Mother's Day Celebration: Honouring the Pillars of Our Lives

Mother's Day is a special occasion that celebrates the love, care, and sacrifices made by mothers and mother figures in our lives. Blue Bells Model School held a heartfelt Mother's Day celebration on May 19, 2023, to pay tribute to these remarkable women who play an invaluable role in shaping our lives. On the occasion Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Model School expressed that mothers are the true superheroes of our lives. From the moment we enter this world, they shower us with unconditional love, guiding us through the highs and lows, and shaping us into the individuals we are today. Their love knows no bounds, and their dedication is unwavering.

The school’s JD Hall was adorned with vibrant decorations, with hallways and classrooms exuding warmth and love. The walls were embellished with handmade cards, colourful posters, and beautiful artwork created by the students, displaying their affection for their mothers. The ambiance was filled with a sense of joy and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of mothers.

The event began with a special assembly dedicated to mothers. Ms Alka Singh, the Principal addressed the mothers emphasizing the significance of mothers in the lives of students. The school choir presented melodious songs dedicated to mothers, evoking emotions and touching the hearts of everyone present. Students from various grade levels performed expressive dances, which portrayed the bond between a mother and child. These captivating performances brought smiles and tears of joy to the audience, reinforcing the emotional connection we share with our mothers.

Ms Nikita Bansal, a proud mom and a professional baker took Cake Icing and Cake Decoration Session. She expressed that baking is a skill which improves with practice and she asked the mothers to enjoy the process and have fun experimenting with different flavours and decorations.

The school’s JD Hall was transformed into a vibrant space for Zumba and face Yoga Session by an elated mom and a professional instructor, Ms Chandani Arora . The instructor brought expertise and enthusiasm to guide participants through various dance styles, including salsa, merengue, hip-hop, and more. Their infectious energy and motivational cues encouraged everyone to let go of inhibitions and embrace the joy of movement. 

The Mother's Day celebration was a heart -warming event that touched the souls of everyone involved. The event served as a reminder of the selfless love, sacrifices, and nurturing nature of mothers, making it an unforgettable experience for all.

This event served as a testament to the school's commitment to holistic education and fostering strong family bonds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of students, mothers, and staff alike.

‘Futurix-The Design Thinking and Innovation Fair, Edition 4.0

"Design is intelligence made visible."

‘FUTURIX’ The Design Fair - Edition IV, initiated by Blue Bells Model School, was an opportunity for the students to test their design thinking practices, management as well as collaboration skills to devise solutions that are simple, productive, and compelling. This unique platform was kept open for the students of classes IV-XII to come up with innovative ideas, products, prototypes, or digital solutions which would positively impact the society.

The 21st tech savvy and highly empowered students of the school embraced the design challenge task wholeheartedly and emerged with brilliant innovative ideas which are solutions to many common problems of life. The mega event was organised on May 13, 2023 wherein the young innovators showcased their product designs, working models, prototype layouts and the viability as to how the products can be made advantageous for mankind. The Design Fair was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Our revered Director Ma’am released the Design Fair Newsletter which comprised the details of each project and displayed the images of the students working diligently with their project models.

 The event was graced by Captain Indu Boken, District Education Officer, Gurugram, Mr. Avishek Kumar, a renowned representative of Enegy Swaraj and Mr Kuldeep Hindustani of Buland Awaaz Welfare Society and appreciated the hard work put in by the students and mentors.  

The school firmly believes that dedication, determination, creativity and cognitive skill set are the prerequisite aspects required by the students to unbridle their prowess and become future ready. The pioneering ideas and effective presentation and demonstration of thoughtful projects was a commendable accomplishment for the aspiring entrepreneurs. The showstopper models included “Sanjeevani Organic Bricks”, “Smart School” and “Inclusive Park”. Numerous spectacle of projects and models that captivated the attention of the guests were Smart Blind Stick, Air Purifier, Army Safety Project, Anti-Empodio Glasses, Space It, AWD System, Blind Stick with GPS Navigation, Smog Free Giant Sprinkler, Insight Out, BA Lonely and many more.

The parent visitors were spellbound to see the unique creation of each project. They were highly appreciative of the earnest efforts of the students   and sincere dedication of the teachers in guiding the teams. There were around 306 projects which were witnessed by around 600 visitors which encompassed GPSC delegates and students of different schools from across Gurugram. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school lauded the innovators when she watched them confidently giving demonstration of their exclusive design projects. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director BBGS and GPSC delegates were entranced looking at the overwhelming participation of the young creators. The Director showed her jubilation by stating that “The value of an idea lies in the using of it. Each and every child of the school is unique with a vision and in the Design Fair the students had given a concrete tangible shape to their vision.”

International Connect

We, at Blue Bells, believe that a comprehensive approach to education prepares students to be active and engaged participants in an interconnected world. This approach to teaching and learning incorporates a global perspective. Keeping in sync with this philosophy, the students of Blue Bells Model School got an opportunity to interact with the students of Vin School imperia on May 12,2023 via Google meet Session.  

The topic for the session was ‘Painting on leaves. Fine Arts students from classes XI and XII exhibited their presentations on the said topic  showing the history of painting since times immemorial and how it has evolved with the passage of time. 

 The pen pal session was quite interactive and engaging with a perfect balance of presentation and information. Educators of Vin School also shared their power point presentations on the importance of homemade charcoal face masks. The session concluded on a healthy discussion followed by a question answer session.  

 It was truly an incorporation of understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.    

ASSEMBLY-Rabindranath Tagore’s Birthday

 On May 10, 2023, the students of Class V A presented an assembly on theme "RabindranathTagore's Birthday." The purpose of this assembly was to create awareness and acquaint the students about the life and work done by the nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

The assembly started with the school prayer, followed by the pledge and school song. Thereafter the Thought of the Day based on the teachings of Shri Rabindranath  was presented by a student, which set the tone for the rest of the event. In assembly, the Vice Captains and Prefects were were also honoured with the badges by Primary Wing Incharge. They took the pledge to hold school motto ' Be honest Be Brave' in high esteem.

 After that, few students came forward and shared the information related to Shri Rabindranath Tagore.They recited the poem and sang a song created by him.

 The assembly concluded with the Wing Incharge – Ms. Pallavi Sinha encouraging students to learn from his life and implement his teachings in their life. The assembly was informative and engaging. It provided students with valuable information about him.

Inter-House Recitation Competition

The Inter-House Recitation Competition held on May 9 at the school premises was a resounding success. Students from Middle Wing participated in the competition, showcasing their impressive recitation skills in English and Hindi poetry. The competition was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, a prominent poet, songwriter, composer, and writer of Indian origin.

Ms. Anshul Malika Kumar, the Wing In-charge, inspired the students with her motivational speech about the importance of calmness, composure, and patience as the key to success. She encouraged the students to participate wholeheartedly in the competition and emphasized that the judges' feedback should be taken positively as a means to improve and grow.

The competition was intense and competitive, with two students from each house representing their respective teams in the English and Hindi categories. The students mesmerized the audience with their flawless recitation skills, impressive voice modulation, and perfect presentation style.

The judging panel had a challenging task at hand, as each participant delivered their poem with immense passion and emotions. After a meticulous evaluation of each performance, the panel declared the winners. Ahana of Class VIII B from Tagore House received Special Appreciation. The Third Position in the English category was bagged by Smyan Banerjee of Class 6 C from Mother Teresa House, followed by Khushi Agarwal of Class 8 A from Nehru House, securing the Second Position, and Varnika Singh of Class 6 C from Indira Gandhi House, clinched the First Position.

Similarly, in the Hindi category, Titiksha Kukreja of Class VIII C from Nehru House received Special Appreciation, Ishani Sharma of Class 6C from Indira Gandhi House, secured the Third Position, followed by Ayesha Goel of Class 6C from Mother Teresa House, won the Second Position, and Pari Kathpal of Class 8A from Tagore House, emerged as the winner.

The competition was a joy to behold, as the students expressed their emotions, feelings, and musicality of words. The judges appreciated the efforts of all participants, stating that each student was a winner in their own right, and that recitation was an art that required hard work, dedication, and commitment.

The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The Inter-House Recitation Competition was a grand success, showcasing the talents of the students and providing them with an opportunity to express themselves creatively.

GIRLS SAFETY WORKSHOP

"Empowering girls to be their best and safest selves is not only a moral obligation, but a strategic imperative. When girls are safe, healthy, and educated, they drive economic growth, promote peace and stability within their communities, and help build a better world for everyone." - Michelle Obama.

A Girls Safety Workshop was organized in Blue Bells Model School in the school premises for girls of Grades IX-XII.  The workshop in association with Amar Ujala newspaper focused on creating awareness among girls about various forms of violence and how to protect themselves from such situations. It aimed to empower girls with practical knowledge and skills to help them feel safe and secure. The resource person, Ms Neetu Kumari covered various topics related to safety, such as awareness about different types of violence against girls and women, including verbal, physical, and emotional abuse and recognizing the warning signs of abusive behaviour and identifying safe people they can turn to for help.

The workshop was highly effective in creating awareness among the girls about their safety and security. The girls actively participated in the activities and expressed their views on the issues discussed. The girls safety workshop was a success, and it is essential to conduct such workshops regularly to educate and empower girls to protect themselves from potential harm.

International connect

The power to communicate across borders and the ability to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds is a key 21st-century skill. 

We, at Blue Bells engage our students globally with authentic learning experiences that will connect them with others around the world. This enables students from anywhere in the world meet online and experience different cultures. In pursuance with this, International session was conducted with Crescent International School, Bangkok Thailand and Vinschool Ocean Park. Vietnam on 8^th May'2023 via google meet. 

The theme of the project was ‘Internet of things.’ Thought provoking presentations were shared by the students on the topics such as -Device to detect alcohol concentration while driving, smoke detectors in restrooms , environmental protection solutions etc. The session provided a great opportunity to our young scholars to exchange culture, knowledge and express themselves with international students and educators. They opened their minds to the amazing diversity on our planet, alternative ways of thinking, new solutions to problems. 

It was an enriching session with exposure to new ideas and concepts that one can use to appreciate and improve the world around us and the world within us.   

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2023-24

‘It is the responsibility of every human being to aspire to do something worthwhile, to make the world a better place than the one we found.’

With faith, discipline and single-minded devotion one achieves  greater heights in life. Being a council member, one has huge responsibility but along with duty and task, it is a great empirical learning for the young leaders. The Senior Wing Investiture Ceremony of BBMS for the academic session 2023-2024 was held on May 5,2023 to honour the new Student Council. The ceremony was organised to delegate the duties and responsibilities to the newly appointed council members. Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, the Director BBGS graced the occasion with her benign presence and congratulated the council members and motivated them by stating that ‘Being responsible is an enormous privilege.... it's what marks a person as a fully grown human.’

The august occasion commenced with the diya lighting and school song.It was indeed a spectacular sight to see the newly elected young, dynamic, zealous leaders marching  on to the stage with devoutness in their mind and fortitude in their spirit. The teachers honoured the newly formed council with sashes and badges.

The newly appointed School Ambassador, Krisha Gupta, Head boy, Jatin Chutani and Head Girl, Yashi Kaushik expressed their readiness to shoulder their responsibilities with honesty and integrity. Along with them the other elected student councils comprising 22 Core Council Members, 4 House Captains and 1 Health and Wellness Ambassador took the oath to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them. The group song and group dance rendition beautifully conveyed the message that the pious ceremony marks the beginning of a fresh journey for the students who believe in themselves to carry the rich legacy of the school with solemnity. Former Cultural Secretaries presented beautiful renditions and we revisited the past through soulful presentations. Amartya Jha, Former Head Boy addressed the gathering and briefed about the fact that Leadership is a quality which is nurtured and has it seeds sown in childhood itself.

Investiture Ceremony

'Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.'

Students of today are the visionaries and torch bearers of tomorrow. Nurturing students to be future leaders, Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram held its Investiture Ceremony on 4th May, 2023 to bestow the deserving students of the Primary Wing with responsibility of leading the school with honour. The Investiture ceremony signifies the confidence and faith that the school consigns in the newly invested Junior council members to be the torch bearers of tomorrow.

 The ceremony was held with lots of zeal and zest. It commenced with the Diya Lighting Ceremony followed by an invigorating song. Former Council members and teachers honoured the newly formed council with sashes and badges. Thereafter, the elected leaders took the pledge to hold the school motto 'Be Honest, Be Brave' in high esteem.  The pride and sense of dedication in their voices was palpable. Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, esteemed Director Blue Bells Group of School congratulated the newly appointed council members. In her address, she reiterated that student council posts were about responsibility and authority. She guided them to be worthy role models for their peers by being exemplary in their disposition and demeanour. She thanked the parents for their constant.

 Madam Principal Ms Alka Singh, extended her wishes to the new office bearers. The event was concluded with a delightful dance performance followed by the Vote of Thanks.

The school without doubt believes in its young leaders to protect and consolidate the values and ideals its teachers and students stand for.

Class VI D’s Assembly in Honour of Workers' Contributions and Achievements

Today Middle Wing’s assembly was dedicated to honoring the contributions and achievements of workers around the world.

This assembly was conducted by confident anchors Tenisi and Daanish and started with the school prayer by the choir group. Beautiful Thought of the Day on Gratitude was spoken by Jaivardhan. Two Words of Better Pronunciation by Jiyanshu was very informative. National, International, and sports news was read by Rudraansh, Sanidhya, Krishnansh while Bhavya read the school news. Speech on the Importance of Labour’s Day was given by Kanwalpreet   and Jivika. The Assembly ended on a melodious note from Aarush, Vihaan, Krishay and Raghav on Gratitude towards the workforce of the world. The song was well recieved. The Class Incharge, Ms Chandrani Desarkar spoke on a positive note that gratitude leads to inner happiness and the assembly was wrapped up by Rashmi Puri who spoke on the the preparation of the annual Design and Innovation Fair and how should they go about it.

Overall, it was an informative as well as entertaining assembly.
