Blue Bells International Model School Hosted BBIMUN 2023 on the Theme ‘Sustainable Economic Growth and Social Equity’ OCTOBER 14 and 15, 2023 ‘Diplomacy begins with understanding, and MUN fosters that understanding.’ Sustainability encompasses the intertwined pillars of ecology, economy, and equity. It has evolved beyond merely reducing harm through conservation; it now revolves around proactive improvement and rejuvenation. Progress remains elusive without change, urging us to shift our perspectives to initiate transformative shifts. The objective of this forum is to enable every participant to reflect on their journey and proudly affirm that they collaborated, leveraging their unique strengths, to foster a more substantial and enduring sustainability. With this objective, Blue Bells Model School hosted Chapter VIII of BBIMUN 2023 on the theme, ‘Sustainable Economic Growth and Social Equity’ on October 14 and 15, 2023. More than 900 enthusiastic talented delegates from across Gurugram, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Punjab, Odisha, Tengana and Chandigarh partook in the mega event. The event witnessed participation of students from Vietnam, Phillipines, Macedonia, Bangladesh, Srilanka and Canada. Through this event the school established a prolific platform where all participants engaged and cooperated to address global challenges and discover innovative solutions. This initiative aimed to foster a sustainable economic growth and social equality and reshape the world we currently inhabit into a more promising future. The Opening Ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a devotional bandish on rag Jounpuri. The Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony of the mega event was Mr. Abhishek Gupta, our alumni and an eminent Career Counsellor. He is also the founder of High School Moms and GIDE.ai. Mudit Marwah, legal executive at EXL, was the Chief advisor of BBIMUN’23. Mr. Trilok Singh Bist Principal BDBBPS, Gurugram and Mr.Pramod Kumar Srivastava the Principal Model Academy Jammu graced the occasion by their benign presence. On this momentous occasion, four students Archo Sakina, Mohammed Yousuf, Mohammed Hussain and Kaneez Fatima along with their teachers Shabir Hussain Fayaz and Madhavi Peters, Esq. made a special journey from kargil to gain insights into the BBIMUN conference. We were honoured to have with us Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director, of BBGS. Ma’am congratulated the school team for organizing BBIMUN dexterously and efficiently. Krisha Gupta, Secretary General and Aarman Sareen, Deputy Secretary General declared the conference Open. Ms. Alka Saxena, Principal of the school bestowed all her blessings to the delegates for the two days of fierce debating. Delegates from all over the country were divided into eighteen committees and each committee deliberated on sustainable economic growth and social equality and also charted a resolution for the same. The Executive Board Panel comprised experienced MUNers who played an instrumental role in steering the young generation to fruitful work. Through BBIMUN, the students were provided a unique opportunity to engage in productive deliberations and develop strong bonds of camaraderie. The esteemed Guests of Honour at the Indian Online Committee conducted on 12th and 13th October 2023 included Ms. Sapna Sukul, the British Council Ambassador and Core Skills Trainer, and Mr. Vinit Goenka, the former Spokesperson for the BJP Delhi. Over at the International Online Committee, Dr. Dary Dacanay, the Director of Academics at St. Patrick's School in the Philippines, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, alongside Col. Vivek Chauhan, a Senior Management and Programme Analyst with the UN Peacekeeping Mission, and Major General Jai Shankar Menon VSM, who served as the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the UN Disengagement Officer Force presided over the event as Guests Speakers. In the Indian committee UNCSTD, the Best Delegate award was clinched by Aishee Majumder, Kolkata, High Commendations positions were bagged by Sayanabha Chandra and Saanvi Rungta, Kolkata, Special Mentions rewards were secured by Manish Reddy and Naba Fatima, Telangana and Anvi Bhojnagarwala, Kolkata, and Best Position Paper position was won by Kritik Chanandra, Telangana. In the International committee UNDRR the Best Delegate award was clinched by Summer Locanlale, Philippines, High Commendations positions were bagged by Nusrat Jahan Khan, Bangladesh and Siwan Bayutas, Philippines Special Mentions rewards were secured by Sakibul Hasan Ripon and Jisan Al Mahmud, Bangladesh and Marian Angela Mesina, Philippines. The Chief Guest for the Closing Ceremony of the two-day mega event was Mr Deepak Vohra, the special advisor to the Prime Minister of South Africa. Major. Mohd. Ali Shah was the Guest of Honour who is one of the most sought after international TedEx speakers. The occasion was blessed with the gracious presence of Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, BBGS and Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation, BBGS With the diya ligting, the august gathering was mesmerized with the rendition of a beautiful English song ‘Another head hangs…..’. The ceremony rewound each phase of the event and once again made everyone experience the crest of deliberations and negotiations through the snapshot ‘Montage’. A group dance performance on "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" left the spectators spellbound which conveyed the message of global harmony and once again reminded us of our interconnectedness and shared humanity. The result of the conference was declared and the achievers were felicitated by Vice Caiman sir, Deputy Director and honoured guests. The Outstanding School Delegation Award was bagged by DAV 49 Gurugram Gurugram and the Best School Delegation Award was clinched by DPS 45. The event was a profoundly enriching experience for all the attendees, as they shared innovative ideas and wholeheartedly embraced their true passions, effectively paving the way for a halcyon era filled with hope and optimism. The event exemplified the school's dedicated commitment to finding tangible solutions and crafting strategies on sustainability of material and spiritual values for a concrete place where the environment, the economy, culture and the spirit live together. Mental health is an integral part of overall wellbeing. Celebrating Mental Health Day highlights the interconnection of physical and mental well-being, promoting a holistic approach to health. World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of it.

World Mental Health Day 2023 provided a chance for individuals and communities to ardently contribute to the theme, "Mental Health is a Universal Human Right," fostering understanding, awareness, and initiatives aimed at safeguarding and enhancing everyone’s mental well-being as an inherent human entitlement.

To sensitize the students on the importance of mental wellbeing, the school celebrated "World Mental Health Day under the aegis of the Health" Wellness Programme spearheaded by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. Ma’am is an avid advocate of the socio-emotional well-being of children. Under the inspirational leadership of Ma’am, the Health & Wellness Team organized activities tailored for the students of Middle and Senior Wing, aiming to raise awareness about the significance of mental well-being.

The Middle Wing students were thoroughly engrossed in ‘Creating Positive Self-Affirmation Badges for Mental Health Day to ‘Promote Self-Esteem And Mental Well-Being.’ Students were encouraged to think about phrases that made them feel confident and happy. They were asked to choose a positive self-affirmation personifying their unique qualities and put it on their badge.

Dr. Alka praised the dedication of both students and teachers for creating awareness and emphasizing the importance of sound mental health in maintaining our overall health. Ma’am encouraged all the members to be mindful of their mental health and acquire effective methods for overall growth.

YOGA SESSION (VI-VIII)

Blue Bells Model School organized a rejuvenating three-day Yoga session for its middle wing students from September 27th to 29th, 2023. Recognizing the immense benefits of Yoga, the school aimed to promote better health and mental well-being among its students. The sessions were meticulously planned, catering to different grades each day. Grade 7 students experienced the calming effects of Yoga on the first day, followed by Grade 6 on the second, and Grade 8 on the third day.

During the sessions, students were introduced to various Yoga postures such as Tadasana, Padhastasana, Sashankasana, Bhadrasana, Naukasana, and Brahmani Pranayama, among others. These asanas were carefully selected for their effectiveness in releasing stress and promoting physical and mental balance. The students not only learned the techniques but also understood the associated benefits, which ranged from improved flexibility to enhanced focus and concentration. Each session concluded with the spiritual chanting of Aum, creating a serene atmosphere that resonated with inner peace and tranquillity. The event not only instilled in students the importance of holistic well-being but also provided them with practical tools to manage stress and maintain a healthy body and mind.

BLUE NUDGE AMBASSADOR

Blue Nudge intends to integrate waste management, sustainability and academic curriculum and in a commendable initiative it awarded badges to the  selected students who will be the Blue Nudge Ambassadors for the school. The ceremony, held recently, celebrated these students for their dedication and leadership. These ambassadors will serve as inspiring role models, encouraging their peers to make thoughtful choices and contribute to a harmonious school community.

These ambassadors will actively engage in promoting a harmonious school community by organizing awareness campaigns, workshops, and activities that foster understanding and inclusivity

These Blue Nudge Ambassadors serve as beacons of positive behaviour, nurturing a school culture where empathy, understanding, and cooperation are not just values but a way of life.

CLEANLINESS CHALLENGE DRIVE

In adherence to our commitment towards maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, Blue Bells Model School successfully initiated a cleanliness Challenge Drive, Swachhta Pakhwada . Understanding that the responsibility of cleanliness lies with each one of us, the school embarked on this journey to instill good habits that will be sustained over time.

Under the vigilant supervision, our students actively participated in the cleanliness drive, ensuring that our classrooms and school premises were spotless. In addition to this, our students also undertook ‘Shramdaan’ , the commendable task of cleaning the school arena and the neighbouring Ram Park. Their dedication and hard work were evident as they diligently picked up litter, organized materials, and ensured the surroundings were free from waste.

To maintain transparency and encourage healthy competition, we displayed daily cleanliness positions. This motivated our students to consistently uphold the cleanliness standards set by the school.

We believe that these initiatives not only inculcate a sense of responsibility among our students but also foster a strong community spirit. The Cleanliness Challenge Drive has not only transformed our school environment but has also created awareness about the importance of cleanliness in our neighbourhood.

Together, we have taken a significant step towards a cleaner and healthier future for our school and community.

International Connect

International connections among schools play a pivotal role in shaping informed, culturally sensitive and globally aware individuals. By fostering these connections, Blue Bells Model School aims at shaping the leaders and innovators of a globally integrated future.

Keeping in sync with this ethos, the senior wing students of classes XI and XII participated in the International Connect hosted by Funlish Language School on October 6, 2023, via Google Meet. The topic of the meet was Pattern of Climate Change in your city.

The session witnessed the participation from the renowned schools of Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, Ooty, Jakarta and Lahore. The speakers from various schools showcased the Pattern of climate change in their respective cities via power point presentations. The presenters spoke at length about the significant and long-term alterations in the Earth's climate patterns primarily driven by human activities including the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, industrial processes and agriculture. These activities release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere leading to an enhanced greenhouse effect and global warming.

The healthy discussion was followed by a question answer session. The session ended on the unanimous thought of efforts to be made globally and locally to mitigate and adapt to these climate change impacts through sustainable development practices, better waste management, renewable energy adoption, efficient water use and public awareness campaigns.

It is imperative that schools prioritize and invest in initiatives that facilitate and nurture these international connections to prepare the youth for the challenges and opportunities of an interdependent world.

GRANDPARENTS’ DAY CELEBRATION

Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love.

Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. To show our love and affection and to honour them, Blue Bells Model School celebrated Grandparents Day and presented a vibrant and colourful show on the Theme: ‘Sanskaar’.

The programme began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp followed by a soulful Vandana. Power packed dance performance by students left everyone spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized. The event beheld the gracious presence of Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Ma’am addressed the audience and asserted the importance of having elderly people around us. Showcasing gratitude and to make the event more entertaining, a Ramp Walk and interesting Antakshari was conducted. Middle Wing In charge, Madam Anshu Mallika Kumar addressed the gathering and encouraged the students for putting up scintillating performances for their grandparents. The event was neatly woven, earning the praises of all the grandparents. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Primary Wing In charge, Ms Pallavi Sinha who expressed profound gratitude to the deeply loved grandparents and organizing committee.

The immense support and love received from the grandparents has helped the school move headway focussing on all the scholastic and co-scholastic areas without facing any hindrance in the student’s learning.

CBSE SKILL EXPO 2023

The Central Board of Education organized a significant CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival – 2023 on September 19th and 20th, 2023 which was held at the prestigious ICAR Auditorium. The summit included engaging panel discussions featuring keynote speakers and renowned educators from around the world. Additionally, it highlighted a Skill Expo featuring schools from across the country, where students had the chance to demonstrate their commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and innovative sustainability initiatives.

Himank Taneja, Class VIII B and Atishay Jain, Class IX A from Blue Bells Model School exhibited exceptional skills and creativity during their participation in the Skill Expo. They presented innovative projects that were not only well-received but also aligned with the principles of sustainability and the SDGs. The school displayed Terracotta AC and Landslide Mitigator under the theme Sustainability and Conservation of Environment and Future Tech respectively. Madam Nidhi Chhiber, CBSE Chairperson and Dr Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of HRD Govt. of India visited our stall and appreciated and encouraged our students for their innovative approach towards sustainability.

The CBSE Skill Expo and National Guidance Festival – 2023 was a resounding success, offering a platform for students to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and contribute to the discourse on education and sustainability.

The participation of students from Blue Bells Model School was a testament to the school's commitment to nurturing talent and promoting holistic education.

CUET WORKSHOP

CUET Aspirants Counseling Session at BBMS

The counseling session for CUET (Central University Entrance Test) aspirants, conducted by Mr. Aditya Jain, an alumnus of MDI, and Ms. Aanchal Bansal, an alumna of FMS on September 26, 2023, at Blue Bells Model School, brought numerous positive aspects to the forefront. The workshop provided valuable insights into CUET exam patterns, selection criteria, and subject-specific guidance, giving aspirants a clearer understanding of the test. Mr. Jain and Ms. Bansal's interactive approach fostered a comfortable learning environment, enabling students to ask questions freely. Their emphasis on effective study techniques and time management strategies proved invaluable, equipping students with the tools they need for successful CUET preparation. Overall, the session was a valuable resource for CUET aspirants.
