Class Assembly -VIII

'Every day is a gift from above, a reminder that we all are here for a reason.'

The students of Class VIII D conducted their assembly on the occasion of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti. The assembly began with the words of B R Ambedkar, "If you believe in living a respectable life, you believe in self-help which is the best help!" The speech on the Baisakhi Festival threw light on reasons why Baisakhi is celebrated all over the nation. A video was showcased featuring inspirational and motivational words of B R Ambedkar in order to guide the audience towards the attainment of leadership qualities in them. Nukad Natak and a workshop conducted by Cyber Congress on ‘Cyber Awareness’ were eye-openers for the audience as these proved to be informative to a great extent. The students were made to understand the need to be aware about the nitty-gritties of cyber-crimes happening around them and knowingly or unknowingly they might fall in trap to them. The assembly came to an end with the stirring words of the Wing Incharge – Ms. Anshu M. Kumar emphasizing on the correct usage of internet.

B R Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar "Scroll Making" activity was conducted for the students of classes III -V on April 15, 2019. Students designed their own scrolls using eco-friendly material . Class V students made a Preamble on the scroll, whereas the students of Classes IV & III wrote about "My Rights" and "My Duties ". The objective of the activity was to apprise the students about Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution towards framing the constitution of our country . The students saluted this great leader on his birth anniversary with their creativity.

CYBER SAFETY CAMPAIGN “BE CYBER SMART”

Internet has opened up a whole new world for everyone. Teaching children how to remain secure in a world full of connectivity and technology is the need of an hour.  To sensitize the students on the use of the technology wisely, the school has initiated a Cyber Safety Awareness Program under the guidance of   Ms Anshuka  Aneja , Deputy Director , IT (BBGS) .

A special assembly on Cyber Security and Safety Rules “Be Cyber Smart” was organized for the students of Primary Wing on April 15, 2019. Dramatics Club students presented a Street Play “Smart. Safe. Responsible” enlightening the children about the Do’s & Don’ts while using Cyber space like various social networking sites and social applications. Peer Educators from the Middle Wing gave a presentation to create awareness about keeping personal information secure on the internet. The students were made aware about the following :-

·        Use internet wisely to gather information if required.

·        Visit websites for information under the supervision and guidance of Parents or Facilitators.

·        Share their ID details like usernames and passwords with their Parents in case they have an E-mail account.

·         Discuss their online activities with Parents about games, if they play any.

·         Follow internet rules. Understand the Age Criteria for Social Sites and avoid creating an account.

·         Use Security Filters.

·         Use proper privacy settings and do not share location and photographs with strangers online.

·          Understand netiquettes. Be careful, responsible and safe Tech users.

·         Use Encryption Softwares.

As a reflection of what students learnt from the presentations, a Poster Making & Jingle Making Activity was conducted for students of classes IV & V. Students used their creativity to compose jingles and made illustrations. A “Know My Cyber Space Awareness Questionnaire” was given to Class III to understand their internet usage and provide them tips to stay safe.

EMPOWERING THE NETIZENS WITH NETIQUETTES: CYBER AWARENESS WEEK

Internet has evolved into a force strong enough to reflect the greatest hopes and fears of those who use it. The Internet treats censorship as a malfunction and routes around it. Our alma mater aims at enriching the educational mindscape of each individual child and in catering to all round development of child’s personality.

Under the inspirational leadership of Madam Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director-IT, BBGS, the school celebrated the Cyber Awareness Week from April 15 to April 18, 2019. Special Morning Assembly was organized by the Primary Wing, Middle Wing and Senior Wing on April 15, April 16 and April 18, 2019 respectively. The motive of the each assembly was to sensitize each and every member towards the right use of technology so that it becomes bliss for all. Along with all the regular assembly features blended with the theme effectively, the students presented a street play emphasizing on the need of Safe Internet Practices highlighting the problems faced by Gen Now in this technology driven era. Peer educators from the Middle Wing presented their research on Internet Usage - pro and cons via a PPT presentation along with Nukkad Natak. The students were made aware about the following:-

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ma’am appreciated the efforts of the entire team and shared her views on Internet and social networking sites and urged all the members to be vigilant and careful while using them.

CULTIVATING INNOVATIVE LEARNING : AN EXPRESSION  THROUGH PERFROMING ARTS

There are two gifts we should give to our children, one is roots and the other is wings. We at Blue Bells strongly believe in imbibing in our children a strong value system which empowers them to be resolute towards their goals and recognize their inherent potentials and the uniqueness within so that they dream big and can soar high in life with commitment and conviction.  In sync with this vision , the morning Assembly on April 11, 2019  by Class XII F was an exemplary depiction of the power of   performing arts in honing and shaping the personality of an individual .

All the assembly features were weaved magically on this theme and a picturesque image was created by the students wherein everyone was spellbound and mesmerized by the presentation showcasing the positive impact of dance and music in expressing our feelings and channelizing the energy into productive practices.

 The students gave an orchestrated performance where there was a perfect blend of song , powerful MIME act  ( self composed poem by  Depanshi , alumnus) and self composed poem by  Raunaq showcasing the different feelings one undergoes in different stages of life. On the Spot Painting encapsulating the theme of the assembly by Darpan Hans , Head Boy  added a divine touch and gave a perfect closure to the assembly along with the scintillating dance which left the audience gasping for more .

Baisakhi Celebration

“Plant the seed of determination in the dreams &imagination to grow the harvest of Invention – Be an innovator”.

Baisakhi – The Harvest Festival, marks the beginning of the solar year. People of North India, particularly Punjab thank God for good harvest. The school celebrated Baisakhi with a great zeal and fervour. Starting from the morning assembly with theme based activities, the day was full of joy and learning for the children.

A special assembly “Mera Punjab - Meri Shaan”was organised by Indira Gandhi House for the students of Primary Wing on April 10, 2019. Besides the regular features like Prayer, News and Thought of the day, the school choir presented a soulful rendition that carried the true essence of the celebration. Dressed in typical folk attire, students presented a foot tapping Bhangra dance. A talk on the importance of Baisakhi apprising their peers about the rich culture and heritage of the country was given by the students.

Bringing their inherent creative talent to the fore students made Dhol using eco-friendly material.

Health – the Greatest Wealth

Approach the new session with resolve to find opportunities hidden in each new day.

The students of Middle Wing witnessed the general assembly conducted by the students of Class VIII. The choir melodiously presented a welcome song which was a treat to the ears.  A healthy lifestyle not only changes the body, it changes the mind, attitude and mood. Throwing light on the ways through which students can keep themselves healthy Krisha of Class VIII C delivered a speech on 'Importance of leading a healthy lifestyle'. She emphasized that the adoption and maintenance of healthy lifestyle habits is essential to the students' development, health and success. She spoke at length that having healthy eating habits has a positive influence on the growth and health, as it makes it easier for them to learn. Regular physical activity promotes concentration, which is a key factor in educational success, and creates a feeling of well-being.

As motivation gets the students going, discipline keeps them growing. The students were therefore acquainted with the necessary tips to abide by certain rules to maintain discipline that would help in their personality development. Discipline is basically a set of rules and regulations that tells them about the proper code of behaviour. It is a self-improvement practice. This presentation was beneficial in making the students understand that discipline in school life is very important for them.

Doctor’s Talk

WHO is focusing on universal health coverage for this year’s World Health Day, on April 07, 2019. Key to achieving it is ensuring that everyone can obtain the care they need, when they need it, right in the heart of the community. The Health & Wellness Programme of the school aims to provide accurate and age appropriate information under the inspiring guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. In sync with the same objective, the Health & Wellness Resource Center organized a “Doctor's Talk"  by the school doctor Dr. Sanjay Bhatt for the students of Class III- V on April 08, 2019.  

The doctor apprised the students about the benefits of Balanced Diet and all the components of nutritious food plan. He shared with the students that being healthy means keeping well, which includes eating healthily and being active, and also feeling happy. He further added on that to be healthy they need to make sure they eat a range of foods from all of the different food groups – vegetables and fruits, starchy foods like bread, rice, potatoes and pasta, dairy foods like milk and yogurt, and protein foods like lentils and beans.

The doctor insisted on the importance of an exercise regime to stay fit and healthy. As a part of personal care he shared some first aid tips with the little ones. As a reflection of Doctor’s Talk students showcased their knowledge and creativity by making “ First Aid Flippers “ with some first aid tips. It was an interactive session wherein students shared their views after the session.

TURNING OVER A NEW LEAF: FIRST ASSEMBLY OF THE NEW ACADEMIC SESSION

“It’s a new day, new energy, new ideas and it’s time to bring in some sunshine to let each shine through in their own special way.”

This year marks the brave embarking of the school into another year of glory, grandeur and prominence. It also ushers in the challenges of preparing the young people to live and work in the information age. Our younger generation needs to be prepared with the abilities to think critically and to create genuinely, and to communicate and cooperate effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures. A student should be continually exposed to new knowledge and gain insight into the future, the trends, the opportunities and new thinking which is opening up new vistas for the Generation Y.

In sync with the same objective, the first assembly of the Academic Session 2019-20 was presented by the newly elected members of the Student Council. Mannat Arora, School Ambassador mesmerized everyone with her diction and thought-provoking presentation on the topic, ‘The Strong Need the Weak More’. She was heartily lauded by all.

Darpan Hans, Head Boy, Yagika Beniwal, Head Girl and Mannat Arora, School Ambassador gave a warm and floral welcome to Ms. Alka Singh, the new Principal of the school.

The students were also apprised about the thumb rules to be followed in the school like:

· Be regular and punctual

· Respect your peers

· Respect your teachers

· Respect the school property

· Wear proper school uniform

· Maintain proper hygiene

· Follow 3 R’s

The assembly was well appreciated by all and closed on a promising note that we should take all the opportunities in life with utmost courage to be successful as right CHANCES and CHOICES would lead to a CHANGE which would make life enriching.

Talent Hunt Programme 2019-20

‘Hunt for the inner talent and sharpen it with the blade of persistence.’

With the aim of providing an opportunity to the students to come forward and portray their hidden talents and overcome stage fear ‘Talent Hunt Programme 2019-20’ was organized for the students of Class III. 

On day-4 of the Programme, the students of Class III-D exhibited their talents like poem recitation, story narration and mime. Students showcased their skills at classical and contemporary dance. They also showed their expertise at public speaking.

The proceedings went smoothly displaying the unmatchable talent.Overall, the Talent Hunt was legendary. Everyone captured the performances in their minds, making great memories.
