Middle Wing Assembly on World Youth Skills Day

The students of Class VIII B conducted their class assembly on the ‘World Youth Skills Day’ which is celebrated every year on July 15. The day is celebrated to mark the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. Its goal is to achieve better socio-economic conditions for today’s youth as a means of addressing the challenges of unemployment and under employment. The assembly progressed with regular features like thought for the day, significance of the week to a speech highlighting the importance of celebrating the day with an array of skills presented by the students in the form of table rendition, singing, dancing, and skating. The audience sat in bewilderment with the stupendous show presented by the students. The Class Incharge, Ms. Rashmi Puri, addressed the students and advised the students never to give up unless they mastered a skill that they are trying to learn as giving up is never an option.

DOCTOR'S DAY CELEBRATION

“Real heroes don’t wear capes, they wear white coats and we call them Doctors.”

The world has become a better and healthier place to live in with doctors bringing the joy of health and goodness to our lives. Health & Wellness Programme, Blue Bells Group of Schools, under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health and Wellness) Blue Bells Group of Schools, has been incessantly working to sensitize students to various themes related to health & well-being and social, emotional & cognitive domains.

National Doctor's Day is observed on 1st July every year in India, to mark the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.C. Roy and also acknowledge his extraordinary contributions to the medical fraternity.

In sync with the same vision, to salute the relentless efforts of the doctors, the Primary Wing of the school celebrated Doctor’s Day. Slot wise special assemblies were organized on July 6, 2022, under the guidance of the Health & Wellness Team of the school.

Assemble hosted by the junior Health & Wellness Ambassador Ayaana Singh and School head Girl Varnika along with students of Grades III to V respectively. The assemblies began on a pious note by invoking the blessings of the Almighty with Ganesh Vandana. All the assembly features were interwoven around the theme of celebrating the contributions of the custodians of health. A mesmerizing poem on the role of doctors as superheroes and how they dedicate their lives to caring for and treating us, was applauded by all.

Adding value to the celebration, Dr. Sanjay Bhat, the school doctor along with the school nurse Ms. Neelam Kumari, gave an informative presentation on basic First Aid. The students were apprised of the safety rules and the uses of items in the First Aid Kit. They were briefed about the importance of administering First Aid in case of an emergency before the arrival of medical help. Dr. Bhat further emphasised on safety measures which must be taken in various areas like in the kitchen, at home, in the playground, on road, in the park, in the swimming pool where children visit frequently. He focused on proper hygiene which is to be maintained for a safe and healthy life.

The students showcased their creativity and expressed their heartfelt gratitude by giving a bouquet of handmade cards and a specially designed handmade calendar to Dr. Bhat and the school nurse. The assembly was concluded with the gratitude note by the Ms. Pallavi Sinha, Primary Wing Leader. She appreciated the efforts put up by the doctors and nurses. She highlighted the importance of medical fraternity and their contribution to humanity.

Internship Programme for Students of Blue Bells Model School

Experiential, Hands-on Learning has become the buzzword of the teaching-learning process today because practical, skill-based learning only, can carve employment generators. In an effort to blend classroom knowledge and theory with practical application and abilities Blue Bells Model School organized an Internship program for its students based on the recommendations of the NEP.  

The Internship program was designed & corroborated by Ayka, Project Inclusion, Leanly, Wineural & NeoQn. Tasks offered to the students during internship were Social Media Manager, Video Editor, Content Writer, Researcher (mainly in field of education, poverty, and equality), Web Development, Coding, Wall painting in rural areas, Conducting extracurricular workshops with underprivileged children like art, drama, GK, soft skills, Fundraising for education (both online and offline), Organizing donation drives, Design Team (designing posters etc.), Human resources (organizing, management, working with psychologists), Marketing team (working on our venture to provide free counseling sessions) and Volunteers (offline): Conducting workshops in special education in schools, organizing mental health drives, and running awareness campaigns. 

Student interns gained experience in professional & community settings. Students also gained added benefits of professional recommendations, resume-worthy experience, and networking opportunities.  

The venture received great appreciation from the parents of the interns. They expressed that such programmes contributed in preparing the students to become future ready.

It's time to make the green switch – Say no to the use of single-use plastic and make Gurugram and India free from plastic litter”, said Ms Alka Singh, Principal Blue Bells Group of Schools. The school in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Gurugram organised an Awareness Drive in the school and launched the ‘Jagrukta Rath’ on 14 July 2022 in the school premises. The programme was graced by Ms Madhu Azad, Mayor, MCG, Mr Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, W/Commissioner, Shri Jaideep Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Sh Subhash Yadav, Nodal Officer Environment and Sustainability Wing MCG, Sh Akhilesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner MCG, Sh Vijaypal Yadav, Joint Commissioner (HQ) MCG, Smt Seema Pahuja Councillor Ward No.15, Ms Soumya Gulati, and Mr Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Mr Kuldeep Hindustani, Programme Coordinator. A myriad of activities like Puppet Show, Inspirational Song and Nukkad Natak were held to motivate children to be the torch bearers of this initiative. Under the drive, Cloth bags and saplings were distributed to children. “It is to address this issue as well as to make people aware about the negative environmental impacts of plastic and encourage them to use the environment-friendly alternatives”, said revered Mr Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools in his keynote address.

Formation of Vittclub Cabinet at Blue Bells Model School

There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning with sincerity and dedication.

Vittshala is a CCE initiative by Sri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi to spread the basics of financial education among financial illiterates. It was founded by a group of motivated teachers and students who wanted to make an impact through community outreach programmes. It aims at making communities equipped enough to manage financial resources and services effectively through community engagement, workshops, seminars and discussions.

Blue Bells Model School is proud to announce that the institution has its own Financial Literacy Cell known as Vittclub- A Vittshala of BBMS under the banner of SRCC, New Delhi. After the rigorous training session conducted by the Vittclub team of SRCC, New Delhi, the cabinet of Vittclub-A Vittshala of BBMS was declared functional on June 27, 2022. The students of Class XII attended various online training sessions viz Basic Level, Intermediate Level and Advanced Level Modules on the theme of Financial Literacy with various concepts in the month of April/May followed by an Online Assessment and Interview. As a result of the rigorous selection process, 9 members are selected for various posts in the Vittclub-Cabinet.

Cabinet Members are Riya (Chief Coordinator), Dishita Singh (Coordinator), Bhavika Chutani (Coordinator), Prassiddhi Sachdeva (Core Member), Harsh Jha (Core Member), Shravika Jain (Core Member), Arnav Jhamb (Executive Member), Mitesh Sharma (Executive Member), Giri Gupta (Executive Member).

A new chapter begins which will take young school students of BBMS under SRCC, New Delhi to realize the goal of a financially literate country.

Assembly and orientation on Skill Subject

As the school resumed after a refreshing summer break the students of Class VIII D conducted an assembly on the theme of Healthy Lifestyle. With the commencement of monsoons, the topic selected was perfect for the assembly. Along with the regular features of the assembly, the students shared the importance of maintaining good health and fitness. Through the speech and self-composed poem, they endorsed that health and fitness does not only improve overall physical wellbeing, but it also improves mental health. The Class Incharge, Ms. Anubha Roy, gave valuable tips to the students to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Boot Camp on Introductory Session for Skill Subjects for grades VI-IX was conducted. The orientation session was conducted by the mentor team - Ms. Vidhi Airun, Ms. Sanjana Arora, Ms. Sharmishtha Bhatia and Mr. Shabab Alam to help the students understand the Skill Modules. The Skill Subjects are Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Design Thinking and Data Science. The main objective of these modules is to develop a readiness for understanding and appreciating the various skills and their application in today’s life. The Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, motivated the students highlighting the importance of Skill Subjects.

TRIP TO CHAIL AND SHIMLA

Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.

Blue Bells Model School, Sector-4 Gurugram believes that trips and excursions are a perfect way to expand one’s horizons. Keeping this in mind, we organise regular educational trips and excursions for students to promote learning through outdoor interactions and experiences. In addition, such trips also instill a sense of appreciation for the wonders of the earth and expose our children to a wide variety of cultural and geographical ecosystems.

The planned and escorted trips are always a craze among the students and the excitement of Class XII students knew no bounds as they went to Chail and Shimla along with their friends and mentors from 06-09 June 2022. The children participated in a number of activities at Camp Jungle Livinn , Chail like Wall Climbing, Wall Rappelling, Valley Crossing, Burma Bridge etc and headed to Shimla en route to halt at Kufri . The children relished the food and danced to their favourite songs.

Hence, the important objective of planning trips is to provide an opportunity to teachers as well as students to bond with each other, giving both parties a break from their hectic schedules.

YOGA SESSION FOR TEACHERS

“Yoga is invigoration in relaxation, freedom in routine, confidence through self-control, the energy within and energy without.”

A few minutes of Yoga during the day can be a great way to get rid of stress that accumulates daily, in both, the body and the mind. Yoga postures, Pranayama and meditation are effective techniques to release stress. Meditation is relaxation and rejuvenates the body and mind. With this aim in mind, a session was organized on 11 June 2022, for the teachers in the school premises. The yoga instructor, Ms. Neetu took the yoga session with great dedication. The teachers participated with full interest, enthusiasm and eagerness. Exercises for relieving stress, reducing joint pain and enhancing the flexibility of the back were also done for the benefit of the teachers.

The Principal, Ms Alka Singh motivated the staff and conveyed the importance of making yoga an integral part of our daily life by extending the practice of yoga beyond the mat. The session concluded with an interactive session between the instructor and the teachers in which the queries of the teachers were addressed satisfactorily. The session was very refreshing, reviving and relaxing.
