Refresher
Awareness Workshop on Plastic Waste Management
Blue Bells
Model School, Sector 4, Gurugram, organised a Refresher Awareness Workshop
on Plastic Waste Management on 3 November 2026, in collaboration with IPCA
under the D.R.O.P. Project (Develop Responsible Outlook for Plastic).
The workshop
aimed to sensitise students to the harmful effects of plastic waste and promote
responsible waste management practices. The programme commenced with the
inauguration of the D.R.O.P. Project by the school Principal, Ms. Alka Singh,
in the presence of Ms. Jyotsana Makan. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram
generously handed over recycled benches to the school as part of this
initiative.
The
Principal addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of
environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. This was followed by an
insightful and informative session conducted by Ms. Jyotsana Makan, who
sensitised students about effective plastic waste management.
A
significant highlight was the installation of recycled benches on the school
campus. Each bench has been created by recycling approximately 90 kg of
plastic, reflecting the power of recycling and collective environmental
action.
The workshop
concluded with a pledge to adopt responsible practices and contribute towards a
cleaner, greener and more sustainable future. The initiative reinforced the
belief that every small step counts in protecting our planet.
