The secret of sound education is to let pupils learn themselves, instead of instructing them by driving knowledge into them on a stereotyped system. In sync with this, Three Days Scouts and Guides Camp was organised by Blue Bells Model School.

STAGE –O- RAMA Day 2

….celebrating theatre that is enriching, engaging ,experimental and classic.

From epic re-tellings to powerful everyday narratives, the plays on 10 August 2022 were essentially human stories, making us laugh and cry at the same time. Day-02 witnessed English plays ‘Antony and Cleopatra’ and ‘Macbeth’while Hindi plays depicting ‘Satyug’ and ‘Dwapar Yug’ left the audience spellbound. The eminent jury members, Mr. Mohan Kant Sharma, a celebrated and well-known film actor, Major Mohammad Ali Shah, a renowned TEDX Motivational Speaker and an actor, Ms Gouri , Artistic Director of a leading theatre company, Ms Shefali Chopra, a prominent TEDX Speaker and a Storyteller, Ms Neha Sarkar and Mr Pratham Sharma, Alumni of BBMS graced the occasion. The curtain raiser by Dishita invoked the curiosity of the audience resulting in immersed participation till the end of the event.

The desperate eyes, irregular heartbeats and anxious eyes awaited the result. In a glitzy ceremony, Reverend Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools ,Ms Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation ,Blue Bells Group of Schools with eminent jury members gave away the prizes. Mother Teresa House bagged the Best English Play Award while the Best Hindi Play Award was bagged Indira Gandhi House .The coveted Best Actor and Actress in English Play were Kartikey and Krisha & Vidushi Gaur while in Hindi Play were Yash Gupta and Riya Aggarwal .The best male debut in English Play and Hindi Play were Ayush Singh and Gursimar while the best female debut in English and Hindi Play were Mishty and Milli Kushwah . Best performance by an actor and actress in a supporting role in English Play went to Daksh Bhatia and Riddhi Sinha while in Hindi Play the award went to Aryaveer Bagga and Lochan. Best Directors for English and Hindi Play were Aryan Bachhal and Molli Sharma.

Ms Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of School addressed the students and expressed that through theatre students can witness a range of possible strategies being played out and can use critical thinking to evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies and apply them to their own lives. The adrenalin-fuelled two days jaunt was indeed a delightful and thrilling experience for all the students, management, jury and faculty members.

STAGE –O- RAMA Day 1

“The power of art can break the shackles that bind and divide human beings”. Theatre provides a ‘cognitive playground’ in which students can experiment with different choices and vicariously experience the consequences of their own and others’ behaviours in a safe environment. To develop empathy from the experiences of others and explore diverse perspectives, the school organized an Inter-House Theatre Fest, Stage –O- Rama on August 9and 10, 2022. The two days Theatre Fest was conceived and curated by Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools.

The event commenced with diya lighting, shlok recital and school song “ Blue Bells ki Shaan” committing to treading the way to freedom and truth, to doing our best and to making a difference in the world. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school extended a hearty welcome to the august gathering with an underlying message that the theatre world provides an opportunity for independent thinking, cooperation, for a healthy release of emotion and to build social awareness. The stunning theatrical rendition of Priyanshu was a highly applauded curtain raiser for the mega event. He played the role of Lord Krishna from Mahabharata depicting the fact that no battle will ever take place if rage turns into compassion. No side will lose precious lives if warmongers stop taking humanity for granted and no family will never lose their loved ones if people resort to peace over war.

An intense and riveting performance -the set, back projections and mastery of the cast showed brilliant passion and dedication towards learning the art. Different houses on Day-01, August 09, 2022staged both Hindi and English plays exhibiting their intrinsic proficiency of theatrical skills. The students’ zeal in playing various roles in English plays ‘Othello’ and ‘Tempest’ and Hindi plays depicting ‘ Treta’ and ‘ Dwapar’ were noteworthy and spectacular. Students deftly played an important part starting from selecting and editing the scripts, directing the plays and making the videos by lending light and sound effects. The day ended with a lot of promises for the next day.

METAMORPHOSIS - HEALTH & WELLNESS FIESTA, AN INTER-SCHOOL MEGA LIFE SKILLS EVENT HOSTED BY BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL, SECTOR 4, GURUGRAM

We, at Blue Bells, believe that in order to provide wholesome education to children we must nurture in them the interconnected dimensions of wellness. With the strong vision of equipping the students with knowledge and awareness of their Health & well-being ton ensure a strong foundation for their life; a workshop as a part of our annual feature ‘Metamorphosis-Health & Wellness Fiesta, An Inter School Mega Life Skills Event’ was organized on the Topic: ‘Draw the line: Stand up to Bullying’ for students of Classes IX to XII on August 05, 2022. The invigorating and enriching workshop was conducted by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools, who has been the guiding force behind the concept, planning, and concretization of the event into a beautiful reality.

Ms. Alka Singh , Principal , Blue Bells Model School, accorded a formal welcome to the august gathering. Armaan Malik and Arshiya , Peer Educators from Class X donned the cap of Master of Ceremony. The Workshop began with the auspicious lighting of the diya followed by a motivational song and dance. Ashutosh Raghav, Health & Wellness Ambassador of the school presented the Health & Wellness updates along with the indigenous initiatives of the Programme.

In the workshop, Dr. Alka laid stress on the adverse impacts of bullying on a child’s personal, social, emotional as well as interpersonal functioning. Her inspiring words reached out to the participating students with a rationale to equip them to deal with the challenges posed by bullying in or outside the school premises. The interactive session was attended by more than 100 students from the reputed institutions of Gurgaon. Through this Workshop, the objective of the Health and Wellness Team to support students to understand, identify types of Bullying along with learning different ways to deal with this menace.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, revered Director, BBGS, emphasized on the importance of Life Skills in holistic development of the personality and extended her felicitations to Dr. Alka and her team for conducting the session on such a sensitive topic effectively. Ma’am also congratulated the school team for organizing the event successfully.

FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOP

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

CBSE has taken an initiative to sensitize teachers across the country on basics of Financial Literacy and use of Digital Tools that are relevant in the current scenario. In accord with the same, Blue Bells Model School, Sector 04 Gurugram conducted a workshop for the teachers on 28 July 2022 under the flagship of very revered and inspiring Ms Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools. Around 150 teachers from reputed institutions of the district attended the workshop .

Ms Sunita Dalal , CBSE Resource person and Chartered Accountant by profession briefed about financial challenges in our day to day life. In this session focus was to create awareness about basic financial planning, how to avoid falling prey to phishing and cyber frauds etc. She gave the educators an insight into managing their finances effectively and investing in ways and instruments which will make their money grow. Terms like inflation, types of funds, return on investments were explained in detail.

The response to this workshop was very positive and the educators felt financially enlightened after this session.

Middle Wing Assembly - A Tribute to the Martyrs

"Kargil is not a story of just winning, it’s a story of pain with pride.”

The students of Class VIII C paid homage and respect to the martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting for India during the Kargil War. The assembly began with regular features highlighting the fact that Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 26 July. The day is celebrated to mark India's victory against Pakistan in Kargil war 1999. This year, marks the 22nd anniversary of India's victory in Kargil War. The operation was known as Operation Vijay. It lasted for around 60 days and came to an end on 26 July 1999. The students delivered a speech to enlighten the audience about the day, performed a street play voicing the sacrifice of the martyrs, a video showcasing why Kargil Diwas is commemorated and inspiring messages from the Armed Force Officers instilled the spirit of patriotism in the young hearts. When the students gave their musical performance the entire Assembly Hall reverberated with the symphony of ‘Saare Jahan se Achcha, Hindustan Hamara!’ The Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, addressed the assembly and stirred the feeling of patriotism in the students by asking them to be active and involved citizens as that is the best way to support our nation and keep it strong.

A VISIT TO PEARL ACADEMY ; LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Opportunities don’t happen, you create them.

Nurturing the next generation of creative change-makers, Blue Bells Model School provides ample opportunities to the learners. Studying at cutting-edge labs ensuring practical exposure to the fashion industry, the students went to Pearl Academy of Fashion, Vasant Kunj to witness the grand convergence of Technology and creativity on 21 July 2022 through Fashion Show and exhibition.

“Transcending their knowledge and learning beyond the classroom, the students had hands-on experience,” said the mentor, Ms Mona Sharma. The visit was organized to give a catalytic boost to the collaborative and competitive spirit among the students pursuing Fashion Designing as a subject.

Design Fair

Design Fair has been an integral part of Middle Wing Academic Plan for three consecutive years. Each year witnesses an array of exhibits pertaining to different ideas. Past two years students had been presenting their ideas virtually. This year the students were filled with enthusiasm, zeal and exuberance, they created separate ‘Incubation Cells’ to display their work. The young scientists, brain-writers, and designers of Middle Wing hosted the event - 'Future Play' -The Design Fair which provided a platform to support young innovators and entrepreneurs in order to design products and services with real social impact. Different projects and models that captured the attention of the guests were – 3D Projector, Fuel Efficient Vehicle, Eco-friendly Terracotta Air Conditioner, Sensor Tap, Air Purifier, Sign Language Converter, and Automatic Waste Segregation Bin. The event was open to the parents and other students as well. There were around 150 projects which were witnessed by around 500 visitors. The Design Fair was their innovation playground, the narratives were choreographed with the heart and soul of students which transformed from coarse to confidence, with the mentors’ motivation and guidance. Students had started working pre-vacation, teamed-coordinated during summer vacation and fine-tuned the projects after school reopening. Subject domains became undefined as the only theme which bound the complete wing was innovation, design and creativity. The school believes that dedication, hard work, creativity and cognitive skill set are all that students require to unleash their full potential and become ready for the future. The delighted parents were highly astounded to watch the bubbling and confident performance of their wards. The Director, Madam Saroj Suman Gulati, was enthralled to see the overwhelming presentation of each and every student.
