EXCURSION TO MANGOLI : EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING IN THE LAP OF NATURE
“Reading
about nature is fine, but if a person walks in the woods and listens carefully,
he can learn more than what is in books, for they speak with the voice of God.”
A trip to Mangoli, Pahadi Vibes, organized by Blue Bells Model School for the
students of classes VI – VII from December1 to December 3, 2019 with an idea to
create a unique combination of fun and learning. It was a successful attempt to
sensitize Blue Bellians towards nature and to re-create their accord with the
cosmos. The scintillating beauty of the camp, the melodious sound of the
chirping birds, and relaxing natural tents left the students speechless. All
were astonished by the serene sunrise and sunset view in the laps of mountain
and also enjoyed trekking while appreciating the scenic natural beauty. Students
enjoyed various low rope adventure activities followed by Abseiling, Valley
traverse and Tree Jumaring. They were apprised about safety rules to be
followed. Team building games and activities like Magi Making Competition and
Bone Fire dance with Music and Lights
added to their delight . To enhance their understanding, a discussion
was initiated highlighting the importance of keeping the environment clean and
green. The students gave strokes to their experience as well as expressed the
same in their own words. They enjoyed amongst themselves, shared and relished
the snacks and sumptuous meal, and had a great time together.
Overall, the trip was an opportunity for the
students to know more about their surroundings and importance of nature. The trip was a riveting experience for everyone.
