TRANSITION SESSION FOR CLASS VI

The transition from Primary to Middle School is a pivotal milestone in every student’s academic journey, signaling a notable change in their educational environment and expectations. To address the needs of the young adolescents and offer them relevant guidance and information, the school's Health & Wellness Programme organized a 'Transition Session’ for the students of Grade VI on April 26, 2024.The session is an indigenous initiative under the inspirational mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. 

A preliminary activity in Grade VI was organised to explore students' emotions, perspectives, and anticipations, by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team. Students were grouped and tasked with creating a collage on reflecting their thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and expectations about transitioning to the Middle Wing.

A specially designed experiential learning session was conducted by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team, under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena to help students express their thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and expectations. The students were briefed about the program in the Middle Wing.  During an engaging session, team members addressed the students' feelings and concerns regarding their transition to a new wing, offering insights on how they can adapt positively to this change, which is essential for personal growth. They discussed the art of conversation as a tool to make new friends and shared strategies for breaking difficult tasks into manageable parts for effective learning. The importance of taking small steps and managing time was emphasized to organize studies and cope with changes successfully.

Additionally, Peer Educators from Class VII, Achintya, Kavita, Ayesha and Vihaan shared their experiences, highlighting how they managed their concerns with the support of Life Skills and honed their skills during the process of successfully navigating the transitional phase.

Ms. Kiran Rawat,  Primary Wing Leader, praised the students for their achievements in class V and encouraged them to uphold this success in their next class. Ms. Anshu Malika,  Middle Wing Leader, warmly greeted the students and assured them of creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal, extended her best wishes and blessings to the students. The school team reassured the students that they would receive support not only from their new teachers but also from their previous ones. This initiative by the Health & Wellness team is a proactive step to help students understand and adjust to changes more smoothly.

SOLAR MAN SESSION

Empowering Educational Futures: A Green Path to Progress

Blue Bells Model School witnessed a collaborative effort towards educational excellence and sustainable practices on 30^th April 2024 which featured an insightful session conducted by the Solar Man of India, Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, IIT Bombay, Founder of Energy Swaraj Foundation and Chairman of the committee of CBSE and AICTE for Solar Curriculum development. The session with Prof. Solanki added a practical dimension to discussions on renewable energy and sustainable development.

Beginning with warm greetings and a green-themed welcome, the gathering emphasized the interconnectedness of education, innovation, and environmental consciousness. The lighting of diyas symbolized a commitment not just to academic progress but also to nurturing a holistic approach to learning. Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools felicitated Prof Solanki with a shawl and his beautiful portrait. Ms Alka Singh, Principal, Blue Bells Model School expressed that the school is dedicated to nurturing aware, responsible and empowered learners.  The presence of Prof. Solanki, a distinguished advocate for solar energy, further reinforced the message of adopting eco-friendly practices in education and beyond. In his session, he stressed on “Energy Literacy Training” and “Wah! Wrinkles achhe hain: Embrace Sustainability and Wear Non-Ironed Clothes Every Monday”. The event left participants inspired and motivated to continue contributing towards a greener, more sustainable future through collaborative efforts and innovative initiatives.

INTERHOUSE NEWS READING COMPETITION

Inter-House News Reading Competition

Blue Bells Model School recently held an Inter-House News Reading Competition for classes VI-VIII on 26^th April 2024, where students from different houses showcased their communication skills. Indira Gandhi House secured the first position with their articulate and well-presented news reading, reflecting the importance of effective communication in leadership, as Indira Gandhi famously said, "The art of communication is the language of leadership."

Tagore House claimed the second position, displaying commendable communication abilities. A special mention prize was awarded to Mother Teresa House for their compassionate and impactful delivery, echoing Mother Teresa's dedication to serving humanity through effective communication. This competition not only celebrated the students' communication prowess but also highlighted the values of leadership and empathy in effective communication.

Extraordinary accomplishments are invariably the result of resolute commitment to brilliance. Blue Bellians have consistently endeavoured to demonstrate their resolve and expertise in the realm of education. To celebrate and honour the outstanding results achieved by students in Class III-IX and XI during the 2023-24 session, the school hosted the 'Felicitation' Award Ceremony on April 27, 2024. The event commenced with the diya lighting with the accompaniment of shloka recital, set a serene and auspicious atmosphere. Captivating group song and dance performances added to the ambiance of joy and exuberance.

On the occasion, Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools congratulated the academic achievers, ace performers and the students who achieved 100% attendance for their unwavering dedication and conviction. She emphasized the importance of devotion and steadfastness in achieving goals. She blessed the students for their academic excellence and punctuality. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal gave away the prizes to the deserving students and encouraged the students to maintain single-mindedness and assign themselves wholeheartedly to excel in life. She also applauded the efforts of the teaching fraternity for their sincere duty in nurturing the students.

Grade III Talent hunt

“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to showcase it.”

A talent Hunt show provides students an opportunity to show case their talent in any field. It not only helps the participants to show their abilities but also motivates other students, to come up front and show their secret potential. Young children have an ocean of hidden talent amongst them and we at Blue Bells Model School believe it letting our budding enthusiasts come forward and shine.

The talented dancers from all the sections of Grade III put a smile on our faces and the solo singers made us wish we were singers too. The talent show had a massive array of events like Classical music, solo dances, and instrumental music too.  We as teachers are immensely proud of all the participants. The talent show indeed proved to be a wonderful platform for the students to discover their hidden talents.

The students enthusiastically participated in the talent show and exhibited superb flair and abilities to excel in whatever they did.

Blue Nudge Session

Blue Nudge Group's Introductory Session: Inspiring Environmental Responsibility

An introductory session conducted by Ms. Anushka Chauhan from Blue Nudge Group on 24^th April 2024 successfully ignited a sense of environmental responsibility among students. The session provided valuable insights into the urgent need to care for our resources in a responsible manner. Students were sensitized about the impact of human actions on the environment, emphasizing the importance of being mindful in their day-to-day activities. Ms. Chauhan's engaging presentation highlighted the role of Blue Nudge as an Education to Action (EdAct) platform, focusing on community engagement and behavioural change to address environmental challenges.

Furthermore, Blue Nudge encourages students to embrace sustainability as a way of life. They advocate for students to take up environmental responsibility as a club alongside their school curriculum. This initiative not only aims to foster a deeper connection with nature but also empowers students to become proactive stewards of their planet. By instilling a sense of responsibility and providing practical tools for sustainable living, Blue Nudge Group's session paves the way for a greener, more conscious future.

Celebrating Cultural Splendour: Kathakali Event by SPIC MACAY

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

The Kathakali Event organized by SPIC MACAY at our school on 23^rd April 2024 was a vibrant celebration of India's rich cultural heritage. The school gave a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, including Kalamandalam Ramchandran Unnithan and troupe, renowned for their devotion to Indian classical music and dance. The event showcased the captivating artistry of Kathakali, highlighting its intricate movements, expressive storytelling, and rhythmic beats through the Sudama – Krishna episode. SPIC MACAY's mission to promote and preserve Indian classical arts was beautifully demonstrated through mesmerizing performances, fostering a deep appreciation among attendees for our cultural traditions.

Workshop on the Impact of Packaged Food

"Empowering minds with knowledge, one healthy choice at a time."

On April 22, the school hosted a transformative workshop on the "Impact of Packaged Food," in collaboration with Satvic Movement. This organization, renowned for its extensive community of over 8 million individuals across various social media platforms and a distinguished record of conducting workshops for over 5 lakh participants worldwide, provided invaluable insights and knowledge for our students.

The workshop was conducted by Satvic Educators - Mr. Rajat Jordan and Ms. Himadri Pareekh. Ms. Alka Singh, the School Principal, extended a warm welcome to the resource people and greeted them with an environmental-friendly gesture by presenting each of them with a planter. The workshop was structured in two batches to ensure maximum participation and engagement. The aim of the workshop was to educate students from Class III to Class VIII about the adverse effects of packaged foods and the importance of making healthier dietary choices.

Students were equipped with skills to decipher ingredient labels on packaged foods, enabling them to make informed decisions about their consumption. The session also shed light on the detrimental impact of chemicals found in packaged foods on our health, underscoring the significance of opting for natural and wholesome alternatives. Emphasis was placed on the nutritional benefits of incorporating fruits, vegetables, and home-cooked meals into daily diets, promoting a healthier lifestyle among students.

The workshop served as an eye-opening experience for students, empowering them with knowledge to make conscious dietary choices. By understanding the negative implications of consuming packaged foods laden with chemicals and the advantages of embracing natural, home-cooked meals, students are now equipped to prioritize their well-being and make healthier decisions for themselves and their families.

In collaboration with Satvic Movement, Blue Bells Model School successfully conducted a workshop that inspired students to adopt healthier eating habits. Ms. Kiran Rawat, the Primary Wing Incharge, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to Satvic Movement for their enlightening session.

World Book Day (Assembly by Class V B)

 On April 23, 2024, the JD Hall echoed with enthusiasm as the young minds of Class V B took center stage to celebrate the essence of literature on "World Book Day." The assembly commenced with the resonance of the school prayer, followed by the pledge and rendition of the school song. The Thought of the Day was shared on the significance of books which served as the catalyst for what was to follow – a celebration of literature in its various forms. A moment of poetic enchantment ensued as a young bard took the stage, weaving verses that painted vivid portraits of the importance of books. With fervor and gusto, the students presented a Nukkad Natak, a theatrical masterpiece that brought to life the transformative power of literature. The Class Incharge, Ms. Pooja Sharma, shared the words of wisdom served as a poignant reminder of the enduring value of literature in the life of students. With hearts and minds enriched, the students dispersed, carrying with them the promise of new adventures and discoveries waiting to unfold. Overall, the assembly proved to be informative and engaging, offering students valuable insights into the world of books.
