Inter House Rangoli Making Competition

Colours are indication of joy, happiness and prosperity!

The Festival of Lights came alive in the premises when Primary Wing students took part in Inter House Rangoli Making Competition with great zeal and enthusiasm on November 05, 2018.

The objective of this event was to encourage the students to celebrate the festival in an innovative way and instill in them the values and true spirit of Diwali. The participants from each House put together their imaginative and creative skills in the form of Rangoli. The theme based rangolis made with eco-friendly material echoed festive spirit and grabbed everyone's attention.

Mother Teresa House outshone in the competition by fetching first prize.

The second prize was bagged by Tagore House and Nehru House secured third position.

The young artists of Primary Wing exhibited their artistic skills in decorating earthen lamps. The classrooms adorn a festive look with ravishing rangolis, dazzling diyas, winsome wall hangings and lovely lanterns.The theme based display boards in the classrooms added charm to the glory of celebration.

All the students enjoyed the event to the fullest and pledged to observe Green and Safe Diwali. Principal Ma’am appreciated the students for their creativity and wished them Happy Diwali with the message of spreading happiness everywhere.

TIME TO EXPLORE SPACE

The school organized an educational trip for the students of Middle Wing on October 31, 2018 to Kepler’s Observatory with an idea to create a unique combination of fun and learning. The observatory is surrounded by serenity where there is something for everyone, geared up with modern technology and calm environment. The trip was an exhilarating experience for the students as it offered them an inspiring, curriculum-linked experience, with unparalleled opportunities to engage themselves with astronomy and explore big ideas. The students got an opportunity to learn about various solstices and making a sundial through a workshop. An educational movie ‘Voyage to the Stars’ took the students into a space journey which was followed by a quiz based on constellations, deep sky objects, and important missions of space to test their knowledge. The winners were given goodies like coffee mugs and badges. The Dome Tour assisted the students to safe Solar Observation by direct and indirect methods. They were also able to see one of the Largest Telescopes of India. They were explained about the working of telescope and use of dome to stop the light pollution. The observatory did not only lay stress on topics related to astronomy it also allowed the students to participate in capacity building activities like commando net, Burma bridge, wall climbing, horse and camel riding. Students boarded Aero Restaurant for sumptuous meal keeping in mind minimal wastage of food. Overall the trip happened to be a riveting experience for one and all.

National Unity Day

'Unity is strength... When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.'

Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel, The Iron man of India, is an immortal name in the history of India. He is the man who worked enormously to keep India afloat on path of unity and progress. In 2014, the Government of India introduced a commemoration of Patel, held annually on his birthday, 31^st October and is known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day).

Primary Wing celebrated National Unity Day with great ardour. Students of Class 5 B conducted an assembly to reiterate that we should stay united and respect all religions and cultures. The assembly included a motivational poem followed by a song tilted ‘Mile sur Mera Tumhara’. The assembly was concluded with a beautiful dance performance that depicted the power of unity.

The students who bagged laurels to the school by clinching prizes in various Inter School Competitions, were felicitated and acknowledged for their outstanding performance with trophies, medals and certificates.

• A team of 30 students (III-V Class) participated in Harmony and Eco-fest 2018, Inter School Folk Dance Competition held at Talkatora Stadium (MTNL Perfect Health Mela) and bagged II position.
• Riddhima Tiwari (V) outshone in Jr. Painting Competition held at at Talkatora Stadium (MTNL Perfect Health Mela) by grabbing II prize.
• Meenakshi Dua (IV C) fetched I prize in State Dance Championship organised by Dance Federation of India at The Navyandhra School.
• Ansh Rao (V C) grabbed III prize in Jr. Level of IRC School League: Session 9 held at the Maurya School.
• III Haryana Roll Ball Championship was held at DAV Police Public School Karnal from 21-22 Oct, 2018. The following students mesmerized everyone with their performance and were awarded with I prize in U-11 category (Boys category).

• Navam Yadav and Tejasvi Chauhan are selected for 10th Mini  U-11 National Roll Ball Championship 2018 to be held at Baroda, Gujarat on 15^th  to 17^th  November 2018.
• Yash Yadav (V C) clinched ‘Man of the Match’ trophy in a friendly match held at The Dome Sports Complex, Sec-59.

THE JOY OF GIVING RADIATES INNER PEACE

Joy of Giving Week is India’s very own ‘Festival of Giving’ that is celebrated in October. It aims at spreading joy and happiness among those who need help and support, and for each of us to experience the joy in giving.

Primary Wing students of Blue Bells Model School took an initiative for this noble cause and gathered various daily use articles including biscuits, packed snacks, basic stationery items, toiletries, handkerchiefs and hand towels. They visited Diksha School in Palam Vihar, Gurugram which is providing quality and free education to 300 less privileged children since 2008. Our students distributed the items amongst the tiny tots of Diksha. Their faces beamed with joy on receiving tokens of love. Our students got sensitized towards sharing and caring.

WORLD STUDENTS' DAY

'Students of today are future of tomorrow'

World Students' Day is a celebration of multiculturalism, diversity and cooperation amongst students across the world.

To mark this day Primary Wing Students of Blue Bells Model School displayed their act of social responsibility by showcasing the thoughts and works of Dr. Kalam through meaningful activities. The students made age appropriate models of missiles in the loving memory of Missile Man of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The students wrote his saying on the models and decorated the same artistically.

In a nutshell, students were urged and motivated to become responsible citizens. They pledged to have an aim in life, grasp knowledge through all possible resources and be dedicated towards its achievement.

INTER-HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION

To mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to spread awareness amongst the audience about the teachings and principles imparted by the Father of the Nation an Inter-House Debate Competition was held for the students of Classes VI to VIII. The participants were prepared well and presented their views with confidence in favour or against the motion of the topic – Gandhi Ji is still relevant today. The interjectors counter attacked the speakers with robust questions. The audience was deeply engrossed during the session. The judges adjudged Nehru House as the winning team followed by Indira Gandhi House and Tagore House on Second and Third Position respectively. The Principal – Madam C. Dhawan – appreciated the contestants for their commendable performance. Ms. Bindu Vashishth also addressed the audience on behalf of all the judges and educated the students about the teachings of Gandhi Ji that can be adhered in today’s era.

World Food Day

The students of Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School, celebrated World Food Day with awareness and merriment.

Students brought healthy tiffins from their homes and shared their food with each other. This sensitized them towards sharing and having a balanced diet with lots of seasonal fruits, salads and other healthy food items.

Students were encouraged by their respective teachers to follow a healthy lifestyle and have nutritious food.

NAVRATRI AND DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION

Blue Bells Model School wishes a very Happy Navratri and Dussehra.

A time for victory of good over bad,

A time when world see the example of power of God.

Let us continue the same true spirit.”

Primary Wing celebrated ‘Navratri’ and ‘Dussehra’ with great fervor and devotion. A special assembly was conducted by Class V A to convey significance of Dussehra. The highlights of the assembly were mesmerising poem, didactic skit and a marvellous Dance performance which were enjoyed by the students. The celebration was to mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and to reinforce the message that good always triumphs over evil. The assembly concluded with a spectacular video based on story of Dussehra and its significance. The presentation of the students was applauded by all. Everyone was in a state of absolute bliss.

Students from classes III-V were adorned in attractive outfits for their performance as main characters of the great epic Ramayana. They also presented traditional dances- Dandiya and Garba in a graceful manner with great enthusiasm. Everyone enjoyed the festivity. Principal Ms. Chandan Dhawan appreciated the students for their scintillating performance and blessed them.

Cybermania 2018

 ‘Technology is not just a tool, it can give learners a voice that they may not have had before.’

Technology can become the ‘wings’ that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before- if we allow it. To achieve this objective, Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, under the learned and visionary leadership of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools organized CYBERMANIA 2018, a mega Inter-school IT fest, on October 13, 2018 in which students from renowned schools of Gurugram participated with unparalleled spirit and fervour, making it a great feat. The purpose was to provide platform to the students to hone and prune their talents and IT skills in the unfathomable world of technology. The audience was enthralled by a euphorious rendition of shloka by the school choir. The participating teams were formally welcomed by the Principal of the school. She also emphasized on the role of ICT in opening varied avenues in the field of education.  An introductory video was shown. A series of twelve competitions related to Information Technology was designed for the students to exhibit their creativity and IT skills in the charismatic world of technology. The array of competitions were ‘Voice Choice’ where students had to lip-sync with the clip from the English movies, ‘GRAFix ’-to design e-poster using Adobe Photoshop, ‘Celluloid’ to create a movie, ‘Cyber Sell’ to make an advertisement in Flash, ‘Director’s Cut’ to make a thematic music video on Impact of Social Media on Youth, ‘Tech Beats’ to prepare an audio clip, ‘Techlathon’ to present their views through a PPT on ‘The use of technology for Safety and Security in The Millennium City, Gurugram, ‘Rock IT’ to perform a choreography based on the theme-Technology Brings People Together’, ‘Creatica’ to create a website, ‘Picture Perfect’ to click and edit a photograph with caption, ‘ROBOTrix (Level-1 and Level-2)’ to create Robots as per the given problem statements and rules. Through the plethora of events, the adroit artists unveiled their prowess. The members of jury were distinguished personalities from different walks of life. Decked in a plethora of vibrant colours and reverberating beats, students performed a foot tapping dance full of energy, skill and enthusiasm as a part of the valedictory ceremony. The kaleidoscopic glimpses of the activities were reflected through a Power Point Presentation. Mr. Sushil Chawla, the revered judge highlighted the importance of such competitions as they provide the students, a platform to learn from each other. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, adorned the auspicious occasion with her benign presence. She presented the well-deserved certificates and awards to the winners and admired the assiduous efforts put in by the participants. Ms. Anshuka Aneja appreciated the endeavours of the students and applauded them for making the event a commendable one.
