INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION

To mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to spread awareness amongst the audience about the teachings and principles imparted by the Father of the Nation an Inter-House Debate Competition was held for the students of Classes VI to VIII. The participants were prepared well and presented their views with confidence in favour or against the motion of the topic – Gandhi Ji is still relevant today. The interjectors counter attacked the speakers with robust questions. The audience was deeply engrossed during the session. The judges adjudged Nehru House as the winning team followed by Indira Gandhi House and Tagore House on Second and Third Position respectively. The Principal – Madam C. Dhawan – appreciated the contestants for their commendable performance. Ms. Bindu Vashishth also addressed the audience on behalf of all the judges and educated the students about the teachings of Gandhi Ji that can be adhered in today’s era.

World Food Day

‘Blessed are those who get to enjoy three meals every day…. Let us thank God for blessing us with food’

The students of Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School, celebrated World Food Day with awareness and merriment.

Students brought healthy tiffins from their homes and shared their food with each other. This sensitized them towards sharing and having a balanced diet with lots of seasonal fruits, salads and other healthy food items.

Students were encouraged by their respective teachers to follow a healthy lifestyle and have nutritious food.

NAVRATRI AND DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION

Blue Bells Model School wishes a very Happy Navratri and Dussehra.

“A time for celebration,

A time for victory of good over bad,

A time when world see the example of power of God.

Let us continue the same true spirit.”

Primary Wing celebrated ‘Navratri’ and ‘Dussehra’ with great fervor and devotion. A special assembly was conducted by Class V A to convey significance of Dussehra. The highlights of the assembly were mesmerising poem, didactic skit and a marvellous Dance performance which were enjoyed by the students. The celebration was to mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil. The assembly concluded with a spectacular video based on story of Dussehra and its significance. The presentation of the students was applauded by all. Everyone was in a state of absolute bliss.

Students from classes III-V were adorned in attractive outfits for their performance as main characters of the great epic Ramayana. They also presented traditional dances- Dandiya and Garba in a graceful manner with great enthusiasm. Everyone enjoyed the festivity. Principal Ms. Chandan Dhawan appreciated the students for their scintillating performance and blessed them.

Cybermania 2018

 ‘Technology is not just a tool, it can give learners a voice that they may not have had before.’

Technology can become the ‘wings’ that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before- if we allow it. To achieve this objective, Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, under the learned and visionary leadership of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools organized CYBERMANIA 2018, a mega Inter-school IT fest, on October 13, 2018 in which students from renowned schools of Gurugram participated with unparalleled spirit and fervour, making it a great feat. The purpose was to provide platform to the students to hone and prune their talents and IT skills in the unfathomable world of technology. The audience was enthralled by a euphorious rendition of shloka by the school choir. The participating teams were formally welcomed by the Principal of the school. She also emphasized on the role of ICT in opening varied avenues in the field of education.  An introductory video was shown. A series of twelve competitions related to Information Technology was designed for the students to exhibit their creativity and IT skills in the charismatic world of technology. The array of competitions were ‘Voice Choice’ where students had to lip-sync with the clip from the English movies, ‘GRAFix ’-to design e-poster using Adobe Photoshop, ‘Celluloid’ to create a movie, ‘Cyber Sell’ to make an advertisement in Flash, ‘Director’s Cut’ to make a thematic music video on Impact of Social Media on Youth, ‘Tech Beats’ to prepare an audio clip, ‘Techlathon’ to present their views through a PPT on ‘The use of technology for Safety and Security in The Millennium City, Gurugram, ‘Rock IT’ to perform a choreography based on the theme-Technology Brings People Together’, ‘Creatica’ to create a website, ‘Picture Perfect’ to click and edit a photograph with caption, ‘ROBOTrix (Level-1 and Level-2)’ to create Robots as per the given problem statements and rules. Through the plethora of events, the adroit artists unveiled their prowess. The members of jury were distinguished personalities from different walks of life. Decked in a plethora of vibrant colours and reverberating beats, students performed a foot tapping dance full of energy, skill and enthusiasm as a part of the valedictory ceremony. The kaleidoscopic glimpses of the activities were reflected through a Power Point Presentation. Mr. Sushil Chawla, the revered judge highlighted the importance of such competitions as they provide the students, a platform to learn from each other. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, adorned the auspicious occasion with her benign presence. She presented the well-deserved certificates and awards to the winners and admired the assiduous efforts put in by the participants. Ms. Anshuka Aneja appreciated the endeavours of the students and applauded them for making the event a commendable one.

Cyber Awareness Assembly

International Day of Girl child

“Women are the real architects of the society.”

Primary Wing students of Blue Bells Model School conducted a special assembly on the theme ‘International Day of Girl Child’ on Oct 8, 2018. Students for Class III D focused on equal opportunities for the girls through a Powerpoint presentation. It was based on women who contributed to the society and have achieved success and appreciation in various fields. Importance of education for empowering girls was highlighted through a beautiful poem. It was followed by a melodious song reflecting that girls are the most beautiful miracle of life.

The students were also felicitated with trophies, medals and certificates for their outstanding performance in different Inter School Competitions by Primary Wing Incharge. Their faces beamed with joy as they received the prizes.

• Tanish Dhiman (V B) clinched I prize in Rachnatmak Sammelan organized by Rachna Sagar Publications.
• Aadhya and Avani Savarna from Class IV A and IV D respectively bagged II prize in ‘Folk Art’ event organized by St. Xaviers International School.
• Garima (IV A), Aaradhya (III D) secured I position in Umbrella Designing in Craft-O-Mania organized by Shalom Hills International School.
• In an another event ‘Spellathon’  organized by Shalom Hills International School, Saksham Gupta and Arsh Jain from Class V fetched II prize.
• Bhanu Pratap Singh Tikania from class V brought laurels to the school by fetching Silver Medal in 6^th Inter School Open Karate Championship and 4^th Delhi NCR Open Karate Championship.

Gandhi Jayanti,

Gandhi ji has always inspired the countrymen by his principles, dedication and mission to free India and his philosophy of truth and non-violence. In continuation to the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti, interesting activities were planned for the students of Primary Wing on Oct 3, 2018. Students of Classes III and V made antique ‘Spectacles’ using bangles, sticks and rubber bands. Students of Class IV made ‘Khadaus’. All the activities were unique and reflected students’ creativity to a great extent.

National Workshop on child’s rights education for Empowerment & Well being

Peer Educators participated in “National Workshop on child’s rights education for Empowerment & Well being”

Venue: Science centre, Pragati maidan

Health & Wellness team constantly provides support and training to peer educators to enhance their knowledge and understanding about different topics. These peer educator’s helps bridging the gap between teachers and students by spreading awareness. In sync with the same objective our peer educator Divyam Gupta and peer mentor Anshita Raghav along with Life Skills facilitator Ms. Sapna Sinha attended the workshop on child’s rights education for Empowerment &Wellbeing was organized by UNICEF & Expressions India with the aim of understanding Child rights in India and to acknowledge that every child has basic fundamental rights which includes the right to:

* Life, survival and development

* Protection from violence, abuse

* an education to fulfill their potential

* express their opinions and be listened to

Dr. Jitender Nagpal welcomed the peer educators from 30 different school of Delhi and NCR. He emphasized that every school needs to have potential Peer Educators and Peer Facilitation can be used to educate those who are hard to reach through conventional methods.

He further told that the role of schools and teachers is very important in advancing the principles for child’s right as children should be taught about their rights. The school must protect the child’s integrity and introduce rights and related issues in the academic course work.

The workshop provided a platform in training peer educators so that they can further guide their peers about child’s rights not only inside the school but also outside the school so that better understanding and learning can take place.

Peer educators can be a role model for respecting the dignity and integrity of the children. In the workshop they also emphasized that with life skill education programme adolescents and young teens can handle challenging situations with confidence.

The workshop was interactive wherein peer educators expressed their views and participated actively in group discussions related to the importance of health and nutrition, abolition of child labor and respect for each and every child’s views.

Role plays were presented by different groups on different issues which are being faced by children in today’s world. The role plays created a forum for children to express their views on survival rights, protection rights and developmental rights of children.

The workshop concluded with the message that there is uproar to reinforce and strengthen rights of children not only at the policy level but personal level also. For real change to happen, every member of our society should take responsibilities to change the lives of children.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others’

The birth anniversary of Gandhi ji is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence all over the world. Primary Wing students from Class III C conducted an assembly on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti  on Oct 1, 2018. The assembly started with a speech which apprised the students about the importance of Gandhi Jayanti. A skit was also presented that showcased the Era of British Rule with special reference to 'Dandi March', 'Jallian Wallan' Incident and other important events accompanied with the musical rendition of ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. It added a spark of positivity in the assembly.

The awards for the National Level Spell Bee Competition were given in the assembly. Students from class IV and V received certificates and medals. Arsh Jain (V B), Harshit Jain (V C), Saksham Gupta (V D), Ishan Singh (IV C), Kriday Srivastava (IV B) and Kartik Atreja (IV A) were awarded with the medals and certificates for their excellent performance in International Level Spell Bee Competition. Their faces beamed with joy as they received the awards. It was indeed a proud moment.

Grandparents Day

‘The nearest thing to the love of God is the love of Grandparents.’

A grandparent is one who strengthens a child with prayer; blesses and encourages him with love and hope. There is nothing more wonderful than the love and guidance a grandparent can give to his or her grandchild. To honour the warmth, love and affection of these resplendent souls, Blue Bells Model School Sec-4, Gurugram commemorated ‘Grandparents’ Day’ on September 29, 2018.

Principal Ma’am greeted the revered guests by stating that grandparents are the prudent and experienced ones whom children turn to at all times. The students of Primary wing welcomed the grandparents by presenting a melodious song. They also enthralled everyone with the presentation of Junk music and Qwwaali. To balance the tones set by the events, fun filled games were organized for the grandparents. The keen involvement of the grandparents in the various games was indeed commendable.

To honour the warmth, love and affection of these revered souls, Blue Bells Model School commemorated INIZIO- A Beginning, Health and Wellness Fiesta, 2018-19 on 20th September 2018, organized under the aegis of Health & Wellness Programme. The theme for the same was “To celebrate the bond of love between grandparents and grandchildren”. The creative work of the students was displayed to mark the occasion. The purpose of these activities was to provide a platform to the students to express their love and gratitude towards their grandparents. Each and every grandparent appreciated the efforts of the students and showered their blessings.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion with her benign presence. She appreciated the grandparents for their enthusiastic cooperation and acknowledged their devotion in bringing up their grandchildren and imbibing graceful values in them.
