AT BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL, SECTOR 4, GURUGRAM

To express the gratitude to the divine bliss of God i.e. Mother,  the  school celebrated Mother’s Day on May  9, 2020 on a virtual platform .  The celebration was a testimony to the school’s commitment of reaching out to them in these challenging times along with strengthening the bond they shared. The occasion was graced by Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director( Academic Development and Innovation), BBGS.

The students of Class V D organized a special orchestrated morning Assembly. The assembly was followed by a special craft activity named 'Be Creative While At Home' for all the mothers present  in the assembly. The mothers participated in the craft activity enthusiastically and loved working with their children.

FIRST ONLINE INTER HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION

We at Blue Bells are committed to create and foster an environment of excellence in learning. We have in place a well-regulated system aiming at nurturing the core competencies- Communication skills, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Collaboration. In sync with the same vision , to capture the refined streak of creativity, an Online Inter House Debate Competition was organized by the Senior Student Council for Class XI on the topic "Graffiti is an illegal art, should it be punished?" on May 5,2020.

The times are challenging , no doubt but not so dear that it costs us our imagination and eloquence. This pandemic has not succeeded to freeze the ability of the Blue Bellians to creatively conceptualize and express, rather their imagination is much more free flowing today. The Online Debate Competition was a welcome respite from the lockdown blues and was a medium for the budding orators to channelize their ideas and thoughts. The event was adorned by the gracious presence of Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director ( Academic Development & Innovation ), . Eminent and experienced faculty members of the school adjudged the event. Speaking on the occasion, Madam Soumya applauded the efforts of the team and announced for the First Online Inter House Stand Up Comedy Fest for the students of Classes IX to XII. The esteemed panel of jury also lauded the research done by the debaters to present the debate in a convincing manner .

The spirit of the debaters testified that such despondent times are no match to the infallible will of the Blue Bellians.

LABOURS' DAY

"Believe in dignity of labours, whether with head or hand, the World owes no one a living but it owes each one of us an opportunity to make a living"

Blue Bells Model School celebrated Labours’ Day with full zeal and joy.

The first ever virtual assembly was conducted by Class V C to acknowledge the dedication and participation of the workers who work relentlessly for the entire year. The assembly started with regular features including thought of the day, news etc. The students highlighted the historical events that contributed to the emergence of labour rights and the significance of the day in the present time. Students sang a ‘Thank you’ song and delivered speech on the role of multitasking staff (MTS) in school. Poem recitation and lively Dance performance were also presented by the students. There was no better way to end the assembly but with our school song, ‘HUM HAI BLUE BELLS KI SHAAN’.

The virtual assembly was organized to forge a better understanding of our helpers among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts.

Honourable madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director and madam Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director IT and Principal madam Alka Singh were also a part our first virtual assembly. They talked about the importance of the day and the contribution of workers. They were overwhelmed and proud by this awe-inspiring gesture by our tiny kids and appreciated their efforts.

This was not all for the day. Our innovative students created beautiful ‘Thank You’ cards and paper flowers as a mark of respect for them.

Dos and Don’ts of Cyber Safety

The internet allows for access to information 24x7. However, with the many benefits that it brings, there are safety and security concerns as well.

Spending a lot of time online leaves students more vulnerable not only to distractions but also to threats in cyber space.

To create awareness on Cyber Safety and Security during online and virtual learning, Blue Bells Public school organised a webinar with renowned Cyber Security Expert, Mr. Rakshit Tandon, for its students, teachers and parents on Monday, 4 May from 3.30 to 5.00 p.m.

The aim of the webinar was to help everyone understand the risks faced during this period of virtual learning and how to maintain safety when online. Mr. Tandon shared guidelines to enable secure teaching and learning. He created awareness around different types of frauds including helpline frauds, moratorium frauds, email scams. He also explained the importance of maintaining password security and installation and regular update of antivirus software. Besides these measures, he shared ways in which everyone could guard themselves against online predators and be safe without losing on the advantages that the internet provides.

In his talk, Mr. Tandon also spoke of behavioural issues such as mood swings, sleep disorders, isolation and frustration that are prevalent amongst teenagers as well as adults due to an addiction to social media.

The lively and engaging talk was appreciated and resonated with everyone as they could connect and identify with the issues.

In  the present situation of COVID 19 , wherein we have to maintain social distancing , the Blue Bellians organized a special assembly on a Virtual platform showcasing their spirit that nothing can stop them from honouring their commitment.   The first ever virtual assembly was conducted by Class V C to acknowledge the dedication and participation of the workers who work relentlessly for the entire year. The presence of Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director ( Academic Development & Innovation) and Ms. Anshuka Aneja , Deputy Director –IT , BBGS made this moment momentous for all .

Speaking on the occasion, Madam Soumya and Madam Anshuka appreciated the voluminous effort of the students and teachers. They talked about the importance of the day and the contribution of workers. They were overwhelmed and proud by this awe-inspiring gesture by our tiny tots  and appreciated their efforts.   Ms. Alka Singh , Principal proposed the Vote of Thanks and also complemented  and applauded students’ and teachers’ efforts for making the event a success. She rightly quoted that it is labour indeed who puts the difference on everything and thanked them for their untiring and wholehearted contribution for the school.

Happy labour's Day

Blue Bells Model School Remembers and Thanks each and every member of our support staff. Without them we are incomplete. Students made sure that their support staff feels special and connected even during lockdown. They made video calls to them and enquired of their well being , wished a happy labour day and offered their gratitude for their painstaking efforts. The support staff of the school felt overwhelmed and blessed the students for this wonderful gesture. Happy Labour's Day

LET’S TALK ABOUT PUBERTY

INTERACTIVE SESSION ON “LET’S TALK ABOUT PUBERTY” FOR CLASS V GIRLS

“Change is the pathway to growth.”

Adolescence comes with its fair share of changes- physical, psychological, emotional & social. It is a very challenging time for children as their bodies and emotions undergo change in multiple ways. They may feel awkward, afraid, helpless and confused at times if these concerns are not addressed in an appropriate manner. Hence it becomes imperative to address confusions, misconceptions and concerns of children during this period of change so that they can deal with all changes positively and go ahead in life confidently.

In sync with this an interactive session was organized by the Health & Wellness Programme under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools on 25 February 2020 for Class V girls. The Session was conducted by Dr. Rekha Soni (School Doctor), using the School Cinema Movie “Let’s Talk Puberty”.  

Through this session, the girls came to know about physical, emotional, hormonal and social changes that occur during Puberty. They were able to understand the changes they would experience in the coming years and how to manage them with proper sleep, diet and hygiene. The meaning of puberty was well grasped by the girl students. Mood changes and variations in energy level were explained well by Dr. Rekha. The students understood the importance of balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, taking proper sound sleep, participating in outdoor games and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene for staying healthy and fit. Dr. Soni provided useful ways with which they can look after themselves at this time so they can cope with the changes effectively. Students shared their concerns, doubts and feelings with the doctor without any inhibition and felt empowered.

Dr. Soni summarized the session by talking about the importance of healthy eating and exercise. They encouraged the students to talk to their mothers, nurse, doctor, teachers, counsellors and Wing In charge regarding this important phase of their growth for further support and guidance.

DAY CAMP OF MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES AND ADVENTUROUS ACTIVITIES

To explore and chisel the innate talents of students and to make the learning more fun based and experiential, a “Multiple Intelligence Camp” was organized on February 25, 2020 for the Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School.

The students of Classes III to V were involved in a plethora of activities based on multiple intelligences. While Kinesthetic Skills were developed through ‘Flying Fox’ and ‘Let’s Go Coding’, ‘Dance 60’ helped them to exercise with rhythm, ‘Gravity Maze’ & ‘Trudie Twist’ helped to develop their cognitive skills. ‘Fashion Academy’ and ‘Pottery Making’ focused on their artistic talents. ‘Tech Mantra Robotics’ helped the students to understand basic gear systems to develop robots and maneuver them.

The activities based on eight multiple intelligences ensured that each child got an exposure to all the intelligences which in turn helped them to gain confidence and learn in a fun-filled way.

MATRIBHASHA DIWAS

MATRIBHASHA DIWAS CELEBRATED AT BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ,SECTOR 4, GURUGRAM

At Blue Bells , we believe in ‘Unity in Diversity’ where  the students with different cultural backgrounds and speaking varied languages, forming a heterogeneous group learn in a conducive and congenial environment. Mother Tongue plays a very important role in building up a child’s personality. Every year UNESCO celebrates International Mother Tongue Day on February 21 to promote unity in diversity and international understanding through multilingualism and multiculturalism.

To promote the dissemination of mother tongue and create an awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions, the school celebrated Matribhasha Diwas on February 21, 2020 under the directives of CBSE (Academics, Research, Training and Innovation). Its main aim was to sensitize students about the need of effective use of Mother Tongueand also highlight the linguistic diversity of our country. The learning and teaching of Mother Tongue further enables the students to develop a better understanding and have a clarity of thoughts. The Senior Council members of the school under the directions of the Hindi Faculty of Primary Wing conducted a Creative Writing activity with the students of Class IV on the topic – “ An Ideal Nation and Ideal Student”. The students wrote thought-provoking slogans and paragraphs highlighting the importance of discipline, punctuality, sincerity, honesty, integrity  and truthfulness in developing an ideal personality.  

The spirit behind the celebration was to hone the communication skills and proficiency in Mother Tongue in the students.

A COMMITMENT TOWARDS EXCELLENCE: INAUGURAL ASSEMBLY FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC SESSION

“Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream leads to the goal.”

The Academic year commenced on February 20, 2020 for Classes X and XII. To mark the occasion the first Morning Assembly was conducted by the newly elected members of the Student Council. The theme for the Assembly was ‘New Beginning’ and all the features were interwoven around that. The faculty members blessed the students and urged them to have resolute focus to achieve their targets. They also asked them to approach them in case they feel stuck up anywhere and all the members of the school will heartily lend a helping hand.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school wished them luck for the future. She further added that right choices with an absolute right earnest will give an optimum result. She wanted all the students to believe in themselves to chart their own success story.
