BEHES REGIONAL GUGURAM ROUND 2021-22

Blue Bells Model School hosted  ‘India’s LargestDebate Tournament -Behes Regional Gurugram Round’onJuly 31& August 1, 2021. It was a two-day Debate Competition with a vision of building an All-India platform for young students to express themselves and deliberate onsome engaging and relevant topics.

99 debaters from15 renowned schools of Gurgaon / NCR showcased their talent by presenting their view in an effective manner with a perfect modulation of voice and diction. These debaters contested in a uniquely designed team debate format for the title of Regional Champion and qualifying for the National level.

All the debate topicswere given impromptu and based on a suggested reading (and viewing) list that was updated every few months. Students explored selections spanning a variety of disciplines in their bid to challenge the best in the debating community. The free-flowing debate format encouraged the growth of research, collaborative and analytical apart from oratory skills.

Around 17 teams in the Cubs (Junior) Division and 16 teams in the Lions (Seniors) Division qualified for the National Finals to be held in June 2022 in which 1000 debaters from 25 cities of the country will debate to be the National Champion.

Talking about the aim of the competition Ms. Alka Singh, Principal, Blue Bells Model School said “We need to train our students for jobs that do not exist now. We need to hone their skill sets that makes them ready for the future jobs. The skill sets like effective communicationskills, negotiation skills, critical thinking skills, people management skills, soft skills, decision makingcan be honed with platforms like Behes. In the largest interest of the nation. these debates will hone the skills of these future citizens to introspect which will further bring a constructive change in their personality.”

INTER HOUSE ONLINE GAMING FIFA CHAMPIONSHIP ’21

‘ONLINE GAMES FOSTER THE MINDSET THAT ALLOWS CREATIVITY TO GROW.”

Blue Bells Model School organized the first Inter--House Online Gaming FIFA Championship ’21 which witnessed huge amount of fun, enjoyment, teamwork, collaboration and imaginative adventure of students.  It was organized by Physical Education Department of the school on July 29, 2021 on the Zoom platform for the very first time. Students showed utmost enthusiasm in grabbing this opportunity and representing their houses with pride and exhilaration. Students’ excitement was apparent during the live streaming of the game. Mother Teresa House was the proud winner of the first position and Tagore House bagged the Second position. All the students were confident and presented their gaming talent seamlessly. The online game undeniably reflected the ethos of the school and undoubtedly contributed an essential part in students’ development and socialisation.

Orientation for Skill Courses (Classes VI – IX)

On 24 July 2021, an orientation program for the parents of the students studying in Classes VI – IX was organized to apprise them about the Skill Subjects. In an ongoing effort towards progressive learning, Blue Bells Model School has always believed in keeping its flagship high with a clear vision aligned with 21st century skills. One of the key elements for the same is providing exposure to vocational education. Complying with the recommendations of NEP 2020 and its commitment to promotion & development of skills in students, CBSE has introduced various skill subjects for the session 2021-2022 to upgrade the skills and proficiency of the young generation and explore the various career options available in future. Ms. Alka Singh, the School Principal, welcomed the parents on the occasion. The edupreneurs briefed the parents about the various modules that would be incorporated in the program. They apprised them about Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Coding and Design Thinking. The Question-and-Answer Session towards the end was quite interactive as it pacified the queries raised by the inquisitive parents. The event came to a culmination with the vote of thanks by the Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, under whose guidance the program was curated and implemented.

Investiture Ceremony - Primary Wing

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a LEADER.” The Investiture Ceremony of the Students’ Council for the Primary Wing, Blue Bells Model School for the academic session 2021-2022 was conducted with great delight and dignity. The Investiture ceremony signifies the confidence and faith that the school consigns in the newly invested council members to be the torch bearers of tomorrow. The ceremony was held with lots of zeal and zest. It was commenced with a spellbound Ganesh Vandana. The outgoing leaders shared their experiences and gratitude to the teachers and management in their speeches. They praised the newly elected leaders. At the same time, our newly elected leaders shared their zing and sense of responsibility in their overwhelming speeches that clearly reflected their commitment and gratitude towards their mentors. The result of other elected leaders was displayed on the screen along with their profiles. Thereafter, the newly elected leaders took the pledge to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honor in high esteem by singing the school anthem together followed by the pledge taking ceremony. Honourable Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, graced the ceremony with her radiant presence. Ma’am congratulated and blessed the newly elected leaders. She apprised the leaders with a golden rule of success which was to learn from the previous council and work with full dedication for the betterment of everyone. Respected Principal Ma’am also appreciated and congratulated the young leaders. She reminded them that with position comes responsibility and encouraged them to work as a team. In-charge Ma'am congratulated the council members and exhorted them to be honest in fulfilling their duties and uphold the values. The ceremony concluded with a wonderful dance performance by Primary Wing students which depicted the strength of dedication and commitment.    

A SHOWCASE OF AIL PROJECTS BY THE SENIOR WING

“ART HAS THE POWER TO TRANSFORM, TO ILLUMINATE, TO EDUCATE, INSPIRE AND MOTIVATE”

The art is an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic…music, dance, painting, and theatre are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment.” Keeping pace with the ideology of Design Thinking, the students from classes XI and XII show cased their innovative research -based and Art integrated learning Projects in a special Assembly.

This was one way to connect us to the real world by defining statements, research involving survey, data collection, interviews based on groundwork, ideation -brainstorming and then finding solutions.

During the process, the students realized that team bonding can create wonders and collaborative experiences and brainstorming can unleash multiple ideas. The students presented their projects very creatively. Physics gravitational concept was aesthetically woven with various dance forms. The language team showcased Wars: Both a Physical and Mental Trauma through a PPT and through a video presentation of a role play they cited examples of such great personalities for whom age was no bar when you take challenges in a positive way. Chemistry was a roller coaster ride about Thermal Power station of Maharashtra & Haryana. Our calculative minds of Mathematics presented the budget for the years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 through histogram, pie chart& bar graph. The budding Psychologists reflected on Social/Psychological/ Economic causes of high rate of suicides of Vidarbha’s Farmers. The masters of Economics made us peep into Import Substitution Policy Conflict -Assess in the light of Indo China stringent relations. The future medicine young minds creatively presented about the deadly CORONA virus. Students from Commerce reflected on the importance of accounting through case study. The upcoming Entrepreneurs taught us the impact of advertising on society. Our upcoming Political Science students imparted us with Constitution Rights: Differences between developing and development. Dhruv Bhattacharya (XI) mesmerised the audiences with his melodious song.

The Middle Wing Incharge ,Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar appreciated the students for their relentless endeavours. Ms.Anjali Nagpal also motivated the students and mentors for showcasing the blended learning thus giving a new insight in the field of education.

COMM-KSHETRA-2021- CONTEST FOR BEST!

‘Planned use of hard-earned money is commerce and growing the remaining is an art.’

Commerce changes the fate and genius of nations .India is a growing economy and the responsibility of taking this growth reach higher scales rests on the shoulders of its Commerce sector. In pursuance of the vision to churn out entrepreneurs and innovative leaders who would whole heartedly contribute to upscale the economy of the nation , the Commerce Department of Blue Bells Model School hosted a scintillating Inter School Commerce Fest -“Comm-Kshetra 2021- Contest For the Best !“ on July 15 & 16, 2021 on a digital platform.The competition was a beehive of innovation and creativity with an objective to cultivate the creative spirit, practical ability and encourage outstanding talents amongst the scholars. It provided a podium where young business minds expressed explicitly and competed with one another meticulously.

The event was lit up by the illuminating presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, BBGS and Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovation), BBGS. The panel of judges was studded with experts excelling in different realms of Commerce -Mr. Akhil; the Co-Founder at Questt (Homework App) & Co Founder of nvol.in, Mr. Aditya J Hemrajani, a renowned and successful entrepreneur for three decades, Mr. Abhishek Gupta, the Founder of India's biggest community of Parents and Students – High School Moms and also the Founder of International Alliance of Counsellors and Educators' & Alumnus of Blue Bells Model School, Mr. Yash Chhabra, Vocalist, Composer and Producer and Mr. Sourabh Mehan; the Founder and Director at Six Sigma Entertainment Private Limited.

The event witnessed the participation of 400 students from 36 renowned schools of India and abroad. The event was a perfect blend of Online and Offline events wherein the young budding scholars competed with all their knowledge and might. Two Online events - Planning-O-Matic (A Business Plan/Proposal) and Bizz-Quiz (Online Quiz) were conducted on both the days of the competition in stipulated time slots. Four Offline events were Adverto-Dynamo (Ad-Mad), Marke-Tech (Digital Marketing), Rap-O-Preneur (Lyrical Insight) and Comic-Nomic (Comic Strip).

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati commended the school team for a spectacular presentation and worthwhile concept. She further stated that she can see the bright future of the nation where the Blue Bellians will play a dynamic role in working towards nation building. Madam Soumya Gulati lauded the efforts of the school team and asked them to carry forward the good work. The judges were spellbound with the level of the competition and appreciated the efforts of the school and all the participants. The result of the competition was declared in the Closing Ceremony on July 16, 2021. It was a unique learning experience for all the members of the school. The event indeed redefined entrepreneurship and creativity with brilliance and ingenuity.

The Brain Thugs #Chapter2 @2021

Antony Garrett Lisi, the American Physicist, thinks that the universe is pure geometry - basically, a beautiful shape twisting around and dancing over space-time. The students of Middle Wing took a step forward to display this beautiful concept through an online event - The Brain Thugs #Chapter2 @2021. This event was organized on a virtual platform but with the embedded dance and music videos it highlighted the fact that the whole universe is a blend of invincible patterns. There was an exuberating, motivating and engaging ‘Online Mathematics Quiz- Math-e-Matrix’ where in the selected team participated and the winners were Team 4, comprising Kartik Gothwal (Class VII), Ansh Rao (Class VIII) and Aayush Aggarwal (Class IX).

Although the audience could not actively participate but each and every one present in the event solved the scintillating questions that popped upon the screen. It was a thrill even for elders to step into the shoes of the young ones and solve the mind-boggling quiz. Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal, appreciated the endeavours of the students and inspired the faculty to keep conducting such activities that boost up the morale of the students. Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, the Middle Wing Incharge, under whose guidance the event was designed and executed, proved to be a constant source of motivation for one and all.

MOCK BBMUN 2021

‘A MAN’S FEET SHOULD BE PLANTED IN HIS COUNTRY BUT HIS EYES SHOULD SURVEY THE WORLD.’

We at Blue Bells envisage today’s youth as an optimistic generation filled with hope of a healthier and better tomorrow. Discussion and exchange of opinions among youth broaden their vision and they aim to become a world ctizen.In pursuance of the same objective , the school  hosted Mock BBMUN 2021  on July 10, 2021for the students of classes VI-XII on a virtual platform. The event created a perfect platform for Gen Z to think over world affairs and reach a consensus on a bigger frame. The deliberations amongst the delegates paved the way for developing these young learner's diplomacy and oratory skills. They got an opportunity to broaden their perspectives and use their practical knowledge in a global context. The conference had a considerable number of first-timers whose performance was commendable. The school indeed received a resounding positive reaction and enthused committee meetings which was highly applauded by the management and teaching fraternity.

Doctors Day

“The occasion of Doctors Day gives all of us a chance to express our gratitude towards the doctors who have brought us health and smiles.”

The students of IV A held an assembly on Doctor’s Day to highlight the importance of the day and spread awareness about the role of doctors in our lives.  It showcased the relentless service of doctors in society. The assembly began with the school song, which was followed by the thought of the day and regular features of the assembly. The assembly was graced with the presence of Director Dr Saroj Suman Gulati and Dr Alka Saxena, Deputy Director Health and wellness BBGS. They addressed the students and highlighted the importance of doctors and their contribution to humanity. Dr Alka Saxena discussed the tips to remain healthy during the covid-19 pandemic and summer season. School Alumni, Dr Kamna Kakkar, Dr Preeti and Dr Honey Verma were invited to be part of this assembly. Students interacted with them and asked various questions to understand the medical profession. Dr Sanjay Bhat, our on-campus doctor emphasised to continue following the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour like wearing masks, keeping hands clean, maintaining social distancing, going out of the house only when necessary. The students paid a tribute by showcasing a Role-Play about the different types of doctors. They also presented a beautiful dance performance as a small gesture to show their gratitude towards doctors, followed by song, poem and speech.  In the end, the assembly was addressed by Ms Alka Singh, school Principal and Ms Anshu Mallika Kumar Middle wing in-charge. They appreciated the efforts put up by the students.

EXHIBIT – PROJECT PRESENTATION

Zig Ziglar has stated, “If you are determined to learn no one can stop you.”

Empowering today's students to become innovative thinkers is a serious goal endorsed by Blue Bells Model School and focussed with this vision, the school’s constant effort is to build on experiential learning engagements. Keeping abreast with the technological advancements the students of Middle Wing exhibited their Summer Projects in the EXHIBIT – PROJECT PRESENTATION conducted on July 3, 2021.

The Summer Projects for this session was designed keeping in mind the framework for innovation that is Design Thinking. The students took up the challenge and brainstormed to apply design thinking in their projects. They came up with tremendous presentations. Different grades were allocated different issues that provoked innovative thoughts and helped the students come up with solutions to deal with the issues present around them. The topic for Grade 6 was ‘Are we Waste Wise’ – on the theme Waste Management, in which the students defined the problems faced in the city and a step-by-step procedure was explicated in order to tackle the production of waste and its mitigation with smart thinking and planning. The topic covered by the students of Grade 7 was ‘How can we impact positively on the challenges experienced by water crisis’. The students conducted the questionnaire survey on MS / Google Forms that included questions related to water consumption for various household activities, availability of rainwater harvesting, reusing grey water etc. They came up with ways to ensure judicious usage of water consumption. Grade 8 took up the topic ‘Impact of Climate Change on Vegetation’, it helped them understand the impact of climate change on Biomass and how humans have altered the face of the earth. They suggested effective solutions and designed impressive Infographics using story board. The topic for Grade 9 was ‘Developing Preparedness and Recovery Plans - Disaster Management’. Keeping in mind the after effects of Natural disasters, students used the design thinking approach which allowed challenging problems to be redefined in order to identify alternative strategies and solutions. Based on their findings and surveys, they designed a framework to prepare a coordinated plan to respond, recover, prevent, and prepare for a disaster.

The Director, Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, addressed the gathering and applauded the students for their commendable presentations. The Principal, Ms. Alka Singh and the Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar appreciated the students for the relentless endeavours.
