ASTRONOMY WORKSHOP

"Exploring the universe begins with a curious mind and a desire to learn."

On 23rd December 2024, the primary wing students of Blue Bells Model enthusiastically participated in a captivating workshop titled "Junior Galileo”. The workshop aimed to spark curiosity about the universe among young learners and provide hands-on experience in the field of astronomy. The session began with an engaging presentation on the wonders of the universe, including stars, planets, and constellations. Students learned about the significance of astronomy and how telescopes have played a vital role in exploring the cosmos. Students were introduced to the parts of a telescope and how it works. The workshop facilitator explained how lenses and mirrors are used to magnify distant objects. The most exciting part of the workshop was the hands-on activity where students constructed their own basic telescopes. Using pre-prepared kits, they assembled lenses, tubes, and other components under the guidance of teacher. Once the telescopes were completed, students had the opportunity to test their creations. They observed distant objects on the school premises, such as trees and buildings, to understand how telescopes work. The Junior Galileo workshop was a resounding success, inspiring students to look beyond the Earth and dream about exploring the universe. It not only enhanced their scientific knowledge but also fostered creativity and problem-solving skills.

Bal Veer Diwas Celebration

Blue Bells Model School commemorated Bal Veer Diwas with enthusiasm on 26^th December 2024. The primary wing participated in a poster-making activity and diary entry competition, fostering creativity and reflection. The diary entry activity allowed primary wing students to reflect on the unparalleled courage and sacrifices of the Sahibzadas, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. fostering a deep sense of gratitude and inspiration. Through their heartfelt expressions, they connected emotionally with the values of selflessness.

The middle and senior wings engaged in an insightful documentary screening, followed by an interactive quiz by Raj Sardana, Cultural Secretary to enhance their knowledge about the valour and sacrifices of the Sahibzadas. Ms Tajinder Kaur , Faculty explained the importance of Bal Veer Diwas and encouraged students to embrace their principles of strength, devotion, and righteousness.

The event successfully instilled patriotism and values of courage among the students.

Christmas Celebrations Spark Festive Joy at BBMS

Blue Bells Model School celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm and joy, creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness on 24^th December 2024 through a special assembly. Children from Harmony House, an initiative supporting underprivileged children, were the special guests of the day. Their joy and excitement added warmth to the celebrations as they joined in the Christmas cheer. It was a heartening gesture of inclusivity and festive spirit.

The highlight of the special assembly was a soulful carol performance by the students, whose melodious voices filled the air with festive cheer. The celebration also featured a heartwarming skit by the teachers, spreading the message of love and kindness, which is the essence of Christmas.

Adding to the merriment, a fusion dance performance on the song Despacito, blending Kathak and contemporary styles, enthralled the audience with its vibrancy and energy. In her address, the Principal , Ms Alka Singh extended warm Christmas greetings to everyone and emphasized the importance of love, compassion, and togetherness. Ms Anshu Malika Kumar, Vice Principal  encouraged students to carry the spirit of kindness and joy beyond the celebrations.

The celebrations inspired everyone to embrace the values of harmony, compassion, and goodwill, making it a memorable occasion for all.

Celebrating National Math Week in the Primary Wing

To commemorate the birthday of renowned mathematician Dr. Ramanujan, the Primary Wing organized a series of engaging math activities during National Math Week. These activities aimed to foster a holistic approach to mathematical learning, making math enjoyable and accessible. Students of class III, participated in ‘Bingo with Operations’ a fun and an interactive game that combined arithmetic operations with problem-solving. Students of Class IV enhanced understanding of geometric shapes, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving through ‘Tangram activity’. Students of class V created ‘Board Games with Operations’. They designed board games that incorporated various math operations, including fractions. The National Math Week activities in the Primary Wing successfully integrated creativity, history, and practical skills, making mathematics an enjoyable and accessible subject. The enthusiasm and engagement displayed by the students demonstrated the effectiveness of incorporating diverse activities for a well-rounded mathematical learning experience.

International Connect

Inspire, Learn, and Thrive! Blue Bells Model School, India, collaborated with Omura Elementary School, Taiwan, and Dongtan Elementary School, South Korea, in an engaging Internationalism Session on 6th December 2024 . Students of grade VIII shared and demonstrated traditional games from their countries, fostering cultural appreciation. Blue Bellians also showcased the Indian flag, while greetings in native languages highlighted mutual respect. This enriching session deepened students’ understanding of global cultures, emphasizing the beauty of unity in diversity.

World Energy Conservation Day – Assembly by Class III A

Blue Bells Model School, observed World Energy Conservation Day with a class assembly conducted by the students of Class III A. The event aimed to instill awareness about the critical importance of energy conservation for a sustainable future.

The assembly began with the morning prayer, pledge, and the school song, setting a serene and purposeful tone. Students presented an array of performances that highlighted the significance of energy in our lives and ways to conserve it. These included an engaging dance performance and intriguing facts shared by the students, emphasizing how small steps can contribute to a brighter future.

The assembly concluded with closing remarks that reiterated the importance of energy conservation and inspired students to adopt energy-saving practices in their daily lives. Additionally, a Communication Pledge was taken to remind students of the value of healthy and effective communication. The students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and actively participated in various activities. Specifically, Class III students showcased their creativity through Slogan Writing, while Class IV designed thought-provoking placards on 'Judicious Use of Resources'. Class V were engaged in an enlightening discussion on SDG-7 Affordable and Clean Energy.

Ms. Anshu Mallika Kumar, Vice Principal, lauded the efforts of the students and their class teacher, appreciating their dedication and teamwork in making the event both informative and impactful.

Building Confidence, Ensuring Safety: Safe Touch Awareness Sessions

at Blue Bells Model School, Sector 4, Gurugram

‘The safety of children is not a privilege; it is a right. Empowering them with knowledge and confidence is the first step towards protecting that right.’

The Health & Wellness Programme of Blue Bells Model School, under the mentorship of  Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS organized a significant initiative to raise awareness about personal safety among students and fostering a sense of security and safety. From October to December 2024, a series of Safe Touch sessions were conducted for Primary and Middle school students during their Value Education & Life Skills Education classes to promote awareness of personal safety and security. The core objective of these sessions, which were tailored separately for boys and girls, was to educate students on recognizing potential risks in their environment and to empower them to understand the importance of maintaining & respecting personal boundaries.

In addition to discussing personal and stranger safety, the sessions provided information about the school’s health and wellness programmes, including access to counsellors and the Child Helpline Number, ensuring each student is aware of the available resources and seeks help when needed. Life Skills Facilitators played a key role in guiding open discussions and encouraging students to build self-confidence and consciousness. Overall, the sessions were a vital component of the school’s ongoing efforts to safeguard and support its students.

VISIT TO KHUSHBOO WELFARE SOCIETY

Celebrating Abilities with Compassion

The students of Blue Bells Model School made a heartwarming visit to  to Khushboo Welfare Society, Gurugram on 6^th December 2024 . Students bonded with special children, sharing smiles and stories, and presented a mesmerizing dance performance. The special children reciprocated with their vibrant talent, creating moments of pure joy. The event celebrated love, resilience, and the beauty of life, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.

Maryada Purushottam Ram – Ek Yatra Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Function "Dharma is the foundation of the world. It upholds the universe and ensures harmony."

Blue Bells Model School celebrated its Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function, Maryada Purushottam Ram – Ek Yatra, on December 1, 2024. This cultural extravaganza brought to life the timeless virtues of Lord Rama.

The auspicious event commenced with a prayer to Goddess Saraswati and sacred shlokas, setting a tone of devotion. The program was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Mukesh Sharma, Member of Haryana Legislative Assembly, and Guests of Honour Capt. Indu Bokan, DEO, Gurugram, and Mr. Karan Singh from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Adding to the grandeur were the esteemed presence of Shri Mahesh Chandraji, Chairman ,  Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director,  Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Ms Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director , IT , Ms Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director , Academic Development and Innovation and revered management members .

Principal , Ms. Alka Singh welcomed the dignitaries and  along with Armaan Sareen, School Ambassador, Yash Gupta, Head Boy , Mannat Kataria , Head Girl and Vrinda Khare , Health & Wellness Ambassador presented the Annual Report, showcasing the school's remarkable achievements in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports during 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Scholars excelling in board examinations, alumni achieving milestones and sports achievers were lauded for their accomplishments . Chief Guest Mr. Mukesh Sharma applauded the school for nurturing strong values and praised the theme's inspiring message of resilience, righteousness, and integrity.

The highlight of the event was the cultural showcase, Maryada Purushottam Ram – Ek Yatra, which beautifully depicted the essence of Lord Rama through mesmerizing drama, dance, and music. The seamless performances blended captivating storytelling, choreography, and vibrant costumes, leaving the audience spellbound.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Ms. Anshu Kumar Malika, leaving everyone inspired to awaken the Ram within and spread peace and harmony.
