Earth Day and English Language Day

Words are the leaves of the tree of language,
If some fall away, a new succession takes its place.
Keeping in mind the Earth Day and English Language Day few activities were conducted in the Primary Wing. The students participated in the Junk creative-creating something productive with scrap. The student made the best use of waste materials like waste cloth, papers, straws, ice-cream sticks and a lot of other waste products available.
The Spell –Studio  an Inter house quiz was conducted to help the students to enhance their word power and vocabulary. There were four teams and each team had three children from classes III-V. The quiz had four rounds.  Nehru House won the first position and in the second position went to  Mother Teresa house.  The Principal appreciated the students for their performance in the Spell-Studio.

Transition

Journey of life is transition
You leave one chapter behind while moving to the next.

The students of class VI stepped into the middle school. They started gearing up to face new academic challenges and accept their phenomenal transition.  The Primary Wing In charge ,Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra, inspired the students to move ahead with  belief in their heart. The Middle Wing In charge, Ms. Anshu Mallika Kumar, welcomed the students and guided them to come forward and accept opportunities that come their way with great zeal and enthusiasm.
There comes a day when you realize turning the page is the best feeling in the world, because  there is so much more to book than the page you were stuck on.
The counsellor, Ms. Ritika Logani briefed the students about the Health and Wellness programme of the school.
The students were also apprised about the CCE pattern by Ms. Sapna Sinha who not only told them about the various bifurcations but also encouraged them to attainbetter grades by keeping oneself updated from time to time.

The students had an interactive session with Dr. Alka Saxena , Assistant Director, Health and Wellness, Blue Bells Group of Schools. Ma’am encouraged the students to move ahead with positivity and welcome all the new opportunities and challenges that come their way.

She welcomed all the students of class 6th to the middle wing. She apprised them of some of the challenges they are likely to face and  motivated them to overcome. She spoke to them about how all emotions are normal and natural. She encouraged them to cope with their emotions effectively. She also informed them of the entire support system of Teachers, Primary and Middle Wing In-Charges and counselors who will help them adjust and adapt to their new environment. She encouraged them to  freely share their feelings  during the session.. Students also shared some of their concerns   and excitement of becoming part of the Middle Wing.

World Health Day

It is health that is real wealth And not pieces of Gold and silver

There is nothing in life that is more valuable than good health. Without health there is no happiness, no peace and no success. However, junk food seems to satisfy the hunger pangs of the youngsters specially. To bring health awareness amongst the students , Blue Bells model school commemorated World Health Day on April 7th 2016 by conducting a special assembly. An array of activities were carried out for primary, middle and senior wing to celebrate the day. Krisha of class V D spoke on the importance of healthy food and a short video was shown on the same. Namjas of class VIII delivered a talk on Good Eating Habits highlighting the importance of choosing the right food for staying healthy. Himanshu and Gauri of class XII spoke on the ill-effects of diabetes. An inspiring thought was delivered by Arindam  while Pearl and Namrata of class VIII recited a  self-composed humorous poem Junk Food- Modern Vampire eliciting the harm and damage that unhealthy food causes. The students of class III were involved in in preparing a collage on World Health Day Dr. Alka Saxena, Asst. Director Health and Wellness, Blue Bells group of Schools addressed the students by stating the importance of balanced diet. She stressed on the detrimental effects of diabetes. The students were also made aware of all the sincere efforts taken by the Health and Wellness Team under the able guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena. “AWBY”-  The Awesome Buddy, the  Mascot of Health and Wellness Program , was introduced by Dr. Alka Saxena. The Mascot showcased the ideology of the team which believes that every child is meant to blossom .The mascot , a penguin with a graduation hat, racquet, magnifying glass and a smile presented a promising face of todays  youth, well equipped with all skills. Ms.Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school addressed the students and rightly stated that the person who has health has hope and one who has hope, has everything.

World Health Day provides an opportunity for the world community to come together for one day and focus on actions that can improve our health. To mark the importance of this day Primary wing students had a special assembly which focused on the importance of healthy food. With prayers we begin…
The new session began with a positive and happy note where the Primary Wing welcomed the students of class III with Tilak ceremony followed by Havan Vidhi to seek the blessings of the almighty. All the Wing Incharges along with the primary teachers were present for the Vidhi. There were 150 students who joined the auspicious ceremony. After that they were taken to their respective classes by their class teachers. The teachers introduced themselves to the students and the students also gave their introduction. In the recess the students were offered Prasad. They were involved in various activities throughout the day and were happy to be in Blue Bells Model School.

Orientation 2016

A beginning is a wonderful blessing
It stands for hope
giving us another start of what we call life
Orientation signifies beginning of a new venture, new hope and new aspirations. The Primary Wing of Blue Bells Model School conducted their Orientation for the parents of classes III, IV and V on 26th March ,2016.
 The August gathering was welcomed by our respected Principal Madam Chandan Dhawan who also apprised the parents with the vision and mission of the school  . Our school visionaries and our guiding force -the Management, were also introduced by her.
The Primary Wing In charge Ms. Meenakshi Malhotra acquainted the parents with the achievements of our students. The teaching   team of the Primary Wing was also introduced. She gave assurance that students will be provided proper help and support as they are going to enter the premises and are under the wings of able teachers.
Under the motivation and guidance of Assistant Director-Academic Development & Innovation, Madam Soumya Gulati , BBGS has come up with the Learning space –The Learning  & development Centre. The parents were familiarized with the pedagogy adopted by the school to bring innovative practices in order to enhance the teaching learning process. The parents appreciated the display of learning progression in classes III -v .
 Integrated learning was showcased through the enactment of a play by the students of Primary Wing on the theme- EAT HEALTHY STAY HEALTHY which depicted the nutritive values of veggies and fruits through musicial rhymes . The play also highlighted food waste management and showed how NGOs provide  leftover food to the less privilege children of the society. Its objective was to inculcate values like self awareness, critical thinking, analyzing and enhancing interpersonal skills. The in house recording of the complete play was done by the students themselves. The play was highly appreciated by the parents. The students enacted with confidence and their social message stirred the feeling of responsibility towards healthy food consumption amongst parents.

Middle Wing orientation program for the parents of class VI to X was organized on 2nd April 2016. The august gathering was welcomed by Ms. Chandan Dhawan Principal of the school. The parents were apprised about the school curriculum. The theme of the programme was ICT in Teaching learning@Thinkers of Today. The program was designed to acquaint parents with the teaching and evaluation patterns, clubs, life skills training and code and conduct for the students. Each and every subject was taken up separately for a better insight in the teaching methodology. The impact of ICT in the teaching – learning pedagogy for every subject which proved to be highly beneficial and advantageous for the young learners was emphasized. Through a talk show presented by the students, parents were given a clear picture as how technologically equipped classroom cater to the students learning. Parents were apprised with the fact that the schools pivotal focus is to achieve the progression in students learning skills from low order thinking skill to high order thinking skills. They were acquainted with the teaching techniques in THOTS classes where students multifaceted aptitudes are honed. The session ended with parents-teachers interaction wherein parents queries were well attended by the  faculty members. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms.Kiran Yadav.

During both the orientation programs, the parents were also made aware of all the sincere efforts taken by The Health and Wellness team under the able guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Assistant Director,  Health and Wellness  Blue Bells Group of Schools.  The team focuses on developing the child holistically including the cognitive, social, intellectual, emotional and ethical aspects.
 The health and wellness team believes that “a child who is able to understand and manage his or her emotions will not only obtain better academic results, but will be better prepared for a successful life.  .

During the middle wing orientation program a talk show was conducted wherein all the subjects were interwoven and integrated. The talk show enhanced students critical thinking, creative thinking and effective communication skills. Most of the subject specific activities taken up by the teachers were designed keeping in mind the various values and life skills.

“In todays world it is very important to sensitize children towards recognizing their own strength and weaknesses and to manage their emotions”. Keeping this thought in mind THE  ISLAND OF EMOTIONS was created and a corner was dedicated to the same. This corner was the highlight of both the orientation programmes and was appreciated well by one and all present.

Concordia-A journey towards World Peace

To become a true global citizen, one must abandon all notions of otherness and instead embrace togetherness. The world is no longer white, black, yellow and brown. Through love and unity we can intermix colors to reveal a new rainbow world. To cultivate in the youth this feeling of belongingness and humanity that binds human race together Blue Bells Model School, Sec-4, Gurgaon celebrated Concordia-A journey towards World Peace----the Annual Day cum Prize Distribution Ceremony on March 20, 2016. Shri Mahesh Chandra, Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools, was the Chief Guest of the mega event. Mr. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman, Blue Bells Group of Schools, was the Guest of honour. The occasion was graced by the benign presence of Dr.Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools, members of managing committee and other dignitaries.

The rendition of instruments The Symphonious Melody created a perfect ambience to step ahead with the days cultural extravaganza. The gala event commenced on a ceremonial note with the Chief Guest lighting the diya. The school premises reverberated with the pious chanting of shlokas. Ms Chandan Dhawan, Principal- Blue Bells Model School accorded a hearty welcome to the Chief Guest and other venerated guests. The schools brilliant achievements in the journey of success were highlighted through the Annual Report Steering towards the Zenith by Radhika Sharma, the School Ambassador, Deep Sengupta, the Peer Mentor and Nandini of class XII. The Chief Guest was honoured with a token of reverence and gratitude by Mr.Ashish Gulati. The meritorious achievers in Academics of class XII, session 2014-15 were felicitated by the Chief Guest. Sri Mahesh Chandra congratulated the achievers for their diligence and hard work. He appreciated the well-chosen theme as this would instill a feeling of unity and brotherhood amongst the students. He further stated that the day the power of love overpowers the love of power, the world would know Peace.

The school, distinguished guests and all the invitees paid their homage to Shri B.D.Gulati, founder Chairperson of Blue Bells Group of Schools who departed for his heavenly abode on 27th November, 2015. A PowerPoint presentation Gratitude-A golden Virtue was rolled on to show the prolific journey of the true karmoyogi who dedicated his life to envision a society with rich culture and enlightened generation.

The grand thematic presentation Concordia showcased the cosmogonic history of how the earth evolved through various phases of order, anarchy and catastrophe and eventually led the inhabitants towards the supreme realization that peace and harmony is the only hope, the redeemer of mankind. The sequence of UNESCO summit was staged to project the unique culture of each country and conveyed explicitly the ethnicity and tradition of each nation. The enactment of the dance drama with theatrical depiction, scintillating ballet of various dance forms and melodious songs enthralled and captivated the audience. The ground of Blue Bells echoed with thunderous applause and ovation. The play indeed spread the message that it is not important to win a war but it is more important to bring peace and make life worth living. The eventful day ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anshu Malika Kumar.

Gurgaon Artists Fest

Municipal Corporation Gurgaon and Gurgaon Action Plan organized the Gurgaon Artists Fest from the 1st -7th March. The students and teachers of Blue Bells Model School Sec-4,Gurgaon  as sincere and responsible citizens of the millennium city, displayed exquisite artwork in front of metro pillar No. 72 opposite Grand Mall, M.G. Road to promote and establish  a ‘Green Gurgaon’. The art department with Mr. Parmanand  Chaudhury, Mr. Bharat Bhushan, Mr. Krishan, Ms. Rachana and students- Kanika Sanon,Vidhi Malhotra, Rachna Bhagat, IshaanTaneja, Ashita and Anjali used the strokes of ingenuity and presented a hue of passion and art which was worth commendable and laudable.

Schooldays are the happiest and golden days in the whole span of human life. Recollecting memories of school days is a way of holding onto the things one loves and never to lose them. It’s a difficult moment when one leaves the school premises and usher into a whole new world to pursue higher education. To make this journey more cherishing, the students of class XI of Blue Bells Model School, Sec 4, Gurgaon hosted a farewell function ‘Adios Amigos’ for the students of class XII. The day started with great excitement and merriment with an array of beautiful items to entertain the out-going students. Melodious songs, musical band, one-act play on the theme ‘School Life’, fun-filled games, PPT show ‘Blessings and Messages from Teachers’ indeed enlivened the whole atmosphere and added life to the party. Titles were conferred to XII class students. A ‘Talent Hunt’ session was also conducted for them. Radhika Sharma was crowned as Ms. Blue Bells and Umang Pathak as Mr. Blue Bells. Ms. Chandan Dhawan Principal of the school wished the outgoing students success in their life and appreciated the efforts of organizing team to make the event worth cherishing.

Republic Day Celebration

With  freedom in mind, faith in our heart, memories in our souls, lets salute the Nation on Republic Day
India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech and the mother of history, legend and tradition. Indias constitution came into being on 26 January 1950- an event that completed the countrys long-sought transition toward becoming an independent republic nation. Blue Bells Model School, Sector-4, Gurgaon celebrated 67th Republic Day to mark the iconic moment with great pomp and show. Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school greeted the Chief Guest Sri. Ashish Gulati, Vice Chairman of Blue Bells Group of Schools and addressed the gathering and stated that all Indians should remember the golden heritage of the country and feel proud to be a part of ever shining India. The august occasion was graced by Ms. Soumya Gulati, Asst. Director, Academic Development and Innovation. The Chief Guest hoisted the national flag with a fervour of patriotism in his heart. The students marched smartly past the podium and saluted the Chief Guest. It was then followed by a cultural programme which commenced with the group song Hum Kare Rashtra Aradhan.                                                                              A Hindi self-composed poem was recited by Meenal Jain and Palak Singla of class VI.A speech was delivered by Subhag Gupta and Nandini Sharma of standard XI                   highlighting the importance of the day. Primary Wing students lent a spectacular sight by showcasing a perfectly synchronized aerobic steps, yoga postures and dumble exercises. Middle Wing students enthralled everyone through their stunning and brilliant performance in Pyramid Formation on the beats of music. The school organized races for the Primary Wing where students enthusiastically participated in Flat and Relay races. The children from Savera took part in the celebration by presenting a mesmerizing dance on the song Hum Sitare Hain. The Chief Guest addressed the audience by stating that we should promise our motherland that we would do everything to enrich and preserve our heritage, our ethos and our treasure. He congratulated the students for making the day special and memorable with their sincere efforts, devotion and commitment.

Car Free Day

Blue Bells Initiative-A "Car Free Day" Such a beautiful world God gave to us, With its sunshine, its trees and flowers; And fleecy white clouds and the skies of blue, Its rainbows and April showers! Such a beautiful world, a gift so rare, Let us save it with love and care. The seeds of all social awareness are sown during school life and parents and teachers are the most prominent role models who can instill the the right values in the children. To ensure that the children get a pure environment and in an attempt to reduce the pollution level and traffic congestion in the city, Blue Bells Model school, Gurgoan took an initiative to urge and motivate parents to opt for car pooling. The staff members of the school united together for the great cause ‘Car Free Day’ and on Wednesday came to school either in school bus or availed public transport. Few zealous teachers even reached the school early in the morning riding bicycle. Dr. Suman Gulati, Director of Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Chandan Dhawan, Principal of the school congratulated the staff members for their earnest efforts to make a better environment for everyone. ‘Let’s work together for a safe Earth before it’s too late.’ Pollution is poisoning our environment in every form. We the inhabitants of Earth need to recognize that the Mother Earth too has the right to live in a pollution free environment.
