This powerful quote serves as a reminder of our deep connection to Mother Earth and the responsibility we share in protecting her.  Blue Bells Model School observed Earth Day with great enthusiasm through a series of engaging activities conducted in the Primary Wing. Grade 3 students made Earth Mosaic using paper and leaves, displaying their creativity and love for mother earth. Grade 4 students delivered an informative presentation on Energy efficiency guiding everyone how we can start saving energy at our home. Grade 5 took the initiative a step further by raising awareness about the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. Through their well-researched presentation, they showcased nine effective ways to lower our environmental impact, inspiring others to take action.

GREEN DAY CELEBRATION

World Earth Day

Blue Bells Model School enthusiastically celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April 2025 at Ram Park with active participation from the Middle Wing students. The event was held as part of Green Day, celebrated annually in loving memory of the Founder Chairperson, Late Shri B.D. Gulati ji.

The occasion was graced by Mr. Sadat Anwar and Ms. Neha from the Net Green Foundation, along with Mr. Chirag from Give Back to Gurugram Foundation. Members of the local community also joined the celebration. The programme began with a thought-provoking speech, setting the tone for environmental consciousness. This was followed by a powerful Nukkad Natak on “Conservation of Environment,” effectively highlighting the detrimental effects of pollution on air, water, land, and all living beings.

A key highlight was the Tree Plantation Drive, aiming to promote greenery within the neighbourhood and foster eco-responsibility among students. Adding a creative touch, the Primary Wing presented seed bombs to the guests and attendees, symbolising environmental hope and renewal. The Principal and esteemed guests shared their insights on the importance of Earth Day and Green Day, and applauded the students’ spirited participation and commitment to the cause.

Academic Award Ceremony ‘Felicitation’

Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, hosted its much-awaited Academic Award Ceremony ‘Felicitation’ on April 19, 2025, to celebrate the achievements of students from Grades III to IX and XI for the academic session 2024–25. The event served as a platform to acknowledge excellence in academics, outstanding performance, and 100% attendance, applauding students who exemplify perseverance and determination.

The ceremony began on a traditional note with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, accompanied by a soulful rendition of shlokas. Enthralling cultural performances, including a vibrant group dance and a melodious song, added warmth and colour to the celebration.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, extended heartfelt congratulations to the achievers and applauded their dedication and punctuality. She inspired students to stay committed to their goals and continue striving for excellence. Principal Ms. Alka Singh felicitated the awardees and appreciated the teaching faculty for their guidance and consistent efforts in shaping young minds.

The event was a beautiful tribute to hard work and a reminder that determination and dedication are the true paths to success.

CLASS ASSEMBLY: EARTH DAY

Earth Day is a global reminder of our shared responsibility to protect and preserve the environment. To mark this important occasion, students of Class V-C presented a thoughtful and inspiring assembly on Monday, April 21, 2025.

The assembly began with the regular features- school prayer, pledge, and school song followed by the thought for the day, vocabulary words, and news updates. The highlight of the assembly was a captivating skit titled “An Earth Day Carol”, where students portrayed how our actions impact the planet through scenes from the past, present, and future. The skit conveyed a powerful message on the urgent need to act responsibly and take care of Mother Earth.

The performance was followed by a lively and melodious Earth Day song that echoed the importance of sustainable living. The students pledged to keep the Earth clean and green and understood that even small steps can lead to big changes.

Primary Wing Leader, Ms. Kiran Rawat, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to be Earth warriors- conscious and caring individuals who contribute positively to the planet.

The class teacher Ms Rituraj addressed the gathering with heartfelt words of appreciation, commending the students for their sincere efforts and encouraging all to embrace eco-conscious practices in their everyday lives.

The assembly ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired to make every day an Earth Day.

SOLAR AMBASSADOR WORKSHOP

BBMS Empowers Young Solar Ambassadors through Hands-On Workshop

Blue Bells Model School successfully conducted the Solar Ambassador Workshop on 9th April 2025, in collaboration with the Energy Swaraj Foundation. This enriching initiative aimed to foster awareness and action towards sustainable energy among students and educators.

The workshop was led by Mr. Sachin, a distinguished resource person from the Energy Swaraj Foundation, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from 92 students and 10 teachers. Under the guidance of Ms. Alka Singh, Ms. Anshu Mallika, and SDG Coordinator Ms. Manisha Singh, each participant was provided with a solar kit to assemble a functional solar lamp. This hands-on activity not only imparted technical know-how but also instilled a strong sense of responsibility towards clean and renewable energy.

Upon successful completion of the assembly, all participants were formally recognized as Solar Ambassadors, symbolizing their commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions.

The event was further elevated by the presence of the FairGaze SDG team, who lent their support to the shared mission of advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This inspiring and impactful workshop served as a meaningful step toward nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious innovators dedicated to sustainable development and climate action.

Class Assembly: Baisakhi & Ambedkar Jayanti

"Gratitude is the foundation of happiness, and equality is the soul of justice."

With these timeless values, the students of Class V D conducted a special assembly on April 15, 2025 to celebrate Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti, blending culture with learning and festivity with reflection. The assembly began with the school prayer, pledge, school song, thought for the day, and news headlines, followed by a message introducing the day’s themes. Students shared the significance of Baisakhi—a harvest festival that reminds us to be grateful, hardworking, and rooted in tradition. The importance of Ambedkar Jayanti was also presented with reverence. Students paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, emphasizing his role in building the Indian Constitution and promoting equality, justice, and education. To add a cultural touch, students in traditional Punjabi attire performed a vibrant Baisakhi dance, spreading joy and energy.

The assembly concluded with inspiring words from Madam Kiran Rawat, highlighting the importance of these celebrations in shaping the values and cultural understanding of young learners. The assembly was not only informative and joyous but also instilled lasting values, leaving everyone inspired to honour both heritage and humanity in their daily lives. In the spirit of creativity and celebration, Class III students also participated in art and craft activity, where they joyfully created colourful paper Dhols. Class IV students showcased their creativity and enthusiasm by composing and presenting self-composed poems that beautifully captured the spirit of Baisakhi. Meanwhile, Class V students delivered thoughtful presentations on the valuable lessons they learned from the life and work of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR CLASSES VI - IX

Orientation Programme for classes VI- IX was held at Blue Bells Model School on April 5, 2025, with the aim of showcasing the vision, curriculum, and holistic development opportunities the school offers to its students.

A special highlight of the session was the introduction of the school's Health & Wellness Programme, which focuses on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of students. Parents were briefed on the various initiatives under this programme that promote a balanced and supportive learning environment.

Through interactive, hands-on activities, parents actively participated in their children's learning journey, gaining a deeper understanding of the concept of self-awareness. They also explored strategies and benefits related to self-awareness and emotional regulation, and learned how these would be the central themes for April. The session highlighted the integration of mindfulness practices twice daily—once in the morning and again after lunch.

The 'Know Yourself' segment captivated the parents, encouraging enthusiastic participation and reflection. The session proved to be an enriching and memorable experience, earning widespread appreciation.

Orientation Programme for Classes VI-IX

"When parents understand the school’s vision, they become essential partners in helping students achieve success." Education is a partnership, and orientation helps parents become active participants in the educational journey of their children. Clear and consistent communication with parents leads to positive results for students, parents, and teachers alike. To foster greater parental involvement in their child's development, the school organized an Orientation Programme for parents of classes VI-IX on April 5, 2025. The session provided valuable information about the teaching-learning process, equipping parents to actively contribute to their child's academic success and overall growth. Parents were provided with an overview of the school curriculum, which included updates on students' board results, the school's achievements in various educational areas, life skills training, and the code of conduct. The examination criteria for the academic session were also discussed. Furthermore, parents were informed about the introduction of innovative teaching methods, along with the integration of vocational education and skill-based clubs and subjects. They were also briefed on the use of ICT and the launch of the Metaverse 360 VR program for classes VI-VIII. To foster a holistic approach to education, the Health and Wellness Programme engaged parents in activities that highlighted the significance of physical and mental well-being, under the visionary mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health & Wellness, BBGS. Parents explored key initiatives of the Health and Wellness Programme and participated in an experiential session to develop essential skills for emotional regulation, self-awareness, and effective decision-making. To extend this learning, parents received a handout, "Mind Matters" as a practical guide to thought, feeling and behaviour cycle, highlighting the impact of mindful parenting on a child’s well-being. The parents were informed about the initiatives taken by the Learning and Development Cell to enhance students' academic progress. This comprehensive orientation session provided them with a better understanding of the school’s curriculum strategy, ensuring their children have a fulfilling educational journey. The program emphasized the vital role of collaboration between parents and teachers in nurturing a child's growth, helping them develop the self-assurance and determination to overcome any obstacle in life.

PRIMARY WING ASTRONOMY SESSION

“Astronomy is not only about looking up; it’s about expanding our vision of the universe.” An engaging and enlightening Astronomy Club Orientation Session was conducted on April 4, 2025, for students of Classes III to V in JD Hall led by a resource person from Navars Edutech. The session aimed to spark curiosity, expand young minds, and introduce students to the wonders of the cosmos. The session commenced with an interactive Q&A, stimulating curiosity and assessing students' knowledge about space. This was followed by an insightful discussion on the significance of astronomy in daily life. The resource person unveiled an exciting lineup of activities, including Be an Astronaut for a Day, Space Champ, and Junior Galileo, designed to foster hands-on learning and scientific exploration. A moment of immense pride for the school was the recognition of students who excelled in astronomy, as they were awarded gold medals in the NASO Olympiad. Their outstanding achievement highlights their dedication and passion for space science. The session ignited a sense of wonder, with many students expressing a keen interest in delving deeper into astronomy. Their enthusiastic participation reflected their eagerness to explore the universe beyond our blue planet. Overall, it was an inspiring and enriching experience, leaving students motivated to embark on their journey of cosmic discovery.

Partnering For Progress: Orientation Day

Blue Bells Model School organized an engaging and insightful Orientation Day for parents of students transitioning to Grades X and XII on March 29, 2025. A notable event segment was an interactive session titled ‘Mind Matters: Encourage Positive Thinking’, led by Ms. Chetna Vashisht, Associate Psychologist from My Peegu, under the aegis of the Health & Wellness Programme. The session aimed to empower parents with strategies to foster self-esteem, emotional well-being, and long-term success in children. The session provided parents with strategies to support their children’s emotional well-being and resilience, promoting a deeper connection between academic success and mental health.
