The Love of Nature- Monsoon

The students of class V-C of the Primary wing conducted their assembly based on the theme- Monsoon. A Power Point presentation shown made us understand the precautions to be taken and how to stay healthy during this season. The dance presentation by the class made every student present in the J. D. Hall dance to the tune. It was an informative assembly.

Metamorphosis 2016

Every phase of life is matchless, unique and exclusive. Life is full of hurdles and opportunities, hardship and triumphs. The focus is on developing young peoples skills that promote social and emotional learning which is the basis of any good learning program where students go through in acquiring skills to recognize and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, appreciate the perspectives of others, establish and maintain positive relationships, make responsible decisions and handle interpersonal situations effectively.
Each one takes birth every moment, each day is a new dawn and each phase is a real transmutation unfolding a new life. Children need to be proactive and equipped with all life skills to face and cope with the world. This objective is achieved through preparation, proper guidance and following the right course in life.
     With this thought, Health and Wellness team of Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon  organized Metamorphosis-Health and Wellness Programme Week 2016 from August 1, 2016 to August 4, 2016. The programme was conducted in two phases- Inter- school and Intra- school competitions. The week-long programme was conceived and nurtured by Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools with her team of school counsellors and teachers. The aim of the fiesta was to give students a platform to demonstrate determination, explore new ideas and figure out the fact that one needs to face challenges in life and make oneself well-trained to fight against all odds and lead their life rationally and prudently. The event was inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by chief guest Prof. Satish Kalra, a professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Development, GLIM, Gurgaon. Dr. Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools was the Guest of Honour. She graced the august occasion by her benign presence. They were accompanied by the jury members Mr. Mohan Kant, an actor and artist, Mr. Pardeep Narula, the Editor in Chief Navabharat Times and Mr. Harsh Kumar, a theatre artist.
     Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school extended a hearty welcome to the the dignitaries, student representatives and teachers of various schools across Gurgaon. Dr. Saxena remarked on empowering students by providing them training in life skills to make them well-equipped with the challenges of life. Subhag Gupta, Health and Wellness Ambassador and Yashika Sachdeva, the Peer Mentor highlighted the working areas and achievements of Health and Wellness team through a PowerPoint Presentation. The celebration started with Shiv Vandana creating a pious ambience for the event. The chief guest addressed the audience and stated that age is just a number and one should enjoy each phase and enrich life with experiential learning. Thereafter Dr. Saxena declared the competition open. Day one and two witnessed inter-school competitions like Poster Making, Street Play, Debate and Critical Thinking for classes VI-VIII and IX -XII. The competitions were based on various themes related to life skills like The World Around Me, World of Emotions, Health and Wellness, Safety Comes First, Empathy, Peer Pressure, Anti Bullying, Impact of Media Swachh Bharat, Effective Communication, Substance Abuse, Environment Safety, Evils that surround my Social and Gender Equality.
      Dr. Saxena and her team of counsellors conducted a workshop on Understanding Adolescence, Parenting Style and Its Impact on Adolescents for the GPSC school teachers. The workshop was conducted in two sessions wherein Dr. Saxena threw light on dilemmas of adolescent, their behavioural change, and most importantly the experiential journey through adolescence. She stressed on the role of parents who act as a catalyst in handling this age group children. She further spoke on different parenting styles and its impact on the adolescents. The session concluded by involving the invitees in hands on activities. The second phase of Metamorphosis involved the students of Primary Wing of the school. A myriad of intra-school competitions were carried out for classes III-V like Card Making, Book Mark, Critical Thinking, Ad Mad and Fun Races. The fun –filled competitions were based on the themes My Life- My Style, Values of Life, Mind Your words, Emotions, Healthy Meals- Healthy Life, Be Germs Free, The 3 Rs for Environment, Be Safe-follow the road rules etc. Students showed their competitive spirit and zealous attitude in their participation.
     The curtain of the first phase was drawn on August 2, 2016. The glimpses of the two days activities were presented through a Power Point Presentation.  The session was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. The winners of various events were felicitated by Chief Guest, Sri Mahesh Chandra, the Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Dr. Alka Saxena congratulated the participants and lauded their outstanding performance in various activities. The plethora of activities wrapped with beaming zest and keen involvement of the students made the event turn out to be a great success.

FATHERS DAY CELEBRATION

A father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.
Kites fly highest against the winds, not with it. This message stirs a lot of positivity in anyone who comes across the saying. Fathers are special and to make them commemorate the day to the fullest the school structured a Kite Flying Activity for them. Fathers were convoyed with their wards to support them in flying the kites. The fathers went down the memory lane of the good old childhood days while attempting to fly the kites. It was a sight worth capturing to see the colourful kites sailing up high in the sky and a spirit of competition being infused amongst the participants. A few fun games were also conducted for them to relax and dwell in the sportsmanship. Apart from it the fathers were also asked to draw their imagination using colours on the hard board. The students recited self-composed poems for fathers.

Orientation for class XI

                                  
Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon organized an orientation programme on July 9,2016 for the parents of Class XI students. The august gathering was welcomed by Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school. She apprised the parents with the X and XII board result and students outstanding rank in IIT and other entrance exams. The programme commenced on a spiritual note with diya lighting and shloka recitation followed by a song presentation by the students. The parents were acquainted with the school curriculum. A role play was dramatized by the students highlighting the wrong practice of tuition and the forceful imposition of career options by the parents on their children. The parents were acquainted with the examination system and different streams offered in classes XI and XII by the Senior Wing In-charge, Ms. M.Aruna. Mrs. Kiran Yadav, Activity Coordinator, emphasized on school discipline and its relevance in developing good habits. The parents were made aware of all the activities conducted by The Health and Wellness Team under the able guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director, Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. The Mascot AWBY of the Health and Wellness team was introduced laying out the ideology of the team. Parents were further familiarised with the Peer Educator Programme, workshop and training modules for teachers and parents on life skills education and gender sensitivity. Ms. Mini Vasudeva proposed the vote of thanks.

Investiture Ceremony

Leadership is not about titles and positions but it is about one life influencing another.

Great leaders dont set out to be a leader--they set out to make a difference. A true leader has the confidence and courage to make tough decisions and compassion to listen to the needs of others. Blue Bells Model School Sec.4, Gurgaon, organized the Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2016-2017 by conducting a special assembly on May16, 2016. The ceremony was organised to entrust the duties and responsibilities to newly appointed council members in order to involve them in day-today functioning of the school. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and delight. It was initiated with the school prayer, pledge and school song. The newly appointed Head boy, Shrey Garg and Head Girl, Saloni Chhabra expressed their willingness to shoulder their duties with sincerity and diligence. Subhag Gupta was appointed as Health and Wellness Ambassador and Yashika Sachdeva took the responsibility of Peer Mentorship. The other elected student council which included Sports Captain, Literary Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Fine Art Secretary, Science Wizard, Maths Wizard, Design and Computer Wizard, 4 House Captains, Peer Educators took an oath to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school addressed the gathering and extended her heartiest congratulations to all the position holders. She spoke on the importance of leadership. She rightly quoted, If  your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then you are a leader. The ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem.

Investiture ceremony of Primary wing

The investiture ceremony of Primary wing for the session 2016-17 was held in the special assembly. The ceremony was organised to authorize the duties and responsibilities of the newly elected council members. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and delight. The ceremony was initiated by a school prayer, school song and pledge by students and council members. The newly appointed Head Boy Jatin Chutani, Head Girl Krisha Gupta promised to shoulder their duties and responsibilities diligently. The other elected members included Cultural secretary (Tanishi Chauhan), Literary club secretary (Arushi Chandak), Sports captain (Kaushal Yadav), Computer Wizard (Arnav Goel), house captains, one vice captain and six prefects. The undersigned congratulated the council members and honoured them with badges. She motivated the students and reminded them of their duties. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Mothers Day

                                                     
The purest and truest meaning of the term unconditional can only be found in a mothers love.
A mothers love for her child is like nothing else in the world.  It knows no law, no pity--it dares all things and crushes down unrelentingly all that stands in its path. Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving mother is the supreme of them all. The bond between the mother and her child is one defined by love and purity. Mother is an embodiment of compassion, care, sacrifice, perseverance and valor. To honour this pious soul and mark her greatness, Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon commemorated Mothers day on May7, 2016.Dr.Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the occasion by her benign presence.The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the sacred lamp with the accompaniment of shloka recital. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school, addressed the gathering and congratulated all the mothers for their untiring efforts and contribution in bringing up their children. She highlighted the fact that mothers hold the supreme place and they are to be valued and revered. A beautiful melodious song Iss Jag Ka Vardaan Hai Tu… lent a perfect ambience for the sanctimonious occasion. A gripping mime show on the theme Mothers Tireless Dedication in raising and caring for her Children was presented by the students. A well-synchronized splendid group dance enchanted the special guests. An English group song Mother of Mine, You Gave Me…. captivated the audience attention and won a roaring applause. The cultural show was followed by an array of exciting activities designed for the mothers. The mothers enjoyed and wholeheartedly participated in Sew Sweet, Salad Art on the theme Vatsalya, e-Poster Designing, Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step up for Gender Equality and Dress with Mess. Dr. Suman Gulati felicitated all the event winners with a token of  honour and respect. She addressed the mothers and pleaded them to provide emotional support to their wards in every phase of their life. Through the celebration, Blue Bells reaffirmed the fact that motherhood is a difficult task but invariably rewarding. The event ended with the presentation of vote of thanks by Ms. Kiran Yadav.  

LABOURS DAY

Genius begin great work; labour alone finishes them
It is only through labour and honest efforts, by grim energy and resolute courage that one move on to better things. All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with conscientious excellence. To appreciate the contribution of workforce, the students of Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon commemorated Labours Day on May2, 2016. Primary Wing students made beautiful greeting cards to express their gratitude and heartfelt wishes for the support staff. They showed their love and concern for them by writing beautiful heart-touching quotations on their cards. The school organised interesting fun-filled games for the support staff which included 100 and 200mtr sprint, 100mtr hurdle race, skipping race, musical chair, handball and cricket match. Few members of the support staff showcased their talent by singing songs and bhajans. Dr. Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools extended her earnest gratitude to all the support staff of the school and enlightened them with her thoughts on working in unison at all levels. She felicitated the winners of various sports events by giving away the prizes. She addressed them by saying that it is labour indeed who puts the difference on everything by their untiring and wholehearted contribution for the school.

A dream doesnt become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination dedication, self-discipline and hard work. Blue Bellians of Blue Bells Model School, Gurgaon believe this and invariably prove their mettle and acumen in every sphere. The institution too provides a platform and congenial atmosphere to nurture its genius and giving them the well deserved recognition. A Prize Distribution Ceremony was organised on April 30,2016 to felicitate the academic achievers as well as the awardees for regularity and punctuality  of classes VI-XI of the session 2015-16. Dr.Suman Gulati, Director Blue Bells Group of Schools graced the ocassion by her benign presence. The august event commenced with a spiritual note by lighting the ceremonial lamp with the accompaniment of shloka recital. The welcome speech was delivered by Ms.Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school. She congratulated the prize winners and motivated them by stating to accept the challenges so that they can feel the exhilaration of victory. A melodious group song Geet Gate Chalo… was sung by the students lending a sanctimonious feeling to the ambience. The group dance Umaang all the more enlivened the whole atmosphere. The school magazine Admirable Archives session 2015-16 was released by the Director of the school and it was indeed a proud moment for the students, teachers and parents. Dr. Suman Gulati congratulated and felicitated the achievers by honouring them with prizes. She addressed the gathering and stated that accomplishment comes through action and belief in oneself. She rightly quoted The best preparation for tomorrow is doing our best today.
