E-Cell Workshop

Unicorn, the E-Cell of the school was launched on 3^rd April 2022 with the vision  to develop a hub for the students to explore the best entrepreneurial and professional talent on the path of becoming entrepreneurs. In sync with the same,  an interactive workshop was organized by Unicorn , the E-cell of our school on 17th October 2022 in the school premises for Classes XI and XII Commerce.

The resource person, Mr. Varun Aggarwal, an author, consultant, corporate trainer, a multi-skilled professional with experience in academics, corporate and administration fields briefed the students about the financial planning and enhanced their financial knowledge.

Overall, it was a rich learning experience.

Blue Bells International Model United Nation 2022, Chapter 7 Day-2

‘Education helps one get exposure to new ideas and concepts that one can use to appreciate and improve the world around us and the world within us.’

‘BBIMUN Second Day’ offered the most worthwhile platform to the young ambassadors of sustainability wherein they were engaged in dynamic debates and vigorous brainstorming on issues parting to environment, education, empowerment, gender equality and so on. The event indeed endeavoured to forge a replica of the United Nations and involved participants in mind-boggling agendas.

The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was Mr. Mani Ram Sharma, Director Sainik & Ardh Sainik Welfare, Haryana and Special Secretary to Government, Haryana. The Guests of honour for the day were Capt. Indu Bokan, District Education Officer Gurugram ,Mr. Vishnu Chetani, a Member of National Council BJP and Ex. District President, BJP Sikar, Rajasthan, Ms . Seema Pahuja, Councillor, Ward no. 15 and Major. Mohommad Ali Shah, the International Tedx Speaker.The ceremony was also graced by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS and Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman BBGS and Ms Soumya Gulati , Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation BBGS .In the online event the Chief Guest was Ms. Corina Sujdea, an activist of Human Rights and a Peace Ambassador for Romania and Dr. Dary Dacanay, Director for Academics in St. Patrick School of Quezon City, Philippines was the Guest of Honour.

The closing ceremony commenced with the diya lighting followed by a marvellous musical rendition and group dance which set the stage vibrant and pulsating. To rewind and relive the pleasant memories oftwo-day deliberations and negotiations, the Cyber Wizards of the school Priyanshu Singh and Giri Gupta showcased a snapshot presentation which enthralled all the members, teachers and dignitaries. Student members of various committees were congratulated with Best Journalist, Best Caricaturist, Best Photographer, Special Mention, High Commendation, Best Delegate and Best Position Papers Award. Secretary General Prassiddhi Sachdeva presented the report of two days proceeding emphasising on the fact that outstanding collaboration of students and teachers made BBIMUN a creditable mega inter-school event. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal of the school wholeheartedly appreciated the school organising team and participants from across the world. The memorable and noteworthy event concluded with the vote of thanks by Krisha Gupta, the Deputy Secretary General, of BBIMUN.

Blue Bells International Model United Nation 2022, Chapter 7

‘An opportunity to create wide networks and connections with people all around the world.’

Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram organized BBIMUN for students across the globe  to offer a befitting platform to simulate co-operation diplomacy and refine skill sets of young delegates to take on global challenges on 8^th and 9^th October 2022. The theme of the two -day mega event was ‘Sustainability & Inclusion for a Resilient World’. With more than 600 delegates, the event transcended the physical boundaries of nations and along with representatives from Delhi NCR who took part in the offline event, student representatives from Philippines, Switzerland, Vietnam, Macedonia & Malawi wholeheartedly participated in the online event.

Day 1 commenced with a grand opening ceremony with Captain Abhumanyu, a former soldier, award-winning newspaper founder editor, entrepreneur and educationist as a Chief Guest and Mr Mohammed Ali Shah, an internationally acclaimed Tedx speaker, defence expert, analyst, debate panellist as Guest of Honour. The event was also graced by Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Charman BBGS and Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation BBGS.All the distinguished guests flagged off the event by offering their salutations at the knotted gun, the UN symbol of non-violence followed by diya lighting with the accompaniment of shloka recital. Principal Ms. Alka Singh accorded a formal welcome to all the dignitaries by stating that the young delegates are the future leaders of the world.A beautiful group dance presentation portraying  the idea of sustainability and inclusiveness for a resilient world mesmerised the august gathering.Executive Board of UNGA, UNHRC, ICJ, UNSC, RAW, LOK SABHA, UNW, UNEA, STAKEHOLDERS MEET, UNDP, IP and UNEP and distinguished guests were felicitated with  a token of reverence by the Vice Chairman.After the inspirational address of Capt. Abhimanyu and Maj. Mohammad, Mr. Ashish Gulati declared the event Blue Bells International Model United Nation 2022, Chapter 7 open.

The online international committee UNDP witnessed an enthusiastic participation of students from across the world. The event was graced by Dr. Jagannadha Pawan Tamvada as the Chief Guest.He is an Associate Professor at the Southampton Business School, specialising in interdisciplinary research in entrepreneurship, strategy and sustainability. Ms.Sapna Sukul, Director of Sparsh NGO, an institution for Special Needs Education and founder of Petals World School, was the Guest of Honour.Dr. Tamvada wholeheartedly appreciated the organizing committee and the detegates for their commendable participation and urged  the students to take the charge of our beautiful planet through a marvellous powerpoint presentation on sustainable development goals and inclusive development.

The objective of the school through this educative and debatable platform on SDGs was to empower students of classes VIII to XII to act as torch-bearers to  protect our Earth, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Deliberation on human rights, Adawan Referendum themes, Reforms in Education Sector, Gender Equality, Women Empowerment, Environmental Crisis etc. paved a way to the young delegates to ponder earnestly, resolve issues and bring national and international peace.The performance of the eighteen committees was highly commendable. Day 1 BBIMUN was indeed committed to democratizing this popular academic program, keeping the focus squarely on mentorship, discussion, collaboration and high academic standards.

Grandparents' Day

‘Grandparent is one who strengthens you with prayer, blesses you with love & encourages you with hope.’ 

Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close at heart. To show our love and affection and to honour them Blue Bells Model School, Primary Wing celebrated Grandparents Day and presented a vibrant and colourful show on the Theme: ‘Sanskar’. The programme began with the auspicious ‘Lighting of the Lamp’ and was followed by a soulful Vandana. Power packed dance performance by students left everyone spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized. The event beheld the gracious presence of Director Ma'am, Dr Saroj Suman Gulati. Ma’am addressed the audience and asserted the importance of having elderly people around us. Showcasing gratitude, a beautiful poem and Nukkad Natak were also presented. To make event more entertaining a Ramp Walk and interesting Antakshari was conducted. Madam Principal, Ms Alka Singh addressed the gathering and encouraged the students for putting up scintillating performances for their grandparents. The assembly was neatly woven, earning the praise of the Primary Wing In charge, Ms Pallavi Sinha. The immense support and love received from the grandparents has helped the school move headway focussing on all the scholastic and co-scholastic areas without facing any hindrance in the student’s learning.

DATA SCIENCE WORKSHOP

Blue Bells Model School is one of the pioneers in introducing Data Science to our students from grass root level beginning from Class VI to Class XII. Data Science combines math and statistics, specialized programming, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning with specific subject matter expertise to uncover actionable insights hidden in an organization’s data and these insights can be used to guide decision making and strategic planning. The school organized a very informative workshop on Data Science for the school students in the school premises. The resource person, Ms Radhika Sharma, a data science professional and consultant currently working as a Knowledge Analyst with McKinsey and Company and a bright alumnus from the academic batch 2015-16 briefed children about the subject and ultimately breaking into a data science career, exploring a variety of data science programs, such as certification programs, data science courses and degree programs offered by educational institutions.

Overall, it was enlightening and immensely interactive learning experience for all the students.

We, at Blue Bells believe that in order to provide a wholesome education to children we must nurture in them the interconnected dimensions of values, life skills and wellness. Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools structured the Health &Wellness Programme for Blue Bells Public School with the strong vision of equipping the students with knowledge and awareness of their Health and Wellbeing thus ensuring a strong foundation of their childhood.

The Health & Wellness Team launched its own Peer Educator Programme in the year 2015 which consists of a Health & Wellness Ambassador from Class XII, a Peer Mentor from Class XI and 14 Peer Educators from Classes VI to X along with a Junior Health & Wellness Ambassador from the Primary Wing. These students are an integral part of the Student Council and are selected through a well-planned process. They play an active role by working as a bridge between mentors and pupils and also conduct especially designed sessions for the students along with Counsellors and Life Skills Facilitators. In furtherance of the vision ,  the Peer Educators  for the Session 2022-23 were selected through a  structured  procedure comprising the Written Round, JAM Session, Team Building Activities and Personal Interview with Dr. Alka.

With the aim of giving an insight into the Health & Wellness Programme, an Introductory Session for newly elected Peer Educators of Blue Bells Model School was planned & conducted by Ashutosh Raghav, Health and Wellness Ambassador and Harshita Garg, the Peer Mentor on July 28, 2022. The students were trained by Ms. Manisha Gupta, Ms. Prerna Karkhanis and Ms. Komal Kathuria under the able guidance of our mentor Dr. Saxena.  The session offered a new learning experience to all the participants.

Dr. Alka apprised them about Do’s and Don’ts to be kept in mind while performing the duties of a Peer Educator. She elaborated about the roles & responsibilities of Peer Educators. Speaking on the occasion, Ma’am briefed them about their take away from the session and motivated them for achieving their goals. She wished them luck for their future endeavours.

The Peer Educators participated enthusiastically in all activities & discussions. At the end of the session they were apprised about their first task as Peer Educators.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON DENGUE PREVENTION

We at Blue Bells believe that children are the harbingers of a better tomorrow. With the mission to empower our young scholars with the right information and awareness regarding different issues related to health & wellness, the Health & Wellness Team under the mentorship Dr Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS organizes and conducts various informative sessions as a part of Peer Educator Programme.

In sync with the same vision, special assemblies were organized, wing wise for the students of Classes III-XII from August 25 to August 30, 2022, to sensitize them about the ways to combat the prevalent disease Dengue and stay safe during Monsoon season.

Information regarding the prevention of the disease, the breeding conditions of the mosquitoes, and steps that could be taken to reduce the risk of acquiring the disease were shared with the help of a Power Point presentation.  At the end of the sessions, a quiz was conducted to check students understanding about the topic. Students responded to the questions with enthusiasm and demonstrated a sound understanding of the content.

In addition to spreading awareness through the assemblies, posters on Dengue Awareness and Tips for Monsoon season, have been put across all strategic locations of the school. The sessions were interactive and supported in promoting a safer and healthier environment for the society.

TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”

To commemorate the birth of the second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan ,5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable.

The teacher’s Day with the theme ‘Deeksha’ was organized with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram. A warm welcome with a colourful badge of ‘Deeksha’ was a pleasant surprise for all the teachers. The students planned many spectacles for the day and showcased song and dance performances on peppy numbers. Ramp walk by the teachers was a mega cynosure. Musical Chair and fun – filled basketball and volleyball Teachers versus Students reminded the teachers of their school days and made them nostalgic. All the teachers applauded overwhelming zeal and enthusiasm of the students for making such a glorious event to cherish for. Click here to view photographs.

Vigyantram

Jawaharlal Nehru in The Discovery of India, writes, “Scientific temper is a way of life — an individual and social process of thinking and acting which uses a scientific method which may include questioning, observing reality, testing, hypothesizing, analyzing and communicating.” With the same vision in mind, Blue Bells Model School organized a three-day workshop of Vigynatram from 26^th - 29^th August 2022 for students of classes VI-XII. The event was graced by Reverend Dr Sanjay Pal, a very senior scientist working for the largest premier R & D organisation of the country, DRDO, Defence Research and Development Organisation of India.

Vigyantram is a National Level Championship with a series of Drone Making and App Development Workshops. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shubahm Gupta, Event Head- Vigyantaram.

A total of 55 students with all scientific fervour learnt two new technologies. The students created drones using the kits provided by Vigyantaram. Different types of drones, their capacities, importance & use of various parts were explained. The prototypes were prepared by students and the joyous students flew the drones in the ground. In App Development, students created an app using Android Studio. Basic concepts of Java were explained to them. Students created the interface of the app along with the coding to make it functional.

Overall, the workshop was very informative and interesting. The students enthusiastically participated to learn new concepts which also enhanced team spirit while working in groups. It was an interactive and fruitful workshop.

Vigyantram

Genuflections and Regards to Revered Dr Sanjay Pal Sir BBMS brims with scientific temper! By providing students with meaningful and connected learning experiences, Blue Bells Model School hosted Vigyantram – a National Level Championship with a series of technical workshops in association with Enactus, IIT Delhi from 26-29 August 2022 in the school premises.

The event was graced by Reverend Dr Sanjay Pal, a very senior scientist working for the largest premier R & D organisation of the country, DRDO, Defence Research and Development Organisation of India. Honourable Sir has close -knit association with renowned scientists including APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr V K Aatre, Dr V K Saraswat and present chief DRDO Dr G. Satheesh Reddy. In pursuit of sharing professional experience for academic benefits of the students, the philanthropist, Dr Sanjay Pal Sir has offered to volunteer scientific and technical services to the institution. The school will be honoured to receive his professional experience, technical talks and career guidance in due course of time.

Expressing her delight, Ms Alka Singh, Principal said that close association with such stalwarts would help develop exemplary scientific temperament amongst our children.
