International Day of Girl child

“Women are the real architects of the society.”

Primary Wing students of Blue Bells Model School conducted a special assembly on the theme ‘International Day of Girl Child’ on Oct 8, 2018. Students for Class III D focused on equal opportunities for the girls through a Powerpoint presentation. It was based on women who contributed to the society and have achieved success and appreciation in various fields. Importance of education for empowering girls was highlighted through a beautiful poem. It was followed by a melodious song reflecting that girls are the most beautiful miracle of life.

The students were also felicitated with trophies, medals and certificates for their outstanding performance in different Inter School Competitions by Primary Wing Incharge. Their faces beamed with joy as they received the prizes.

• Tanish Dhiman (V B) clinched I prize in Rachnatmak Sammelan organized by Rachna Sagar Publications.
• Aadhya and Avani Savarna from Class IV A and IV D respectively bagged II prize in ‘Folk Art’ event organized by St. Xaviers International School.
• Garima (IV A), Aaradhya (III D) secured I position in Umbrella Designing in Craft-O-Mania organized by Shalom Hills International School.
• In an another event ‘Spellathon’  organized by Shalom Hills International School, Saksham Gupta and Arsh Jain from Class V fetched II prize.
• Bhanu Pratap Singh Tikania from class V brought laurels to the school by fetching Silver Medal in 6^th Inter School Open Karate Championship and 4^th Delhi NCR Open Karate Championship.

Gandhi Jayanti,

Gandhi ji has always inspired the countrymen by his principles, dedication and mission to free India and his philosophy of truth and non-violence. In continuation to the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti, interesting activities were planned for the students of Primary Wing on Oct 3, 2018. Students of Classes III and V made antique ‘Spectacles’ using bangles, sticks and rubber bands. Students of Class IV made ‘Khadaus’. All the activities were unique and reflected students’ creativity to a great extent.

National Workshop on child’s rights education for Empowerment & Well being

Peer Educators participated in “National Workshop on child’s rights education for Empowerment & Well being”

Venue: Science centre, Pragati maidan

Health & Wellness team constantly provides support and training to peer educators to enhance their knowledge and understanding about different topics. These peer educator’s helps bridging the gap between teachers and students by spreading awareness. In sync with the same objective our peer educator Divyam Gupta and peer mentor Anshita Raghav along with Life Skills facilitator Ms. Sapna Sinha attended the workshop on child’s rights education for Empowerment &Wellbeing was organized by UNICEF & Expressions India with the aim of understanding Child rights in India and to acknowledge that every child has basic fundamental rights which includes the right to:

* Life, survival and development

* Protection from violence, abuse

* an education to fulfill their potential

* express their opinions and be listened to

Dr. Jitender Nagpal welcomed the peer educators from 30 different school of Delhi and NCR. He emphasized that every school needs to have potential Peer Educators and Peer Facilitation can be used to educate those who are hard to reach through conventional methods.

He further told that the role of schools and teachers is very important in advancing the principles for child’s right as children should be taught about their rights. The school must protect the child’s integrity and introduce rights and related issues in the academic course work.

The workshop provided a platform in training peer educators so that they can further guide their peers about child’s rights not only inside the school but also outside the school so that better understanding and learning can take place.

Peer educators can be a role model for respecting the dignity and integrity of the children. In the workshop they also emphasized that with life skill education programme adolescents and young teens can handle challenging situations with confidence.

The workshop was interactive wherein peer educators expressed their views and participated actively in group discussions related to the importance of health and nutrition, abolition of child labor and respect for each and every child’s views.

Role plays were presented by different groups on different issues which are being faced by children in today’s world. The role plays created a forum for children to express their views on survival rights, protection rights and developmental rights of children.

The workshop concluded with the message that there is uproar to reinforce and strengthen rights of children not only at the policy level but personal level also. For real change to happen, every member of our society should take responsibilities to change the lives of children.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others’

The birth anniversary of Gandhi ji is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence all over the world. Primary Wing students from Class III C conducted an assembly on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti  on Oct 1, 2018. The assembly started with a speech which apprised the students about the importance of Gandhi Jayanti. A skit was also presented that showcased the Era of British Rule with special reference to 'Dandi March', 'Jallian Wallan' Incident and other important events accompanied with the musical rendition of ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’. It added a spark of positivity in the assembly.

The awards for the National Level Spell Bee Competition were given in the assembly. Students from class IV and V received certificates and medals. Arsh Jain (V B), Harshit Jain (V C), Saksham Gupta (V D), Ishan Singh (IV C), Kriday Srivastava (IV B) and Kartik Atreja (IV A) were awarded with the medals and certificates for their excellent performance in International Level Spell Bee Competition. Their faces beamed with joy as they received the awards. It was indeed a proud moment.

Grandparents Day

‘The nearest thing to the love of God is the love of Grandparents.’

A grandparent is one who strengthens a child with prayer; blesses and encourages him with love and hope. There is nothing more wonderful than the love and guidance a grandparent can give to his or her grandchild. To honour the warmth, love and affection of these resplendent souls, Blue Bells Model School Sec-4, Gurugram commemorated ‘Grandparents’ Day’ on September 29, 2018.

Principal Ma’am greeted the revered guests by stating that grandparents are the prudent and experienced ones whom children turn to at all times. The students of Primary wing welcomed the grandparents by presenting a melodious song. They also enthralled everyone with the presentation of Junk music and Qwwaali. To balance the tones set by the events, fun filled games were organized for the grandparents. The keen involvement of the grandparents in the various games was indeed commendable.

To honour the warmth, love and affection of these revered souls, Blue Bells Model School commemorated INIZIO- A Beginning, Health and Wellness Fiesta, 2018-19 on 20th September 2018, organized under the aegis of Health & Wellness Programme. The theme for the same was “To celebrate the bond of love between grandparents and grandchildren”. The creative work of the students was displayed to mark the occasion. The purpose of these activities was to provide a platform to the students to express their love and gratitude towards their grandparents. Each and every grandparent appreciated the efforts of the students and showered their blessings.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion with her benign presence. She appreciated the grandparents for their enthusiastic cooperation and acknowledged their devotion in bringing up their grandchildren and imbibing graceful values in them.

Shramdaan Activity

‘Be the change you want to see in this world and the only way to change this world is to act.’ #Shramdaan Activity is one such action. The activity was conducted for Eco Club in the Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School, wherein the club members took an initiative to bring a change in the environment around them. The volunteers put their best foot forward to participate in the  campaign. They collected garbage and dry leaves in the Trash bags, in and outside the premises of the school and segregated it into bins to sensitize others. Their enthusiastic effort was greatly appreciated by everyone. The main purpose of this initiative was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. Students were given handy tips to keep their surroundings and school clean. The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the students. They realized that any work is best done when it is carried out by a person himself. It also made the students aware of the dignity of labour.

‘The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best you can become’

Primary Wing Assembly was held for classes III-V. It included regular features of National and International news, Thought of the day and Significance of the day. Students recited poems for their Grandparents to express their gratitude and love for them.

The students of Primary Wing, Blue Bells Model School carved a niche for themselves in different inter school competitions in the recent past. The winners were felicitated and acknowledged for their outstanding performance with trophies, medals and certificates by Principal Ma’am. Their faces beamed with joy as they received the prizes.

·        Pari Kathpal (III), Khushi Taneja (IV) and Lochan Ganotra (V) bagged I prize in ‘Tarang’, Hindi Poem Recitation competition organized by DPS, Gurgaon on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.

·        Class III students Keya, Harshita, Gauri, Ahana, Swara, Lakshita Dhriti and Usneek clinched I prize in ‘Foot Loose’-An Interschool Fest organized by St. Xavier High School, Gurgaon.

·        Avani Savarna and Aadhya Sharma of class IV fetched II prize in ‘Folk Art’-An Interschool Fest organized by St. Xavier High School, Gurgaon.

·        Livesh Bhutani and Harshit Jain of class V bagged II prize in ‘Spy Fukuwarai’- MI Fest-2018 organised by Amity International School.

·        Vishwadeep Dutta, Bisman Singh, Gursimar Singh, Kshitij Dhiman, Aarush Uppal and Abhinav participated in Green Weenies, organized by Amity International School and bagged III prize.

·        Avlokita Srivastava (IV D) participated in U-10, 3^rd Independence Day Roller Skating Championship organised by Gurgaon Skaters, Gurugram and clinched II prize.

Respected Principal Ma’am congratulated the students for their achievements and showered her blessings for their future endeavours.

No Bag Day Drive

Technology can make students active participants in teaching and learning process, engaging in problem solving and gaining proficiency in different skills. The sound and graphics of computers enhance students’ interest and attention.

As an initiative taken by TATA CLASS EDGE a two-day drive of ‘No Bag Day’ was conducted in Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School from Sep 24-25, 2018. The purpose behind this day was to give a chance to the students to explore distinctive styles of learning and become more tech savvy with Tata Class Edge which otherwise is also a part of regular curriculum.

Students enjoyed Multimedia, Game Edge and recapitulation through printables.  It was a fun-based learning experience for the students.

INIZIO- A Beginning Health and Wellness Fiesta 2018-19

‘Love is the greatest gift that one generation can leave for another.’

Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love. What children need most are these essentials in abundance. There is nothing more wonderful than the love and guidance a grandparent can give to his or her grandchild. To honour the warmth, love and affection of these revered souls, Blue Bells Model School commemorated INIZIO- A Beginning, Health and Wellness Fiesta, 2018-19 with ‘To celebrate the bond of love between grandparents and grandchildren’ as our theme. It was organised by Health and Wellness Team under the leadership of  Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Dr. Saxena is an avid advocate of socio-emotional wellbeing of children, who is actively working with the credo to develop Life skills amongst the students for their holistic development.

The Primary Wing students participated in the event with great spirit and fervor. A plethora of activities were organized for students to mark the occasion on 20^th September 2018.  

The students of class III made eye-catching greeting cards and attractive bookmarks on theme ‘Gratitude towards Grandparents’ using Doodling Art and Oil pastel shading. Class IV students beautifully depicted the pictures with their grandparents in the form of a collage using ‘Tearing and Pasting Method’ on ‘My Special Time with My Grandparents’. They decorated the collage artistically using Rope Art. Creative Writing Activity was held for Class V students wherein they showcased ‘The Bond of Love They Share with Their Grandparents’ by writing a Poem/Story/Letter. The artefacts were creatively decorated using Mandala Art.

The efforts of the students were applauded by all.

The purpose of these activities was to provide a platform to the students to express their love and gratitude towards their Grandparents.
