SESSION ON UNIFORM CIVIL CODE

An Interactive Session on Uniform Civil Code Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi, organised a seminar on “Uniform Civil Code – Need of the Hour?” on 13^th July 2023. On this occasion, the Governor of Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, delivered the keynote address. Former Union Minister and Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti, Vijay Goel, presided at the function. Arif Mohammed Khan stated in his address that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is essential for the country’s unity. Unfortunately, some people associate it with religion, whereas UCC is not targeting any particular religion. Instead, it advocates equal laws for all citizens of the country.

A cohort of 4 students with the mentor, Mr Yogesh Sharma attended the session. The interactive session aimed to promote gender equality, secularism, and a unified legal framework that would supersede the diverse personal laws based on different religious beliefs that currently exist in the country.

Workshop on Astronomy

“The stars are our playground, and through the Astronomy Club, we embark on a celestial journey of exploration, discovery, and wonder.”

The school organized an introductory workshop on astronomy that aimed at familiarizing students with the wonders of the universe. The workshop was conducted by Space Technology and Education Pvt. Ltd. also known as SPACE INDIA. It is a pioneer organisation with a legacy of 23 years in developing Astronomy, Space Science and STEM Education and Experiences at grassroots levels and beyond. Led by an experienced astronomer, the workshop covered topics such as the universe's vastness, stellar evolution, planetary science, and space exploration. Engaging presentations and hands-on activities, including telescope observations, constructing a model solar system, and identifying constellations, captivated the students. The workshop successfully sparked curiosity and provided a foundational understanding of astronomy, with hopes of inspiring further exploration in the field. Gratitude was extended to those involved in organizing and facilitating the event, which is expected to leave a lasting impact on the participants' scientific interests.

DOCTOR'S DAY CELEBRATION

Doctor's Day is a significant occasion that holds deep meaning as it serves to acknowledge, appreciate, and recognize the unwavering efforts, expertise, and sacrifices made by doctors.  In honour of the dedication, compassion, and selflessness work of the healthcare professionals, the Health & Wellness Programme at Blue Bells Model School, under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health and Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools, curated a special assembly to pay tribute to these remarkable individuals who serve as the saviours of our world—our doctors.

Under the mentorship of the Health & Wellness Team of the school, special assemblies were conducted on July 04, 2023 and July 06, 2023 for Middle Wing and Primary Wing respectively

The Special Assemblies were hosted by Lavanya Chopra, Primary Wing – Junior Health & Wellness Ambassador, and Junior Student Council members. Gauri Gokul, Peer Educator along with the students of Grade VIII D conducted the Middle Wing Assembly. All aspects of the assembly were intricately woven around the theme of saluting the invaluable contributions of healthcare providers. The audience applauded a captivating poem that portrayed doctors as superheroes, highlighting their unwavering dedication to caring for and treating us.

The school Medical Team, Dr. Rita and Dr. Sanjay Bhat, the school doctors, accompanied by the school nurse Ms. Rosamma, added value to the celebration by delivering an informative presentation on basic First Aid and Monsoon Tips. The students received guidance on safety rules and the proper utilization of items found in a First Aid Kit by Dr. Sanjay. Further Dr. Bhat and Dr. Rita emphasized on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene during the monsoon season.

To express their love and affection, the students showcased their creativity by presenting Dr. Rita, Dr. Bhat, and the school nurses with handmade cards. Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of BBMS graced the occasion with her benign presence. Ms. Pallavi Sinha, the Primary Wing Incharge and Ms. Anshu Mallika, Middle Wing Incharge, BBMS, concluded the Primary Wing and Middle Wing celebrations with an expression of gratitude. They heartily lauded the efforts of the doctors and nurses, emphasizing the vital role of the medical fraternity and their contributions to humanity.

Panel Discussion on ‘Role of Business in Promoting Sustainability and Environmental responsibility’

"Sustainability and environmental responsibility are not burdens we bear, but legacies we create for future generations."

The purpose of business in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility pertains to the obligations and actions that businesses must take to tackle environmental challenges and foster a more sustainable planet. As businesses have a significant impact on the environment due to their operations, resource consumption, and waste generation, they play a crucial role in shaping the future of our planet.

In a demonstration of unwavering commitment to sustainability goals, the students from the Commerce and Humanities departments of Blue Bells Model School organized a thought-provoking Panel Discussion on July 15, 2023 on 'The Role of Business in Promoting Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility' before the commencement of the Inter-school Business Summit scheduled for July 22, 2023.Ms. Alka Singh, Principal of the school cordially welcomed the keynote panelists and management members by stating that discussion of the forum would be a benchmark for the future sustainability goals. 

The school Head Girl, Yashi Kaushik introduced the moderators and the panelists. With a responsible global mindset, the school alumni,  Sauransh Bhardwaj, an entrepreneur and Shivangi, an Analyst with Sattva Consulting along with Mr Vikas Sharma, Mentor and Theatre prodigy moderated the panel discussion with the panelists, Mr. Sirav Talwar, Director at KK Talwar Fabriks Pvt. Ltd., Dr. KJ George, a PhD in the area of “Online Retail”, Ms. Sakshi Chhabra, an Assistant Professor at the BML Munjal University, Mr. Shiv Bidani, an entrepreneur in Banglore, Ms. Saloni Chabbra, an alumnus of BBMS, Mr. Vivek Arya, Founder & CEO of Imagitime, Mr. Rushil Dhingra, an entrepreneur, Mr. Amrit Jaggi, an academic partner for Pearl Academy India and Mr. Ashu J. an Academic Counsellor at IGNOU Centre.

During the Panel discussion, each panelist’s diverse perspectives were presented, exploring how businesses can play a pivotal role in addressing environmental challenges and upholding their responsibilities towards the planet. The forum discussion showcased an earnest concern for the well-being of our planet and sought to inspire actionable steps that can be taken within the business community to promote sustainability and how the young generation can play a pivotal role in bringing a tangible transformation in business strategies.

Tree Plantation Drive_Primary Wing

On account of Van Mahotsav, Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model school organized tree plantation drive. The students were made aware of how we can save our climate from pollution. This drive was a great initiative to make our atmosphere neat and clean. By tree plantation, we can develop a climax ecosystem free of greenhouse gases to reduce global warming.

Van Mahotsav Social Science & E.V.S. Department

The students of the Primary Wing of Bluebells Model School celebrated Van Mahotsav, a week-long plantation festival. They organized a vibrant assembly in J.D Hall on 12 July 2023 to highlight the importance of trees and nature in our lives. A plethora of events flooded the stage, beginning with prayer, pledge, and school song. Students presented an insightful thought in front of the audience, followed by international news updates and a weather report.

Children of Grade: IV & V delivered an informative and thought-provoking speech on the ‘Significance of Van Mahotsav’ to convey the message more realistically and effectively. A ‘Nukkad Natak’ on the ‘Importance and Conservation of Forests’ was also enacted using different props by the children. The students also presented a mesmerizing and riveting dance performance and melodious environmental songs, with graceful Manipuri outfits.

After that students took a pledge to take care of the environment. ‘If you save a tree, you save a life, If you plant a tree, you plant a life.’ Primary Wing In charge, Ma’am encouraged the students to make this statement strong and fruitful with a plantation drive.

To conclude the assembly, a Vote of Thanks was given. The program culminated with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Teachers’ Training Session by Blue Planet

Blue Bells Model School organized a Teachers Training Session on 12th July 2023 from 2:30-3:30 PM, conducted by the Blue Planet Environmental Solutions under the Blue Nudge initiative. The focus of the session was on the upcoming Waste Collection Drive, specifically aimed at paper recycling, to be launched in the school. The session aimed to equip teachers with knowledge and strategies to effectively implement the recycling initiative and educate students about the importance of waste management. The resource persons from the Blue Planet Team provided comprehensive training on waste segregation, collection methods, and the recycling process. The session encouraged active participation and engagement, fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among the teaching staff.

Assembly on to 'Van Mahotsav - The Festival of Trees’ – Class VII B

The grade VIIB students organized a special assembly on 11th July 2023 in the school auditorium, dedicated to 'Van Mahotsav - The Festival of Trees.' The primary objective of this assembly was to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation. The stage was brimming with a wide array of events that captivated the audience.

The assembly commenced with a thought-provoking reflection on the environment, stimulating the audience's contemplation. This was followed by a news update, providing the latest information related to environmental issues. An enlightening and compelling speech was delivered, emphasizing the significance of Van Mahotsav and its impact on our surroundings. To enhance the presentation and deliver the message in a more vivid and engaging manner, a short video showcasing the importance of this festival was shown.

The assembly also included a quiz session that tested the participants' knowledge about the significance of Van Mahotsav. This interactive segment allowed the students to actively participate and further deepen their understanding of the subject.

In order to portray the message in a visually captivating way, the students performed a mesmerizing and riveting dance on melodious environmental songs. Their graceful outfits added an extra charm to the performance, leaving the audience enthralled. Following the dance, a melodious group song on saving the environment was presented, resonating with the theme of the assembly.

Ms. Neelam Samanta, the class teacher, and Ms. Anshu Mallika Kumar, the Wing Incharge, encouraged the students to take a pledge to protect the environment, conserve water, and actively engage in tree planting. Their motivating words inspired the students to become responsible stewards of the environment.

The assembly concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem, uniting everyone in a shared sense of pride and patriotism. The event successfully conveyed the message of Van Mahotsav and highlighted the importance of tree plantation, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees.

Assembly On Guru Purnima_Grade IV-E

Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara, Guru Sakshat Parabrahma, Tasmei Shri Guru Namaha.

           A special assembly on Guru Purnima at Blue Bells Model School was commenced that honoured the significance of gurus in our lives. It was conducted by Grade IV E students with gratitude. The assembly began with a beautiful doha followed by speech highlighting the importance of gurus in our lives. Students presented their gratitude through heartwarming poems , songs ,dance  and handmade cards  to depict the significance of gurus in guiding and shaping young minds. The assembly was addressed by Ms Alka Singh ,Principal and Ms Pallavi Singh ,Wing-Incharge who shared their insights on the importance of teachers.The celebration served as a reminder of the importance of lifelong learning and the profound impact that teachers have on their student’s journey of knowledge and self -discovery.
