Summer Activities Programme

The end of a journey means the start of another one.

Every journey comes to an end. But what remain after it ends, are its memories. Though the beautiful journey of our ‘Summer Activities Programme’ came to an end but we were successful in gathering plenty of wonderful memories. ‘Summer Activities Programme’ included Fitness Camp Sessions, Quill Art Sessions, Canvas Sessions, Theatrix Sessions, Dance Unplugged Sessions and Catchy Tunes Sessions. All the students geared up for the Grand Finale performance. Our facilitators marked this magnificent day by presenting a video which summarized the journey of ‘Summer Activities Programme’. Students were overwhelmed and they were eager to share their experiences. The parents participated in the sessions actively. Students were also awarded with the e-certificate for the accomplishment of ‘Summer Activities Programme’. The untiring efforts taken the facilitators were clearly evident throughout the programme which led to the dynamic participation of the students. Kudos to Team Blue Bells!!

JAM Session

Just A Minute Session offers an excellent opportunity to the students to promote self-learning among themselves, develop their analytical ability as well as logical thinking. JAM Session was organized by Primary Wing for class III. JAM Session gave a platform to the students to articulate their creativity, talent, presence of mind and command over the language all within a span of one minute. The session began on a pleasant note with the students of Grade - III bubbling with energy to participate in the JAM Session. The participants displayed their oratory skills and spoke empathetically on the allotted topic –‘If I had Three Wishes, they would be....’. 

Students were very confident and gave marvelous performances. Their excitement could be seen in their props and the way they expressed themselves.

It was indeed a great experience to watch little Blue Bellians becoming confident and fluent speakers.

World No Tobacco Day

Causing more than 8 million deaths each year, the tobacco epidemic is one of the biggest public health threats the world has ever faced. Research has shown that this habit is mostly picked up during adolescence, reasons for which include peer pressure, curiosity, lack of awareness and influence of media.

This year’s theme for the WHO designated ‘World No Tobacco Day’ on 31 May 2020 is “Protecting Youth from Industry Manipulation and Preventing them from Tobacco and Nicotine Use”.

The Health & Wellness Team at #BlueBellsModelSchool conducts an Anti-Tobacco Campaign each year to generate awareness about the serious health hazards associated with the consumption of tobacco. This year they have created this E-Brochure to highlight the enormity of this issue and reinstate the ill-effects of tobacco.

‘LOCK TALK – GATEWAY TO GET A WAY’- PANEL DISCUSSION

" Discussion  & Deliberation can stir the soul of democracy. “ In sync with this ideology , the Senior Student Council  of the school hosted  a Panel Discussion- Lock Talk- Gateway To Get A Way on  May 30,2020. The topic opened for deliberation  was ‘ Paradigm Shift –Pre & Post Covid 19 Crisis.’ The virtual discussion platform was embellished  with  the illustrious presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director , BBGS and Madam Anshuka Aneja , Deputy Director -IT, BBGS .  Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director (Academic Development and Innovations),  BBGS graced the occasion  as an Expert Panelist and provided  an insight on the transformation  in the Education Sector to combat the challenging situation.

The discussion had on board  eminent panelists specializing in varied fields like  Law, Business, Economics and Human  Psychology. This wide exposure provided a comprehensive insight as to how the current crisis can be tided over on economic, social and psychological front. The panelists further deliberated on how the lockdown blues can become the new opportunities for growth and development . The navigation of the session by the  moderators made it a really fruitful discussion and all the panelists heartily appreciated the strides which the school is making in its pedagogy in view of the current crisis.

Speaking on the occasion , Director Ma’am congratulated the school team for the wonderful session . She called this time as a time of opportunities where one can spend qualitative time with self and family and reach unparalleled heights . It was an enriching experience for all .

Summer Activities Programme

Summer is a time for children to take time off from the routine work of attending classes, doing homework and getting down to the curriculum. We, at Blue Bells, believe in horning life skills while having fun in a nurturing environment. Keeping this in mind, a 7-day ‘Summer Activities Programme’ was organized for Primary Wing students, to explore and engage students in a fun based learning.

Summer is a time for students to take time off from the routine work of attending classes, doing homework and getting down to the curriculum. We, at Blue Bells, believe in horning life skills while having fun in a nurturing environment. Right skills imparted now can help them shape their life and future. Keeping this in mind, Primary Wing came up with ‘Summer Activities Programme’ for students for classes 3-5 with ingredients to help students gain different life skills.

Day 1-7

Day 1-7 of the Summer Activities Programme started with great enthusiasm. Students were extremely excited and participated joyfully in all the activities.

The students of classes 3-5 were involved in a plethora of activities. Activities like ‘fitness’ and ‘dance unplugged’ helped them to exercise with rhythm; ‘canvas’ and ‘quill art’ focused on their artistic talents; ‘theatre’ and ‘catchy tunes’ providing rewarding experiences to them. The students identified the possibilities for development of diversified potential for creativity and artistic skills. They got an opportunity. 

All the sessions were quite enriching. These sessions helped the students to work independently and unleash their creativity. Students were fully engrossed in all the sessions and enjoyed to the fullest.

Mathematics Activity Week

“Maths gives us every reason to hope that every problem has a solution” 

In an effort to lay a strong foundation of Mathematics on students the Middle Wing of BBMS, Gurugram organised an ‘Online Maths Week’ from May 18 to May 22, 2020  by designing special activities for classes VI – VIII. These skill-based activities each day sharpened students’ mathematical prowess and aided in augmenting their interest in Mathematics.

The week started with the activity ‘Design a Board Game’.  The students created commendable games on PPT and Word file and were applauded for their unique style and designs. The students actively participated in designing ‘Mathematics through Art’ to create 2D/3D structures which included Mathematical symbols, numbers and equations. The students also exhibited their skills in basic Maths concept by composing tune in the form of vocal and instrumental music. To sum up, the Online Mathematical Activities definitely proved to be an experiential learning for the students.

ESKEETIT - ONLINE RAP & BEATBOXING COMPETITION ON THE THEME- LET'S BEAT ACROSS THE NEW NORMAL HOSTED BY BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL, SECTOR -4, GURUGRAM

"Your heart is just a beat box for the song of your life."

The trend of today is just not to sing words but to express the emotions in a rapid and rhythmic way which is usually accompanied by the art of vocal percussion. Even in these hard times, the Management, innovative leaders and faculty members of Blue Bells Model School brought alive the idea that creativity can never be locked. In sync with the same, ESKEETIT - ONLINE RAP & BEATBOXING COMPETITION, an Inter Class Competition on the theme-‘ Let's Beat Across The New Normal’ was organized by the Senior Student Council for Classes IX – XII on May 19, 2020 which opened new vista for all the rappers and beat boxers to showcase their talent.

The occasion was enriched by the gracious presence of Madam Anshuka Aneja , Deputy Director-IT, BBGS. Mr. Shrijan Mahajan, an amazingly accomplished and brilliant drummer also graced the occasion The eminent panel of jury comprised of experienced faculty members of the Music Department. The brilliant Alumni of the school also became a part of this unique endeavour . The budding musicians showcased their deep understanding of the rhythm and beat and enthralled everyone. It was a tough call for the judges to decide the winners.

Madam Anshuka congratulated the school team for conceptualizing and hosting the wonderful event . She lauded the efforts of the Student Council and the faculty for their wonderful effort. Ms. Alka Singh , Principal , BBMS praised the school team for the efforts and presentation. It was an enriching experience for all.

WEBINAR ON NON –VIOLENT COMMUNICATION ORGANIZED BY

BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL IN COLLABORATION WITH GANDHI SMRITI AND DARSHAN SAMITI

“Words have both the power to destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world.” 

A  WEBINAR  on Nonviolent Communication  was organized by the Blue Bells Model  School in association with Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi (Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India), New Delhi on  May 16, 2020 at 12 noon.  

Ms. Alka Singh, Principal , Blue Bells Model School accorded a Formal Welcome to the august gathering. Madam, in her own words described how the Principle of Non- Violence in our daily lives, at our workplace, as well as with our peers affect the very value system and the way we perceive the world.  Mr Dipanker Sharma, Director Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti briefed about the agenda and vision. Mr Vedabhayas Kundu, Program officer gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the topic- Non Violent Communications. He made the session very interactive and live. He also requested students to opt for  an Online Course Module available on their website.

The entire session  answered three main questions -What is Nonviolent Communication? , Elements of Nonviolent Communication…  and  Practicing Nonviolent Communication in our daily lives.  Nonviolent Communication is a powerful tool of effective communication which helps individuals to connect and engage with not only themselves but their families, friends and the society at large. It is based on pillars of Gandhian nonviolence- mutual respect, understanding, acceptance, appreciation and compassion. Nonviolent Communication not only helps in emotional bridge building but also is an important tool to resolve disputes and conflicts. If we nurture the habit of using nonviolent communication in our daily lives, we will be able to overcome many problems in our families and society.

The last part of the Webinar was a Question Answer Round wherein our enthusiastic Blue Bellians showcased their deep understanding and asked thought provoking questions from Prof. Kundu who was very pleased to answer. This resulted to an informative, interesting, as well as an engrossing session for the masses to receive The Mahatma’s educations in these times of crisis. It was an enriching experience for all.

COMIC-O-PEDIA - AN ONLINE INTER HOUSE STAND UP COMEDY COMPETITION

  "Comedy is a serious business. A serious business with only one purpose - to make people laugh." It is said making people laugh is one of the hardest things to do in the world. Even during these hard times, the Management, innovative leaders and faculty members of Blue Bells Model School realized how crucial it is to keep our heart and soul in peace and never forget the mantra of laughter being the best medicine. In sync with the same vision, COMIC-O-PEDIA: An Online Inter House Stand Up Competition was organized on May 15, 2020 by the Senior Student Council for Classes IX - XII. The topic for the competition was Lockdown : A New Now and Thereafter. The occasion was adorned by the gracious presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati. Esteemed Director , BBGS , Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director ( Academic Development & Innovations), BBGS and Ms. Anshuka Aneja , Deputy Director -IT, BBGS. The eminent panel of jury comprised of Ms. Arvinda Bhatia, an engineer, teacher, entrepreneur, theatre artist and story teller who found her passion in creating and nurturing readers and Ms. Geetika Goyal, an author and an artist who is also Director of Magic Creations which aims to keep creativity alive in children. Every participant performed with unmatched enthusiasm and zeal and made everyone roll into bits of laughter with their wit and humour. The motive of the event was to bring the Blue Bells community together with acting as a ray of hope in such turbulent times. The students undoubtedly put in mammoth hardwork, which became evident with their performances. It was a tough task for the judges to adjudge the winner as all the presentations were magnificent. The Result was :-   Speaking on the occasion , the esteemed judges congratulated the school team for the wonderful and flawless presentation . Madam Soumya heartily appreciated the efforts of the school team and she further added that she was touched by the manner in which the students showcased their understanding of the impact of media in creating awareness . Ma’am also wished everyone International Day of Families and wanted everyone to maintain social distance during this tough phase.
