ACADEMIC AWARDS CEREMONY SESSION 2020-21 CLASSES VI – VIII

“Never underestimate your strength, you were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” Bluebells Model School, Gurugram organized the Academic Awards Ceremony, 2020-21 for Classes VI – VIII on August 28, 2021 to felicitate the budding talents whose persistent quest for success, dedication sincerity and perseverance led them to surpass excellence in scholastic and co-scholastic activities. This ceremony is a focal point of the school calendar where academic excellence is celebrated and recognised. The occasion was graced by the Vice Chairman Mr. Ashish Gulati, Director Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, all members of the Senior management, teachers, students and parents. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp to mark the beginning of the auspicious day. This was followed by the melodious rendition of the Saraswati Vandana. The sublime energy of rhythm and melody enthralled the audience. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Bluebells Group of Schools, motivated the students and encouraged them to perform better in the next academic session. She appreciated the efforts of the students on this momentous occasion and viewed that imparting quality education to children has always been a challenge and more so during this Pandemic. In her address to the audience, she advised students to remain self- motivated even if they are not achievers. After the speech, the school anthem instilled joy and fervour amongst all present. Students were felicitated for their academic achievements and punctuality. A mesmerising puppet pageantry was showcased by the students. In her inspiring address the Principal Ms Alka Singh, appreciated the students as COVID warriors for their hard-work during the Pandemic. She went on to remind them to continue to uphold the values that are such an integral part of the institution. She appreciated the efforts put in by the students and the faculty for their overall performances and wished them to come through with flying colours in future too. The jubilant event culminated with a Vote of thanks by the Middle Wing Incharge, Ms Anshu Malika and a video on Nature and its beauty.  It was indeed a proud moment not only for the recipients of the awards but also for their Parents who had been invited to partake in the glory of their wards’ success. It was a day to celebrate.    

INSIGHT INTO RESEARCH PAPER

Nothing has such power to broaden the mind as the ability to investigate all that comes under one’s observation in life. To understand this statement, the school organized an informative webinar, ‘Insight into Research Paper’ for IX, X and XI and XII Science Stream students. The main objective of the webinar was to give a fair idea to the students on how to write research paper. Guest Speaker Dr. Vandana Gupta was an alumnus from Blue Bells Model School. She is now a specialist in Independent Environment and Climate Change with fifteen years of expertise in Scientific Research and Management. Dr.Vandana started her session with the explanation of her research Mitigation Methane Emission in Rice with resource Conserving Technologies.She showed her primary data with pictures and then explained very systematically ‘Why do we need to learn how to write a research paper?’ She addressed the students very systematically by emphasizing on the structure of research paper which includes introduction of thesis statement, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, parenthetical notations, reference, appendices and conclusion through varied impressive slides. The webinar blended with a questionnaire round was an inspirational and enriching learning experience for all the young Blue Bellians.

It is evident that the promotion of social innovation and transformation is a ginormous task, while being the most important aim of not only the United Nations, but every country, every administrative body, every society, every institution, and every individual looking forward to a post-pandemic world. With this goal in mind, we at Bluebells aim to create dialogue and collaborative learning on global challenges and finding innovative solutions. To create social innovation and transform the world we live in today into a world for the better. In pursuance of the same vision , the school  hosted the VI Chapter of  BBMUN 2021  on the theme,’ Blue Bells For Social Innovation and Transformation ’ on August 20 and 21 on a virtual platform.

The  Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony of the Mega event was Mr. Deepak Vohra , the special advisor to the Prime Minister of South Africa. Sir spoke at length about the role of youth in social innovation and transformation.  Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director , Blue Bells Group of Schools declared the Conference Open and congratulated the school team for organizing it dexterously. Ma’am also appreciated the theme chosen  –‘Social Innovation and Transformation’.   She wished all luck to  the delegates for two days of fierce debating .

Delegates  from all over the country were divided into eight committees, conventional and  unconventional , and they  deliberated  on Social Innovation and Transformation and also charted a resolution for the same. The Executive Board panel comprised of experienced MUN’rs who played an instrumental role in steering the young generation to fruitful work. Through BBMUN,the students were   provided a unique opportunity  to engage in productive dialogues and also develop strong bonds of camaraderie.

The Closing ceremony was graced with the presence of Mr. Akshay Sapre as the Chief Guest. He is a qualified Advocate practising as Counsel before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts and Tribunals. The occasion was also blessed with the gracious presence of Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The result of the conference was declared and the Outstanding School Delegation Award was bagged by Amity International School, Sector 43, Gurugram and Best School Delegation Award was clinched by Modern School Barakhamba Road

The event proved to be an enriching experience for all the delegates as they exchanged innovative ideas and responded positively to their heart’s calling thereby ushering in a ‘golden age’ of hope and optimism. The event was the sincere endeavor of the school  to focus on concrete solutions and devise strategies for a safe  and secure world with social innovation and transformation’

75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

‘MAY THE GLORY OF INDEPENDENCE DAY BE WITH US FOR EVER.’

To survive in peace and harmony, united and strong, we must have one nation, one flag. Thousands laid down their lives so that India, our motherland becomes free and liberated from the restraints of foreign trespassers. Let us salute their supreme commitment, allegiance and sacrifice. With this feeling of nationalism, Blue Bells Model School celebrated 75^th Independence Day with a lot of devotion and pride for the country. The honoured guests of the pious occasion were Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of BBGS and Gen. G.D. Bakshi SM, VSM. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of BBGS hoisted the national flag with a fervour of patriotism in her heart. The NCC cadets and House Captains marched elegantly creating the perfect ambience for the grand celebration.

Ms.Anshu Malika Kumar, the Middle Wing Incharge welcomed all the distinguished guests. The presentation of group song ‘Yaad karo kurbani…’by the school singers brought forth their immense devotion towards their motherland, India. Through a ‘Dance Drama’ on ‘Incredible India’ the students of Middle and Senior Wing took everyone decades back to feel the spirit of independence. The tiny tots of the Primary Wing presented an enthralling mass yoga, aerobics and recited beautiful poem on freedom fighters of India and enacted Jhansi Ki Rani to  prove their spirit of patriotism. To spread the message of peace, students also presented adance on ‘World Peace’ which added more vibrant colours and elation to the celebration.

 The senior students captivated everyone’s attention by reciting patriotic poem ‘Sipahi’ brimming with nostalgia where a soldier makes a promise to the motherland as well as to his parents and to all the other family members that he will come back but the mode can be different either he hoists the flag or he will come wrapped in the Tricolor flag. The honoured guest for the day Gen. G.D. Bakshi SM, VSM who is a retired Indian Army Officer addressed the students and appreciated the efforts put up by them. Through the mesmerizing cultural show it was well conveyed that our independence is a blessing which needs to be protected and preserved and that is possible only when we work in unison overshadowing any impediment on the way.

THE DESIGN CHALLENGE SERIES TWO

“We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe and for that, I am extremely grateful.” – Stephen Hawking

With this thought ‘The Design Challenge Series Two’ was organized on a virtual platform for the Middle Wing students of classes VI to X on 11th August 2021. The thought behind organising the challenge was to celebrate the great designs created by the young ‘Yuvapreneurs’.

Imagination is the unique human capacity to envision that which is not, and therefore the fountain of all invention and innovation. With this inspiring vision ‘The Design Challenge Series Two’ was planned. It is a platform for our young students to implore, explore and innovate in order to find new ideas and solutions inspired by the design thinking approach.

The activities and projects were planned to bring innovative ideas for finding real solutions and seamlessly introducing students to the design thinking process. When students learn to think like designers, they gain confidence and competence as creative problem-solvers. It is this power that enables them to think differently.

Our young ‘Yuvapreneurs’ showcased their creations under one platform during this challenge programme. Each ‘Yuvapreneur’ participated with enthusiasm and passion demonstrating their prototypes, ideas and solutions. They show cased their product designs /prototype layouts and the feasibility as to how the products can be made beneficial for humanity.

Empowering today's students become innovative thinkers is a serious goal endorsed by our School and focussed with this vision, our constant efforts are to build on experiential learning engagements to find creative ways for problem solving. With this vision and objective, THE DESIGN CHALLENGE activity was introduced last year and continues today with the same enthusiasm amongst our budding innovators in action.

Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal, believes in honing the skills of the students and providing various platforms to them. She appreciated the innovative designs of the prototypes presented by the ‘Yuvapreneurs’. The audience applauded the efforts of the students for coming up with such innovative ideas. This challenge involved active participation and consistent mentoring.

STAGE –O- RAMA

“GREAT THEATRE IS ABOUT CHALLENGING HOW WE THINK AND ENCOURAGING US TO A WORLD WE ASPIRE FOR."

The stage is a magic circle and an unbiased territory where the most real things happen outside the jurisdiction of destiny. Acting is not about being recognised, it’s about exploring the human soul.To make students rejoice this voyage and treasure school days, the school organized an Inter-House Theatre Fest, Stage –O- Rama on the virtual platform on August 6 and 7, 2021. The two days Theatre Fest was conceived and curated by Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation, BBGS.

The event commenced with Ganesh Vandana enfolded with the yester years’ Theatre Fests’snapshots. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school extended a hearty welcome to the august gathering with an underlying message that theatre brings reformation in one’s life. The stunning theatrical rendition of Shagun Jain was a highly applauded curtain raiser for the mega event. He played the role of Danveer karna from Mahabharata depicting the saga of war, trials, sacrifices and lessons that can be drawn from the land of Kurukshetra.

Devansh Tripathi, the Hindi Literary Secretary presented a ‘Time Lapse Video’ saluting the iconic writers Munshi Premchand and William Shakespeare. The council members Devansh Tripathi, Divyanshu Sharma, Kishika Malika, Ayush Sharma and Khushi Jha’s enactment of ‘Drama never Dies’ through an English song presentation testified that music has been an integral part of theatre and it can reveal the inner emotional life of a character or comment on the action onstage. Student Councils’ interaction with the jury in the ‘Panel Discussion’ was enriching as they got to know the nuances of theatrical skills. The song presentation by Spreeha Banerjee and Dhruv Bhattacharya, Stand Up Comedy by Priyanshu Singh and Divyanshu sharma and the enthralling Victorian Dance Drama presented by the school studenst captivated everyone’s attention.

Participants from all the four houses showed brilliant passion in Monologue competition ‘Mono Show’ where they orated the speeches of central characters from English and Hindi dramas of eminent playwright. Contestants were equally exceptional in playing their role in the ‘Mime Act-Convey the Content. Different houses staged both Hindi and English plays exhibiting their intrinsic proficiency of theatrical skills. The students’ zeal in playing various roles in English plays ‘Bholi’, ‘Sound of Machine’, ‘My friends Call me Ginger’ and ‘The Harvest of Death’ and Hindi plays ‘Sarda ki Kahani’,‘Arthleen’ ‘Chief Ki Dawat’ and ‘Koyle

Ki Lakir’ were noteworthy and spectacular. Students deftly played an important part starting from selecting and editing the scripts, directing the plays and making the videos by lending light and sound effect. The eminent jury Mr. Nishank Verma, a celebrated and well known film actor, Mr. Mayank Malhotra, a producer, writer and assistant director and Mr. Vikas Sharma, theatre expert, actor, director and a trainer for public speaking were highly appreciative of the magnificent portrayal of characters and enactment of each play.

In ‘Mono Show’ Krisha Gupta of Mother Teresa House bagged the first position and Dishita Singh of Indira Gandhi won the second position. In the event ‘Convey the Content’ Raj Sardana of Tagore House clinched the first position and Manya Bassi of Nehru House won the second position. Tagore House bagged the Best English Play Award and Runner up position was won by Mother Teresa House. The Best Hindi Play Award was bagged by Mother Teresa House and Runner up position was won by Tagore House. The coveted Overall Trophy was proudly clinched by Mother Teresa House. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS addressed the students and encouraged them to hone their skills and attain brilliance in the realm of acting. The action packed two days journey was indeed a delightful and thrilling experience for all the students, management, jury and faculty members.

Inter House Competition

Poetry is an expression of heart and soul. It is a type of literature based on the interplay of words and rhythm. It gives powerful insight into the cultures that create it.  

Blue Bells Model School, Primary Wing organised an Inter House Poetry Recitation Competition on account of Tagore Jayanti, Theme: Gurudev’s Poetry. One student from all four houses participated in the competition and recited Famous Tagore’s Poems. Varnika Singh from Indira Gandhi House bagged the first position in the competition, followed by Asmita Chauhan from Tagore house as the first runner up and Navya Keresi from Mother Teresa House as the second runner up.

BEHES REGIONAL GUGURAM ROUND 2021-22

Blue Bells Model School hosted  ‘India’s LargestDebate Tournament -Behes Regional Gurugram Round’onJuly 31& August 1, 2021. It was a two-day Debate Competition with a vision of building an All-India platform for young students to express themselves and deliberate onsome engaging and relevant topics.

99 debaters from15 renowned schools of Gurgaon / NCR showcased their talent by presenting their view in an effective manner with a perfect modulation of voice and diction. These debaters contested in a uniquely designed team debate format for the title of Regional Champion and qualifying for the National level.

All the debate topicswere given impromptu and based on a suggested reading (and viewing) list that was updated every few months. Students explored selections spanning a variety of disciplines in their bid to challenge the best in the debating community. The free-flowing debate format encouraged the growth of research, collaborative and analytical apart from oratory skills.

Around 17 teams in the Cubs (Junior) Division and 16 teams in the Lions (Seniors) Division qualified for the National Finals to be held in June 2022 in which 1000 debaters from 25 cities of the country will debate to be the National Champion.

Talking about the aim of the competition Ms. Alka Singh, Principal, Blue Bells Model School said “We need to train our students for jobs that do not exist now. We need to hone their skill sets that makes them ready for the future jobs. The skill sets like effective communicationskills, negotiation skills, critical thinking skills, people management skills, soft skills, decision makingcan be honed with platforms like Behes. In the largest interest of the nation. these debates will hone the skills of these future citizens to introspect which will further bring a constructive change in their personality.”
