BLUE NUDGE AMBASSADORS

Blue Planet orchestrated an empowering Waste Collection Drive in Blue Bells Model School with the aim of mobilizing their dedicated team of Blue Nudge Ambassadors on 27^th July 2023 in the school premises.  The session commenced with an invigorating interaction and presentation, shedding light on the immense impact of waste pollution on marine ecosystems and the urgent need for action. The Blue Nudge Ambassadors, driven by a shared passion for ocean conservation, have decided to take up the challenge.

The resource person from Blue Planet, Mr Arvind Iyer, Assistant Programme Manager expressed that the Blue Nudge Ambassadors of the school are passionate individuals led by example and we expect that more people would join the cause, expanding the Blue Nudge movement's influence far beyond expectations.

The session served as a powerful call-to-action, uniting like-minded individuals in their commitment to safeguard the oceans and inspiring hope for a cleaner, bluer planet.

‘Let’s nurture the nature so that we can have a better future’

World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated on July 28 across the world in order to raise awareness about protecting nature and conserving our natural resources. A special assembly was organized by the students of class VB to celebrate this day.

The assembly started with the regular features of the assembly followed by significance wherein the importance and purpose of nature conservation was highlighted. Nukkad Natak on the Topic :“Dharti Humari Dharohar – Save Earth Save Resources” was performed which showcased the importance of conservation of air, water, soil, trees and animals. The role play enabled the students to develop deeper awareness and understanding about natural resources. Thereafter a stunning dance performance followed by a special song on Earth was sung to save and care for our planet earth. The students were able to successfully deliver the message that only if we all work together and conserve nature, can we live happily on the earth. Primary Wing in charge Ms. Pallavi Sinha motivated the students for their efforts.

 The assembly was concluded with National Anthem.

World Nature Conservation Day

‘Nature is not to be exploited but to be cherished’.

World Nature Conservation Day is observed annually on July 28 and in sync ,Class VII C presented the assembly in the school on 25^th July 2023. The occasion aimed to create awareness about the need to preserve the environment and natural resources in order to keep the environment healthy. Saving plants and animals that are threatened with extinction is one of the primary focuses of the nature conservationists.

The assembly started with the school prayer and song followed by news headlines and significance of day. A group of students presented a small skit to sensitize the gathering on the importance of conservation for the present and future generation.  A guest speaker and parent, Ms. Aparna Priyadarshini was invited on this day to speak on ways to reduce carbon emission and minimise our carbon footprints. She is an alumna of IIT-C and holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Asian Institute of Management, Manilla and Singapore. She presented the content through a PowerPoint Presentation which further made the topic easy and relatable to the students.  

The final presentation was a group dance based on conservation of nature. The entire class of 36 was involved and contributed towards the assembly. The vote of thanks was presented by Ms Rashmi Puri and the assembly wrapped up with the national anthem.

Report of NCC Camp

"NCC Camps are the forge where ordinary youth are shaped into extraordinary individuals."

The 10-day NCC ATC (106) camp was organized by 5 HR BN NCC in Govt. College Gurugram Sector 9, under the leadership of Col.Arunava Kundoo, wherein almost 600 cadets attended the camp from all over NCR. This camp left a profound impact on the 67 cadets from Blue Bells Model School. Focused on drill, weapons, and discipline, it instilled precision, coordination, and patriotism through marching and formations. Rigorous exercises improved physical fitness, while emotional growth encompassed leadership, teamwork, and self-control.

NCC camps played a crucial role in shaping holistic development, fostering discipline, leadership, patriotism, and social responsibility. The acquired skills and values have far-reaching implications, equipping participants to succeed in life and contribute positively to society. NCC camps serve as a platform for personal growth, character building, and nurturing a profound sense of national pride, ultimately contributing to a strong and prosperous nation.

We are proud to announce that Cadet Navam Yadav of Junior Wing secured second place in the cross-country competition, showcasing her endurance and skill. The SW Cadets also stood first in the Volleyball Tournament which demonstrated their teamwork and strength.

The cadets also gave a beautiful cultural performance where they emphasized the beauty of unity in diversity in India. The performance was appreciated by many.

World Nature Conservation Day_Math Activities

On account of World Nature Conservation Day, Primary Wing Blue Bells Model School conducted various Math activities. Students of Grade III enthusiastically participated in the Shape 'O' Bird/Animal activity. They showcased their creativity by crafting various birds and animals using 2-D shapes. The activity fostered their imagination and helped them understand the significance of shapes in art and nature. Grade IV students enhanced their spatial awareness and problem-solving abilities through the Tangram Bird and Animals activity. Through the Symmetry in Nature activity, students of Grade V explored the beauty of symmetry in natural objects like leaves, butterflies, and flowers, enhancing their observation skills and understanding of geometric concepts in the world around them. The activity sparked curiosity and appreciation for the wonders of symmetry in the natural world.

FELICITATION CEREMONY (SHUBHAM & SPARSH)

"Success is not merely the achievement of goals but the journey of self-discovery, growth, and resilience.

Blue Bells firmly believes in recognizing the genuine potential of its students and understands the significance of celebrating and honoring their accomplishments. Two notable alumni, Sparsh Yadav , UPSC AIR 51 from the Batch of 2010 and Shubham Yadav, Second Secretary at High Commission of India in Dhaka, Ministry of External Affairs , India  from the Batch of 2013, are true exemplars of achievement, having overcome challenges and emerging victorious, thus becoming inspiring role models for their juniors.

The school organized a ‘Felicitation Ceremony’ to offer heartfelt congratulations to both the students for their commendable feat. The auspicious occasion commenced with the lighting of diya followed by a presentation of Bhajan by the students of the school. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school accorded a formal welcome to the achievers, their parents and the Brahma Kumari sisters, Ms. Sunaina and Ms. Falguni. A video presentation on the journey of Shubham and Sparsh at BBMS made the august gathering to peep into the memory lane and applaud the two prodigies for their creditable stay with numerous achievements in academics as well as extra-curricular activities.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools showed her exuberance and elation while praising their remarkable achievement. She honoured them with a memento and shawl. In her address, Ma’am emphasized the fact that their commitment to excellence serves as a beacon of inspiration for all, reminding each one that with perseverance and a thirst for knowledge, the possibilities are boundless. She blessed them by saying that their success would be a stepping stone to even greater accomplishments in their journey of lifelong learning.

Shubham and Sparsh addressed their fellow school juniors, expressing that Blue Bells, as an institution, serves as a platform to nurture their true potential and guide them towards a promising future. They emphasized that every Bluebellian possesses the competence to achieve their goals if they utilize their time wisely and showcase their determination and brilliance. Both the achievers indeed proved the fact that in the pursuit of success, one will surely uncover one’s innate acumen and leave an indelible mark in the society. A number of queries were put forth by school students in an elaborate interactive session and the prodigies smilingly and patiently addressed all of them.  The teaching staff and the juniors were filled with joy and immense pride to have such exceptional talents within the school.

A spiritual discourse by Sister Sunaina and Sister Falguni on this special occasion and their insightful teachings created a serene and peaceful ambience. They eloquently delved into the topic of mindful activity and its profound impact on personal growth, particularly in enhancing a student's academic performance. The programme concluded with a meditation session for all the students which proved to be a fruitful experience for them to understand the significance of a tranquil mind to excel in every aspect of life.

CHAIL TRIP

Reading about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully, he can learn more than what is in books, for they speak with the voice of God.

A  5-day long adventurous camping trip to Chail, Himachal Pradesh was organized by Blue Bells Model School for the students of classes VI – VIII from from June 6 to June 10, 2023 with an idea to create a unique combination of fun and learning. It was a successful attempt in sensitizing them towards nature and to re-create their accord with the cosmos. The scintillating beauty of the camp, the melodious sound of the chirping birds, and relaxing natural tents left the students speechless. The resort was located in the lap of nature amidst the apple orchards. Camp premises were fenced, well-lit and had 24-hour power backup.

All were astonished by the serene  sunrise and sunset view in the laps of mountain and also enjoyed trekking while appreciating the scenic natural beauty. The days were divided into 5 phases that aligned with the natural body clock of the students. An hour of exercise which included stretching, jogging, push-ups, sit-ups etc. acted as a perfect warm-up for the tough physical activities that awaited. The camp had trained and first-aid-certified staff to ensure that the participants are safe and engaged.  Students enjoyed various low rope adventure activities followed by a plethora of activities like Rappling, Trekking, Rope Climbing, and Guerilla War held at the Camp posed sufficient challenges according to the age and level of students while providing a memorable and adventurous experience.  It made experiential learning authentic and safe. The most magnificent part of the camp was the Star Gazing activity.

 They were apprised about safety rules to be followed. Team building games and activities like Bone Fire dance with Music and Lights imparted a new vigorous experience. They identified their strengths, challenged their fears, and became confident and responsible individuals. Students explored the jungle and were given the feeling of raw living as they learnt about survival skills. To enhance their understanding, a discussion was initiated highlighting the importance of keeping the environment clean and green.They were given tips and tricks for making shelters, finding water underground, etc. From the figure of eight to the clove hitch, students learnt about various adventure knots used in mountaineering. In the last hours of the day, students gave strokes to their experience as well as expressed their thoughts  in the form of journal writing. On the last day, the students were appreciated with the titles like Best Tent, Best Navigator, Most Disciplined Group and many more, by the Chail Rocksport Camp.  They enjoyed amongst themselves, shared and relished the snacks and sumptuous meal, and had a great time together. The trip was an opportunity for the students to explore more about their surroundings and importance of nature. Overall the trip happened to be a riveting experience for everyone.

INTERNATIONAL CONNECT

‘Exploration and growth go hand in hand’.  

Keeping in sync with this ethos, the students of class XI and class XII Humanities yet again got an opportunity to study Research papers during Session II of Senior High School Research Colloquium 2023 organized by St. Patrick School - Quezon City, Philippines on July 20, 2023 via Zoom meeting. It was in continuation of the previous session conducted on July 13,2023. 

Students witnessed the presentations on the topic ‘Exploring the frontiers of interdisciplinary research and fostering innovation and collaboration’ The session was interactive and engrossing with a perfect blend of Presentation and Information.  A vast multitude of topics were covered- Case study on Students coping mechanism, importance of creating a green and sustainable environment in schools. Emphasis was laid on Afforestation in schools which would convert the haven of learning into Sustainable campus. 

Green marketing strategies were discussed. Thought provoking ideas such as effectiveness of cymbopogon citrus and citrus lemon as alternative board cleaners, comparisons between commercial floor wax and banana peel wax were shared. 

The research was extensively done using the techniques of Data Collection, qualitative data sampling, data analysis using correlation and scientific studies using the principles of Physics. 

This engaging session propelled students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives.  It was truly an informative and enriching interaction. 

Inter-school Business Summit 2023

"Where commerce meets creativity and humanities kindle the flames of imagination, there lies the heart of progress and the soul of our civilization."

In the realm of commerce and humanities, the students of Blue Bells Model School embarked on a journey of exploration and discovery to unravel the mysteries of trade and the wonders of human expression. The objective flowered in the Inter -school Business Summit 2023 in collaboration with Comm- shetra and Udbhav on July 22, 2023, where the students of Commerce and Humanities departments embraced the spirit of learning, incorporated the beauty of arts, and unlocked the potential that lies within each one of them. Dr Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, the Chief Guest of the event graced the occasion and declared the event open.   Mr.Rohit Pandey, an Edtech Expert and an alumnus of IIM, Calcutta graced the grand event as the Guest of Honour.

The mega event commenced with the lighting of diya followed by Saraswati Vandana. Commerce Humanities Wizards of the school, Yuvraj Singh, Kartik Sharma and Khushi Verma welcomed the august gathering by stating that today, the need is to create an awareness that commerce and arts are not just the streams of study but they are the rock foundation for the economic progress of a nation. Ms. Alka Singh, the school's Principal, eloquently emphasized that today's youth possess a remarkable ability to wield money effectively, propelling their innovations and creativity towards fostering sustainable financial growth.

Seventy one schools with more than 970 students across Gurugram participated in the Business Summit comprising online and offline events like Planathon, Supernova, Nitikaar, Digimark, Dialog, Samskriti, Timeless Reel, Legal Litigation League, Sustainable In Vogue, Rhythm Rapture and The Ultimate Res-Q. The events were adjudicated by Mr. Rohit Pandey, Ms.Sonika Bajpayee, an Assistant Professor at the BML Munjal University, Mr. Shiv Bidani, an entrepreneur in Banglore, Dr. Sucheta Sardar, an assistant professor, Ms Saloni Chabbra, an alumnus of Blue Bells, Mr. Sonika Garg, Mr. Vivek Arya. Founder & CEO of Imagitime, Mr. Sirav Talwar, Director at KK Talwar Fabriks Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Pankaj Suneja, Psychotherapist, Mr. Amrit Jaggi, working with Global University Systems Academy, Ms. Smriti Sian, an Advocate, Mr. Amolak, an Advocate in High Court and Supreme Court and Mr. Rushil Dhingra, an entrepreneur. Principals from reputed schools from across Gurugram witnessed the innovative and competitive spirit of each contestant and lauded their zeal and enthusiasm wholeheartedly.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, the esteemed school Director, honoured the occasion with her benign aura. Director Ma’am addressed the dignitaries and the participants by stating that every commercial is a social responsibility and we need to reflect on the fundamental ethical issues such as inclusion, dignity, and equality for humanity at large as commerce and humanities define our shared essence as human beings.

The day long Business Summit culminated with a remarkable showcase of snapshots capturing all the worthwhile significant events. The awe-inspiring fusion dance performed by the school dancers enthralled the audience, conveying the powerful message that innovation can turn dreams into reality and ideas can soar high. Mr Rohit Pandey extended congratulations to the winners and participants of each event and commended them with well-deserved trophies during the felicitation ceremony. DPS 45 bagged the overall trophy while DAV 14 clinched Runner Up trophy. The snapshot video made by Naman Dua was highly appreciated. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mohd Suhail, the Senior Coordinator. The mega event was indeed a resounding success enriching each one’s knowledge and experience to treasure.

ASSEMBLY ON WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY

‘Importance to skill development, competent will be our youth.’

The school celebrated ‘World Youth Skills Day' through an assembly organized by the students of Class VII D on July 19^th 2023. The objective was to create awareness about the importance of equipping young minds with the necessary skills to contribute to the nation building while promoting sustainable development all around them. Along with the regular features of assembly, the main objective was to acquaint the students with different skill set. The students highlighted the need and importance of developing newer skills through a bilingual street play. The topic was further reiterated through a speech. Special information was provided on how the youth can be trained in various skill sets through the 'Digital India Portal' being run by the Government of India to run the common peoples’ livelihood. The students showcased their instrumental and musical talent through a melodious musical rendition. Laurels were given to the winners of Rhythmic Raga 2023 by our Senior Wing Coordinator, Mr. Md. Sohail and he shared his words of appreciation for the wonderful presentation by the class. The assembly wrapped up with National Anthem.
