CLASS ASSEMBLY : CREATIVE CHANNELIZATION OF INNATE POTENTIAL

Class Assembly provide this platform to Gen Now to identify their potential and bring into light the issues that require immediate attention of the World. In pursuance of the same vision , Class IX A presented their Assembly on International Peace , IX B on AD ASTRA PER ASPERA (THROUGH HARDSHIPS TO THE STARS) and IX C on  importance of Gandhi’s thought in today’s scenario to attain World peace on September 19 , September 26 and October 3, 2019 respectively.

CULTIVATING SUSTENANCE LEARNING: BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL ATTENDED THE PRESTIGIOUS ADDRESS BY HIS HOLINESS , THE DALAI LAMA

Blue Bells Model School aims at holistic education of the students catering to an all-round development of the personality by inculcating in them abiding love for traditional values and cultural heritage along with honing their skill set.

In sync with the same vision , the school team attended the address by His Holiness the Dalai Lama  on  ‘Educating The Heart And Mind’ on  September 20, 2019 at The Shriram School,Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. The programme was organized by SPIC MACAY and only selected 50 schools from Delhi & NCR were permitted to send their representatives for the same. Amidst heavy security and 2300 fellow students , Blue Bellians attended an hour long session  that focused on tapping the potential of the young generation as they are the catalyst of change.

Blessing the audience, the epitome of world peace and compassion, His Holiness the Dalai Lama began his interaction by pointing out that the students in the gathering are the true generation of 21st century  and the prospect for either a happy or a troubled future relies on the youth as they are the harbingers to  build an amicable and happy society.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama further held India as one significant example of having a potential sense of oneness as he expressed much respect and appreciation for the country’s unity and harmony despite the diversity. His Holiness was positive that India has great potential to lead rest of the nations by being an example.

The students absorbed  the wisdom of the most loved and revered world peace icon and  came  with collectible values of love and compassion instilled in them by him.

FURTHERING THE MISSION OF EDUCATION-FOREIGN DELEGATION VISITS BLUE BELLS

An effort to further the mission of education, a delegation from Macedonia and Serbia visited Blue Bells Schools Gurugram on September18, 2019.  The delegation aimed at building international camaraderie and promoting Students-Exchange Programmes in the near future.  Exchange of pedagogical practices was a mutual learning experience. During the visit to Blue Bells Model School, sector 4 and Blue Bells Public School, sector 10 Gurugram, the delegates toured the Learning and Development Centre, Health and Wellness Resource Centre, the Atal Tinkering Lab and other subject specific labs of the schools.  The Trans disciplinary approach and activity based learning transaction highly impressed the delegates. Exchange of knowledge and learning progression showcased through activities won their hearts. The bond between students and facilitators during a story session showcased the happy learning environment at the schools.

The traditional welcome accorded to the visiting team along with student interaction left an indelible imprint on their minds and they highly lauded the effort of the institution in grooming the students in rich values and traditions along with a progressive mindset.

PROMOTING  A SAFE & SECURED SCHOOL AMBIENCE : Awareness session  ON, The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO ) Act & Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act and Responsibilities & Code of Conduct for Teaching & Non- teaching staff

AT BLUE BELLS MODEL  SCHOOL, SECTOR 4, GURUGRAM

When ensuring safety within schools a holistic approach is imperative to create an environment which looks at the multiple dimensions of vulnerability faced by the child, be it mental, emotional, cognitive, social, cultural, geographical or physical, keeping in mind the child's entire cycle of engagement with the educational environment and the system.

We , at Blue Bells believe that a  safe school environment makes children's rights a reality, restores hope, eliminates bias, upholds dignity in the child's life and creates an enabling environment that supports a child's positive personality development. In sync with the same objective a Workshop was  organized for the teachers by Health & Wellness Resource Centre under the   inspiring  guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy  Director  (Health & Wellness), BBGS, on September 18, 2019  . The teachers were sensitized and made aware of the The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO ) Act & Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act and Responsibilities & Code of Conduct for Teaching & Non- teaching staff.

It was reiterated in the session that  children are innocent and trusting by nature  and  they need to be protected against any  abuse . Therefore, the teachers play a pivotal role to protect them in the school if they do not become a prey to such acts. The presentation was shared with the teachers by the Principal , Senior Coordinator and Middle Wing In-charge.

The  POCSO and JJ Act were elaborately explained  as they are  adopted by India to safeguard children from offences.  The POCSO Acts provides the guidelines  to protect children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography and provide for establishment of Special Courts for trial of such offences and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Principal Ma’am  gave a brief to everyone on  Responsibilities and Code of Conduct statements to provide a clear picture to the teachers for ensuring students’ safety in the school. This code is applicable to all employees and any person who comes in contact with the school system. Ma’am gave a detailed description on the vision and mission of the school as far as students’ safety  is concerned, and also updated everyone on  the roles and responsibilities of ‘Child Abuse Monitoring Committee’ and ‘Core Committee Members’ to make children feel safe and secured in the school premises.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Alka Saxena , Deputy Director ( Health & Wellness), BBGS said that the whole objective of session was   to sensitize teachers so that  children can be protected from abuse and their safety can be ensured by providing  a safe learning environment. 

INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY AND HINDI DIWAS

 “We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” – Dalai Lama

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. In order to spread awareness amongst the students about International Peace Day, the students of Class VI D conducted their assembly on the same theme. The students presented a Nukad Natak depicting the theme of 2019 “Climate Action for Peace”. The Nukad Natak drew attention to the importance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world. The speech that was delivered threw light on the declaration of the day by the General Assembly that declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

The Hindi Club – ‘ABHYUDAYA’ – gave their club presentation on September 17, 2019 ,  to impart the information about Hindi Diwas that is celebrated all over India on September 14 since 1953. The students conducted an open quiz comprising of four rounds like – Tongue Twisters, Identify the Idiom, Identify the Poets or Poetesses, Correct the Saying. The rounds were quite interesting and the compering team was able to captivate the attention of all the students as well as the teachers present there.

The Class and Hindi Club Incharge, Ms. Shubhra Ghosh, addressed the assembly and told the students the need to respect the language and use it with full reverence. The Middle Wing Incharge, Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar  appreciated the endeavours of the students for conducting such an informative assembly.

GRANDPARENTS’ DAY CELEBRATION

SALUTING THE SPIRIT OF SELFLESS LOVE : BLUE BELLS MODEL SCHOOL CELEBRATED  GRANDPARENTS’  DAY CELEBRATION

Grandparents are a delightful blend of laughter, caring deeds, wonderful stories and Love. To pay a solemn tribute to the unconditional love, support and guidance extended by the grandparents to nurture the young saplings, Grandparents’ Day was celebrated in the school with utmost zeal and enthusiasm on September 14, 2019.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools. A well synchronized cultural programme was presented by the students as an expression of their gratitude towards the angels who have transcended their lives with eternal pleasure. To make the day enjoyable, refreshing and momentous for the grandparents various games were arranged in which they all enthusiastically participated.  It was an enthralling moment for all, as the grandparents were taken back down the memory lane and child in them was elated.

Speaking on the occasion Director Ma’am greeted and congratulated all the grandparents for sparing their valuable time for being the part of the festivity.  It was a memorable experience for all as everyone rejoiced in the company of Grandparents who are an epitome of warmth and radiance.

HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION

“Hamari Bhasha Hamari Dharohar”

“Language is the key to the heart as it opens all the channels of communication.”   It was on 14th September in the year 1949 that the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Republic of India.

To inculcate and infuse this sense of pride in the students about our mother tongue ‘Hindi’, Hindi Diwas was celebrated in the school on  September 12,2019.  A special Morning Assembly was organized by Class X D tracing the origin of Hindi language and its various subdivisions.  The students presented all the features of the Assembly in Hindi and gave remarkable presentations for the same. The school Choir enthralled all with  a soulful rendition to emphasize on the importance of our mother tongue Hindi.  The Morning Assembly concluded on a promising note where the importance of the language was highlighted in today’s scenario.  It was a promising beginning of the day.

PEER EDUCATOR FELICITATION CEREMONY (2019)

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.

Blue Bells Model School believes that empowering the students with Values & Life Skills enables them to become responsible citizens and to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. The Health & Wellness Programme of the school launched its own Peer Educator Programme in the year 2015 for the students of classes VI – XII, under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS. The team of Peer Educators consists of a Health & Wellness Ambassador from class XII, a Peer Mentor from class XI and 14 Peer Educators from classes VI to X. These students are an integral part of the Student Council and are selected through a well planned process. They work as a bridge between teachers & students and also conduct especially designed sessions for the students along with School Counsellors and Life Skills Facilitators.

The team of Peer Educators for the session 2019-20 were selected through a vigorous selection procedure wherein all the nominated students appeared in theWritten Round, Awareness Campaign, JAM Session and Team building Activities, while the shortlisted candidates underwent a Personal interview with Dr. Alka Saxena. The entire process offered a new learning experience to all the participants.

The PEER EDUCATOR FELICITATION CEREMONY for the academic session 2019-20 was conducted  on September 11, 2019 to bestow the deserving students with responsibilities in order to involve them in effective functioning of the school system.

The newly selected Health & Wellness Council Members for the Academic Session 2019-20 were conferred with badges by Ms. Alka Singh, the Principal, BBMS.She congratulated them and also exhorted them to uphold the values and reminded them that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledged to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.

Nurturing the students to be future leaders, an Introductory Session for newly elected Peer Educators of Blue Bells Model School was planned & conducted by  Health and Wellness Ambassador, Anshika Raghav and the Peer Mentor, Khushi Jain who were trained by Ms. Swati Nagpal and Ms. Prerna Karkhanis under the able guidance of our mentor Dr. Saxena, on September 16, 2019.The entire process offered a new learning experience to all the participants.

GANESH UTSAV

Festivals inform, educate, bring people together, break the monotony of routine and give us a chance to reenergize our body, mind and spirit. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav.

The students of Blue Bells Model School celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with much fervor and joy. The assembly was conducted by class IV A on September 09, 2019. The celebration  commenced with a traditional lamp lighting and aarti. Children showcased dances, songs and skits depicting the importance of Lord Vinayaka. An  Eco- friendly Ganesha was created on the spot by the students  using leaves and flowers.

  The day concluded with lot of learning and upheld the commitment of school to promote Swachhta and pollution free environment through  the visarjan of eco-friendly Lord   Ganesha in a water vessel.
