BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ORGANIZES ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PRIMARY, MIDDLE & SENIOR WING

‘Together parents and teachers will give the child the roots to grow and wings to fly’

A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe. Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. To familiarize the parents as partners in the progress of their ward, the School organized an Online Orientation Programme for the parents of Classes IV to V, VI-IX & X & XII on March 27,2021 in three consecutive sessions. The aim of each session was to involve parents to understand the world their child traverse in the school. The parents were given an insight into the teaching - learning transaction which aids the child recognize his potential, work on the strengths and weaknesses and emerge as a successful individual.

The parents were acquainted with the school curriculum, students’ achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, clubs, life skills’ training and code of conduct for the students. The parents were given an overview of subject specific array of activities conducted in an effort to make the classroom learning, experiential and empowering. Evaluation pattern throughout the session was elaborately discussed. The parents were also briefed about the inclusion of new teaching approach which includes STEAM education and Project based pedagogy.The faculty members enlightened the gathering by walking through the vision and phenomenal endeavours taken under The Health and Wellness Program of the school which  focuses on developing the child holistically including the cognitive, social, emotional and ethical aspects. The orientation programme indeed helped in evolving a common teaching strategy and helped the parents in identifying suitable follow up methods to reinforce the learning process of their children. The session closed with an OPEN HOUSE wherein parents’ queries were well attended by the school team.

With the aim of initiating a harmonious learning process and to familiarize parents with the institutional ethos, the School organized an Orientation Programme for the parents of Class III on March 20 & 21, 2021. Due to COVID 19 safety protocols, multiple sessions were organized wherein the parents were invited in a specific time slot. The aim of each session was to give parents an opportunity to experience and understand the world their child explores in the school. The Parents were given an insight into the Teaching - Learning process which rests on the belief that given the right ambience and opportunities, every child has the inherent potential to excel by identifying his/her own skill set

The parents were acquainted with the school curriculum, students’ achievements in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas, clubs, life skills’ training and code of conduct for the students. They were also apprised about the subject specific array of activities conducted in an effort to make the classroom learning, enabling and engaging. The parents were also briefed about the earnest efforts of the school for the socio-emotional empowerment along with cognitive and ethical development of the students through a well-regulated Health & Wellness Programme as an integral part of school curriculum. The session closed with an OPEN HOUSE wherein parents’ queries were well attended by the school team.

INTERNATIONALISM SESSION 8

EIGHTH SESSION OF INTERNATIONALISM BY BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ON THE THEME - ‘SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL-13 --CLIMATE ACTION’

In the words of Ban Ki-Moon, Former Secretary-General of UN, “Climate change is the single greatest threat to a sustainable future but, at the same time, addressing the climate challenge presents a golden opportunity to promote prosperity, security and a brighter future for all.”

Global issues are an important part of the lives of our pupils living in a multicultural world. Education is an essential element of the global response to climate change. It helps young people understand and address the impact of global warming, encourages changes in their attitudes and behaviour and helps them adapt to climate change-related trends. 

The Eighth session of International Connectwas organized by Blue Bells Model School on March 20, 2021 on a virtual platform with a Foreign Language School “Step by Step”, Skopje, North Macedonia under the project “Inter Cultural Virtual Exchange – North Macedonia and India”. This session was a free session for students of both schools to express their viewpoints. The students from Macedonia shared a beautiful and informative presentation on Macedonia. It gave a virtual tour to our students to the ‘Land of the Sun’- Macedonia.

Our students expressed their concerns on the sustainable development goal -13 Climate Action, causes, solutions and ways to reduce carbon footprints. The main highlight was the information on the initiatives taken up by our school like Energy audit, Water audit and Green audit as a conscious effort towards saving our planet. The interaction was aimed to help everyone understand the impact of global warming today and increase "climate literacy" among young people. The students of both the schools deliberated and developed an understanding on the importance of controlling our carbon footprints on this planet. Needless to say, it was an edifying interaction. Our lives depend on a healthy planet. Let’s seize the moment and change course – toward more sustainable lifestyles.

The end of a journey means the start of another one.

Every journey comes to an end. But what remain after it ends, are its memories. Though the beautiful journey of the session 2020-21 came to an end but we were successful in gathering plenty of wonderful memories on the virtual platform. Each one of us explored and learned new things. In sync with this, our brilliant kids created presentations, presented them in front of the class and shared their rich experiences. The two-day Activity Programme included Artsy Crafts, JAM, Group Discussion, Fitness in Dance, Angles in Yoga, Dumb Charade and Magic in Science sessions. The students participated in the sessions actively. The untiring efforts taken the facilitators were evident throughout the programme which led to the dynamic participation of the students.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT SESSION WITH VIETNAM

BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL CONNECT SESSION WITH VIETNAM ON THE GOALS PROJECT – SDG 13

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development provides a global blueprint for dignity, peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and in the future. Blue Bellians being an active member of this project and the global environment saviours, embrace a global approach. The core activities of the school have enhanced its international visibility and standing. To foster a spirit of learning and sharing with the international brotherhood and also to provide a global platform to the students on the noble cause of SDG- 13 Project, an interactive sharing session was organized wherein our global partner, the students and teachers of Ha Hoa High School, Phu Tho Province, Vietnam shared about their endeavours and action plan on the SDG 13 through a power point presentation and the insightful talk. The Blue Bellians also presented their project work through an impeccable power point presentation to fortify the actions taken up by them on this project. The students of both the schools deliberated and developed an understanding on the importance of climate action for the planet. After the presentation an engaging quiz was organized by the students of our school to have a reflection of the learning session.

UNWRAPPING LEARNING PACKAGES ‘CHAPTER 2020-21’-MAKING LEARNING VISIBLE ON THE THEME – ‘THE FIVE ELEMENTS OF LIFE’

Blue Bells Model School organized the fifth edition of ‘Unwrapping Learning Packages Chapter 2020-21 ’, Making Learning Visible , a celebration of learning for Primary Wing students on the virtual platform on the Five Elements of Life . The celebration brought alive the importance of the five elements. Their being in harmony leads to health, growth and happiness.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, BBGS graced the occasion with her benign presence and declared the event open for all. The carnival was conceptualized by ‘The Learning Space’ under the inspirational guidance of Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovations), BBGS.

After the Opening Ceremony , the windows showcasing the Learning Progression of the students across Classes III to V along with their deep understanding of the five elements were digitally opened. The super talented Blue Bellians curated an enthralling musical presentation, dance performances, class/subject presentations and video & photo galleries. During the Live Connect Sessions, students took up a significant role wherein they conducted theme-based games, involved parents, and made the sessions interactive. The parents were thoroughly engrossed in the process and appreciated the Learning Progression and Thematic Transdisciplinary Approach that wrapped the whole celebration. As a part of internationalism, Ms. Ngoc Nguyen from Vietnam and Ms. Sandra G. Grujevska from Macedonia joined the live sessions in the carnival and applauded the efforts of the students and school team. They visited all the windows and were exhilarated with the research done by the students.

The impressive presentation Elixir: ‘Find Your Essence’ was created by the Health &Wellness team under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena , Deputy Director, Health & Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The presentation was an integral part of the event ‘Unwrapping Learning packages’, imparting a thoughtful mindset and a new outlook to the parents. An overview of the Health & Wellness programme was presented through audio- video presentation where it showcased the kaleidoscopic glimpse of various activities and events for students, parents and teachers under the programme. Dr. Alka gave an insight about the work done under the Health and Wellness Programme during the Pandemic through an audio video presentation. Image Gallery for Classes III, IV and V showcased the Value Education learning to the optimum. In Live Zoom Sessions, students welcomed the parents and engaged them in the interesting and thought provoking energizers , Mind jogs and activities related to the movies. Inspirational Movies by school cinema were screened as part of the Value Education programme. The movies helped the parents to understand that it is extremely important to acknowledge the different values, life skills and emotions in order to have a holistic approach towards life. The parents experienced hands on activities with full zeal and vigour and appreciated the students’ performance. These activities reflected in- house teaching methodologies. The Image Gallery, Video Gallery and Live Zoom session were appreciated by the spectators. The display left an indelible impact on the parents and they lauded the efforts of the team.

The ICT corner, under the able guidance of Ms. Anshuka Aneja - Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools , displayed a myriad of activities for the parents. The students explained about Tux Paint drawing tools and Scratch animation software games. The school’s commitment for the Cyber Safe world was showcased in the Video Gallery Section. The Robotics section brilliantly depicted the blending of Artificial Intelligence to create the bots.

100 percent participation of the students was lauded by all. Parents’ involvement in the event was testimony to the rich association and bond they share with the school and educators. The event was indeed a great show put up by young Blue Bellians who took the role of the eco warriors to preserve , conserve and respect the natural forces and resources.

UN Talk Show

Student activism has an important role to play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as articulated in the United Nations Talk show conducted on February 17, 2021.

Associated project teachers and students from all over the world were a part of this special UN Talk on Student Activism with UN Chief Hawa Diallo and Youth Policy and Environmental Advocate Juan Pablo Celis Garcia.

All the participants were apprised with the importance of spreading awareness, campaigns , young leaders and with social media tools to galvanise support that students can demand implementation of sustainable development plans. They emphasized on how educational institutions have a significant role to play in advancing the SDGs. This can include embracing the innovative ideas of students and nurturing student activism globally by inculcating in students certain skills and values as part of the project. The session culminated with a question and answer round.

Overall, the session was informative and interactive. It was a pleasure to see BlueBellians from Blue Bells Model School be a part of such an enlightening and distinctive experience.

BASANT PANCHAMI

The day of Basant Panchami is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of wisdom and learning who bequeaths the greatest wealth to humanity, the wealth of knowledge. The school celebrated this pious occasion with utmost fervour and religiosity on February 16, 2021 by organizing the first Offline Assembly as normalcy returned in the campus amidst Covid safety protocols. The celebration was marked by a special presentation by the students embedded with prayers, hymns and offerings to the Goddess. The students paid their tribute to Goddess Saraswati and highlighted about the importance of the day. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director, BBGS congratulated the school team for a wonderful celebration and wished everyone a prosperous and glorious year ahead. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal prayed to the Goddess for her benevolence and felt blessed as with God’s grace all the members of the school overcame the tough circumstances posed by the outbreak of pandemic and celebrated the festival with vivacity.

SEVENTH SESSION OF INTERNATIONALISM

SEVENTH SESSION OF INTERNATIONALISM BY BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ON THE THEME - ‘IF I LIVED THERE’

In the words of Amal Clooney, “Cross-cultural learning and studying places can be transformative.” To   strengthen the spirit of  learning with international brotherhood and also provide a platform to the scholars to become global citizens by transcending geo-political boundaries , the Seventh session of Internationalism was organized by school on February 13 , 2021 on a virtual platform with a Foreign Language School “Step by Step”, Skopje, North Macedonia under the project “Inter Cultural Virtual Exchange – North Macedonia and India.”

In continuation of the theme IF I LIVED THERE’ the students of Blue Bells Model School presented their projects on Rajasthan and Macedonia. Learning about different places plays a significant role in nurturing relationship. It develops a healthy community and enhances problem-solving skills. The students of both the schools deliberated and developed an understanding on the cultural differences among countries of the world. A virtual tour of Blue Bells Model School too was given to our partners from Macedonia. The presentation and school premises were highly appreciated by all present.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT SESSION VI

BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL CONNECT SESSION VI ON BANK OF INNOVATIVE PEER TO PEER LEARNING

Let the world be your canvas and strive to paint the brightest picture. The whole purpose of education is to help the child to think beyond and at Blue Bells Model School, we have set an elevating and stimulative journey for our scholars by providing an exclusive learning experience via international exposure. In furtherance of this vision, the sixth session of Internationalism was conducted in the International Classroom -A Magical Inter Cultural Friendship Network with representations from Serbia, Turkey, Macedonia and India on February 9, 2021.

The module presentation was on Innovative Peer to Peer Learning. All the member schools showcased different Peer to Peer Learning strategies. The students showcased how E-Book can be an effective technique to fortify the concept . They also showed how interactive class room can be created with effective sharing and communication. The students of our school gave two presentations to explain the concept, one with Clauses and other with Doppler Effect. They also conducted a Kahoot Quiz which was lauded by all the participants
