EDUCATIONAL TRIP REPORT

Educational trips for classes III – V were organized to Mughal Garden, Aero Planet and Red Fort on Saturday, February 18, 2017.

Class III students enjoyed the tour to the exotic gardens. The spectacular flower show held them spellbound with varieties of flowers like the roses, tulips and many more. The sprawling gardens with geometrical shapes rendered all speechless with their beauty. The students then went to India Gate and had their lunch and enjoyed being with their friends.

A classic experience of air travel was a welcoming trip for the Class IV students at Aero Planet which was indeed enjoyable. A magic show and few games were planned for the students. They were also explained the safety rules of takeoff and landing of an airplane. It was an informative session.

The main capital of the Mughal Dynasty, the Red Fort was as much an awe inspiring experience for class V students as they learnt all about its historical significance.

Students were served refreshments. It was a very joyful and a great learning experience for all.

Heritage Quiz

The archaeological and heritage sites, language, tradition and culture of India are to be preserved and each and every Indian needs to safeguard their existence. They survived thousands of years and are to be valued and treasured in the present and for the future. To sensitize students on different issues related to heritage and the need to conserve them CBSE Heritage India Quiz-2016 was organized by CBSE. Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4 Gurgaon hosted the quiz at the City and Regional Level on January 2, 2017.Students from forty-six schools from Panchkula region(Haryana) participated in the contest. The chief guest was Dr.Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools, Gurgaon. The august occasion commenced with diya lighting followed by shloka recital. An enthralling classical group dance was presented by the students of the host school. The school Heritage Club ‘Dharohar’ organized a heritage exhibition showcasing the Mauryan Era. The clay models of articles like coins, toys, jewellry etc. of the period were worth watching. The display boards of the venue vividly demonstrated literature, education system, people and their life, dhamma and dynastic timeline of the age. Quiz Master Mr Ajay Puniya provided by CBSE conducted the quiz.The competition was tough and hard to win as all the teams performed very well. The contestants of Salwan Public School,Sec-15, Gurgaon and DAV Multipurpose School, Sonipat cleared the city level and eventually in the final round Springdales School, Amritsar and Gurukul School, Panchkula were declared the Regional Winner.

Auf Wiederschen-Until We Meet Again

Life is an opportunity; seize the day, live each day to the fullest. Life is a voyage to be enjoyed. It is a gift, accept, rejoice and be content with it.

School days are the most precious and golden days in a person’s life. Recalling memories of school days is a way of holding onto the things one loves to cherish and never wills to lose them. It’s a difficult moment when one leaves the school premises and usher into a whole new world to pursue higher education. To make this journey more memorable, the students of class XI of Blue Bells Model School, Sec 4, Gurgaon hosted a farewell function ‘Auf Wiederschen-Until We Meet Again’ for the students of class XII on 28^th January 2017. Dr Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of School graced the occasion by her benign presence. The august occasion commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp which was followed by shloka recital. The day witnessed great exhilaration and gaiety with an array of fascinating items to entertain the out-going students. Musical band, one-act play on the theme ‘School-A Sojourn’, classical group dance indeed enlivened the whole atmosphere and added life to the party. The students were felicitated with certificates for all their good deeds and contribution to enhance the fame and glory of the school. Titles were conferred to XII class students. A ‘Talent Hunt’ session was also conducted for them.  Saumya Gaur was crowned as Ms. Blue Bells Model School and Ritvik Sharma as Mr. Blue Bells Model School. The investiture ceremony was also organised to entrust the duties and responsibilities to newly appointed 11 council members in order to involve them in day-to-day functioning of the school. The newly appointed Head Boy, Lakshay Vohra, Head Girl, Yashika Sachdeva, Health and Wellness Ambassador Deep Sengupta and Sports Captain Rustam Dhaiya expressed their willingness to shoulder their duties with sincerity and diligence. The old Council Members  congratulated the new Council Members and honoured them with the badges. Dr Suman Gulati wished the outgoing students to reach the zenith of excellence in their life and appreciated the efforts of the organizing team to make the event worth cherishing.The Director, Dr. Suman Gualti, rewarded Kunal Thakran –The Swimming Champion, with a cheque of Rs. 21,000 /- for his excellent accomplishments.

QUIZ CLUB ASSEMBLY

“Knowledge comes from learning and has no end”

Knowledge is an important part of our life which is acquired through education and experience. The students are assessed timely for the knowledge gained through tests and quizzes. The Quiz Club of Primary Wing, conducted their assembly and presented an array of activities carried out throughout the session, one of them being a quiz, based on topics like Technology, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Sound and Music and Instrumental sounds ( an audio round) Five  rounds were conducted and the four teams were Aryabhatta, Bhaskara, Euclid and Isaac Newton. Students put in the best of their efforts to answer correctly.

Respected Principal Ma’am Chandan Dhawan congratulated the students and encouraged them to read more books and be knowledgeable.

“The safe way is the best way”
To protect ourselves from the dangers in and around the comfort of our house, knowledge of keeping ourselves safe is of utmost importance. An initiative to make the students aware of safety and first aid was taken by Dr. Sanjay Bhat, the school doctor and Ms. Indu Kala, school nurse, We are thankful to Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director Health and Wellnesss , Blue Bells Group of Schools for arranging such an informative session on Safety and First Aid. The students were shown PPT on how administering first aid can empower young students with the skills to help in case of any emergency before the medical help reaches.
Dr Bhat gave important suggestions on how students can stay alert and be safe. The information shared by him would benefit the students in their day to day life. 
                               “Energy conserved is life conserved”
To sensitize the students towards the depleting energy resources and encourage them to conserve energy for future use, the students of Eco Club, Primary Wing, presented their assembly to showcase that how few thoughtful steps can be taken to resolve the problem and reduce the usage of energy. Students spoke about the effects and consequences of this on mankind and conveyed the same through a very informative power point presentation. A song and dance presentation concluded the assembly with an impact on the students to think and work towards it.

This glorious Christmas time.

Christmas brings joy and happiness and it being round the corner, the students were shown a video on the birth of Jesus Christ as part of the celebrations. A wonderful dance presentation on the occasion of Christmas was much appreciated. All the students enjoyed every moment when the famous and rhythmic tunes of  Jingle Bells Jingle Bells Chorus filled the festivities in the J.D. Hall.

Maths Week Celebration

Mathematics is the poetry of logical ideas.
Mathematics expresses values that reflect the cosmos, including balance, harmony, logic, and abstract beauty. To enjoy and know more about Maths, Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon organized Ganit Week for the students of classes III to XI from 16th to 20th December, 2016 under the able guidance of Senior Wing in-charge Ms. M. Aruna and Maths faculty members. An array of activities was organized for the students to develop interest in Maths and to enhance their analytical and logical skills. The week commenced with Math-e-Magician, an intra-school event in which a quiz was conducted by NIIT. The students of classes III to IX participated in the quiz and their performance was highly commended. NIIT felicitated and awarded the winners. Students of Middle Wing were found beaming with zeal taking part in various games like Spinning Wheel, Try Your IQ, Snake and Ladder. The Primary Wing students took part in Treasure Hunt and mathematical relay race Math-e-letics. A galaxy of amazing facts related to Mathematics was displayed in Maths Corner showcasing number games, different 3D shapes and thread art based on Symmetry. Students wholeheartedly participated in Rangometry in which contestants carved out geometrical shapes like pentagon, hexagon, prism, pyramid etc. A Drawing Competition was organized for the students to prove their artistic acumen in sketching out geometrical shapes. Middle Wing Maths Club presented a special assembly to mark the occasion. The club students staged a skit on A Day with R.D. Sharma. A talk was delivered by Sanya on the importance of Mathematics. A  group dance on Arithmetical operators and shapes captivated everyones attention. Dr Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of schools lauded students participation and motivated them by stating that Mathematics is an expression of the human mind, so one should love Maths and enjoy its magic. Mrs. Chandan Dhawan, Principal, Blue Bells School appreciated students as well as teachers for their creditable efforts. The week-long activities proved the fact that Maths gives a hope that every difficulty and problem has a logical explanation and perfect solution.

Maths Week

Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations or algorithms
It is about understanding

Matheletics - an outdoor event, as a part of the Maths week was organized for the students of classes III to VI on Monday, December 18, 2016. Some interesting activities were conducted.
A place value activity Hop Scotch for class III was made interesting when students hopped, tapped, clapped and jumped on the digit of the particular placed assigned.
Treasure Hunt, a team game for class IV was designed wherein the students mathematical questions and followed the clues given at every step for the next. Thus they found solution to the given problem.
Classes V and VI participated in the Relay Race. They were divided into groups of six with six members in each team. At every halt a sum was to be solved and thus they completed the race.
The winners were -
Class IV-Treasure Hunt was won by section A, Class V A stood first in Relay Race and Class VI B secured the first place.
It was an eventful day with lots of fun and learning.All the activities were designed to help the students think logically and develop problem solving skills.

Mock Banking

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.
Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon organized a Mock Banking Activity on December 14, 2016 for the students of class IX, X and XI in order to spread awareness and enlighten the students about the banking procedure. The activity was conducted under the able guidance of Ms. Sushma Tyagi and her team. All the students of Commerce and Humanities were grouped into different banks and were allotted different designations like Bank Manager, Custom Care Executive, ATM Manager etc. The simulation activity was beautifully executed with the involvement of the students of classes IX and X. The activities involved role playing of various practices in the banking sectors like HDFC, Yes Bank, SBI, ICICI, PNB, AXIS, OBC and BOB. The students visited the virtual model of different banks and they were informed about the various bank procedures and new terminologies. The students exhibited their curiosity about Digital Banking, Education Loan, Current Exchange Rates, Procedure Demand Draft and various aspects of cashless transaction. The   research work of the students of class XI on various schemes and procedures of bank was indeed commendable. Teachers along with the administrative staff and officials of Accounts Department of the school visited the banks and applauded students efforts. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school praised the students keen involvement and remarked that these o-curricular activities in schools are essential in providing quality education to better prepare students to step confidently into their future life.

EDUCATIONAL TRIP NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE, NEW DELHI

Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge.
Development is always linked with technology and technology happens when there is advancement in science. To keep the students upgraded with the latest development, an educational trip to National Science Centre New Delhi was planned for the students of Class V on 10th, DECEMBER, 2016.
The centre has nine galleries like the Our science and technology heritage showing the growth of scientific and technological culture, Human Biology portrayed human body in all its aspects, pre-historic life displaying animated robotic models of dinosaurs. Fun science for hands-on activities, Information Revolution showing the development from cave to the internet, digital information revolution, emerging technologies presenting the developments that would take place in the upcoming decade. The new Gallery, Water-an elixir of life, creates awareness on scarcity of water. The virtual pond was one of the exciting features.
It was one of the most educative trip and a wonderful learning experience for the students.
