Middle Wing Assembly - A Tribute to the Martyrs

"Kargil is not a story of just winning, it’s a story of pain with pride.”

The students of Class VIII C paid homage and respect to the martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives fighting for India during the Kargil War. The assembly began with regular features highlighting the fact that Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed every year on 26 July. The day is celebrated to mark India's victory against Pakistan in Kargil war 1999. This year, marks the 22nd anniversary of India's victory in Kargil War. The operation was known as Operation Vijay. It lasted for around 60 days and came to an end on 26 July 1999. The students delivered a speech to enlighten the audience about the day, performed a street play voicing the sacrifice of the martyrs, a video showcasing why Kargil Diwas is commemorated and inspiring messages from the Armed Force Officers instilled the spirit of patriotism in the young hearts. When the students gave their musical performance the entire Assembly Hall reverberated with the symphony of ‘Saare Jahan se Achcha, Hindustan Hamara!’ The Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar, addressed the assembly and stirred the feeling of patriotism in the students by asking them to be active and involved citizens as that is the best way to support our nation and keep it strong.

A VISIT TO PEARL ACADEMY ; LEARNING BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Nurturing the next generation of creative change-makers, Blue Bells Model School provides ample opportunities to the learners. Studying at cutting-edge labs ensuring practical exposure to the fashion industry, the students went to Pearl Academy of Fashion, Vasant Kunj to witness the grand convergence of Technology and creativity on 21 July 2022 through Fashion Show and exhibition.

“Transcending their knowledge and learning beyond the classroom, the students had hands-on experience,” said the mentor, Ms Mona Sharma. The visit was organized to give a catalytic boost to the collaborative and competitive spirit among the students pursuing Fashion Designing as a subject.

Design Fair

Design Fair has been an integral part of Middle Wing Academic Plan for three consecutive years. Each year witnesses an array of exhibits pertaining to different ideas. Past two years students had been presenting their ideas virtually. This year the students were filled with enthusiasm, zeal and exuberance, they created separate ‘Incubation Cells’ to display their work. The young scientists, brain-writers, and designers of Middle Wing hosted the event - 'Future Play' -The Design Fair which provided a platform to support young innovators and entrepreneurs in order to design products and services with real social impact. Different projects and models that captured the attention of the guests were – 3D Projector, Fuel Efficient Vehicle, Eco-friendly Terracotta Air Conditioner, Sensor Tap, Air Purifier, Sign Language Converter, and Automatic Waste Segregation Bin. The event was open to the parents and other students as well. There were around 150 projects which were witnessed by around 500 visitors. The Design Fair was their innovation playground, the narratives were choreographed with the heart and soul of students which transformed from coarse to confidence, with the mentors’ motivation and guidance. Students had started working pre-vacation, teamed-coordinated during summer vacation and fine-tuned the projects after school reopening. Subject domains became undefined as the only theme which bound the complete wing was innovation, design and creativity. The school believes that dedication, hard work, creativity and cognitive skill set are all that students require to unleash their full potential and become ready for the future. The delighted parents were highly astounded to watch the bubbling and confident performance of their wards. The Director, Madam Saroj Suman Gulati, was enthralled to see the overwhelming presentation of each and every student.

Middle Wing Assembly on World Youth Skills Day

“Skill is the joined force of passion, experience, and intellect.”

The students of Class VIII B conducted their class assembly on the ‘World Youth Skills Day’ which is celebrated every year on July 15. The day is celebrated to mark the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. Its goal is to achieve better socio-economic conditions for today’s youth as a means of addressing the challenges of unemployment and under employment. The assembly progressed with regular features like thought for the day, significance of the week to a speech highlighting the importance of celebrating the day with an array of skills presented by the students in the form of table rendition, singing, dancing, and skating. The audience sat in bewilderment with the stupendous show presented by the students. The Class Incharge, Ms. Rashmi Puri, addressed the students and advised the students never to give up unless they mastered a skill that they are trying to learn as giving up is never an option.

DOCTOR'S DAY CELEBRATION

“Real heroes don’t wear capes, they wear white coats and we call them Doctors.”

The world has become a better and healthier place to live in with doctors bringing the joy of health and goodness to our lives. Health & Wellness Programme, Blue Bells Group of Schools, under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health and Wellness) Blue Bells Group of Schools, has been incessantly working to sensitize students to various themes related to health & well-being and social, emotional & cognitive domains.

National Doctor's Day is observed on 1st July every year in India, to mark the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.C. Roy and also acknowledge his extraordinary contributions to the medical fraternity.

In sync with the same vision, to salute the relentless efforts of the doctors, the Primary Wing of the school celebrated Doctor’s Day. Slot wise special assemblies were organized on July 6, 2022, under the guidance of the Health & Wellness Team of the school.

Assemble hosted by the junior Health & Wellness Ambassador Ayaana Singh and School head Girl Varnika along with students of Grades III to V respectively. The assemblies began on a pious note by invoking the blessings of the Almighty with Ganesh Vandana. All the assembly features were interwoven around the theme of celebrating the contributions of the custodians of health. A mesmerizing poem on the role of doctors as superheroes and how they dedicate their lives to caring for and treating us, was applauded by all.

Adding value to the celebration, Dr. Sanjay Bhat, the school doctor along with the school nurse Ms. Neelam Kumari, gave an informative presentation on basic First Aid. The students were apprised of the safety rules and the uses of items in the First Aid Kit. They were briefed about the importance of administering First Aid in case of an emergency before the arrival of medical help. Dr. Bhat further emphasised on safety measures which must be taken in various areas like in the kitchen, at home, in the playground, on road, in the park, in the swimming pool where children visit frequently. He focused on proper hygiene which is to be maintained for a safe and healthy life.

The students showcased their creativity and expressed their heartfelt gratitude by giving a bouquet of handmade cards and a specially designed handmade calendar to Dr. Bhat and the school nurse. The assembly was concluded with the gratitude note by the Ms. Pallavi Sinha, Primary Wing Leader. She appreciated the efforts put up by the doctors and nurses. She highlighted the importance of medical fraternity and their contribution to humanity.

Internship Programme for Students of Blue Bells Model School

Experiential, Hands-on Learning has become the buzzword of the teaching-learning process today because practical, skill-based learning only, can carve employment generators. In an effort to blend classroom knowledge and theory with practical application and abilities Blue Bells Model School organized an Internship program for its students based on the recommendations of the NEP.  

The Internship program was designed & corroborated by Ayka, Project Inclusion, Leanly, Wineural & NeoQn. Tasks offered to the students during internship were Social Media Manager, Video Editor, Content Writer, Researcher (mainly in field of education, poverty, and equality), Web Development, Coding, Wall painting in rural areas, Conducting extracurricular workshops with underprivileged children like art, drama, GK, soft skills, Fundraising for education (both online and offline), Organizing donation drives, Design Team (designing posters etc.), Human resources (organizing, management, working with psychologists), Marketing team (working on our venture to provide free counseling sessions) and Volunteers (offline): Conducting workshops in special education in schools, organizing mental health drives, and running awareness campaigns. 

Student interns gained experience in professional & community settings. Students also gained added benefits of professional recommendations, resume-worthy experience, and networking opportunities.  

The venture received great appreciation from the parents of the interns. They expressed that such programmes contributed in preparing the students to become future ready.   

Blue Bells Model School Launches ‘ Jagrukta Rath’ in collaboration with MCG

It's time to make the green switch – Say no to the use of single-use plastic and make Gurugram and India free from plastic litter”, said Ms Alka Singh, Principal Blue Bells Group of Schools. The school in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Gurugram organised an Awareness Drive in the school and launched the ‘Jagrukta Rath’ on 14 July 2022 in the school premises. The programme was graced by Ms Madhu Azad, Mayor, MCG, Mr Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, W/Commissioner, Shri Jaideep Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Sh Subhash Yadav, Nodal Officer Environment and Sustainability Wing MCG, Sh Akhilesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner MCG, Sh Vijaypal Yadav, Joint Commissioner (HQ) MCG, Smt Seema Pahuja Councillor Ward No.15, Ms Soumya Gulati, and Mr Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Mr Kuldeep Hindustani, Programme Coordinator. A myriad of activities like Puppet Show, Inspirational Song and Nukkad Natak were held to motivate children to be the torch bearers of this initiative. Under the drive, Cloth bags and saplings were distributed to children. “It is to address this issue as well as to make people aware about the negative environmental impacts of plastic and encourage them to use the environment-friendly alternatives”, said revered Mr Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools in his keynote address.

Therefore, lets us make a decision to protect our health and environment by creating a better and safer place for future generations.
