Think safe, Work safe, Be safe

Safety is of utmost importance in our life and learning about safety measures can lead to safer behaviours in later life. So to make the students aware of the safety and precautions we need to take while on the road, the students of class III B presented an assembly on Road Safety. The students very effectively spoke about the safety rules. The road safety symbols were explained well. The Nukkad Natak on road safety emphasized on the use of helmet and seat belt while travelling on the road. The humour content of the Nukkad Natak sent peals of laughter running through the audience. An educative video on the same was shown to the students. The assembly was well presented and the students pledged to follow safety rules to make their lives secure and safe.

The students who participated in Spell Bee International Competition were felicitated today for their commendable results. Ishan Singh of Class III-C, Arsh Jain of class IV-B and Aayush Agarwal of class V-A won the School Topper Medal and Certificate.

Arsh Jain of class IV-B secured 1^st rank in NITSC-IV, 2017 All India level conducted by SmartEduDirectory.com in July-August, 2017.

The Way We Dress

India is known for its diversity all over the globe. Ethnic clothing is just one of the things that distinguish one part of India from the other. The traditional Indian attire has earned admirers from people from all over to organizations like UNESCO. The craftsmanship with which artisans create traditional dresses is really incredible.

To help the students root to the rich heritage , a Class Activity “The Way We Dress” was conducted on November 29, 2017 for the students of Class II. The students were divided in various groups. Each group reasearched about traditional costume of the region alloted to them (North, South, East, West and Central India). They pasted the photographs of the traditional costumes and wrote few lines about the same. The activity concluded with a public speaking  where each child spoke about their region. This exposure  was instrumental in creating awareness about diversity in our culture and how each one should respect the Indian Heritage.

Learning is a treasure and it is achieved through assiduousness and diligence. With the objective of giving an exposure to the budding learners in the field of drama and camera work Blue Bells Model School Sec-4 Gurugram organized an Interschool Theatre and Photography Competition, Click-o-Cast in the fond memory of Late Sri B.D. Gulati, the Founder Chairperson , Blue Bells Group of Schools for the students of classes VI-X under the aegis of GPSC. The competition aimed at honing the innate talent of young learners from various schools across Gurugram and NCR. The Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Madhu Azad, Mayor, Gurugram city. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academics, Development and Innovation -Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the august occasion. Abdul Samad Khan, the Cultural Secretary of the school welcomed the revered guests. The programme commenced with the enactment of Mark Antony’s famous speech at the cremation ground of Julius Caesar by Pratham of class X who enthralled the audience with his spectacular dramatic skills. It was followed by a mesmerizing dance rendition by the students showcasing William Shakespeare’s grandeur and magnificence. Ten reputed schools of Gurugram participated in the events. Each school staged a scene from the numerous plays written by William Shakespeare in the theatre competition ‘Stage-O-Rama’. The students of classes VI-VIII gave a splendid gallop to the audience into the Shakespearean era. The judges were theatre enthusiasts and English language professors of Delhi University Ms. Nidhi Bhandari, Ms.Tina Balachandran and Dr. Nandini Sen. The students of classes IX-X showcased their adroitness in Photography Competition, ‘Lensation’. The young photographers keenly joined in the four events ‘Point and Shoot: On the Spot Product Photography’, ‘Unleash the Flash: On the Spot Theme Photography’, ‘Click-a-Tory: Storyboard and ‘Zoom–In: Online Movie Making Competition’. The judges for Photography Competition were Mr. Manish Bhatia, an expert in the field of corporate photo shoot, portraits and photography, Mr. Bhavya Sharma, alumnus of Blue Bells Model School and Fashion Photographer and Mr. Sumit Bhardwaj, Director Light and Life. The day events concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony.  Salwan Public School won the Best Director and Best Play Award and the Overall Trophy was bagged by Blue Bells Public School. Ms. Madhu Azad appreciated and felicitated the students by giving away the prizes and certificates. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ananya Srivastava, the Literary Secretary of the school.

BOOK PARADE PRIMARY WING

“Write to be understood,

Speak to be heard

Read to grow.”

Books are packed with knowledge and they expose us to new information, ideas and also are a man’s best friends. To inculcate the habit of reading into the students, a book parade was organized for the students of Primary Wing today as part of the ISA activity. Interesting stories were selected for their presentation. The students presented the story of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, The Talkative Tortoise and The True Story of Milan.

The students enacted their part very articulately. Respected Principal, Ma’am Chandan Dhawan and Primary Wing Incharge, Ma’am Meenakshi Malhotra appreciated the efforts of the students.

The students who won the 2^nd Runner’s Up Trophy at the Interschool Competition at Lions Public School and Subhashish of Class III A who won the All India Open Speed Skating Championship with the silver medal were felicitated for their achievement.

SOCIAL OUTREACH AND HINDI CLUB PRESENTATION

The Social Outreach Club and Hindi Literary Club conducted the day's assembly on November 21, 2017. The students organized an Open Quiz for the audience wherein they asked questions based on Hindi Muhawaras, identifying writers and tongue twisters. Students participated with full zeal and answered all the questions that were put forth. A shabad rendition by Ayush Grover of Class VII C was a treat for the ears. This was followed by the Inter-class JAM Session which comprised of 12 students one student from each section. The students spoke on the given topics with confidence and fluency. The winners were - Shrestha Sharma of Class 6 B bagged the first position, Riya of Class 8 B bagged the second position and Manya Srivastava of Class 7 B bagged the third position.

Children’s Day in India is celebrated every year on 14^th of November as a tribute to Pt. Jawarhar Lal Nehru. This day being his birthday is also celebrated as Baal Diwas due to his love and fondness for children.

 A special assembly was planned by the teachers to make this day a memorable one. The highlights of the assembly were Aerobics, Song presentation and Rhythmic dance presentation performed by the teachers of Primary wing. The students appreciated the teachers with loud applause.                    

Principal Ma’am and Primary Wing In charge Ma’am addressed the students and motivated and urged them to be good citizens of tomorrow.

We believe in the wholesome development of not only students but also its staff as well as support staff. In accordance with the same philosophy, Annual Sports Meet for support staff was organized in the school's playground. The support staff of Blue Bells Model School and Blue Bells Preparatory School (Male and Female) participated in the same. There were various sports events like 100 m, 200m, passing the ring, volleyball and musical chair for females and 100 m, 200m hurdle race, Basket ball and cricket match for males. All participants enthusiastically participated and the program concluded with felicitations of the winners by Mrs. C Dhawan - the Principal. The energy and vibrance during the event was worth witnessing.

Blue Bells organized IT Fest-Cyber Maze 2017

At the heart of effective technology integration, technology offers opportunities to be more actively involved in the learning experience. Technology therefore, will continue to be an integral part and the driving force in workplaces, communities, educational institutions and personal lives. Technology can engage students in new experiences and create a community of learners across geographical boundaries. To achieve this objective, Blue Bells Model School,Sec-4  Gurgaon, under the able guidance and patronage of Ms. Anshuka Aneja, DeputyDirector IT,  Blue Bells Group of Schools organized Cyber Maze 2017, a mega Intra-school IT fest for the students of classes III-X from November 6 to November 8, 2017 to bring forth the dynamism and prolific face of technology in the hands of tech-savvy generation. The opening ceremony commenced with Saraswati Vandana. An informative  talk on technology was presented by school Cyber Wizard, Arsh Gupta. An introductory video was presented to the students to  have a glimpse of numerous activities to be conducted during the fest. A skit was staged depicting internet era by the students of Middle Wing. Ms Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school declared Cyber Maze 2017 open.

An array of interesting competitions related to Information Technology were designed for the students to exhibit their creativity and IT skills in the unfathomable world of technology. The students of Primary Wing participated in the events like Poster Designing on ‘Go Green’, Presentation Making on ‘My Dream Planet’ and Game Designing on ‘Educational Game’. The Middle Wing students proved their outstanding expertise by taking part in a gamut of  events like Advertisement Making on ‘IT Gadget’, Movie Making on ‘Zero Waste Management System’ and ‘Technology- A Backbone of Nation’, Wall Paper Designing on ‘Digitalization’ and Blog Designing on ‘Cyber Awareness’.

The closing ceremony witnessed a spellbinding dance by the students of Middle Wing. ‘Snapshots’-a video was shown to the students to have a peep into the several activity- rich venues. Mr. Rakshit Tandon, the renowned Cyber Security Expert and Director Executive- Council of Information Security was the Chief Guest of the event. He conducted two Cyber Awareness workshop for the classes VI-VIII and  IX, X and XI. Through demonstrations and illustrations he made students aware of cyber crime and perilous consequences one may face due to unawareness in the field of social networking. He emphasized the fact that ‘Technology has changed our lives but its appropriate and prudent usage is expected from the new generations of today. Mr. Tandon applauded the collective efforts of students and teachers in making the event a great accomplishment. Ms. Anshuka Aneja and Rakshit Tandon felicitated the winners of various events  by giving away the prizes and certificates. The eventful day concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Yashika Sachdeva, the school Headgirl.

Gurupurab

Students of Class V – C presented their Special Assembly on Gurupurab on November 3, 2017. The assembly began with a talk on the importance of the festival. To inculcate good moral values into the children, a power point presentation on the same was shown to them and each moral value was explained very well by a group of students.

Punctuality is a trait that must be developed since childhood as it is the key to success in every field of work. A short video on Punctuality was shown to the students to inspire them to do their work on time. This was followed by a peppy song ‘I can follow the rules’.

Students sang Shabad Gaan which was flawless and melodious. A video on the life of Guru Nanakji was also presented during the assembly.

As part of the CBSE programme, Vigilance Awareness week on the theme “My Vision-Corruption free India” was observed in the school from October 30, 2017to November 4, 2017. Students took the Integrity pledge and made cartoons on the theme “Corruption Free India.”

Students who brought laurels to the school by participating in Inter school competition at The Maurya School on September 2, 2017 were felicitated today. They bagged the 1^st Runners Up in the event ‘Nukkad Natak- Azaadi Kal aur Aaj’. Respected Principal, Ma’am Chandan Dhawan and Primary Wing Incharge, Ma’am Meenakshi Malhotra congratulated the students for their achievement. 

SAVE OZONE TO SAVE MANKIND & SCIENCE AND ECO CLUB PRESENTATION

Martin Luther very aptly stated, “Today our very existence depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change.”

We are aware of the increasing concern about corruption eroding the basic values of life. It has a negative effect not only on our social fabric but also threatens to slow down the progress and development of our nation. In order to commemorate the week the Science and Eco Club of the Middle Wing conducted an informative assembly. They spoke about the activities they had done during the year and their learning outcomes. They presented a skit that added awareness amongst the students on being vigilant about the impact of corruption on the environment. The students also made the whole school take a pledge on National Integrity.

An Inter-House PPT competition was also conducted on – “Save Ozone to Save Mankind”. The students expressed their views about the existence of Ozone with complete confidence and apprised the students how the harmful effects of pollutants used by humans are damaging the life giver - ozone. The presentations were made with a lot of consideration and supported the matter of the speakers. The results of the competition are as follows: Mother Teresa House – Winner, Indira Gandhi House – I Runners Up, Tagore House – II Runners Up, Nehru House – III Runners Up.
