SDG IN ACTION- COMMITTED TO THE CAUSE

At Blue Bells Model School, it is the constant endeavour to ensure that our students know and contribute in the global issues. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by all the United Nations Members States is one such global issue. Under this theme of cultivating student’s spontaneity and creativity to promote education for Sustainable Development, our School provides unique learning experiences and opportunities for them to learn to “think globally and act locally” through live experiences and various types of learning materials with a multi-disciplinary approach.

In sync with this the students of our school from grade III to VIII participated in an international event ‘International Talents for Global Empowerment’ organised by The Circle of Legends under the able guidance of the organiser Vedrana Sarec,  wherein the students curated beautiful and meaningful posters on the theme ‘Importance of SDG’s In My Life’ and explained them in an articulate manner to the renowned judges from across the globe. The students were enthralled with this global experience, wherein students from countries like Siberia, Malaysia, Macedonia and many more presented their perspective on the SDG’s through their art work. This kind of a global event helps the development of students into more well-rounded citizens of the world, and shows them the ways in which they can make a difference in the future.

Honesty in Examination

‘Honesty is a commitment to refrain from falsity and untruthfulness’

We at Blue Bells Model School strive to groom students to become confident, self-reliant and truthful. The sparkling essence of our motive and goal “Be Honest, Be Brave” manifests their growing  up with values of honesty engraved in their character and bravery in their actions. Online education and online assessment pedagogy paved a path to the young learners where there is every possibility that the students may go astray. In order to minimize misconduct during online examination and to make students realise that knowledge is more important than scoring marks that to through unfair means, the school took the initiative to organize a webinar on, ‘Honesty in Examination’.Through a melodious song presentation ‘Mehanat ka fal payega..’ it was beautifully conveyed that there is no substitute for hard work. The school Ambassador Shagun Jain and the Head Girl Kishika Malik rightly said that the sole reason of education is not to upbring a population of low self-esteem raised with dishonesty and fear of failure but to nurture one with a capability to outshine in the world tomorrow. Senior Wing Coordinators Mr. Mohd. Suhail and Dr. Chhavi Thakur elaborated on the guidelines of examination and urged  the parents to remain vigilant and instill positive values in their wards so that they grow up as righteous individual. Ms. Alka Singh , Principal of the school at the end truly highlighted the fact that a dream does not become reality through magic but it takes sweat, determination, and uprightness.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2021-22

‘IF  YOUR ACTIONS INSPIRE OTHERS TO DREAM MORE, LEARN MORE, DO MORE AND BECOME  MORE  THEN YOU ARE A LEADER’ 

Every right implies a responsibility and every possession, a duty. The Investiture Ceremony of Blue Bells Model School for the academic session 2021-2022 was held online on June 19, 2021 to felicitate the new Student Council. The ceremony was organised to entrust the duties and responsibilities to newly appointed council members in order to involve them in day-to-day functioning of the school. Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, the Director BBGS graced the occasion with her benign presence. She congratulated the council members and motivated them by stating that ‘With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that one cannot achieve’. The august occasion commenced with the diya lighting and school song. The senior school ambassador, Namrata Munjal, Head Boy Viraj Kanwar and Head Girl Tanvi Beniwal addressed the congregation by sharing their thoughts and emphasizing the fact that ‘Being a council member, one has huge responsibility but along with duty and task, it is a great experiential learning phase’.

The video showcasing the zeal of new councils while taking the portfolio from the seniors evidenced their determination as the future leaders.The dance rendition’ on the song ‘Main parinda kyu banoo mujhe aasman bannna hain…’captivated everyone’s heart and added meaning to the celebration. Both the councils melodious group song presentation demonstrated their firmness to carry forward the rich legacy of the school. The snapshots of last year’s Investiture ceremony offered a panoramic view of heightened excitement, fun-filled activity and a bit of cheerful nostalgia.The final PPT presentation brought all the councils together to receive encouragement and blessings from management, teachers and parents.

The newly appointed Head boy, Saransh Gaba, Head Girl, Kishika Malik and School Ambassador,Shagun Jain expressed their willingness to shoulder their duties with honesty and diligence. Along with them the other elected student councils comprising 16 Core Council Members, 4 House Captains and 1 Health and Wellness Ambassador took the oath to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them. At the end Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal addressed the dignified audience and rightly quoted that ‘The investiture Ceremony is a sacred event in the life of a student and is the first milestone in the journey of being responsible and reliable’. To conclude, the maiden virtual Investiture Ceremony witnessed the unstoppable Blue Bellians’ earnest resolution to take their position with utmost commitment and steadfastness.

A Webinar on Digital Literacy

In today’s era, the challenge that the elderly people face is their unfamiliarity about digital skills. It’s high time now for the younger generation to take up this responsibility to handhold the senior citizens and help them to use technology appropriately and navigate through an array of applications. Under the aegis of International ICT Community Seagulls Project 2021 in association with Dr Hayal Köksal and the guidance of Dr.Madhu Gupta, the school IMECE circle organised a webinar to curb out the social ill of technological illiteracy amongst the elderly people from the society. The school team comprising Shagun Jain, Devansh Tripathi, Vanshika Chaudhary, Palak Singla, Kunika Sharma, Sauransh Bhardwaj, Kashish Madan, Saransh Singh Rawat, Divyanshu Sharma and Riya Bhatia presented a multifaceted and extensively informative presentation to train the students of Classes III-VIII about the initiatives which can be set in motion to support their grandparents getting technologically literate. The future squashes at the feet of technology and the vision illuminates at the cost of learning. The students of Blue Bells Model School ensure the multidimensional evolution of all their community members wherein they have taken the onus to hold the hands of their grandparents or any elderly person to make them digitally more enlightened.

Virtual Summer Camp – Grand Finale

Summer Camp

Learning is fun and we learn better when we enjoy! Keeping this in mind, we started with the beautiful journey of Summer Camp, 2021-22 for the students of classes III to VIII.

In order to add a little more spark to the programme, we organized sessions to help students to learn from profound speakers’ experiences. The guest speakers visited almost all the sessions and guided our young listeners about the nuances and experiences of life.

Starting with ‘Workout Wonders and Dance Unplugged’, Ms Deepa Sharma- A Certified Yoga Instructor, shared few healthy tips with the students. She shared the importance of exercise and nutritious diet. She also stated that we should stay healthy not only with physical fitness but also with mental well-being.

Moving ahead with ‘Tech Magic’, we had with us Chetanya Koti, an alumnus 2016 who is now Operations Associate at Wolt, Germany. He encouraged students to focus upon developing their skills and follow their passion. He emphasized on the importance of being technically sound, bringing out and gaining practical knowhow along with theoretical knowledge.

Ankit Bhaskar, an alumnus 2014 now an International Certified Career Coach and working with Expedia Group, shared his experiences during ‘Know the World Around’ sessions. He explained thoroughly about the ways of applying the skills and knowledge acquired during the academics in solving or analysing real life problems and drawing conclusions. In addition, he added the importance of school years where we learn different skill sets, everything around the world.

Alumnus Suryansh Singh Rawat currently pursuing engineering from BITS Pilani Goa Campus, gave them tips on what they can do to learn to Beat Box during ‘Know the World Around’ session.

Our artistic alumni 2020- one pursuing bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories from NIFT and another one pursuing bachelor’s in Mass Communication from United World Institute of Design, Aditya and Darpan respectively gave valuable knowledge about the importance of art in ‘Art Spark’ sessions. They shared their experiences and work with the students. They mentioned that it’s really important to be passionate and determine for things we love because this will definitely lead to a successful life.

Saloni, an alumna 2017 who studied Economics at SRCC, shared the intricacies and suggested the students steps to work upon their content delivery. She quoted examples to help them understand how they can use the learnings of MUN in their life.

At the end of each session, students were given opportunity to interact with the guest speakers wherein they asked questions, gave their feedback, and explained how they were benefited by the session. Our brilliant guest speakers pacified their queries. We were really pleased to have speakers like them as they spread the word of encouragement and inspiration to each one of us.

Talent Hunt

Talent Hunt offers an excellent opportunity to the students to promote self-learning among themselves and develop their confidence, analytical as well as logical skills.

In order to hone these skills, the students of Grade 3 were given a unique platform to showcase their talent through Talent Hunt Show organized by Primary Wing. There were participants in all categories. They enthusiastically exhibited their talent by singing melodious songs, reciting heart-touching poems, narrating thought-provoking stories and spell-bound dance performances. Other highlights of the Talent Hunt Show were mimes, funny news, display of sand painting, tux painting, calligraphy, yoga postures etc. They confidently played musical instruments.

Students were extremely confident, dedicated and gave marvelous performances. Students actively participated in this event and displayed their ability magnificently.

Orientation on Optional Subjects for grade XI

Exploring career options is an important step on the road to adulthood. The subjects that students opt at the +2 level impact the choices they have when they apply for college admissions and embark on their career path.

 An Orientation programme was organized online for students of Grade XI on May 4^th,2021 to apprise them of the prospects of optional subjects. Students were familiarized with the combination of subjects to be offered at the +2 level as main and optional subjects. The facilitators also discussed the teaching methodology, psycho-pedagogy and working methodology of the school. The recent achievements and milestones attained by the school were also shared. The objective was to support the students so that they have a clarity about their future goals and get started in the right direction. A very prudent advice given by them was to “unite their avocation with their vocation” because it is linked with one’s pursuit of happiness. Students were suggested to opt for  unconventional subject combinations so that there is a scope to diversify later in life.

The educators for Optional subjects illustrated the content and various career options associated with their subjects through a PPT followed by an interaction with all the facilitators, where they clarified the doubts of the students. The programme concluded on a positive note by motivating the students to become vibrant performers and capable citizens.

‘A Roadmap for our Learner’s Journey’

Education is a shared commitment between devoted teachers, inspired students and dedicated parents. Together parents and teachers can give the child the roots to grow and wings to fly. To familiarize the parents as partners in the progress of their ward, the school organized an Online Orientation Programme for the parents of Class XI on May1, 2021.Two sessions were organised for Science, Commerce and Humanities stream. The parents were given an insight into the teaching - learning transaction which supports the child in realising his potential and achieving his goal. The parents were acquainted with the school curriculum, students’ achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, clubs, life skills’ training and code of conduct for the students. The parents were given an outline of subject specific array of activities conducted in an effort to make the classroom learning empowering and interesting. Assessment criteria throughout the session was discoursed. The parents were also briefed about the inclusion of new teaching approach which includes STEAM education and Project based pedagogy. The faculty members addressed the meeting by giving a synopsis of the vision and remarkable endeavours taken under The Health and Wellness Program of the school which focuses on the holistic development of each and every child. The orientation programme indeed helped the parents to comprehend the curriculum strategy being followed in the school to ensure fruitful learning progression. The session closed with an open house session wherein parents’ queries were well attended by the school team.
