INTERACTIVE SESSION ON “LET’S TALK ABOUT PUBERTY” FOR CLASS V GIRLS

“Change is the pathway to growth.”

Adolescence comes with its fair share of changes- physical, psychological, emotional & social. It is a very challenging time for children as their bodies and emotions undergo change in multiple ways. They may feel awkward, afraid, helpless and confused at times if these concerns are not addressed in an appropriate manner. Hence it becomes imperative to address confusions, misconceptions and concerns of children during this period of change so that they can deal with all changes positively and go ahead in life confidently.

In sync with this an interactive session was organized by the Health & Wellness Programme under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools on 25 February 2020 for Class V girls. The Session was conducted by Dr. Rekha Soni (School Doctor), using the School Cinema Movie “Let’s Talk Puberty”.  

Through this session, the girls came to know about physical, emotional, hormonal and social changes that occur during Puberty. They were able to understand the changes they would experience in the coming years and how to manage them with proper sleep, diet and hygiene. The meaning of puberty was well grasped by the girl students. Mood changes and variations in energy level were explained well by Dr. Rekha. The students understood the importance of balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, taking proper sound sleep, participating in outdoor games and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene for staying healthy and fit. Dr. Soni provided useful ways with which they can look after themselves at this time so they can cope with the changes effectively. Students shared their concerns, doubts and feelings with the doctor without any inhibition and felt empowered.

Dr. Soni summarized the session by talking about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. They encouraged the students to talk to their mothers, nurse, doctor, teachers, counsellors and Wing In charge regarding this important phase of their growth for further support and guidance.

DAY CAMP OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES AND ADVENTUROUS ACTIVITIES

To explore and chisel the innate talents of students and to make the learning more fun based and experiential, a “Multiple Intelligence Camp” was organized on February 25, 2020 for the Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School.

The students of Classes III to V were involved in a plethora of activities based on multiple intelligences. While Kinesthetic Skills were developed through ‘Flying Fox’ and ‘Let’s Go Coding’, ‘Dance 60’ helped them to exercise with rhythm, ‘Gravity Maze’ & ‘Trudie Twist’ helped to develop their cognitive skills. ‘Fashion Academy’ and ‘Pottery Making’ focused on their artistic talents. ‘Tech Mantra Robotics’ helped the students to understand basic gear systems to develop robots and maneuver them.

The activities based on eight multiple intelligences ensured that each child got an exposure to all the intelligences which in turn helped them to gain confidence and learn in a fun-filled way.

MATRIBHASHA DIWAS

MATRIBHASHA DIWAS CELEBRATED AT BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ,SECTOR 4, GURUGRAM

At Blue Bells , we believe in ‘Unity in Diversity’ where  the students with different cultural backgrounds and speaking varied languages, forming a heterogeneous group learn in a conducive and congenial environment. Mother Tongue plays a very important role in building up a child’s personality. Every year UNESCO celebrates International Mother Tongue Day on February 21 to promote unity in diversity and international understanding through multilingualism and multiculturalism.

To promote the dissemination of mother tongue and create an awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions, the school celebrated Matribhasha Diwas on February 21, 2020 under the directives of CBSE (Academics, Research, Training and Innovation). Its main aim was to sensitize students about the need of effective use of Mother Tongueand also highlight the linguistic diversity of our country. The learning and teaching of Mother Tongue further enables the students to develop a better understanding and have a clarity of thoughts. The Senior Council members of the school under the directions of the Hindi Faculty of Primary Wing conducted a Creative Writing activity with the students of Class IV on the topic – “ An Ideal Nation and Ideal Student”. The students wrote thought-provoking slogans and paragraphs highlighting the importance of discipline, punctuality, sincerity, honesty, integrity  and truthfulness in developing an ideal personality.  

The spirit behind the celebration was to hone the communication skills and proficiency in Mother Tongue in the students.

A COMMITMENT TOWARDS EXCELLENCE: INAUGURAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC SESSION

The Academic year commenced on February 20, 2020 for Classes X and XII. To mark the occasion the first Morning Assembly was conducted by the newly elected members of the Student Council. The theme for the Assembly was ‘New Beginning’ and all the features were interwoven around that. The faculty members blessed the students and urged them to have resolute focus to achieve their targets. They also asked them to approach them in case they feel stuck up anywhere and all the members of the school will heartily lend a helping hand.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school wished them luck for the future. She further added that right choices with an absolute right earnest will give an optimum result. She wanted all the students to believe in themselves to chart their own success story.

UNWRAPPING LEARNING PACKAGES

‘UNWRAPPING LEARNING PACKAGES AN INTEGRATED CARNIVAL- CHAPTER 2019-20’

Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram organized a two-day integrated carnival ‘Unwrapping Learning Packages-chapter 2019-20’, for the tiny tots of the Primary Wing upkeeping the sensitive theme of ‘Say No to Plastic’.

The carnival was conceptualized by the Team at The Learning and Development Centre ‘The Learning Space’ under the dexterous guidance of Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovations. Ms. Soumya Gulati says, “This was a required dream platform for students to showcase their varied talent and their learning progression across grades 3-5. Seeing your work, displayed and being appreciated one feels motivated to excel. For me childhood is to be celebrated and through this carnival we strive to do the same.” Along with the students, parents were engaged in the Carnival who appreciated the Learning Progression and Thematic Transdisciplinary Approach that wrapped the whole celebration. There was 100 percent participation of the students. Parents’ involvement was tremendous and appreciable. Neighbouring schools were also invited to be part of this collaborative learning process.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS graced the occasion by her benign presence. ‘Unwrapping Learning Packages’ was indeed an example of edutainment wherein learning happened through fun-filled activities. Each subject pavilion presented two themes’ ‘Natural Phenomenon and Resources’ and ‘How the World Works’ in the most innovative and creative manner. The sports pavilion was themed ‘Clean –A Thon’ showcasing commitment towards saving marine life and keeping the surrounding clean. Sand Art Sculpture and Times Square conveyed the message of “Say No to Plastics” to apprise all about reducing the usage of Single Use Plastic. The astronomy club presentation comprised of students explaining the launching of a rocket and exploration of the space.The event which also included hands on experiments, Robotics presentation, THOTS, games, musical table presentation pottery, nukkad natak based on Saving Environment, folk dances from different states enthralled each and every one.

The Health & Wellness Team under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS created an impressive display - ‘ELIXIR: Find Your Essence’. The stall presented a kaleidoscopic view of various activities, programmes and events for the students, parents and teachers through aesthetically designed Display Boards. This added a Midas touch to the event by showcasing a thoughtful mindset. The parents were thoroughly engrossed and motivated through the inspirational movies that were screened at the School Cinema Movie Theatre. The movies gave an insight on different values, life skills and emotions that need to be understood for the comprehensive approach and growth of an individual. All activities were based on the major themes – Values and Life Skills . THOTS corner included thinking games like ‘Attrifive, Emojiknot, Stack the Muffins, Honeycomb, Astromania and Walk -A- Block etc. The parents were mesmerized by the presentation given by the students and earnestly participated in all the activities and games.

The ICT corner, under the able guidance of Ms. Anshuka Aneja - Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools , displayed a myriad of activities for the parents. The students explained about Tux Paint drawing tools and Scratch animation software games. Parents were also quizzed on the precautionary measures for Cyber Safety. All were spell bound by the football tactics of ‘Robby Bonny’- The Robot.

A Food counter by the Home Science department carried out sale of Muffins, Pizzas and Bhel puri , butter corn, and the proceeds would be used for a noble cause as part of the Community Outreach Programme of the school.

ZAI JIAN 2020…PHIR MILENGE’-FAREWELL CEREMONY

Schooldays are the most prized and golden days in one’s life. Unfolding memories of school days is a way of holding onto the things one loves to cherish and never wishes to lose them.To make this journey more memorable, the students of class XI of Blue Bells Model School, Sector 4, Gurugram hosted a Farewell Ceremony -‘ZaiJian 2020...PhirMilenge’ for the outgoing batch of 2020  on February 11,  2020.

The valedictory event began with themusical Ganesh Vandana. The students of Class XI put forth a mix of astounding dance performances, melodious group songs, monologue, poem recitation and pulsating music that garlanded the vibrant ambience. A mesmerising ‘Talent Hunt Show’ which was conducted for the outgoing students enthralled the gathering. Titles were conferred on  class XII students on the basis of their exhibited prowess. Kamya Vats was crowned as Miss Blue Bells and Tanay Gaur as Mr. Blue Bells.Mr. Talented and Ms. Talented title was clinched by Aditya Singh and Yaghika Beniwal. Mr. Popular and Ms. Popular title was clinched by Om Singhal and  Anshika Goyal , Ms. Charismatic was Mannat Arora and Mr. Dynamic title was bagged by Darpan Hans. Trend Setter (Boy ) title was bagged by Pratham Sharma and Trend Setter (Girl) by Anshita Raghav. Agniva Bose was declared as Gentleman of the Year and Diva of the Year was Kavya Nijhawan. Style Icon(Girl) was Aastha and Style Icon (Boy) was Deepanshu Aggarwal .

CITATION  CEREMONY ORGANIZED WITH UTMOST ZEAL AT BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL, SECTOR 4, GURUGRAM

To wish good luck and instill confidence in students appearing for AISSE and AISSCE 2020, a Hawan was performed by Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram on February 7,  2020.Chanting of Shlokas and prayers created a perfect ambience to invoke divine blessings for better results. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS graced the auspicious occasion with her benign presence.

On this pious day Citation Ceremony was organized to acknowledge the talents of outgoing students and motivate them to hone their skills and prosper with time. The enthusiastic presence of the parents reiterated the faith they had in the school and was a live testimony of the bond they shared with the organization. Each student, who is going to appear for the class XII Board Exam, was felicitated with a Citation during the Ceremony that highlighted their specific prowess and achievements of the bygone years. The children walked up to the stage to light a lamp and move ahead for a bright future.

The Director of the school addressed the gathering by sharing her words of wisdom and blessing the students to do their best in the future and become a role model for others A befitting and an emotional close to the Ceremony was when the parents and teachers showered rose petals as their blessings on the outgoing batch of Class XII.

The newly appointed Head boy, Viraj Kanwar and Head Girl, Tanvi Beniwal expressed their keenness to shoulder their duties with earnestness. Priyanka Sharma was appointed as Health and Wellness Ambassador. The other elected Student Council members were Sports Captain, Literary Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Fine Art Secretary, Science Wizard, Maths Wizard, Commerce Wizard, Humanities Wizard, Design and Computer Wizard and House Captains who took an oath to be true to their posts and exhibit loyalty. TRIP TO ‘A VILLAGE IN CITY’ – SURAJGARH

Travel expands your horizons and school life cannot be complete without the fun of trips. These trips are tailor made to facilitate the students to know and understand the real, multicultural world. A host of activities are undertaken as a part of trips which act as a catalyst to think out of the box and broaden the outlook. The school discreetly organized a trip to Surajgarh for the students of Class VII and VIII on January 30, 2020.

This trip was meticulously planned to add fun and enthusiasm during the ongoing academic session and infuse the spark of energy before the commencement of the annual exams. It extended a much needed break from the hectic daily schedule and an opportunity for the facilitators and learners to bond with each other. The students were made to team up in groups and participate in several activities to understand the essence of team building. As the students left, the brightness of their memories glowed in their eyes. It was indeed a day full of fun and never ending excitement.

BASANT PANCHMI

GLORIOUS DAY OF BASANT PANCHMI CELEBRATED AT BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL. The school celebrated Basant Panchmi, the festival which marks the end of the winter season and onset of spring on January 29, 2020. The premises was abuzz with the festive spirit and reiterated the different moods of this festival, teachers were all dressed in yellow colour keeping attune with the ripened mustard. The occasion was marked by a special Morning Assembly embedded with prayers, hymns and offerings to the Goddess Saraswati. The ambience was filled with jubilation. The students were explained about the importance of the festival. The Goddess of art, learning, knowledge and wisdom, Maa Saraswati was worshipped with utmost dedication, enthusiasm and new sense of optimism.   hashtag
