‘Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale to stay alive.’

True glory lies in noble deeds. In sync with the pious thought, a plantation activity was undertaken in the Blue Bells Model School premises to celebrate Prakriti Mahotsav- Tarave Namah in accordance with the guidelines laid down by CBSE for Mission Green Schools. The plantation drive was carried out by the Eco Club students of the School. Eleven trees of native species viz. Neem Azadirachta Indica, Gulmohar Delonix Regia, Amla Phyllanthus Emblica etc. each bearing the name of the plant species as well as that of a martyr were planted by the zealous and enthusiastic students. This activity was conducted to reinforce positive attitude amongst the students towards the environment and preservation of endemic species. The students’ earnest interest in planting the saplings was highly appreciated.

Raksha Bandhan 'n' Vriksha Bandhan Celebration

“Rakhi is a thread that binds two souls in a pious bond of love and affection forever.”

Raksha Bandhan is the sacred bond of trust between brother and sister. Sisters tie Rakhis on the wrists of their brothers as a token of this bond.

The young Blue Bellians from Primary Wing extended the celebration of this festival by ‘Building New Ties of Trust’ beyond the family. The students from classes III-V visited 5 Haryana Battalion NCC, Gurugram to tie beautiful handmade Rakhis to the soldiers and greet them with inspiring handmade cards to acknowledge their role and saluting their contribution for the country. This initiative stands as a heartfelt gratitude to the service of the soldiers. Col. Rakesh Yadav, commanding officer (NCC Battalion, Gurugram) gave sketch pens and chocolates to the students as a token of love.

 Students celebrated ‘Vriksha-Bandhan’ with great fervor and enthusiasm. They tied rakhis to their Green Siblings. Dr Alka Saxena, Deputy Director Health and Wellness,encouraged and sensitized the students to take care of plants to make this world a greener place.

 The students took a vow to follow the three P's - Protect, Preserve and Promote 'Mother Earth'.

Metamorphosis 2018-19

Blue Bells Model School Sec-4, Gurugram hosts an ‘Inter School Mega Life Skills Event, 2018-19 ‘Metamorphosis’

Every stage of life has its valuable lessons to be learnt which lays the foundation for the next stage; we must graciously be fully present in each stage and treasure it. The struggle today, develops the strength for tomorrow.

Dr. Alka Saxena, who is a constant beacon and source of strength has been actively working with the credo to provide an all-round development and a sound value base of the younger generation. She is an avid advocate of socio-emotional wellbeing of children. In sync with this objective, Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram celebrated Metamorphosis, Health and Wellness Fiesta, an Inter School Mega Life Skills Event, 2018-19 on 24^th and 25^th August. It was organised by Health and Wellness Team under the leadership of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The students of renowned GPSC schools participated in the event with great spirit and fervour. The purpose was to provide a platform to the students to hone and prune their talents, skills and abilities, thus empowering & equipping them with righteous knowledge and life skills.  

Ms. Chandan Dhawan, the Principal extended a hearty welcome to the dignitaries, student representatives and teachers of various schools across Gurgaon. Manya Jhamb, Health and Wellness Ambassador and Anshika Raghav, the Peer Mentor highlighted the areas and achievements of Health and Wellness team through a Power Point Presentation. 

The program commenced on a spiritual note with Shloka Recitation and thereafter Dr. Saxena declared the competition open. 

Day 1 witnessed an Interschool Debate competition, Critical Thinking and Fun Races for classes VI to VIII. The topic for the Debate was ‘Virtual World is Consuming the real World’ wherein the participants had put their arguments both in favour and against the motion very convincingly. The debate turned out to be sparkling with a plethora of views and counter views.?The competitions were based on various themes related to life skills like Critical Thinking Activities- Find the objects, Logical reasoning, Anagram, Word Search and Fun Games which tested the students on speed and accuracy like Shape Making, Blow the Ball, Mental Math, Pick the peas, Balloon Game, Hurdle Race and Medley Race. On Day 2 students of classes IX to XII competed for the coveted positions in Critical Thinking activity and Quiz.  

A workshop on Rethink Discipline: Positive Discipline Approach was organized by Dr.  Alka Saxena along with resource centre team, for the GPSC school teachers. She apprised the teachers about the fact that it is important to find a respectable middle ground that is neither coercive nor permissive, by adopting an effective positive discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging behaviour in classroom. Through role plays and activities the team demonstrated classroom challenges faced by the teachers.  Teachers gained an insight into real classroom settings and learnt effective ways to respond with kindness and firmness with the students. 

The kaleidoscopic glimpses of the two days activities were reflected through a Power Point Presentation.?The session was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The winners were felicitated with the trophies and certificates by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools. Through this Inter School Competition students had enriched on confidence, experiences and learning. The fiesta not only served its sole purpose but also gave a platform to the students to display vivid ideas by interacting with others. The two day mega event concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Anjali Nagpal, the Senior Wing Coordinator.

Raksha Bandhan Assembly 2018-19

“Rakhi is a thread that binds two souls in a pious bond of love and affection forever”

Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters symbolized by the tying of a holy thread, ‘Rakhi’ on the wrist of brothers.

The auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at Blue Bells Model School. The celebration included an inspiring assembly by the students of Class III-A. Students sang and danced to the tunes of songs related to Raksha Bandhan showcasing their endearment for each other. A speech was presented which was related to the origin of the festival. The students joined in this celebration enthusiastically, which was aimed at instilling the virtues of sacred brother-sister bond among the students.

To strengthen this bonding ‘Rakhi Making Activity’ was done in Classes III-V. Students made colourful, handmade Rakhis. These Rakhis would be tied on wrists of soldiers. All the children participated with great zeal and zest in the Rakhi Making Activity.

On this occasion, Principal Madam wished and blessed all the students.

Blue Bells Model School Celebrates72ndIndependence Day

‘Let India be a land where each bud blooms in its true colours and   where each day is meant for celebrating unity, harmony and belongingness.’

India, as a nation woke up to see its first spark of freedom at the dawn of 15th August,1947. Celebrating independence and remembering the numerous martyred souls, this day embarks upon every Indian, a feeling of pride to be born in a country like India. Blubellians with this feeling of patriotism in the deep core of their heart, celebrated 72^nd Independence Day with lot of joy and excitement. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the august occasion as the Chief  Guest. She hoisted the national flag with an ardent feeling of allegiance in her heart. The students marched smartly past the podium and saluted the Chief Guest. A welcome speech was delivered by Neha Sarkar,the Head Girl highlighting the significance of the day.It was then followed by a cultural programme which commenced with a welcome song ‘Komal hai kamjor nahin shakti hi naari hai…’.The students of Middle Wing captivated the attention of all through a spellbinding group dance performance on the song ‘JagoMeraDesh…’A beautiful choral recitation of the students of Primary and Middle Wing on the theme ‘Samarsesh hai’ enchanted the audience.Krishali Sharma of Class VIII delivered a speech enumerating the brave act of the freedom fighters.Mriganshi of class VIII recited a poem on patriotism and delightedev eryone’s heart.The students of Senior Wing showcased an enigmatic yoga presentation on entrancing mantras and made everyone proud to be a part of incredible India. The gathering witnessed a spectacular group dance presentation on ‘Mera Hindustan…’ by the students of Primary Wing.On the occasion of Independence Day celebration, the Bluebellians earnestly took a pledge that they would never use plastics and promised that they would keep the Mother Earth sparkling clean.The students also showcased their ingenuity in sculpting a scene depicting ‘Beat Plastic’ on the entrance wall outside the school gate with a motive tobring an awareness amongst thepeople . Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati addressed the spectators by congratulating the students and teachers for presenting a noteworthy and grand show. She spoke rightly that if there is one place on earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India. Jaskaran Singh, the Head Boy of the school proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the National Anthem reminding everyone once again about India’s magnificence, triumph, martyrdom and sacrifice of heroic freedom fighters of India.

Friendship Day -2018

“True friends are like diamonds - bright, beautiful and valuable. They make each day a new beginning filled with wonder and joy”

Friendship Day is an occasion that calls for celebrating the presence of friends in our life. Today’s assembly was presented by the students of class IV D of Blue Bells Model School on the theme ‘Friendship for Harmony and Peace’.

The assembly started with an inspiring thought on Friendship. Students recited verses written by GoswamiTulsidas highlighting the true and eternal friendship of Krishna and Sudhama.  Students reinforced it by explaining it through the medium of‘Krishna-Sudhama’s Friendship’. The stage came alive as studentspresented a mesmerising dance performance. Adding to this,a melodious poem was recited to reinforce the theme.

Share your smile with the world, it’s a symbol of friendship and peace. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same, we can hope to achieve peace in this world. To emphasize on the same thought a captivating performance was showcased by the students. The assembly was concluded by an acrostic poem on friendship.The students showcased their talents beautifully.

The students were awarded for their brilliant performance in various academic and co-curricular District Level competitions. Sanvi Singh (III A) bagged Gold Medal in 4^th Delhi NCR Karate Championship. GitagyaGauba (V B) and Yash Rathi (V B) clinched Bronze medal in District Level Badminton Championship. Chitransh Dhiman(V B) also brought laurels to the school in District Level Judo Championship. Arsh Jainof Class V B was appreciated for his brilliant performance in various SOF Olumpiads.

Principal Ma’am congratulated students for their brilliant achievements and bringing laurels to the school.

‘BBMS CYCLOTHON 2018-19’

Avoid using plastics and

Let us live longer

Plastic pollution is adversely affecting the wildlife, humans and the environment at large. To bring an awareness on this grave issue, the school organized ‘BBMS CYCLOTHON 2018-19’ for the students of classes IX-XI. Students pedalled around Sector 4, Gurugram propagating the ill-effects and harmful impact of using plastics unmindfully. Through thought-provoking slogans on banners and placards the students wanted to convey that this non- biodegradable substance is slowly but steadily poisoning the mother earth. Rhythmic jingle presentation on ‘Go Green’ by the students underlined the fact that the sooner the inhabitants of the earth realise this fact and understand the significance of ‘Beat Plastic’, the better it would be for the posterity. They wholeheartedly took a pledge that they would stop using plastic as it devastates the earth’s unique natural environment. The Cyclothon campaign against the use of plastic was indeed an eye-opener for all and sundry.

Yoga Workshop

Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between us and nature.

Keeping the spirit of International Yoga Day alive, Isha Foundation offered Upa Yoga Workshop for Class V students of Primary Wing. The workshop conducted by Ms. Ishani Sharma, aimed at equipping the students with simple and powerful tools for inner well-being. A Power Point Presentation designed by Sadhguru was shown to the students. Students were made aware of the relevance of the yoga in daily life. Students were given handouts on various Yoga postures.

This encouraged students to include yoga in their daily routine for its wholesome and salubrious effects on the mind, body and soul.

BBMUN’18

The school organized BBMUN to make the students aware on recent societal concerns all over the world on 26^th July and 27^th July, 2018. This two-day event was an educational simulation in which students learned about diplomacy, international relations and the United Nations. Blue Bells Model United Nations also known as BBMUN was initiated in 2015-16. It is an intra school event which has been a grand success since the year it started. It is committed to democratizing this popular academic program keeping the focus squarely on mentorship, discussion, collaboration and high academic standards.  BBMUN’18 was declared open on 26th July, 2018 by the School Principal. The worthy Editorial Board Members comprising the school alumni were welcomed with green planters. Under the guidance of Mr. Yogesh Sharma and his team of teachers the students of classes XI & XII organized BBMUN and formed seven different committees like UNSC, UNGA, UNFCCC, ECOSOC, AIPPM, RAW and HRC. The committees presented a global scenario and how different countries of the world are working hand-in-hand to maintain the International Peace and Security of the World. The committee involved student delegates of countries like India, China, Nepal, Libya, Thailand, USA, Sudan, Sri Lanka etc. who actively participated in the discussion and debates. Student delegates performance was highly creditable. The members of the International Press designed and published an e-newsletter-‘BBMUNIVERSE Bulletin’ based on the activities carried out by the committees. The event came to an end 27^th July 2018 after felicitating the students by the Principal with Best Delegate, Special Mention, High Recommendation and Verbal Mention Awards. The Principal congratulated the students for their earnest efforts and appreciated the organizing committee for making the event a grand success.
