ECO CLUB PRESENTATION

“We make the world we live in and shape our own environment.”

The only way forward to improve the quality of our environment is to get everyone involved. The students of the Eco Club of Primary Wing presented their assembly on the theme ‘Clean and Green Environment’ to sensitize all towards the growing need to save our environment.  The assembly began with a speech on the array of activities conducted by the members of the club.

A rendition of the song by the students was melodious and it encouraged the students to plant more trees. This was followed by a video to inspire the students to take necessary steps toward saving our Earth. A dance performance by the students was praise worthy.As part of the Human Rights Day activity, the students took a pledge to perform our duty well as responsible citizens.

Yash Gupta of class V B bagged II position in “Art Jamboree” , a Mural Art in an Interschool Competition held at DPS Sushant Lok.

Principal Ma’am, Chandan Dhawan and Primary Wing Incharge, Ma’am Meenakshi Malhotra, encouraged the students to participate in more and more such activities and appreciated the efforts of the students who performed well in them. 

Ganit Week

‘Mathematics expresses values that reflect the cosmos.’

Mathematics, as an expression of the human mind, reflects the active will, contemplative reason and the desire for aesthetic perfection. To enjoy and know more about Maths, Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4 Gurugram organized ‘Ganit Week- Math-E-Magician’ for the students of classes III to VIII from 12^th to 21^st December, 2017. A multitude of activities was organized for the students to develop interest in Maths and to enhance their analytical, critical and logical skills. A special assembly conducted by the Primary Wing marked the celebration of the week. The week witnessed students’ keen involvement in figuring out mathematical puzzles , participating in mathematical relay race ‘Math-Marathon’, ‘Number Antakshri’, ‘Sudoku’, fun games like ‘Even and Odd’, Treasure Hunt, Spinner Game, Car Racing, Bingo and Mobi Maths Facts Game. An intra-school event was organized in the Primary and Middle Wing in which a quiz was organised by NIIT. Mr. Rahul Goel, Assistant Manager and Academic Trainer and Akash Sharma, Subject Matter Expert from NIIT, Gurugram conducted the quiz. The students of classes III to V and VI to VIII zealously participated in the quiz by recording good score in several questionnaire sessions. The performance of the contestants was highly applauded. Students enthusiastically visited Maths Game Station ‘Math-E-Zania’ where they enjoyed the display of models and fun games. The closing ceremony commenced with a prayer song ‘Satchidanand’. The students watched a PPT on the contribution of great Mathematicians. A rap song based on Mathematics enthralled the audience. ‘Snapshots’-a video was shown to the students to have a peep into the several activity- rich venues. A scintillating group dance performance rapt the attention of the spectators. Mr. Rahul Goel appreciated the efforts of students by felicitating the winners of various classwise activities, Quiz and Drawing Competition. He addressed the students by stating that ‘One should take keen interest in Maths to comprehend the magic concealed in it’.  Mrs. Chandan Dhawan, Principal, Blue Bells Model School congratulated students as well as teachers for their commendable efforts. Vote of thanks was proposed by Aadya. The week-long activities indeed proved the fact that ‘Maths may not train how to add love or subtract hate but it undeniably gives a hope that every hitch has a solution.’

INTERNATIONAL LIFE SKILL SUMMIT , 2017 INTERNATIONAL ADOLESCENT SUMMIT 2017 ON LIFE SKILLS, VALUES, GENDER & SCHOOL WELLBEING

Health & Wellness education helps in creating a strong positive powered force of citizens who in the coming future will contribute effectively to the society. It facilitates character building and preserves the values of society. The Health & Wellness Programme of the school, initiated and mentored by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, has been incessantly working to empower the adolescents with knowledge, skills and values. In sync with the same mission, the students participated in various Competitions in THE INTERNATIONAL ADOLESCENT SUMMIT 2017 ON LIFE SKILLS, VALUES, GENDER & SCHOOL WELLBEING at India Islamic Cultural Center from December 11 to 13, 2017.  His Excellency, Shri. Pranab Mukerjee, former President of India graced the Opening Ceremony of the Summit as the Chief Guest.

The Health & Wellness team of the school prepared the students for different competitions of the Summit organized by Expressions India, a CBSE Empanelled Agency. The summit provided a dynamic platform to school students across India as well as abroad to ponder over as well as express themselves on various societal concerns.

 The school team comprising of the students Abdul Samad Khan of  XII E, Hardik & Viraj of IX A,  Priyanka of  IX B, Mansi of IX C and  Lavanya of IX D  participated in all the five events- Jingle Making, ‘Rhetorics’ –The Young Orators Championship, The Adolescents ‘Whiz Q’, ‘SurTaal’- Indian Classical or Western solo Dance, ‘Utopia- On the Spot Painting, ‘Rhapsody’- Create a Thematic Jingle, ‘Sur Sargam’- Inspirational Song. The competition was prestigious as more than 100 schools from India and abroad participated in the Summit. Our students had put in immense effort and hard work especially in creating jingles.The Poster made by Lavanya remarkably depicted the theme and was appreciated by all.

It was a moment of immense pleasure and pride when Abdul Samad Khan clinched The Meritorious Award in the event ‘Sur Sargam’- Inspirational song. Abduls enchanting voice made the audience spell bound.

Our students were felicitated with medals and certificates for an enthusiastic participation in all the events.

An informative and creative stall on “Handling Examination Stress- Distress to De-stress” was put up by the students as a part of Global Health Exhibition. Students had created book marks and finger puppets which were given as takeaways to each person visiting the stall. The stall was depicted beautifully and appreciated by all. The Management, Director, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS and Principal congratulated the Health & Wellness Team for this marvelous performance.

Genius hits a target, No one can see’

The Robotics Club of Primary Wing gave a wonderful presentation of their activities on the occasion of Computer Literacy Day. The highlights of the assembly were Robotics presentation, Cyber Quiz, Robo dance and a video.

The student members of the club of all the classes of Primary Wing displayed robots performing various activities. The Inter-House Cyber Quiz competition was conducted to take the young talents beyond the textual knowledge and test them on the basis of concepts learnt. The quiz consisted of five rounds. The results were as follows:

The students performed a vibrant Robo dance that was much appreciated. The assembly concluded with a short informative video, which projected the applications of ‘Robotics’ in various fields and the importance of Robotics in daily life.

The Principal, Ms. Chandan Dhawan congratulated the students and appreciated all for their efforts.

JOY OF LEARNING MATHEMATICS: FUN WITH NUMBERS SESSION AT

BLUE BELLS PUBLIC SCHOOL , SECTOR 10, GURUGRAM

Blue Bells Public School is recognized for its unique pedagogical practices and unique teaching methodologies which are CHILD CENTRIC. In sync with the same,  a session on  ‘Fun With Numbers ’ was organized for the parents of LKG  students on Saturday ,  December 2, 2017  ,  to showcase  the development of numeracy in  the students at a tender age.

Under the inspirational guidance of Madam Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director ( Academic Development and Innovation) , Blue Bells has  started ‘Back to School Series’. The session aimed to familiarize the parents with the same learning environment that their little one’s experience in school. A number of interactive & fun filled activities like Ice breaking Ping Pong game, Mystery Bag Activity, Train Activity , Crocodile Mouth Game for the concepts of greater than and smaller than,  pattern making, bingo and other games on numbers were played by the parents. A Number rhyme and song  by the teachers of class LKG explicitly demonstrated the skills which the students acquire through fun filled games.   

The session was interactive and Madam Soumya shared that different learning strategies are required during classroom transaction considering student’s individual needs, interests and abilities to make learning a fun.  Ma’am shared with the parents that similar type of sessions will be conducted in future also to encourage active learning through exploration, play and live experience. A Gallery Walk showcasing  the progression of the work done by their wards in the school with  the transdisciplinary approach wherein all the domains of learning are interwoven in the theme was organized  was heartily appreciated by all the parents.

The parents participated with great zeal and enthusiasm not only in the invigorating session but also the games organized by Edusports.

Blue Bellians Celebrate 38 Years of Their School’s Glorious Journey

Blue Bells Model School, Sector-4, Gurugram commemorated 38 years of its spectacular journey on November 30, 2017. A special assembly was organized to celebrate the auspicious occasion through a gamut of activities. Ms. Seema Pahuja, Councillor, Ward-15, Gurugram graced the occasion. The programme commenced with a shloka recital and melodious presentation of School Song. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school delivered a welcome speech eliciting the magnificent journey of the school from the day of its inception to its present glory. A group dance, ‘Matrix Energised’ enchanted all. Jahanvi of class IX acquainted the audience with the recent hallmark brilliant achievements of the students in various Inter-school Competitions. A speech on        ‘A Glimpse into Mission Blue Bells’ was delivered by Pearl Babbar of class IX highlighting the pride and delight of being a Bluebellian. A Street Play was presented by the senior students depicting how quality could be an investment for future. The group song ‘Parivartan hi Jeevan Hai’ captivated everyone’s attention. Shivangi Sharma of class XI recited a heart touching self-composed poem taking everyone on a ride to the memory lane of her school days. A spellbinding medley of modern and traditional Rajasthani dance form rapt the huge gathering. Ms. Seema Pahuja congratulated the students for putting up a splendid show and felicitated the achievers of recent Inter-school Competitions. Her key message to students was that they should inculcate the values of patience and be respectful towards teachers. She wished the school to grow to fineness and excellence in the realm of knowledge, culture and education.

ASSEMBLY on Road Safety

Think safe, Work safe, Be safe

Safety is of utmost importance in our life and learning about safety measures can lead to safer behaviours in later life. So to make the students aware of the safety and precautions we need to take while on the road, the students of class III B presented an assembly on Road Safety. The students very effectively spoke about the safety rules. The road safety symbols were explained well. The Nukkad Natak on road safety emphasized on the use of helmet and seat belt while travelling on the road. The humour content of the Nukkad Natak sent peals of laughter running through the audience. An educative video on the same was shown to the students. The assembly was well presented and the students pledged to follow safety rules to make their lives secure and safe.

The students who participated in Spell Bee International Competition were felicitated today for their commendable results. Ishan Singh of Class III-C, Arsh Jain of class IV-B and Aayush Agarwal of class V-A won the School Topper Medal and Certificate.

Arsh Jain of class IV-B secured 1^st rank in NITSC-IV, 2017 All India level conducted by SmartEduDirectory.com in July-August, 2017.

The Way We Dress

India is known for its diversity all over the globe. Ethnic clothing is just one of the things that distinguish one part of India from the other. The traditional Indian attire has earned admirers from people from all over to organizations like UNESCO. The craftsmanship with which artisans create traditional dresses is really incredible.

To help the students root to the rich heritage , a Class Activity “The Way We Dress” was conducted on November 29, 2017 for the students of Class II. The students were divided in various groups. Each group reasearched about traditional costume of the region alloted to them (North, South, East, West and Central India). They pasted the photographs of the traditional costumes and wrote few lines about the same. The activity concluded with a public speaking  where each child spoke about their region. This exposure  was instrumental in creating awareness about diversity in our culture and how each one should respect the Indian Heritage.

‘Great art is the outward expression of one’s talent and aptitude.’

Learning is a treasure and it is achieved through assiduousness and diligence. With the objective of giving an exposure to the budding learners in the field of drama and camera work Blue Bells Model School Sec-4 Gurugram organized an Interschool Theatre and Photography Competition, Click-o-Cast in the fond memory of Late Sri B.D. Gulati, the Founder Chairperson , Blue Bells Group of Schools for the students of classes VI-X under the aegis of GPSC. The competition aimed at honing the innate talent of young learners from various schools across Gurugram and NCR. The Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Madhu Azad, Mayor, Gurugram city. Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director, Academics, Development and Innovation -Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the august occasion. Abdul Samad Khan, the Cultural Secretary of the school welcomed the revered guests. The programme commenced with the enactment of Mark Antony’s famous speech at the cremation ground of Julius Caesar by Pratham of class X who enthralled the audience with his spectacular dramatic skills. It was followed by a mesmerizing dance rendition by the students showcasing William Shakespeare’s grandeur and magnificence. Ten reputed schools of Gurugram participated in the events. Each school staged a scene from the numerous plays written by William Shakespeare in the theatre competition ‘Stage-O-Rama’. The students of classes VI-VIII gave a splendid gallop to the audience into the Shakespearean era. The judges were theatre enthusiasts and English language professors of Delhi University Ms. Nidhi Bhandari, Ms.Tina Balachandran and Dr. Nandini Sen. The students of classes IX-X showcased their adroitness in Photography Competition, ‘Lensation’. The young photographers keenly joined in the four events ‘Point and Shoot: On the Spot Product Photography’, ‘Unleash the Flash: On the Spot Theme Photography’, ‘Click-a-Tory: Storyboard and ‘Zoom–In: Online Movie Making Competition’. The judges for Photography Competition were Mr. Manish Bhatia, an expert in the field of corporate photo shoot, portraits and photography, Mr. Bhavya Sharma, alumnus of Blue Bells Model School and Fashion Photographer and Mr. Sumit Bhardwaj, Director Light and Life. The day events concluded with the Prize Distribution Ceremony.  Salwan Public School won the Best Director and Best Play Award and the Overall Trophy was bagged by Blue Bells Public School. Ms. Madhu Azad appreciated and felicitated the students by giving away the prizes and certificates. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ananya Srivastava, the Literary Secretary of the school.

BOOK PARADE PRIMARY WING

Books are packed with knowledge and they expose us to new information, ideas and also are a man’s best friends. To inculcate the habit of reading into the students, a book parade was organized for the students of Primary Wing today as part of the ISA activity. Interesting stories were selected for their presentation. The students presented the story of Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, The Talkative Tortoise and The True Story of Milan.

The students enacted their part very articulately. Respected Principal, Ma’am Chandan Dhawan and Primary Wing Incharge, Ma’am Meenakshi Malhotra appreciated the efforts of the students.

The students who won the 2^nd Runner’s Up Trophy at the Interschool Competition at Lions Public School and Subhashish of Class III A who won the All India Open Speed Skating Championship with the silver medal were felicitated for their achievement.
