A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students.It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.To honour the  teachers ,the students of Class XII of Blue Bells Model School organized a special assembly on September 4,2015 on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.To make the day memorable for teachers the students showcased a cultural programme wherein they presented two group dances showcasing the fusion of western and classical dance forms.A melodious group song captivated the hearts of all the teachers.The students of Photography Club presented teachers’ messages and interviews along with Principal Ms.Chandan Dhawan’s address in a movie show which they filmed during the session. Music maestro, Mr.Bijit Datta and Mr. Tushar Kanti created a perfect ambience through a presentation of instrumental recital.The participation of teachers in antakshari was overwhelming and students enjoyed the event heartily.The teacher students of class XII involved their juniors in various games, quizzes and cultural activities.The school students also watched our honourable Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi’s address and were greatly moved by his inspirational speech.The Principal appreciated the students efforts and blessed them to succeed in all their endeavours. On the momentous occasion of Teacher’s Day the Bluebellians once again proved that they respect,love and care for their teachers.

Independence Day Celebration

‘Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and
steady dedication of a lifetime.’
Patriotism is our conviction that our country is superior to all others because we are born in it. Independence is a blessing which needs to be protected and preserved. 15th August is a very momentous and significant day for our country as the freedom fighters struggled for many years to free our motherland ‘India’ from the shackles of foreign invaders. Blue Bells Model School celebrated 69th Independence Day with lot of delight, rejoice and heart full of pride. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the School hoisted the national flag with a fervour of patriotism in her heart. The students marched smartly past the podium and saluted the Chief Guest. A welcome speech was delivered by the Head Boy, Yatin Sharma and Head Girl, Radhika Gupta highlighting the importance of the day. It was then followed by a cultural programme which commenced with a welcome song. A group dance ‘Vande Mataram’ of the Primary Wing indeed took everyone decades back to feel the spirit of nationalism. The tiny tots also showcased an enigmatic yoga and aerobic presentation on enchanting mantras and made everyone proud to be a part of incredible India. Ganesh Vandana and the dance sequence ‘Salam India’ created a feeling of devotion and patriotism amongst the students. A Hindi street play on ‘Cyber Crime  se Azaadi’ was  staged to reinforce the thought that everyone should be cautious and vigilant in using NET and save themselves  from falling prey to cyber crime. Savera students too showed their love and reverence for their country through a dance presentation ‘Baras Rahi Hein Roshni’. The last event was a depiction of a historical saga based on Indian Freedom Struggle. It was a mesmerizing rendition of a beautiful dance sequence on the song ‘Bharat ki Azaadi ki Hum Katha Sunate Hai’ portraying each and every phase of  freedom movement. Ms. Dhawan addressed the audience and outlined the students’ duties in making India a powerful nation & safe place to live in. She rightly stated that to survive in peace and harmony we need to be united and strong. School Ambassador, Radhika Sharma proposed vote of thanks and congratulated students for their spectacular and splendid performance. The event ended with the national anthem reminding everyone once again about India’s glory, triumph, martyrdom and sacrifice of selfless altruistic freedom fighters.

Workshop on Income Tax

To make students aware of the technicalities of Income Tax and Tax Returns, a workshop on ‘Income Tax Procedure’ was organized in Blue Bells Model School , Gurgaon on August 12, 2015. The students of classes XI and XII attended the workshop. The guest speakers were welcomed by Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of Blue Bells Model School. Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax Gurgaon, Circle 2, Mr. Kalicharan and Deputy Commissioner, Circle 3, Mr. Harpal Singh Kharab took the session with PowerPoint Presentation on History of Taxes in India and Modern Day Technicalities. The other guests were Income Tax Inspector, Mr. C.P. Sharma, FCA, Mr. B.B. Chaudhary. From Blue Bells Group of Schools the workshop was attended by Mr. S.N. Batra, Gen. Manager, Corporate Affairs and Mr. Achal Jain, Head, Financial Affairs. There was an interesting interactive session with the students where all the queries of the students were well attended. The senior Wing Incharge, Ms. S. Aruna proposed the vote of thanks. The session was informative and an enriching learning experience for all the students.

Aabhaar: A Gratitude to Fatherhood

A father is someone who
Holds you when you cry,
Scolds you when you break the rules,
Shines with pride when you succeed.

In the child lies the future of the world but the father takes him to the highest hill so that   he can see what his world is like. To celebrate the spirit of his goodness, Blue Bells Model School,Gurgaon celebrated Aabhar: A Gratitude to Fathers on 8th August, 2015.The day commenced with a shloka recital and welcome song by the school students. Ms. M. Aruna, Senior Wing Incharge, welcomed the fathers heartily. In her address, she beautifully stated that the father is the protector, provider, guardian and the guide and is the person who is always by our side.To make the day special and treat fathers in a truly special way, activities like kite flying and writing messages were organized for them. Around 50 fathers enthusiastically participated in the celebration. Fathers showed their high spirit and exhilaration in the musical chair event. The zeal of the fathers lent an endearing sight for everyone. Fathers exhibited utmost interest in flying kites and in writing messages on them. The messages were indeed exemplary as they stated fathers love for their children and their trust in Blue Bells Model School in grooming its pupils holistically. Fathers participation was appreciated and was felicitated with token of respect and reverence. The gala event surely added one more memorable chapter in Blue Bells history.   

Investiture Ceremony

If  your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become    more  then you are a leader 
Every right implies a responsibility and every possession, a duty. The Investiture Ceremony of Blue Bells Model School for the academic session 2015-2016 was held in the special assembly on August 6, 2015. The event was presided over by Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The ceremony was organised to entrust the duties and responsibilities to newly appointed council members in order to involve them in day today functioning of the school.The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and delight. It was initiated with the school prayer, pledge and school song. The newly appointed Head boy, Yatin Sharma; Head Girl, Radhika Gupta and School Ambassador, Radhika Sharma expressed their willingness to shoulder their duties with sincerity and diligence.The other elected student council which included 13 Core Council Members, 4 House Captains, Health and Wellness Ambassador, Peer Mentor ;10 Peer Educator took an oath in front of the whole school to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them. Two allumni guests who were Peer Educators as well as Head Boys, Ankit Bhaskar and Vishesh were invited to grace the ceremony. Both of them addressed the gathering and shared their thoughts and emphasized that Being a council member, one has huge responsibility but along with duty and task, it is a great experiential learning phase. Ms. M. Aruna, Senior Wing Incharge, spoke on importance of leadership. She rightly quoted that Find joy in everything you choose to do. Every job, relationship, career ... its your responsibility to love it, or change it. Dr Saxena congratulated the council members and honoured them with badges. She motivated them by stating that With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that one cannot achieve. The ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.

Presentation on Astronomy

A Leap beyond the Planet Earth
Astronomy drives  our  soul to look upwards and leads us from this world to another. To explore the mystery of unknown space, Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon organized a workshop on ‘The Amazing Space’ on August 4,2015 for the students of classes V-VIII in the special assembly. Ms. Aastha from Space Organisation enlightened the students by conducting a lively session on astronomy discussing about solar system, universe, comets ,meteors and all other celestial bodies.Through a questionnaire session Ms.Aastha kept the students busy and occupied. She demonstrated the amazing phenomenon of the outer space through video clippings of International Space Station and Spaceport of Sariska, Rajasthan. She captivated everyone’s attention by showing ice-cold comet and a direct demo of a Rocket Launch’. Children were beaming with enthusiasm and showed their eagerness to know the unknown. The workshop was indeed an enriching learning experience for all the students.

FRIENDSHIP DAY CELEBRATION

Friendship means understanding, not agreement. It means forgiveness, not forgetting. It means the memories last even if contact is lost.

Friendship means closeness without any selfish motive. True friendship is rarely seen. Growing true friendship depends upon selection of a friend. The students of Primary Wing – Blue Bells Model School celebrated Friendship Day with great enthusiasm. They made beautiful Friendship Bands and Cards for their friends. Apart from this the students visited an orphanage – ASHA BHAWAN where they shared the bond of this friendship with the residents of the home. The students also donated commodities and eatables to the children of Asha Bhawan. They expressed their feelings and became friends with these children by tying friendship bands to the newly made friends. Both the groups exchanged their e-mail Ids and phone numbers so that they would continue their friendship for a longer period. The children merrily sang songs to bless their friendship.

Career Confluence

In the modern era, diverse career options perplex the youth and bewilder their thoughts. To acquaint and accustom students with myriad of career options which are suitable for them, Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon organized a ‘Career Confluence’ on 31st July and 1st August 2015 under the able guidance and patronage of Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The Confluence was meant  for the students of classes IX - XII and their parents as well. Director of the Center for Career Development, Mr. Jitin Chawla, an eminent educationist & career counselor, delivered a lively session on stream selection for the students of classes 9th & 10th. Mr. Chawla has been doing a number of shows on NDTV, DD, and CNN.  Mr.Chawla categorically advised students on how to choose their career path depending upon their talent and interest. Mr. Chawla familiarized the students of classes 11th & 12th with emerging science, commerce and humanities careers and misconceptions regarding careers. He also updated the students about the plethora of courses and institutions available. He suggested that students should also explore the off-beat and unconventional careers.
Other eminent speakers of the day were Mr.Harpreet from Jamboree, Mr. Vishal Sharma from Smart Prep and  Ms.Monika Garg from Pearl Academy. The students were guided on career options in Finance, Music, Engineering, Commerce, Bachelor of Elementary Education , Fashion Designing and Fashion Technology. Ms.Monika Garg gave  an informative and wonderful audio-visual presentation on Brand Management and Retail Management.
 The workshop  organized for  the parents of students from classes 9th to 12th on 1st August,’15was an enlightening session for them. The resource person was an eminent psychologist and counselor, Dr. Asha Nayyar. She presented a mesmerizing session on stream selection, effective career planning and career options. After the sessions Dr. Nayar satisfied the career related queries of the parents.The credit for the grand success of the Career Confluence goes to Dr. Alka Saxena whose vision and mission shaped this venture. The   Confluence certainly achieved its objective with an overwhelming participation of students as well as parents.

CELEBRATION OF GURU PURNIMA

In the presence of the Guru, knowledge flourishes, sorrow and lack diminish. Without any reason joy wells up, abundance dawns, all talents manifest. To the degree you feel connected to your Guru, these qualities manifest in your life.
The occasion of Guru Purnima was celebrated by the students of Blue Bells Model School with reverence. The students recited shlokas in the praise of Gurus and offered prayers to Goddess  Saraswati. They expressed their love for their Gurus in the form of poems, cards and articles. The students were told about the importance of Gurus and parents in their life. They need to give due regards to grandparents and parents as they are the first Gurus who have always guided them about what is right or wrong. When one finds a Guru one conquers half the world. The Principal, Ma’am Dhawan and Senior teacher Ms. Neelam Ahuja showered their blessings on the students through their motivational words.

Metamorphosis-Health and Wellness Week Celebration

Every stage of life is unique.
At any age and stage of life there are obstacles and opportunities, trials and triumphs.’

Adolescence represents an inner emotional upheaval, a struggle between the eternal human wish to cling to the past and the equally powerful wish to get on with the future. Each stage of life offers opportunities to learn, to be born over and over. Metamorphosis does happen giving everyone in this earth a new identity at every stage of life.
An adolescent needs to be proactive and equipped with all skills to face and cope with the world. This target is achieved through training, proper guidance and following the right direction.
     With this thought, Health and Wellness Week Metamorphosis was organized by the Health and Wellness team of Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon for the students of classes III-X from July 27, 2014 to July 30 2015. The four - day programme was conceived and nurtured by Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools with her team of school counsellors and teachers. The aim of the fiesta was to give students a platform to demonstrate determination, explore new ideas and comprehend the fact that one needs to face challenges in life and make oneself well-trained to fight against all odds and lead their life rationally and wisely. The event was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by Shri Mahesh Chandra, Chairman, Blue Bells group of schools and Dr.Alka Saxena. He addressed the students and rightly underlined the fact that along with the multifaceted opportunities that technology provides, the students ought to be aware of cyber crime and hacking and not to indulge or become a prey to it. Dr. Saxena remarked on empowering students by providing the training in life skills. A medley of fun filled interesting activities was designed to mould students’ mindset and attitude in coping with their life in the real world. The activities for Primary Wing were held on July 27, 2015. The students were divided into various groups and each child participated in Metamorphosis. The activities were Card Making, Book Mark Making, Poster Making, Critical Thinking Games and Fun Races. The students made beautiful cards conveying Thank you notes, Welcome Wishes and wishing Good Luck.  Impressive posters were made on My Environment, My Country, The People Around Me, My Feelings and Emotions, A Healthy Body and Mind, Respecting Diversity & Safety Rules. In critical thinking students were given reasoning sheets to solve. Fun Races like Colour the Tree, Balancing the Bean Bag and Shoe Tie Race were conducted to make the students aware about being fit and quick. On July 28,’15 Middle Wing students were involved in story writing, talk show, healthy life style and quiz. The students from senior wing participated in street play, display board decoration, ad analysis and quiz on July 29,’15.The array of activities revolved around various themes like being Safe on the Road, A Healthy Diet, Managing Emotions, Substance Abuse, Gender Sensitivity, Common Diseases Puberty, Life Skills, Social Networking, Peer Pressure, Safety Measures, Anti –Bullying, Impact of Media, Career Choices, Effective Communication and Cyber Crime where students projected their opinions and thoughts with clarity and eloquence. The thematic presentation of each and every activity showcased students acumen and their eagerness to combat every challenge they come across with positivity and zeal. The programme came to its close on July 30,’15. The students presented a PowerPoint Presentation on ‘Glimpses of the Week: Metamorphosis’. A workshop on ‘Importance of Healthy Lifestyle to Prevent Cancer’ for the students of classes IX & X was conducted to apprise students to the adverse consequence due to consumption of tobacco and acquaint them with life style diseases. The resource persons were Ms. Aruna Ummat, Vice President ‘Jagriti’ a unit of Indian Cancer Society and Ms.Rekha Gulabani, Director Resources, Project Head Breast Cancer and Head Rehabilitation Centre with the Indian Cancer Society. Dr. Alka Saxena congratulated the participants and lauded their outstanding performance in various activities. The plethora of activities wrapped with beaming enthusiasm and keen involvement of the students made the event turn out to be unique and phenomenal.
