze 2024-25—a Mega Intra-School IT Fest from August 27th to September 03, 2024. This event aimed to showcase the dynamic and innovative potential of technology in the hands of the tech-savvy generation.

The fest was inaugurated by the esteemed blessings and heartfelt wishes of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools and it set the tone for a week of exciting technological exploration. The ceremony featured the lighting of the diya and  the school song . Ms. Alka Singh, Principal Blue Bells Model School welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the pivotal role of technology in today's world.

A diverse array of competitions was curated to allow students to demonstrate their creativity and IT prowess. In the Junior Wing, under the banner of Concatenate, students participated in events like Programmed Paradise, Cyber Flick, Ideate and Reflect. The Middle Wing contestants, known as Captures, showcased their remarkable skills in Website Designing, Realm Rumble, and Hack-A-Thon Jr. Meanwhile, the Senior Wing, referred to as Configures, took on Cyber Tank, Valorant Gaming, and Hackathon-Sr. Additionally, students enthusiastically participated in Robotics events, divided into two categories: Robotics Juniors (III-V) and Robotics Seniors (VI-IX).

The closing ceremony was a fitting finale, featuring a motivational song on the event's theme. Highlights from the event, creatively presented through glimpses of Cyber Maze activities, captivated the audience.

Dr. Rakshit Tandon, a renowned Cyber Security Expert, honoured the event as the distinguished guest. He conducted an enlightening workshop on Cyber Safety for classes III-XII, using demonstrations and real-world examples to educate students about the risks of cybercrime. His address emphasized the importance of adopting safety measures while navigating the internet, dispelling various myths about user anonymity. Dr. Tandon praised the collective efforts of students and teachers in making Cyber Maze 2024-25 a resounding success.

The presence of our alumnus Samarth Khandelwal as one of our panelist judges overwhelmed us. He is an aspiring cybersecurity professional . The champions of Concatenate, Configures, and Captures were recognized and awarded by the Chief Guest, who congratulated the achievers and their mentors for their dedication and excellence. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, Middle Wing Incharge, marking the end of an inspiring and successful fest.

Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director - IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools, expressed her pride in the students' innovative spirit, stating that the goal of Cybermaze 2024-25 was to cultivate originality and creativity among students, preparing them to become future-ready leaders.

The achievements of the Blue Bellians were celebrated, with their openness to experimentation and challenge highlighted as key to their success.

CBSE RETIREMENT PLANNING

Blue Bells Model School organized a Retirement Planning Workshop in collaboration with CBSE on 29th August 2024. The resource person, Ms. Ruhi Mahajan, a renowned financial expert, guided participants on effective investment options for post-retirement life. The session was highly interactive, with Ms. Mahajan addressing queries on retirement funds, savings plans, and secure investments. The workshop aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions, ensuring a secure and comfortable retirement.

Educational Excursion to Aravalli Biodiversity Park

On a memorable visit to Aravalli Biodiversity Park, students of Blue Bells Model School, in collaboration with BML Munjal University, explored the richness of nature on 24^th August 2024 . The trip provided an exceptional learning experience, offering insights into the park’s ecosystem, including a diverse range of birds, butterflies, and plants. Students gained a deeper understanding of the park's functioning and the roles of various stakeholders. This educational excursion was a refreshing escape from city life, allowing students to connect with nature and enhance their academic knowledge.

ADOLESCENCE WORKSHOP

An Informative Workshop on The Teen Guide-Unlocking the Path to a Positive Adolescence

Substance abuse involves the harmful use of substances like tobacco, alcohol, illicit drugs, and prescription drug abuse, leading to impairment or distress. To raise awareness among adolescents about the dangers of these substances that jeopardize their futures, an informative workshop on ‘The Teen Guide-Unlocking the Path to a Positive Adolescence’ was organized under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme of the school under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS.

The engrossing sessions were conducted on August 14, 2024, for students of Classes IX to XII by Ms. Chetna Vashist, Counselling Psychologist & Soft Skill trainer at My Peegu. The expert provided a detailed presentation and video on the issue, covering its causes, effects, and prevention. Ms Chetna further explored the complexities of teenage behaviour and the factors driving addiction to social media and substances. Key topics included the teenage brain's idealism, critical thinking, risk-taking, personal fables, and imaginary audiences.

The discussion highlighted on how peer pressure, fear of missing out (FOMO), and the attraction of new experiences contribute to addictive behaviours. Short-term diversion from reality can lead to harmful long-term consequences for personal development. To counteract these challenges, experts recommended practical strategies: engaging the senses, journaling, listening to music, participating in outdoor activities, and seeking adult support during stressful times.

      Each session concluded on a thoughtful note emphasizing that addressing addiction   requires awareness of its impacts and the ability to distinguish between positive and negative thought patterns.

Journey Through India Legacy: A Day at the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and Nehru Planetarium

On August 24, 2024, the Primary Wing students of Blue Bells Model School, from Classes III-V, set out on a thrilling educational trip to Delhi’s Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and Nehru Planetarium. The day was packed with learning, exploration, and excitement, aiming to ignite their curiosity and make education an enjoyable experience.

The adventure began at the Nehru Planetarium, an iconic center for astronomy education. The students were captivated by a fascinating space show that virtually transported them across the cosmos. With stunning visuals, interactive sessions, and thought-provoking commentary, they explored the mysteries of the universe—from stars and planets to black holes and galaxies.

After a short break, the group moved on to the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, a museum dedicated to the contributions of India’s prime ministers. The students were engrossed in the interactive exhibits, artifacts, and immersive displays. They gained deeper insights into India’s history, politics, and leadership, leaving them inspired by the stories of the nation’s leaders.

The highlights of the trip included engaging exhibits and interactive displays at the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya, an unforgettable space show at the Nehru Planetarium, and opportunities to ask questions and explore their curiosity. The experience not only enhanced their knowledge but also broadened their perspectives, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning.

The students and teachers returned to school with wonderful memories, energized by the day’s discoveries and inspired for future learning adventures!
