AN INFORMATIVE SESSION ON‘ STUDY OPTIONS ABROAD

We at Blue Bells believe in empowering our students about varied new wave career options and also apprise them about reputed institutions both within the country and abroad so that they make right choices as they move ahead in life.  In sync with the same objective a session for classes XI and XII on International studies was conducted on November 22 , 2019 as a part of the Health & Wellness Programme under the patronage of Dr.AlkaSaxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS.  The session was conducted by Dr. Erwin Oh. , Director International and Faculty of Graffith University, Australia. Theeminent resource person was accorded a warm welcome by Anshita Raghav, the Health & Wellness Ambassador & Shagun Jain, the Peer Educator.

Ms. Elisabeth Findlay, Associate Professor ,  Director (International) for the Arts, Education and Law Group at Griffith University, Dr Michelle Bissett , an occupational therapist in Australia and the United Kingdom and Dr Kuldeep Sandhu ,  a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Business Strategy and Innovation presented an informative session on stream selection, effective career planning and career optionsavailable worldwide. They spoke on common myths regarding career and elaborately discussed untrodden careers in vivid fields which can prove to be rewarding in the future.

 The main motive of this session was to help students understand the various career options available.  The session concluded with an ‘open house’ where the students’ queries were effectively addressed.  The session gave a strong impetus to students aspiring to study abroad.

SUBJECT ENRICHMENT WORKSHOP FOR THE STUDENTS OF COMMERCE

 A Subject Enrichment Workshop in Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy was organized by Blue Bells Model School for the students of Commerce stream on November 21, 2019. The eminent Resource Person for the workshop was Mr. Subhash Dey, a living legend and renowned author of 22 subjects in varied fields of study.

Discussion started with the CBSE sample papers of Economics and Accountancy. Sir also threw light on expected questions for 2019-20 Board examination. Each concept was taken in detail and various aspects regarding the same were discussed. He suggested Time Plan while taking exams based on the weightage of marks. He advised the students to remain away from distractions created by mobile phones, cinemas and social media.

He insisted on self-study by the students and making notes having key words and time lines. He also discussed the multiple ways of asking the same question in board examination. He advised the students to make an achievable but strict time table for achieving better score. Taking good care of health by taking healthy and nutritious food was also stressed by him.

Important notes, question bank of the three subjects and their solutions, objective type questions were shared. It was a very interesting and interactive session which was closed by the query handling session. Apart from subject knowledge, the main take away for the participants were humanity, selfless service, love for each child and making the subject interesting.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING – INDUSTRIAL VISIT BY THE STUDENTS

Industrial visit enhances the learning curve of a student and is an important part of the School curriculum as theoretical knowledge coupled with practical learning paves way for a glorious future. With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work, in sync with the same to equip the students with real working of a fashion unit , a group of students from Fashion Studies visited   the Cotton Crafters Factory, ITM Manesar, which manufactured finished goods such as handbags, duffle bags, and backpacks on November 18, 2019 .

The school team was addressed by Mr. Shailesh Mital, President, Cotton Crafters.  They were taken on  a detailed tour of the premises along with explanation of each procedure to convert the raw material into a bag. A brief was given on the Security Systems along with the Emergency Fire Insulation Department. All the queries of the students were answered aptly. The students were impressed by the functioning and planning of things in the unit wherein efficient merging of Human Resource Department along with their Department for Corporate Social Responsibility was the highlight. Mr. Mital told the school team about how he got an idea of assigning special designation amongst the staff itself to act under emergency situations and ensure everybody’s safety. It was a unique learning experience for the school team.

150 BIRTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF MAHATMA GANDHI

BLUE BELLIANS PARTICIPATED IN THE JOINT CULTURAL PROGRAMME ON INDIA BOLIVIA TOWARDS PEACE AND NON VIOLENCE ON 150 BIRTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF MAHATMA GANDHI

Cultivation of culture is the essence of learning at Blue Bells Model School, Sector 4 , Gurugram. Each and every endeavour of the school is focused to tickle the fecund imagination of the students and add value to their learning. In sync with the same vision , Blue Bellians participated in the Cultural Programme by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti along with the Bolivian Embassy to India on November 13, 2019. They had the privilege to be addressed by His Excellency, The Bolivian Ambassador to India, Mr. Juan Cortaz Rojas, and former Minister of Indigenous People’s Affairs, Mr. Ricardo Calla. A discussion on the Gandhian Ideologies and his methods of Non- Violence and Truthfulness was the highlight of the Programme. Madam Jenny Cardenas and her Musical Troupe which were the Capihuaras form Bolivia enthralled all with the melodious performance as they paid tribute to the Father of the Nation. Ma’am shared her past experiences of war, the country Bolivia fought with their neighboring country Paraguay and also expressed her deepest concern over Non- Violence in modern times and how the two countries settle to the foundation of their relations standing upon peace and brotherhood. The experience was gratifying as the students shared ideas and gained an insight on how they can work towards world peace.

GURUPURAB CELEBRATION

 “Enlighten your Heart and Soul with the Spiritual Belief of Waheguru,

It will guide you to the Right Path and bring Peace and Solitude.”

A Special Assembly was conducted by the students of Class III A  to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti and National Day of Unity- birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on November 11, 2019.

The Primary Wing choir rendered “Shabad Gaan” adding to the serenity of the occasion. To apprise the students about the preachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji a Talk Show was presented by the students. They also displayed placards carrying forward the message of unity and peace. Baltej Singh of IV D mesmerized all with Shabad Gaan in his soulful voice.

All took a pledge of Unity and Integrity of the country. Students shared their food uplifting the spirit of sharing and caring.

40th FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Blue Bellians celebrated 40 Years of their school’s glorious journey

‘Human contribution to the society is an essential ingredient as it is only in the giving of oneself to others that we truly live.’

In the history of Blue Bells Model School November 10 is marked as a golden day as it was on this day that the foundation of an exemplary institution was laid. The school commemorated 40 years of its spectacular journey on November 8, 2019. The day’s celebration was a memorable voyage for the school management, students and staff to retrace the school’s promising beginning and the dream that has powered the school to its present stature. A special assembly was organized to celebrate the auspicious occasion through a gamut of activities. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, the Director BBGS graced the occasion by her benign presence. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

 To make the day really worth cherishing the school Alumni were specially invited on the occasion who universally proclaimed that they owe their education to their mentors. The talented ex-students who have made a mark in diverse professional fields shared their vision regarding the future panorama of the school in the Panel Discussion ‘The Vision of the School in 2023’. The discussion on future strategies, policies and financial planning of the school was indeed an uplifted vision of this magnificent institution. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati addressed the gathering and wished the school to grow in the field of knowledge, culture and education.

A myriad of activities were planned to contribute towards an all-round development of the young Blue Bellians. The zealous students showcased their innate acumen in several competitions. In ‘Inter-house Rangoli Competition’ with the theme ‘Resurgence, Growth and My Vision for my School’, ‘Inter-house Flower Arrangement Competition’ and ‘Cover Page Designing for the School Almanac and Magazine’, the students put forth their unique innovative skills which was highly admirable. Online Quiz which unfolded questions on the theme ‘How Well You Know Your School’ witnessed students’ exuberance in attempting the questionnaire.

The teachers of the school shared their memories and expressed heartfelt feelings of their long association with the institution through beautiful poem recitation and dance rendition. A movie on the glorious journey of 40 years took everyone down the memory lane where each and every milestone that the school achieved was dexterously portrayed. On this pious occasion the school also took the initiative to provide basic need items for the inmates of ‘Old Age Home’ Sec-4, Gurugram. This humanitarian gesture from the school side indeed instilled the value of love and care amongst the students.

The celebration of this four decade journey undeniably gave the assurance that the esteemed institution has carved a niche in the realm of education and promises to serve the society by offering confident, benevolent, honest, humane and well educated citizens to the nation.

CYBERMAZE 2019: AN INTRA SCHOOL IT FEST

Technological advancements in the world have been possible due to innovative thinking, original concepts, original ideas and a broad vision. The school organized CyberMaze 2019, an Intra School IT Fest from November 6 & November 7, 2019 , to provide a unique learning platform to the students to hone their tech skills. The competition was a beehive of science and technological activity where the objective was to cultivate the creative spirit, practical ability and encourage outstanding talent among students.

The Opening Ceremony held on November 6, 2019 was graced by the benign presence of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director IT , BBGS . Mrs. Alka Singh , Principal accorded a formal welcome to the august audience . Madam Anshuka declared the event open for the tech enthusiasts of the school.

A plethora of activities were organized for classes III to XI. The Preliminary Round for the events was conducted a week prior and Finals of the events were there on November 6, 2019. Class III competed in Doodling on MS Paint , Class IV made a presentation on MS-PowerPoint, Class V made a Poster Designing on MS Word, Class VI created a Story on Scratch, Class VII used the software Movie Maker to compose a Movie, Class VIII created an Advertisement using Photoshop , Class IX made a Movie using Sony Vegas Pro/Premoier Pro/After Effects / Filmora , Class X worked on Website using HTML/CSS/Java Script and Class XI invented MIT App Inventor along with Robotics for Classes III to X.

The Closing Ceremony of the Mega IT Fest on November 8, 2019 , was adorned with the illustrious presence of  Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, revered Director, Madam Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director –IT, BBGS and Mr. Rakshit Tandon, Advisor, Cyber Crime Cell , Moradabad , Up & Haryana Police Academy. Mr. Tandon graciously agreed to be the Chief Guest for the occasion. Sir is also an eminent member of Gurgaon Police Safe Surfing Campaign and took two sessions with the students of classes IV to VII and VIII, IX &  XI to guide them on Cyber Safety Issues and concerns. The students presented a well orchestrated programme with a perfect amalgamation of Skit, dance and Reminiscence- a kaleidoscopic view of CyberMaze 2019. The achievers of various IT Competitions were felicitated by Mr. Rakshit Tandon and Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy  Director IT , BBGS.

Mr. Rakshit Tandon congratulated the students for a wonderful show and presentation. He asked the students to be Tech Savvy rather than Tech Slaves. Blue Bellians made their alma mater proud by being open to experimentation and challenges to reach higher goals set.

The creativity and skills of the participants were adjudged by eminent Computer Faculty members of the Blue Bells Family.

INTERNATIONAL ROBOTICS CHALLENGE SCHOOL LEAGUE

BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL HOSTED GURUGRAM QUALIFIER OF INTERNATIONAL ROBOTICS CHALLENGE SCHOOL LEAGUE

‘Technology promises mankind to become the master of the world.’

Blue Bells Model School believes in providing opportunities and platform to young learners to explore the unknown, innovate and excel in their targeted field. The Gurugram Qualifier of the 10th Season of IRC School League kicked off on November 2, 2019 with a big bang at the school with a clear objective to search the best of talent at the school level to solve social problems with the help of modern technology. The day was adorned by the illustrious presence of Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director , BBGS , Madam Anshuka Aneja , Deputy Director-IT, BBGS and dignitaries from Avishkar Box .

IRC is the Asia’s biggest Robotics Competition organized by Avishkaar. 70 Teams from renowned schools from Delhi & Gurugram participated in the mega event and showcased their problem solving and designing skills around the theme Bot Olympics. The teams participated across three levels – Junior, Middle and Senior. The teams got 2 to 6 minutes to run their robots and scored the maximum  points .

The winners in the qualifiers to school level will represent their challenge in the Grand National Finale at the Thyagaraj Stadium, Delhi in December.

The mammoth confederation indeed proved the fact that if young aspirants are encouraged, they can think out of the box and come up with unique ideas to solve problems. The competition undoubtedly witnessed the commendable creativity of the participants in designing robots and their mechanized activities.

 Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools wholeheartedly appreciated the efforts of the tech Geeks and felicitated the achievers and wished them success in their future endeavours.

RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS

BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL CELEBRATED RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS TO COMMEMORATE THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SARDAR VALLABH BHAI PATEL

 India is a secular country with diversified cultures and the significances in their own kind. As an endeavour to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, the country celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel on October 31, 2019  as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). In line with the celebrations countrywide, Blue Bells Model School following the CBSE mandate organized various activities in the school premises in order to extend their heartfelt appreciation about the life and the involvement of the great leader, Sardar Patel, in the veritable contribution during the freedom struggle and to lay a foundation of a unified country fused with oneness. The idea was to inculcate in the young future generation the  values integrated with the knowledge and adoration about the country’s rich heritage.

A throng of activities were organized all through the day to support the cause of promoting unity and celebrating “National Unity Day” in the school premises. Activities involved collaborative effort to convey the message of importance of unity in sustaining any work. The occasion provided with an opportunity to reaffirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats .

The Programme commenced with a pledge that was administered by  of the school which was an affirmation of the commitment taken by the young Indians to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation. The major focus was on ‘RUN FOR UNITY’ , race to spread awareness among the students on role of Sardar Patel in unifying the country as he was the statesman of integrity with practical acumen and resolved to accomplish a monumental task of keeping 562 princely states united to give a definite shape to future India. The students were involved in various activities like March Past , Run For Unity , Essay & Debate. The event conveyed the message of Unity, Safety and Security to all and the students carried across the unifying message to act as Unity, Safety, and Security Ambassadors.

SENSITIZING STUDENTS ON SAFETY: WORKSHOP ON SAFE TOUCH

With a vision to sensitize and aware the young Blue Bellians about their personal safety, sessions on Safe Touch were planned and prepared  by the Health & Wellness Resource Center Team under the mentorship of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director( Health & Wellness), BBGS.   These sessions were taken with the students of Classes III  to VIII in different time slots by the members of Health & Wellness Team in the month of September 2019 to help them understand personal safety and ways to keep themselves safe.  

The focus of the session was to make students aware about the personal zones of their bodies for their safety. Difference between safe & unsafe touch, adopting safety measures like- ‘Say No’, ‘Scream’, ‘Run for Help’ & and ‘Tell’ a trusted adult (Like, Parents, Teachers & Counsellors) were also shared with them. . To help the students understand the concept, an effective discussion on ‘Stranger Safety’ was undertaken, wherein students shared their concerns and views. The session was summarized by showing age appropriate videos to students on safety, suggested by the CBSE and the Gurgaon Police.

The students found the workshop to be informative and  felt that they were better equipped now to face these challenges.
