BBMUN

Blue Bells Model School, Sec.-4 Gurgaon organized MUN to make the students aware on various recent social concerns all over the world on 3rd November and 4th November 2016. The goal of the school was to empower individual students of classes IX and X to act as torch-bearers and bridge builders to learn and connect with individuals different from themselves, to network on a global scale and to make friends in the process. BBMUN is committed to democratizing this popular academic program, keeping the focus squarely on mentorship, discussion, collaboration and high academic standards. The students of classes XI & XII organised BBMUN and formed eight different committees including Indian Parliament to discuss on various topics at global level. It included present Global scenario and how different countries of the world are working hand-in-hand to maintain the International Peace and Security of the World and Assessing and Addressing Humanitarian and Economic needs of Post –conflict countries. The committee  involved student delegates of countries like India, China, Nigeria, Nepal, Libya, Thailand, USA etc. who actively participated in the discussion and debates. Student delegates performance was highly commendable. In the closing ceremony the student members of various committees were felicitated with Best Delegate, Best Logistics and Best Speaker Award by Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal Blue Bells Model School. She congratulated the students for their earnest efforts and appreciated the organizing committee for making the event a great success.

Assembly - Friendship

"Where there are friends, there is wealth."

Our friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but also in the sunshine of life. The students of class IV- A, Primary Wing presented their assembly on the theme Friendship, dedicated in honour of friends and friendship. The students shared the importance of having friends and how friendship can add colours to our life. Their presentation spoke much about meaning of friendship. A song, dance and poetry by the students touched the heart of one and all.
An Inter House Rangoli Competition was organised for the students of Primary Wing. Students expressed their ideas through colours and made wonderful rangolis using not only colours but also different material like sawdust, decorative material etc. The first prize was bagged by Tagore house and Nehru House secured the second position.
Students of classes III - V were engaged in Diya and glittery candle making activity. All the students enjoyed the event to the hilt.
Prize Distribution Ceremony for the event Metamorphosis was held wherein the winners were given the Winners and Runners Up Trophy and certificates for various events they participated in. Prizes were handed over by Principal Madam Chandan Dhawan and Ms. Sapna Sinha. The Principal congratulated the students and motivated them for future endeavours.

HOME SCIENCE CLUB PRESENTATION

People say cooking is an art, and thats true, but the science of cooking is easier to grasp and repeat. Understanding it makes the students a better cook in future to full fill the satisfaction of the entire living organism. In Home Science Club the students regularly participate in making delicious items. They learn and enjoy a lot while making the snacks in a short period. On the World Food Day the students of Home Science Club gave their club presentation on October 18, 2016. The theme for the presentation was balanced diet and nutritional qualities of pulses as the year 2016 is declared as the International Day of Pulses. A speech was delivered on – Healthy Food Habits followed by the poem recitation on balanced diet. Quick mouth-watering recipes of Sprouts Sandwich and White Beans Caprese Salad were also shared by the students. At the end, Ms. Mona Sharma – the Club Incharge, concluded the presentation by expressing the objective of the Home Science Club that has proved to be a vibrant field to the budding chefs.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

              If you educate a man you educate an individual
               If you educate a woman you educate a family

The students of Primary Wing of Indira Gandhi House conducted their assembly on “Save the Girl Child” The stressed was laid upon the need to save the girl child as they are the pillars of our society. A motivating talk by few students spread awareness to act against female foeticide and encourage woman empowerment.
A presentation was shown by each of the classes from III to V on gender sensitivity. Selected students of each class did their best to convey the importance of saving the girl child.
Nukkad Natak presentation on “sashakt naari, surakshit bahavishya” on woman empowerment won accolades.
The students portrayed their festive moods by dressing up as Ramayana characters and doing role plays.

GANDHI JAYANTI

A nations culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people

Culture comes from the heart and the soul of the people, not the rulers and it cannot be imposed. To imbibe these teachings of Gandhiji into the students and to honour the great Indian leader on his birth anniversary, the students of class III D presented their assembly with great enthusiasm.
 Power Point Presentation on the life of Gandhiji was shown. A solo patriotic song De di hame azaadi by one of the students held everyone speechless. The audience swayed to the tune of the group song Raghupati Raghav which was appreciated by one and all. The students enacted on a song presentation depicting the teachings of Gandhiji.
Space week was observed by the students of primary wing on October 4 and 5,2016. The students came dressed as their favourite astronaut and spoke a few lines on them. The classrooms were decorated keeping the theme in mind using the cut-outs of planets, stars, sun and other heavenly bodies. The decorations done by the students made it look like a Solar System. A PPT based on the same was also shown to the students during the assembly.

BALIKA MANCH

Woman, through all her forms encompasses the essence of salvation and sacrifice. She is the mother of bounty, wealth, beauty and knowledge. In sync with this, on the occasion of International Day of Girl Child Balika Manch presented a thoughtful assembly supported by a powerpoint presentation. A spiritual prayer marked the beginning of the day followed by a self composed poem and a speech on woman empowerment that conveyed the dire need to save and empower the girl child. It is very essential for our daughters to never step backwards in hard situations and to give a befitting reply to the demon that may come to harm or induce them a few self-defence acts were also demonstrated. A dance cum drama was actual picturesque of the occasion which reflected that the modern woman comprises of all the traits of Navdurgas. In quintessence, the assembly depicted might of each woman who fights her battle everyday and gains all the potential to excel in all aspects of life. The teachers Incharge for the event, Ms. Tanuja Sharma and Ms. Subhra Ghosh emphasised on making the audience understand the importance of respecting girls and helping them enjoy equal rights.

Grandparents Day

A grandparent is one who strengthens one with prayer, blesses with love and encourages with hope. Grandparents are a delightful blend of happiness, caring deeds, wonderful stories and love. To honour the spirit, love and affection of this sacred soul, Blue Bells Model School Sec-4 Gurgaon commemorated Grandparents Day on October 1, 2016.The august occasion was graced by Dr. Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools. The programme commenced with the lightning of the ceremonial lamp with the accompaniment of shloka recital. Ms. Chandan Dhawan addressed the revered guests by stating that grandparents are the wise and experienced ones we turn to, in times of trouble and they are the one who through their unconditional love and concern leave a lasting impression in childs life. To entertain the special guests of the day the students of the school presented melodious sufi songs, Tu maane ya na maane dildara…, Dam dam mast kalander… and Mai peer manavan chaileya…...Throughout the programme the students brought out a feeling of patriotism and nationalism for their country. The grandparents were highly appreciative of the students talent and acumen. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. M. Aruna, Senior Wing-Incharge of the school.

QUIZ CLUB PRESENTATION

Knowledge is power and its a fact that only power rules the World. The Quiz Club of the Middle Wing believes in this and aims to expand general awareness and hone the skill of drawing rational inferences. It intends to empower the students with knowledge and create interest and curiosity to collect information related to different fields and aspects of life. Throughout the session, the Quiz Club of Middle Wing has been involved in various learning activities like trending with latest news, current affairs sports topics, amazing facts thus upgrading themselves with interesting findings. The club also keeps tuned into various quiz shows through smart class facility.
 Nurture the young minds is the motto and with this objective the students of this club conducted an inter-class quiz for the students of Classes VI to VIII. The Quiz was conducted in an effective manner and was able educate the audience about the importance of being well aware about the surroundings. Various rounds like audio, video, sports, School information and history and questions for audience proved to be a good source of edutainment for all. The Club Incharge, Ms. Chandrani DeSarkar inspired the audience to be aware about the happenings around them and to remain up-dated by watching news and reading newspapers.

CREATIVE ART WORKSHOP

Art is a delightful way through which the growth of a child can be developed
Exposure to art affects various aspects of learning. To strengthen them, an Art workshop was conducted in the J.D.Hall for the students of Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School. The students put all their imaginations into their work of art and splashed colours on their sheets to give shape and life to their sketches. Class III made bunch of flowers, Class IV drew beautiful landscapes and Class V displayed their talent through a village scene and hill station scene. The use of oil pastel colours was encouraged.
The art department guided the students by showing them different techniques. A video based on the same was also shown. The encouragement and support by the art department was commendable. Respected Principal Madam Chandan Dhawan appreciated the paintings made the students. It was a fun based learning experience for the students. 

Hindi Diwas

“Hindi is the Soul of Indian Culture.”
Language is a medium to express thoughts, ideas and share feelings with each other. Hindi, being our national language, became the official language on September 14th, 1949. To show our love and respect for our national language, the Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School celebrated Hindi Diwas from September 12th to September 14th, 2016 with a lot of enthusiasm. The essence of the language was displayed through various meaningful activities.
 Role-play intra class activity was conducted for classes III-V which brought the hidden talents of the students to the fore.
Story narration session by the grandparents educated all about the lifes lessons through short stories that they shared with the students in the classrooms.
A quiz was organized for the students which was based on different topics like
Spell check, write adjectives for the picture given and write idioms based on the picture shown in the power point.
The Hindi Diwas celebrations concluded with exchange of thoughts, poem presentation and Intra class activity. Respected Principal, Madam Chandan Dhawan addressed the students and told them about the importance of Hindi language which is our National language too.
