Labour’s Day

‘We salute and honour the men and women who comfort our life with arduous and painstaking efforts’

It is only through sincere determination and resolute courage that one moves on towards better things. All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and should be undertaken with conscientious excellence. To commemorate Labour’s Day and to appreciate and thank the selfless service of the support staff of the school, a special online assembly was conducted by the students of Primary, Middle and Senior Wing on May 1, 2021.The assembly commenced with the melodious School Song followed by the thought for the day, news and significance of the day. The Primary and Middle Wing students expressed their sense of gratitude through poetical recitation and showcasing a video with heart touching messages. The senior students built a strong connect with their Didis and Bhaiyas by interviewing them and giving recognition to their hidden talent. A musical rendition of group song and video presentation expressing their deepest gratitude towards the support staff further enthralled the audience. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS congratulated all the members of the support staff and appreciated their unfaltering and wholehearted contribution towards the school. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal of the school complemented and applauded students’ and teachers’ efforts for making the event a success.

World Book Day

In the words of Walt Disney, a pioneer of the animation industry, ‘There is more treasure in books than all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.’ Books are a real treasure and to prove this fact the students of Class VIII C presented a special assembly on World Book Day highlighting the importance of reading books and thereby broadening their horizon of thoughts.

The assembly began with regular features where students shared the Thought of the day, News, Words for vocabulary enhancement and Significance of the Week. Pranjal Mahar recited a self-composed poem on Book Reading. Tanish Dhiman explained the Benefits of Reading through a wonderful PowerPoint Presentation. Mrinalini Rawat, Aryan Taneja, Shubh Saxena, Bhakti Arora and Lochan Ganotra presented impressive Book Reviews on – the Wizard of Oz by L F Baum, Secret Seven by Enid Blyton, Series of Harry Potter by J K Rowling, Who Can Win by Shiv Khera, and the Magic of the Lost Temple by Sudha Murthy. The Book Reviews were appreciated by everyone as it made the viewers curious to read the books showcased. The assembly culminated with a song presentation by the students unveiling the students of the whole class reading books.

The Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, appreciated the students for their brilliant performance.

AMIFN - A Magical Intercultural Friendship Network

"In the future, your digital footprint will carry far more weight than anything you might include on a resume." -Chris Betcher.

With a view to apprise our students with Digital imprint and its impact on their lives, an International session was organized by the school on a virtual platform under the project “AMIFN - A Magical Intercultural Friendship Network”. Schools from Bosnia, Romania, Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia and India interacted with each other in the International classroom on the theme ‘Digital Imprint’ through a series of presentations and manuals.

The students deliberated on their interpretation of Digital Imprint and its active and passive sides. They also talked about the pros and cons of internet usage. Once something is posted or shared online, it can be there forever. Understanding your digital footprint helps you choose and control what you leave online for others to find. To quote Abigail, “Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought for with ardour and attended with diligence.” The learning for all participants from this session was an immense and enriching one.

EARTH DAY

BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL COMMEMORATED ‘EARTH DAY’

‘Nature has painted for us, pictures of infinite beauty. To preserve it with ceaseless effort, is our duty.’

Earth Day celebration in the school on 22^nd April 2021 served as a conscious reminder of how fragile our planet is and how important it is to protect it. The day inspired the students to act towards the protection of the environment and focus on the need for conservation. Students’ eagerness to save mother earth was evident in their involvement in poster making, video graphing and infographic representation. The Primary Wing students organized a special online assembly on the theme “Clean & Green is Our Perfect Dream”. A speech was delivered by Sanyog and Sanchit stressing on the importance of keeping  the planet healthy and safe  for the future generation to live in. A beautiful musical dance video captivated the audience which highlighted the nuances about the little things we can do in order to nurture our Mother Earth. The students’ zeal and earnest efforts in the various activities were applauded and appreciated. The day’s celebration was indeed an invigorating and revitalizing experience for one and all.

Protect Green, Protect Environment

The key motive of celebrating Green Day is to create awareness about the earth and to treasure the greenery we are blessed with as this is one of the most pivotal social responsibilities which every individual should be mindful about. To create a  consciousness and cognizance amongst the students to preserve nature’s infinite gifts and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Honorable Founder Chairperson, Late Sri B. D. Gulati, the school celebrated ‘GREEN DAY’ on 21^st April, 2021.To restore the earth’s flora and to provide nature a helping hand, the students earnestly planted  native saplings in their house and neighborhood. Their enthusiasm in plantation was visible in the videos and uploaded photographs.

To make the day more cherishable a ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ was organized to pay a tribute to our revered Sri B. D Gulati Sir. Through this cultural rendition the Blue Bells family saluted the great visionary and mentor and ensured its commitment and devotion to keep his noble principles of life ignited and alive.

A new academic session heralds a new beginning with fresh opportunities to delve in. It is all about looking at the future endeavours with renewed hope and expectations.

On this note, the Primary and Middle Wing of the school organized the first online assembly to commemorate Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti on 14^th April 2021. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS graced the occasion with her benign presence. The spirit of gaiety and happiness was visible amongst the students who performed and those who watched the scintillating celebration. The assembly commenced with a beautiful thought related to the occasion followed by news. Tanisha Goyal recited a self-composed poem on Baisakhi and Aishani Ghosh and Bhoomoka Singh delivered a speech on the ideologies of Dr. Ambedkar. A video dance by the students of Primary Wing on the harvest festival captivated the august gathering. An online quiz on the constitution of India by the students of Middle Wing kept the audience engaged. Alka Singh, the Principal of the school applauded the students for their earnest efforts and urged them to keep up their high spirit.The event was concluded with vote of thanks extended by Ms.Anjali Nagpal.

‘Together parents and teachers will give the child the roots to grow and wings to fly’

A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe. Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. To familiarize the parents as partners in the progress of their ward, the School organized an Online Orientation Programme for the parents of Classes IV to V, VI-IX & X & XII on March 27,2021 in three consecutive sessions. The aim of each session was to involve parents to understand the world their child traverse in the school. The parents were given an insight into the teaching - learning transaction which aids the child recognize his potential, work on the strengths and weaknesses and emerge as a successful individual.

The parents were acquainted with the school curriculum, students’ achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, clubs, life skills’ training and code of conduct for the students. The parents were given an overview of subject specific array of activities conducted in an effort to make the classroom learning, experiential and empowering. Evaluation pattern throughout the session was elaborately discussed. The parents were also briefed about the inclusion of new teaching approach which includes STEAM education and Project based pedagogy.The faculty members enlightened the gathering by walking through the vision and phenomenal endeavours taken under The Health and Wellness Program of the school which  focuses on developing the child holistically including the cognitive, social, emotional and ethical aspects. The orientation programme indeed helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. The session closed with an OPEN HOUSE wherein parents’ queries were well attended by the school team.

With the aim of initiating a harmonious learning process and to familiarize parents with the institutional ethos, the School organized an Orientation Programme for the parents of Class III on March 20 & 21, 2021. Due to COVID 19 safety protocols, multiple sessions were organized wherein the parents were invited in a specific time slot. The aim of each session was to give parents an opportunity to experience and understand the world their child explores in the school. The Parents were given an insight into the Teaching - Learning process which rests on the belief that given the right ambience and opportunities, every child has the inherent potential to excel by identifying his/her own skill set

The parents were acquainted with the school curriculum, students’ achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, clubs, life skills’ training and code of conduct for the students. They were also apprised about the subject specific array of activities conducted in an effort to make the classroom learning, enabling and engaging. The parents were also briefed about the earnest efforts of the school for the socio-emotional empowerment along with cognitive and ethical development of the students through a well-regulated Health & Wellness Programme as an integral part of school curriculum. The session closed with an OPEN HOUSE wherein parents’ queries were well attended by the school team.

INTERNATIONALISM SESSION 8

EIGHTH SESSION OF INTERNATIONALISM BY BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ON THE THEME - ‘SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL-13 --CLIMATE ACTION’

In the words of Ban Ki-Moon, Former Secretary-General of UN, “Climate change is the single greatest threat to a sustainable future but, at the same time, addressing the climate challenge presents a golden opportunity to promote prosperity, security and a brighter future for all.”

Global issues are an important part of the lives of our pupils living in a multicultural world. Education is an essential element of the global response to climate change. It helps young people understand and address the impact of global warming, encourages changes in their attitudes and behaviour and helps them adapt to climate change-related trends. 

The Eighth session of International Connectwas organized by Blue Bells Model School on March 20, 2021 on a virtual platform with a Foreign Language School “Step by Step”, Skopje, North Macedonia under the project “Inter Cultural Virtual Exchange – North Macedonia and India”. This session was a free session for students of both schools to express their viewpoints. The students from Macedonia shared a beautiful and informative presentation on Macedonia. It gave a virtual tour to our students to the ‘Land of the Sun’- Macedonia.

Our students expressed their concerns on the sustainable development goal -13 Climate Action, causes, solutions and ways to reduce carbon footprints. The main highlight was the information on the initiatives taken up by our school like Energy audit, Water audit and Green audit as a conscious effort towards saving our planet. The interaction was aimed to help everyone understand the impact of global warming today and increase "climate literacy" among young people. The students of both the schools deliberated and developed an understanding on the importance of controlling our carbon footprints on this planet. Needless to say, it was an edifying interaction. Our lives depend on a healthy planet. Let’s seize the moment and change course – toward more sustainable lifestyles.

The end of a journey means the start of another one.

Every journey comes to an end. But what remain after it ends, are its memories. Though the beautiful journey of the session 2020-21 came to an end but we were successful in gathering plenty of wonderful memories on the virtual platform. Each one of us explored and learned new things. In sync with this, our brilliant kids created presentations, presented them in front of the class and shared their rich experiences. The two-day Activity Programme included Artsy Crafts, JAM, Group Discussion, Fitness in Dance, Angles in Yoga, Dumb Charade and Magic in Science sessions. The students participated in the sessions actively. The untiring efforts taken the facilitators were evident throughout the programme which led to the dynamic participation of the students.
