INTERNATIONAL FAMILY DAY

“Family is not an important thing. It’s everything”

Family is widely defined as a basic unit of social structure. Families remain at the Centre of social life ensuring the well-being of their members, educating and socialising children and youth as well as caring for both young and old. The International Day of Families is observed on the 15th May every year with the resolution to reflect the importance of family bonding and relationship.

On this occasion, Primary Wing students were acquainted with International Family Day that aims to promote awareness of issues relating to families and increase knowledge of the social, economic and demographic progression that affects families. The International Day of Families has stimulated a series of awareness-raising events, including National Family Day. Photo Frame Activity was organized by Primary Wing to enhance the spirit of oneness and realize the importance of family. Students of Class III-V were gleeful and made beautiful Photo Frames.

Blue Bells Hosted Theatre Fest ‘Stage –O- Rama’

 ‘Acting is not about being recognised, it’s about exploring the human soul.’

Theatre is the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being. It is made up by a multitude of little moments-laughing with the cast, feeling the spotlight, long hours of rehearsals and eventually heading home realizing the fact that one is so fortunate to be a part of it. To make students enjoy this journey and cherish school days, Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4, Gurgaon organized an Inter-House Theatre Fest, Stage –O- Rama on May17 and 18, 2018. The two days Theatre Fest was conceived and nurtured by Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director Academic Development and Innovation, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The event commenced with a welcome song and marvelous theatrical rendition of Neha Sarkar and Pratham Sharma wherein they tried to substantiate the misjudged character Hamlet. Different houses staged both Hindi and English plays exhibiting their innate prowess of theatrical skills. The students’ zeal in playing various roles in English plays ‘Miser’, ‘Le Bourgeois Gentlehomme’, The Imaginary Invalid and ‘Doctor- Inspite of Himself’ and Hindi plays ‘Ashwathama Hatho Hathe’, ‘Arthi’ ‘Tajmahal Ka Tender’ and ‘Bakri’ were remarkable and spectacular. Students played an important part starting from selecting and editing the scripts, directing the plays and by lending light and sound effect. The eminent jury members Mr. Sashank Verma, an eminent actor of Asmita Group, Ms. Hema Bisht Sharma, Production Head of Kingdom of Dreams and Debashish Mondal, an alumnus of National School of Drama. were highly appreciative of the stunning depiction of each play. The distinguished jury along with Ms. Soumya Gulati felicitated the  Best Actor in Hindi beingPratham and Abhimanyu and in English Hardik Dhankar, Best Actress in English Manya Gupta and in Hindi Yashika, Best Director in Hindi Pratham Sharma. and in English Mannat Arora. ‘Le Bourgeois Gentlehomme’ was declared the Best Play performed by Mother Teresa House in English and ‘Ashwathama Hatho Hathe’ by Mother Teresa House in Hindi. The Overall Trophy was bagged by Mother Teresa House. The judges addressed the students and encouraged them to keep up their zeal for acting. Ms. Soumya Gulati congratulated the teachers and students for their earnest efforts and stated that great art is the outward expression of one’s talent and aptitude and students should keep on nurturing their passion for theatre and achieve excellence. Neha Sarkar, the Head girl of the school presented the vote of thanks.

Rabindranath Jayanti Celebration

“Preparedness and punctuality are two of the most important qualities of a leader”

Punctuality plays an important role in every walk of life. Being punctual always brings glory and success to all those who practice it. We can achieve anything if we set our mind to it. A special assembly was conducted by Primary Wing in Blue Bells Model School to felicitate the Full Attendance students with a memento for the session 2017-2018. Their regularity and punctuality was appreciated.

Students were also given certificates for Regional/State Level of Spell Bee International Competition. Honourable Madam Anjali Nagpal and In-charge Madam Meenakshi Malhotra presented the students with the certificates and awards. Anushka Yadav of class IV D was honoured for bagging medals in SOF and Silver Zone Olympiads. They congratulated students for their achievements and showered their blessings for their future endeavours.

Collated with this, Rabindranath Jayanti was celebrated which marks the birth anniversary of the great scholar and novelist Rabindranath Tagore. The assembly was conducted by the students of class IV-B under the guidance of Mrs. Asha Rani. A power point presentation highlighting Tagore's qualities, achievements and work was shown to the students. Students spoke on the life of Tagore along with the information about his contributions to the fields of Art and Literature. The students from different Houses participated enthusiastically in poem recitation. The students also performed a dance to pay tribute to Tagore’s multifaceted personality. The assembly was an effort to make the students aware of Rabindranath Tagore’s contribution, the way he gave a new dimension to Indian literature and music.

ASTRONOMY CLUB SESSION

Astronomy Club session was held for the students of the Primary Wing at Blue Bells Model School today i.e. 15.05.2018. Ms.Astha Talwar and Ms. Sakshi Sharma from the SPACE ASTRO CLUB were the facilitators for the session. They took a ninety minutes session with the 86 children of the Primary Wing. The session included a presentation on the topic -Mysterious Moon. The children learnt about the different phases of the Moon- New moon, crescent moon, half moon, Gibbous moon and full moon. It also included one outdoor activity where they made their own model of moon. They were provided a kit after the session. It was a fun based learning session for the students.

Prize Distribution Ceremony

‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement.’

There are always new, grander challenges to confront, and a true winner embraces each of them. Students of Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram believe in this and work   consistently to prove their mettle and acumen in every sphere. The institution also provides a platform and amiable environment to nurture their genius. The excellence achieved by the gifted, determined and committed students of Blue Bells Model School was celebrated and given due recognition in the Prize Distribution ceremony on May 12, 2018 for the academic winners of classes III-XI, session 2017-2018.The auspicious occasion commenced on a spiritual note with the rendition of shlokas followed by a mellifluous presentation of group song. Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, Middle Wing In charge addressed the gathering. She extended a hearty welcome to all the parents present and congratulated them for the scintillating success of their wards. Group dance performances by the students of the school added joy and delight to the event. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion by her benign presence. She felicitated the meritorious achievers by giving away the prizes to them and urged them to strive for excellence so that they can feel the exhilaration of victory. The ceremony was wrapped up with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sunita Yadav.

The health and well-being of the children is a Nation’s foremost concern

Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4, Gurugram, organized Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign on May 14, 2018 under the directive issued by District Education Officer, Gurugram. Mr. Gaurav Antil, Joint Commissioner, MCG, Gurugram inaugurated the vaccination drive along with Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, Dr. Aradhana and Dr. Deepshikha Aggarwal. The school joined the campaign by administering the vaccination to the students of the school. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati highly appreciated the initiative taken by the government to eradicate Measles and Rubella from the country.

Investiture Ceremony

‘Power isn't control at all--power is strength, and giving that strength to others.’ 

Leadership is not about titles and positions but it is about one life influencing another. A true leader has the confidence and courage to make tough decisions and compassion to listen to the necessities of others. Blue Bells Model School Sec.4, Gurugram, organized the Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2018-2019 by conducting a special assembly on May10, 2018. The ceremony was organised to entrust the duties and responsibilities to the newly appointed council members in  order to involve them in effective functioning of the school system. The ceremony was held with lots of fervor and zeal. It was initiated with the school prayer, pledge and school song. The newly appointed Head boy, Jaskaran Singh and Head Girl, Neha Sarkar expressed their willingness to shoulder their duties with earnestness and diligence. Manya Jhamb was appointed as Health and Wellness Ambassador and Anshika Raghav took the responsibility of Peer Mentorship. The other elected student council member included Sports Captain, Literary Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Fine Art Secretary, Science Wizard, Maths Wizard, Design and Computer Wizard, House Captains, Peer Educators who took an oath to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school addressed the gathering and extended her heartiest congratulations to all the crown owners. She spoke on the significance of leadership and proper management. She rightly quoted, ‘Leadership is not about a title or a designation, it's about impact, influence and inspiration. The ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.

Cyber Awareness

To create an awareness amongst the students, Cyber Awareness Team organised various activities for students of classes III to V under the able guidance of Madam Anshuka Aneja (Deputy Director IT, Blue Bells Group of Schools) on May 9, 2018. The activities comprised of Poster Making, Jingle Making and Cyber Awareness Questionnaire  for classes III to V respectively. The students designed attractive Posters, created catchy Jingles and answered the questionnaire based on Do's and don'ts of surfing internet.

Mother’s  Day

                              ‘Motherhood- all love begins and ends here.’

 Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving mother is the supreme of them all. The bond between mothers and their children is one well-defined by love and compassion. Mother is a quintessence of kindness, care, sacrifice, perseverance and boldness. To honour this pious and virtuous soul and mark her greatness, Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4 Gurugram commemorated Mother’s Day on the theme ‘Empowered Me Sculpting Today’s Youth’ on May 5, 2018. The ceremony commenced with the welcome song. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school, addressed the gathering and congratulated all the mothers for their indefatigable and unrelenting efforts in bringing up their children. She highlighted the fact that motherhood is a tough job but invariably gratifying. Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director, Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools conducted an enriching workshop on ‘The Art of Positive Parenting’ to empower the mothers in grooming their wards more efficiently and proficiently. She spoke on paradigm shift from telling to asking so that the curiosity of the child is addressed and he/she is empowered to become more responsible. She also shared with the mothers the art of making Routine Charts so that the child learns the value of self-discipline. Through demonstrations and role plays it was highlighted that parents need to be enduring and affectionate in handling and moulding their ward’s behaviour and boost up their morale and self-confidence to cope up with any circumstances. The session was followed by an interaction wherein mothers shared their concerns and their queries were well attended.  The students of the school saluted the spirit of motherhood through a melodious song, ‘Ma O Ma…Bachpan Ki Yadein’ and well-synchronized group dance. A street play was enacted by the students on safeguarding the girl child. The mothers were also involved in an array of fun -filled activities which included ‘Story Telling Session’, ‘Dress Designing’, ‘Dream Catcher-Art and Craft work’, ‘Healthy Salad Platter’, ‘e-bulletin in MS Powerpoint’, ‘Designing Snake and Ladder Game based on critical thinking’ and ‘Mother and Child Sculpture with natural clay’. ‘Snapshots’ were shared with the mothers to peep into the activity- rich venues. The mothers were felicitated with tokens of honour and respect by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools. Through the celebration, Blue Bells reiterated the fact that mothers hold the highest place and they are to be treasured and well-regarded

Assembly Class-III C - Theme- ‘Friendship

            ‘There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship’

The students of Class III C of Blue Bells Model School conducted their assembly on the theme- ‘Friendship’. The assembly began with a speech about true friend in life followed by a melodious Hindi song. The students showcased the importance of friendship through placards. If we treasure these values then the bond of friendship between us will always grow stronger. This message of being trustworthy and sincere was conveyed in this assembly. Class In-charge Madam Ritu Gupta addressed the students and motivated them to make real friends because they are the real treasure of life.
