‘Mathematics is the music of reason’.

Mathematics as an expression of the human mind reflects the active will, the contemplative reason, and the desire for aesthetic perfection. Its basic elements are logic and intuition, analysis and construction, generality and individuality. If mathematics is to be understood widely, one needs to emphasize its elegance and its applications. To enjoy and know more about Maths, the school organized Ganit Week for the students of classes III to VIII on 20^th December 2018. The event commenced with the rendition of Shlokas followed by the welcome speech. An informative talk on the famous mathematician, S. Ramanujan and ‘Maths in Daily Life’ was presented by Vansh Tyagi and Vaibhav Semwal of class VIII. A series of activities were carried out to encourage students and generate their interest in Maths by enhancing their logical reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.  Students also participated in a Quiz hosted by Mr. Rahul Goel, Assistant Manager and Academic Trainer  from NIIT, Gurugram. Team Beta comprising of Vaibhav, Akshat and Bhoovi was the winning team from Middle Wing and Team Alpha with Arsh Jain, Riddhi Jain and Rishika Singh as contestants was the winner team from Primary Wing.  An array of interesting games on Odd-Even Numbers, Number Antakshari and Match Stick Puzzle was designed for classes VI to VIII. The students of Primary Wing took keen interest in Hop Scotch, 100m Obstacle Race and Relay Race. ‘WOW Cards’ as appreciation were given to the Maths teachers. The student winners were felicitated with certificates and medals. The Activity Coordinator proposed vote of thanks and congratulated students and teachers for their sincere endeavours.

?Human life is a rich fabric which gains colour and emotions within the series of situations that shape it. “Rasas are the essence of our emotions that permeate through our mind and soul. Projecting this symphony of moods, Blue Bells Model School celebrated ‘La Musique d’ ambiance-a melody of moods’ the Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Ceremony on December 15, 2018.  The occasion was graced by the benign presence of Shri Yashpal (HCS), Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Gurugram as the honourable Chief Guest. Shri Mahesh Chandra, Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools, Mrs. Saumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools were amongst the coterie of other distinguished guests.  The grand event commenced on a ceremonial note with Jyoti Prajvalan by the Chief Guest followed by formal welcome by Ms. Chandan Dhawan, the Principal of the school.

The students invoked the divine blessings through ‘Sanidhya Sharanam-Ek Vandana’.  ‘Steering towards the Zenith’ the Annual Report for the session 2017-18 was presented by Neha Sarkar, The Head Girl and Jaskaran Singh, the Head Boy of the school. The scholastic gems of the school exhibiting exemplary performance in the Board Examination were honoured by the Chief Guest for their meritorious achievement. Shri Yashpal Ji, the honoured Chief Guest for the day felicitated the proud achievers and appreciated their diligence and academic excellence. He also appreciated the school for instilling positive values and traditions in the students. He praised the school for the thought provoking theme, as life is a concordia of music and moods, so we need to amalgamate them for perfect living.  

The gala presentation ‘La Musique d’ ambiance’ depicting the melody of moods – Navras provided an astounding visual treat and enthralled the audience.  The navrasas, showcased in all their grandeur, presented the beauty of the unique human life in all its moods, swaying from one rasa to the other. From shringaar to Hasya, from Adbhuta to Vira, bringing in the Shanti and balancing it with Raudra, the Bhayanaka, the Vibhatsa and the Karuna Rasa all gracefully blended together to fabricate la vie- the life. 

Theme based dances drew an unceasing applause and captivated the guests. The props and costumes added colour to the festive occasion with the synchronized dance movement at the foot tapping music.?  

The dance drama on Nav-rasas witnessed the glitz and glamour.  The programme was an amalgamation of various hues. Emotions pertaining to Love, Joy, Wonder, Courage, Peace, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust came alive on the stage with the students displaying style and resplendence.  A glittering bonanza of theatrical play, musical performances, orchestra and dance presentations highlighted how we ourselves are responsible for the emotional turmoil in our lives and how to regulate our emotions.  

Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, the Middle Wing Incharge. 

The program culminated with the tribute to the nation through National Anthem.

CAREER CONFLUENCE

Career is an individual’s metamorphical journey through learning, work and other aspects of life. With an aim to accomplish the objective of career development and one’s inclination towards the specified intrusion into the global world, Blue Bells Model School, Sec.4, Gurugram organized a two days ‘Career Confluence’ on 30^th November and 1^st December 2018 under the guidance of   Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The Confluence was a platform which provided an opportunity to listen to learned stalwarts in the field of career counselling. . The purpose  was to apprise the students of classes IX - XII and their parents, about the wide spectrum of career choices, the students can opt for achieving their goals. The Director of Unique Psychological Services, Ms. Gagandeep Kaur, a presidential Double Gold Medalist and a Child and Clinical Psychologist, was the resource person.

She acquainted the students with a myriad of emerging careers in science, commerce and humanities.She also updated the students about the plethora of courses and institutions available. She also spoke about the off-beat and unconventional careers that students could explore.

The workshop   organized   for  the parents of students from classes 9th to 12^th on 1^st December,’18 was an edifying session for them. She presented an informative session on stream selection, effective career planning and career options. She spoke on common myths regarding career and elaborately discussed on untrodden   careers   in vivid fields which can prove to be rewarding in the future. The necessity of formulating a career plan and honing the required life skills and study skills were emphasized along with due consideration given to aptitude, interest, passion and personality type. The interactive session helped clarify several concerns regarding careers as well as reiterated the requirement for parental support in making the right choice. The session was awakening and informative, where students’ and parents’ queries were answered satisfactorily. The parents and students were also informed about the career counselling committee headed by Ms. Chhavi Thakur. The   Confluence certainly achieved its objective with an overwhelming participation of students as well as parents.

NCC Day Celebration

NCC cadets celebrated NCC Day.  Col. Vikram Bhan Commanding Officer of 5 Haryana Battalion NCC, Gurugram graced the occasion as esteemed guest. An inspiring PPT on NCC was prepared and presented by our cadets. The cadets prepared posters on themes like ‘Say No to Plastic’ & ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’. Khanak recited mesmerizing poems. Col. Vikram Bhan interacted and motivated cadets to join Armed Forces. The programme ended with NCC song. Col. Vikram Bhan Commanding Officer appreciated the efforts of all the cadets and sensitized them towards keeping the National Flag high.  

‘Organ Donation Walkathon 2018’

‘There is no bigger gift than the gift of life. Take the pledge to be an organ donor.’

With this objective, NDTV and FORTIS healthcare organized ‘More To Give Walkathon 2018’ on November 25 to commemorate National Organ Donation Day that garnered huge support across India. The event was organized to raise awareness about the cause of organ donation in India and get more people to take the pledge to become organ donors. The event was graced with the participation of the eminent personality Mr. Rajkumar Rao, a Blue Bells alumnus, as chief guest.

A clique of students from Blue Bells Model School Sector 4 joined the Walk for Life which was not just a walkathon, but a revolution showing support and solidarity towards the noble cause. The idea was to voice the opinion and promote donation for the welfare of the society and mankind as a whole.

Visit to Golden Jubilee Nature Camp

'Visit to Nature establishes the harmony between man and the universe.'

The trip to Golden Jubilee Nature Camp, Bhondsi, organized for the Primary Wing students was a successful attempt in sensitizing them towards nature and to re-create their accord with the cosmos. The scintillating beauty of the camp, the melodious sound of the chirping birds, the attractive animal statues, the fragrant flowers and relaxing natural tents left the students speechless. All were astonished by the sparkling lake side view and also enjoyed cycling and trekking while appreciating the scenic natural beauty. They were acquainted of different herbal plants, birds and trees. To further enhance their understanding, they were also shown a documentary highlighting nature and its importance. The students enjoyed amongst themselves, shared and relished the snacks and sumptuous meal, and had a great time together. The students filled up reflection sheets wherein they gave strokes to their experience as well as expressed the same in their own words. The nature was at its best and so were the students.

Overall, the trip was an opportunity for the students to know more about their surroundings and importance of nature. This Nature visit imparted a new vigour to their mind.

DEAR( Drop Everything And Read) Programme

The students evaluated and interpreted the literature and analyzed it on the basis of content, style and merit. The age appropriate book reviews were written by the students. Class III students highlighted their views about the summary of the book/story they read. Title of the book was also analyzed by Class IV students along with the summary. Whereas, Class V students critically evaluated the books in order to increase their understanding of the text. The students enjoyed the DEAR session and learnt to evaluate the books based on various parameters.

Children's Day Celebrations

'Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons’

The school celebrated Children’s Day, which marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students of Class V C took charge of the assembly to make the day unforgettable for everyone. The celebrations began with a short speech followed by a scintillating dance performance which made everyone groove in and shook a leg. The students showcased their talent through an informative skit followed by a melodious song and a video. The students were in awe to see the Children's day celebrations.  It was a fun-filled day for the Blue Bellians, which would always be cherished as a fond memory.

On this auspicious occasion, the school toppers in Inter School Spell Bee competition were awarded with medals and certificates. Dhairya Khurana, Ishan Sharma and Arsh Jain outshone in this competition as School toppers from Class III, IV and V respectively. Apart from the Inter School toppers Riddhi Jain (III A), Adhiraj Sarin (III B), Baltej Singh Grewal (III D), Kartik Mor (IV A), Kartik Atreja (IV A) and Harshit Jain (V C) were also awarded with medals and certificates for their excellent performance.

Principal Ma'am wished all the students Happy Children’s Day and blessed them to work diligently and enjoy their childhood, a transient phase to the optimum.

39TH FOUNDER’S DAY

Founder’s Day is traditionally a very important day in the school calendar when members of the school community –management, staff, students and friends – meet to revere those who founded the school and who have bequeathed resources to its development. An atmosphere of celebration filled the school when the students and teachers gathered to celebrate the 39th Founder’s Day. The day was celebrated with fervour, zest and enthusiasm in the school. The Director of the school, Honourable Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati graced the occasion.

The fiesta commenced on a tranquil note with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra followed by the rendition of the mellifluous School Song by the choir group. The assembly was supported by a PPT depicting the School’s achievements and its growth from a tiny bud to a huge shady tree.

The school believes that a student can achieve anything with focus, perseverance and confidence. In sync with this, the school Alumni who were specially invited on the occasion said unanimously that they owe their education to their mentors. They shared their experiences and emphasized the role of the school in a student’s life through a Talk Show which was the star attraction of the event. The show enthralled and engaged the audience on one hand on the other developed among the students, sensitivity, self-confidence and team spirit. They felt that the school life teaches a child to adapt and manage people from diverse background and the initial formative years are very important for every student. They also shared memories of the school days and expressed their happiness to see old traditions being maintained in tandem with modernization at school.

A Nukkad Natak on the theme ‘Say No to Plastic’ was presented by the students of class IX to spread awareness about the harmful effects of plastic on environment as the school has dedicated the year to this cause.

Portraying their ingenuity, the students of the primary wing gave a sterling folk dance performance which evoked in all a sense of excitement and experience of unprecedented success.

An extravaganza of activities was also conducted for the primary wing. All activities were designed to contribute towards an all-round development of young Blue Bellians wherein Class III and IV designed cover pages of school Almanac and School Magazine respectively, whereas class V composed poems on their school. The students also witnessed Havan Ceremony.

The day culminated with presentation of ‘Global Education Leaders Award 2018’ by the Principal to the Director. The award has been conferred by Indian Embassy & Consulate General-UAE in partnership with United Arab Emirates Ministry of Economy for her contribution to K-12 education and promotion of Art and Culture. It was a poignant moment to witness the sight.

The untiring efforts by the students and teachers showcased the hidden talent of the young Blue Bellians. The Director lauded the efforts of the school for putting up such a scintillating show.

Alumni revere their  Alma-Mater on 39th Founder’s Day

‘Happiness knows no bound when the family comes together’ and it was with this intent that the alumni of the first batch of class XII-1993 pass-outs of the school came together to commemorate the 39^th Founder’s Day of their alma-mater. The day was even more special for these alumni as they celebrated the ‘Silver Jubilee’ of their togetherness at school. Blue Bellians now well settled as Doctors, Engineers, Entrepreneurs in places like Australia, New-Zealand, Bangladesh and different parts of the country like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Punjab travelled all the way to be a part of this momentous event. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools was the Honoured Guest and the students were nostalgic as they shared the cherished memories of their school days. Retired teachers who taught this batch of students were the ‘Special Invitees’. The students exhibited great excitement as they visited the school premises. They organised a mock class with their teachers and also revived their memories through the melodious rendition of the School Song. They also designed and shared the ‘Alumni Logo’ as an insignia of the rich legacy  and presented a token of reverence to their Gurus as an expression of gratitude. The school reciprocated their nice gesture by presenting mementoes with an inscription of the school building and their personal photograph. They unequivocally shared that the innovative methodologies which the modern day schools boast of today were introduced to them way back in the 1980’s in their formative years at school. The students collectively appreciated and saluted the vision to look beyond of their revered Guru ‘Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati.
