PEER EDUCATORS’ INTRODUCTORY SESSION

We, at Blue Bells believe that in order to provide a wholesome education to children we must nurture in them the interconnected dimensions of values, life skills and wellness. Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools structured the Health &Wellness Programme for Blue Bells Public School with the strong vision of equipping the students with knowledge and awareness of their Health and Wellbeing thus ensuring a strong foundation of their childhood.

The Health & Wellness Team launched its own Peer Educator Programme in the year 2015 which consists of a Health & Wellness Ambassador from Class XII, a Peer Mentor from Class XI and 14 Peer Educators from Classes VI to X along with a Junior Health & Wellness Ambassador from the Primary Wing. These students are an integral part of the Student Council and are selected through a well-planned process. They play an active role by working as a bridge between mentors and pupils and also conduct especially designed sessions for the students along with Counsellors and Life Skills Facilitators. In furtherance of the vision ,  the Peer Educators  for the Session 2022-23 were selected through a  structured  procedure comprising the Written Round, JAM Session, Team Building Activities and Personal Interview with Dr. Alka.

With the aim of giving an insight into the Health & Wellness Programme, an Introductory Session for newly elected Peer Educators of Blue Bells Model School was planned & conducted by Ashutosh Raghav, Health and Wellness Ambassador and Harshita Garg, the Peer Mentor on July 28, 2022. The students were trained by Ms. Manisha Gupta, Ms. Prerna Karkhanis and Ms. Komal Kathuria under the able guidance of our mentor Dr. Saxena.  The session offered a new learning experience to all the participants.

Dr. Alka apprised them about Do’s and Don’ts to be kept in mind while performing the duties of a Peer Educator. She elaborated about the roles & responsibilities of Peer Educators. Speaking on the occasion, Ma’am briefed them about their take away from the session and motivated them for achieving their goals. She wished them luck for their future endeavours.

The Peer Educators participated enthusiastically in all activities & discussions. At the end of the session they were apprised about their first task as Peer Educators.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON DENGUE PREVENTION

We at Blue Bells believe that children are the harbingers of a better tomorrow. With the mission to empower our young scholars with the right information and awareness regarding different issues related to health & wellness, the Health & Wellness Team under the mentorship Dr Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS organizes and conducts various informative sessions as a part of Peer Educator Programme.

In sync with the same vision, special assemblies were organized, wing wise for the students of Classes III-XII from August 25 to August 30, 2022, to sensitize them about the ways to combat the prevalent disease Dengue and stay safe during Monsoon season.

Information regarding the prevention of the disease, the breeding conditions of the mosquitoes, and steps that could be taken to reduce the risk of acquiring the disease were shared with the help of a Power Point presentation.  At the end of the sessions, a quiz was conducted to check students understanding about the topic. Students responded to the questions with enthusiasm and demonstrated a sound understanding of the content.

Primary Wing assembly presented by Junior Health & Wellness Ambassador Ayana Singh from Class V, Peer educators Dhanvi Bajoriya, Class VI B, Charvi Gupta, Class VI C, Eeshika Gupta, VI D, Jivitesh, Class VII B, Atharva Goyal, Class VII C and Gauri Gokul, Class VII D, under the guidance of the Health & Wellness Team.  Dr. Sanjay Bhatt, the School Doctor, briefed the students on how to stay safe from different Monsoon related diseases.

In addition to spreading awareness through the assemblies, posters on Dengue Awareness and Tips for Monsoon season, have been put across all strategic locations of the school. The sessions were interactive and supported in promoting a safer and healthier environment for the society.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”

To commemorate the birth of the second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ,5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable.

The teacher’s Day with the theme ‘Deeksha’ was organized with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram. A warm welcome with a colourful badge of ‘Deeksha’ was a pleasant surprise for all the teachers. The students planned many spectacles for the day and showcased song and dance performances on peppy numbers. Ramp walk by the teachers was a mega cynosure. Musical Chair and fun – filled basketball and volleyball Teachers versus Students reminded the teachers of their school days and made them nostalgic. All the teachers applauded overwhelming zeal and enthusiasm of the students for making such a glorious event to cherish for. Click here to view photographs.

Vigyantram

Jawaharlal Nehru in The Discovery of India, writes, “Scientific temper is a way of life — an individual and social process of thinking and acting which uses a scientific method which may include questioning, observing reality, testing, hypothesizing, analyzing and communicating.” With the same vision in mind, Blue Bells Model School organized a three-day workshop of Vigynatram from 26^th - 29^th August 2022 for students of classes VI-XII. The event was graced by Reverend Dr Sanjay Pal, a very senior scientist working for the largest premier R & D organisation of the country, DRDO, Defence Research and Development Organisation of India.

Vigyantram is a National Level Championship with a series of Drone Making and App Development Workshops. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shubahm Gupta, Event Head- Vigyantaram.

A total of 55 students with all scientific fervour learnt two new technologies. The students created drones using the kits provided by Vigyantaram. Different types of drones, their capacities, importance & use of various parts were explained. The prototypes were prepared by students and the joyous students flew the drones in the ground. In App Development, students created an app using Android Studio. Basic concepts of Java were explained to them. Students created the interface of the app along with the coding to make it functional.

Overall, the workshop was very informative and interesting. The students enthusiastically participated to learn new concepts which also enhanced team spirit while working in groups. It was an interactive and fruitful workshop.

Vigyantram

Genuflections and Regards to Revered Dr Sanjay Pal Sir BBMS brims with scientific temper! By providing students with meaningful and connected learning experiences, Blue Bells Model School hosted Vigyantram – a National Level Championship with a series of technical workshops in association with Enactus, IIT Delhi from 26-29 August 2022 in the school premises.

The event was graced by Reverend Dr Sanjay Pal, a very senior scientist working for the largest premier R & D organisation of the country, DRDO, Defence Research and Development Organisation of India. Honourable Sir has close -knit association with renowned scientists including APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr V K Aatre, Dr V K Saraswat and present chief DRDO Dr G. Satheesh Reddy. In pursuit of sharing professional experience for academic benefits of the students, the philanthropist, Dr Sanjay Pal Sir has offered to volunteer scientific and technical services to the institution. The school will be honoured to receive his professional experience, technical talks and career guidance in due course of time.

Expressing her delight, Ms Alka Singh, Principal said that close association with such stalwarts would help develop exemplary scientific temperament amongst our children.

COMM-KSHETRA 2.0 2022- CONTEST FOR THE BEST!

Knowledge has no boundaries and education gained in a lifetime is what helps us to reach our objectives, and grooms us for circumstances, situations and approaches. In pursuance of the vision to churn out newfangled entrepreneurs and knowledgeable leaders who would whole heartedly contribute for an opulent society, the Commerce Department of Blue Bells Model School hosted a coruscating Inter School Commerce Fest - “Comm-Kshetra 2.0 2022- Contest for the Best!” on August 26 & 27, 2022 on a digital platform. The competition thrived to enhance the commercial acumen of individuals from diverse disciplines through various competitions that formed a central part of this two-day event.

The event was lit up by the illuminating presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, BBGS and Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovation), BBGS. The panel of judges was studded with experts excelling in different realms of Commerce -Mr. Akhil; the Co-Founder at Questt (Homework App) & Co Founder of nvol.in, Mr yash Chhabra ,Music Composer , Ms Anjali ,Senior Coordinator of VittClub- A Financial Literacy Cell of SRCC,New Delhi , Ms. Anshi Agarwal and Tanya Gupta (Co-Ordinator of Vittclub-A Vittshala of Financial Literacy Cell and Mr. Chaitanya Koti (Operation Head).

The event witnessed the participation of 400 students from 42 renowned schools of India. The young budding scholars competed with all their knowledge and might in the Online event. An array of competitions viz Plan-o-Vate (Business Plan), Digi- Mark (Digital Marketing),Bizz Brains ( Business Quiz),Rap-Verse(Lyrical Insight), Tactic-Comic (Comic Strip) and Nitikaar (Policy Makers) made the Gen Z boggle their minds, think out of the box and showcase their talents.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati commended the school team for a spectacular presentation and worthwhile concept. She further stated that talent, determination, motivation and attitude will make the Blue Bellians productive and progressive. Madam Soumya Gulati lauded the efforts of the school team and asked the students to live a purposeful life and explore the hidden talent.

The judges were spellbound with the level of the competition and appreciated the efforts of the school and all the participants. The result of the competition was declared in the Closing Ceremony on August 27, 2022.

The students and teachers of the school participated with full zest and zeal to make the mega event grab all the success thereby enhancing the grandeur of the contest. The event indeed proved to be a successful endeavour bringing the Blue Bells family under one beautiful umbrella and providing a grand platform to the students to showcase their talent and achievements thereby upgrading the prestige of the institution

With environmental challenges popping up faster than expected, children should be exposed to environmental awareness from an early age. Keeping in mind, we at Blue Bells Model School?collaborated one more time with Litter@sea mission which brings together educators and students from across the world to fight the Plastic Pollution crisis, especially in the ocean. The aim of the school team?comprised of Eco Warriors, SDG Club Members and Design Club was?to participate in the activities related to environment conservation following SDGs Goals.

On August 17,2022 students had?an enriching virtual session with Manuela Correia from Portugal, on the TOPIC- The Global Plastic Cleanup Brigade!

The session?created awareness?amongst?the students to the problem that the excessive use of plastic poses to our oceans, as well as share some little actions that we?could?all do to help fight it back. Students from Grade V-X participated in the session enthusiastically and discussed various ways by which they at their school, home and community are trying to cut on plastic.

Independence Day Celebration

Patriotism is recognition of that wondrous common essence in our greater surroundings -- our school, team, city, state, our immediate society --

As India stepped into the 76th year of its independence, Blue Bells Model School celebrated the grand occasion with a difference. The students from classes VI to IX were full of sheer energy and enthusiasm. The students geared up in their homes, attired in traditional dresses and reached the venue, Nakhrola Stadium, Nakhrola Road, Gurgaon with a lot of enthusiasm on 15 August 2022 and presented a spectacular dance performance.

The occasion was graced by Gurgaon Commissioner of Police, Revered Ms Kala Ramchandran, Deputy Commissioner, Shri Nishant Kumar Yadav , Assistant Deputy Commissioner , Shri Vishram Kumar Meena and Shri Kamal Gupta , Minister of Urban Development and Housing Government of Haryana . The students and teachers alike stepped forward enthusiastically, ensuring a dazzling display of creativity and talent, leaving all entertained and infused with pride. The Principal, Ms Alka Singh appreciated the efforts of all the students and teachers in putting together a magnificent show.

HAR GHAR TIRANGA WALKATHON

On the occasion of 76th Independence Day , Blue Bells Model School organized Har Ghar Tiranga Walkathon on August 13, 2022 to inculcate a spirit of nationalism amongst the students.The event was flagged off from the school ground by Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school and spanned a radius of about 2kilometres from the school premises. All the staff members along with the Principal,100 NCC cadets and 100 students participated in the ‘Walkathon’ spreading the message of their immense devotion towards their motherland, India. During the campaign, patriotic songs and slogans rekindled the feeling of the freedom struggle, sacrifices of the martyrs and India's glorious history.

76TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

‘Independence is a blessing which needs to be safeguarded and preserved and that is possible only when we work in unison overshadowing any impediment on the way.’

May the glory of Independence Day be with us forever. To live in peace and harmony, united and strong, we must have one nation, one flag. Thousands laid down their lives so that India becomes shacklefree and we Indians, salute their absolute commitment, loyalty and sacrifice. With this feeling of nationalism, Blue Bells Model School celebrated 76th Independence Day on 12th August, 2022 with a lot of zeal and allegiance for the country. The honoured guests of the pious occasion were Mr.Ashish Gulati,Vice Chairman BBGS, Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academics, Development and Innovation BBGS, Gen. G.D. Bakshi SM, VSM and Shri Dharam Sagar, President RWA Sec.4, Gurugram. Gen. G.D. Bakshi hoisted the national flag with a fervour of patriotism in his heart. The NCC cadets and House Captains marched elegantly creating the perfect ambience for the grand celebration along with the patriotic song, ‘Galat mat kadam uthaao…’

Vanya Dahiya, the English Literary Secretary welcomed all the distinguished guests followed by the formal welcome of the august gathering by Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school. The Independence Day celebration got its momentum with an awakening call to the youth of the country which was commendably presented by Mishty Kaushik, the Humanities Wizard through her speech.The astounding instrumental rendition by the school students won everybody’s heart.The presentation of the group song ‘Hum bharat ke wasi Bharat hummara hai…’by the school singers brought forth their immense devotion towards their motherland, India. The energetic students of Primary and Middle Wing exhibited a fascinating mass yoga and martial art. To spread the message of unity and rich diverse culture of India, the dancers of the school presented dance forms of different Indian states and enchanted the spectators. The honoured guest for the day Gen. G.D. Bakshi SM, VSM who is a retired Indian Army Officer appreciated students’ earnest efforts in showing deep regards for their country.Mr. Ashish Gulati and Ms. Soumya Gulati congratulated students for organizing a spellbinding show on the occasion of Independence The day’s celebration came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by Prassiddhi Sachdeva, the School Ambassador.
