‘LABOUR’S DAY’

            ‘It is labour indeed that puts the difference on everything.’   

All labour that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance. They are to be revered for their involvement and painstaking efforts. To appreciate the contribution of workers, the students of Blue Bells Model School Sec-4, Gurugram commemorated ‘Labour’s Day’ by conducting special assemblies wingwise. Students spoke on the importance and the pivotal role that the workers perform in every walk of life. They also emphasized on the role of multi-tasking Staff in the school.  They presented a skit throwing light on educating and supporting the workers in the best possible way. The students highlighted the historical events that contributed to the emergence of Labour Rights and the significance of the day in the present time. A poem recitation and dance performance filled the atmosphere with fervor and zest. The students designed and presented beautiful Thank You cards to the workforces as a mark of respect to them. To mark the day all the more special several exciting and interesting fun-filled games were arranged for them by the institution which included 100m Race, Matki Race, Cornetto Race and Throwball. Cricket, Football and Volleyball matches were also organized for them to keep them exuberant and high-spirited. To add more excitement in the day’s event, the students of Middle Wing ensured their participation in games like Pin The Tail on Animals, Balloon Race and Making Glass Pyramid. The winners were felicitated by giving away tokens of love and respect by Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school and Mr.S.N. Batra, the G.M. Corporate Affairs, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools addressed the gathering and extended her heartfelt gratitude to all the workforces of the school. She appreciated them for their unfaltering and wholehearted contribution for the school.

INTERNATIONAL LABOURS' DAY

"Believe in dignity of labour, whether with head or hand, the World owes no man a living but it owes every man an opportunity to make a living"

The International Labours’ Day was celebrated at Blue Bells Model School with full zeal.

The celebration started with Special Assembly by Class IV-A students. The students highlighted the historical events that contributed to the emergence of Labour Rights and the significance of the day in the present time. Students presented a welcome song and delivered speech on the role of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in school. A Poem recitation and Dance performance filled the atmosphere in JD Hall with fervor and zest. The event was designed to forge a better understanding of our helpers among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts. Our students created and presented beautiful Thank You cards as a mark of respect to them.

The Prize distribution was also held during the assembly for the Silver Zone Olympiad. Students received Gold and Silver medals for Science, English, Social Studies and Talent Hunt. Principal Madam congratulated and appreciated the position holders of the Silver Zone.

Principal Madam and Primary Wing In-charge Madam Meenakshi Malhotra talked about the importance of the day and the contribution of helpers. They also appreciated the hard toil put in by them throughout the year in making our school run smoothly.

INTER HOUSE SPELL BEE COMPETITION

“SPELLING IS IMPROVED WHEN READING IS DONE”

Spell Bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty.

Primary Wing organized an Inter House Spell Bee competition on account of ‘World Book Day’. Students participated with great energy. Three students were selected from each house and anxiety filled the hall, as the spell (participants) bees took their seats on the stage. There were four rounds with vocab, synonyms, antonyms and rapid fire. Students also spelled out the correct words. The students of Indira Gandhi bagged the first position. The students of Mother Teresa and Tagore stood second.

This competition was a wonderful learning source not only for the participants but also for their peers. This competition also helped in enriching the vocabulary bank of the students.

Cyber Safety Awareness team also came up with an informative session in the assembly to educate the students about do’s and don’ts of using technology. A street play was performed telling the students about Cyber-bullying, unsafe usage of internet and their causes along with preventions.

Primary Wing In-charge Madam Meenakshi Malhotra concluded the session by encouraging the students to read the books and enhance their vocabulary. She thanked Cyber Safety Team for apprising the students about the Cyber Safety& security and conveyed the students to be always alert and aware while using internet and search the internet under adult supervision only.

World Book Day

“Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to imagination and life to everything.”

The students of Class VIII D conducted a spectacular Class Assembly on World Book Day which was celebrated all over the world on April 23, 2018 to commemorate the death anniversary of Shakespeare. They were able to put across the point that the imagination of a person ignites when he / she reads. They hosted a live show interviewing the imaginary writers like Anuradha Roy and Mr Seth, they also gave a live coverage of the inauguration of a book shop. It was an informative show that each and everyone was able to enjoy. A street play was also performed telling the students about Cyber-bullying, unsafe usage of internet and their causes along with preventions.

Grabbing the opportune moment, the Cyber Awareness Team came up with an informative session to educate the students about the do’s and don’ts of using technology.

CORNITOS HEALTHY SNACKs AWARENESS CAMPAIGN 

    CORNITOS HEALTHY SNACKS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN   23/04/2018   "Healthy munching is important to maintain a Healthy Lifestyle"   Although meals make up the majority of our nutritional intake, yet most of us eat at least one snack per day. Children love to eat snacks so it becomes our responsibility to take care of the quality and quantity of the snack that a child takes. Mouthwatering snacks often translate into piling up a lot of kilos, with obesity being just one of the many repercussions.   In order to demystify myths about snacks and develop understanding for Healthy Snacks among students, Snacking Awareness Campaign was organized by Special Cornitos Team for Students of Class IV and V in Blue Bells Model School.   In an interactive way, Nutrition related information was provided to the students assembled in the J.D. hall. The interactive session was followed by Query Handling Session to know whether students have understood the agenda of this Campaign. Students were also called upon the stage for a game.   The session left a constructive impact on students. It spread the awareness about healthy snacks and the options that are available for them in the market. Open House, 2018 IIT-Delhi

Learning with fun is the best experience that can ever happen to any person.

Following the same note 55 students of class XI-XII from the non-medical stream along with four teachers visited the Open House, 2018 held at IIT-Delhi on 21st April,2018.

For the students as well as the teachers the whole day unwrapped itself as a great opportunity to gather information and have fun at the same time.

The day started with the registration followed by the distribution of the caps to all the students at IIT-D.

After this we went towards the main building of the IIT-D campus.

The labs were really the best part of the whole day, the machinery present in the labs, and experiments themselves were jaw dropping. The students were awestruck by seeing how a glass tube could be easily blown up to form a bubble of glass, the magic water, experiment based on liquid nitrogen ,natrium flower golden rain ,experiments based on super magnets ,the technology of hologram etc, it was all just amazing. Then we went to the Robotics club of IIT-D students, the pieces of technology showcased by them was all the more fascinating.

We also attended a seminar by Prof. Subrat Kaur on how to proceed in life with full focus and passion. The students then all enthusiastically proceeded towards the Lecture Hall Complex to see the great exhibits displayed by the students of

IIT-D. The exhibits were examples of how judiciously can technology be created and developed by humans for their own use.

All the students visited the various departments; be it the textile department or the computer science department, each one of them had its own way of beautifying the mere significance of the fact that we were present in one of the greatest institutes of India – IIT-D. Overall, the whole day opened up before us like an interesting book of information for our minds to grab.

At the end of the day, the students boarded the school bus and headed back towards the school with each head filled out with a different thought, a thought of hope, motivation and determination.

Green Day

Hug a tree and let it grow free

The birth anniversary of our Honourable Founder Chairperson, Late Sri B. D. Gulati ji was celebrated on 20^th April, 2018 by the students of Blue Bells Model School. The students thanked Mother Earth for its countless gifts on ‘Green Day’. The school campus resonated with the rendition of bhajans.

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Primary Wing to observe the day. Students made caps and wrote thoughtful slogans. They wrote letters to their friends sharing the importance of ‘Going Green’. The Middle Wing students showcased their literary skills by composing poems and writing articles on Eco-Warriors and Visionary Leaders. The Senior Wing students involved themselves actively in the poster making event displaying thought-provoking messages on ‘Go Green’

The shades of green filled the air with freshness, ecstasy and bliss. The day ended with the Principal’s address to the students stating the rich legacy, values and ideals established by our Founder Chairperson Late Sri B.D Gulati Ji who himself was a great environmentalist.  It was indeed an invigorating and reviving experience for one and all.

World Heritage and Earth Day

The students of Class 8 C conducted their assembly on World Heritage Day along with Earth Day on April 17, 2018. The students imparted awareness amongst the students of Middle Wing that our culture and heritage are both irreplaceable sources of life and inspiration. They are our touchstones, our points of reference, our identity. Apart from it through a poem rendition and debate dealing with the aspects of Heritage and Earth they conveyed a message that there is hope if we the young students wake up and realize that we are the caretakers of this planet.

Any natural calamity has become a concern for all the academic institutions. We need to take important precautions to prevent students from a fire or an earthquake. These may be inevitable but if prepared lives can be saved. Keeping this in mind, a mock drill was conducted for the students for classes III to XII where the students were made to watch and listen to the facts and steps to be taken during such calamities thereafter an evacuation plan was carried out with the students from their classrooms to the playground.

WORLD HERITAGE DAY

World Heritage Day is an annual event celebrated on 18 April of each year. It aims to preserve the human heritage and recognize the efforts of all relevant organizations in the field. The aim is to promote awareness about the diversity of cultural heritage of humanity and the efforts required for their protection and conservation.

Each year around the world with different types of activities, including visits to monuments and heritage sites, and newspaper articles we celebrate World Heritage Day.

On account of world Heritage Day Primary Wing conducted a class activity based on World Heritage sites in the social studies period. Students made a collage by pasting various world heritage sites. They got aware about different monuments. Students took pride in their heritage, traditions and cultural beliefs. Students celebrated this day with great zeal in order to unite in our diversity.

Talent hunt

 “If you are young and talented, it’s like you have wings”

Talent Hunt offers an excellent opportunity to the students to promote self-learning among themselves and developing their analytical ability as well as logical thinking.

Giving the students a unique platform to showcase their talent, Talent Hunt competition was organized by Primary Wing for class III. There were participants in all categories namely dance, poem recitation, singing, playing musical instruments (Guitar and Casio). Students were very confident and gave marvelous performances.

Wing In-charge Madam Meenakshi Malhotra appreciated the performances and encouraged each one of them to be a part of such activities.
