REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
‘With freedom in the mind and pride in the soul, let
us all salute our nation’
Blue
Bells Model School, Gurugram, commemorated the 71st Republic Day by
organizing a cultural fiesta along with the Annual Sports Meet ‘Athletasia’ on January 25, 2020. Dr. Saroj
Suman Gulati, Director BBGS graced as
the honoured guest. Ms. Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director , Academic Development
and Innovations, BBGS blessed all with her radiant presence. The day’s
programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Director.
March Past by different houses and NCC cadets lent a magnificent sight and the
director took the salute. The oath was taken by March Past Platoons including
NCC cadets highlighting the significance of the Republic Day along with the
importance of games and sports. ‘Rang Tarang’-an instrumental medley, folk fusion
dance, yoga, aerobics and a rhythmical band rendition filled the ambience with
the feeling of patriotism and nationalism.
The
torch ceremony enhanced the spirit of the day’s celebration symbolizing harmony
and peace. The Annual Sports Meet was then officially declared open by the
Director of the school. The students participated and exhibited their zeal and
passion in various sports events like 100m and 200m Race, Balloon Relay, Burst the Balloon Race ,Banana Race,
Drag the Ball with Hula Hoop, 4x100m Relay, Sack Race and Racket Ball
Balancing. The
special attraction of Athletasia was the keen participation by the parents in
100 m Race for Men and Women, Partner Game and Parent & Child Fun Game.
The Director felicitated the winners of various sports events by giving away the medals. She addressed the students of the school highlighting the significance of games and sports in student’s life and affirmed that we should reverentially remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of an ever shining India. Ma’am also stressed on the respect towards grandparents that must be given due importance. The entire day celebration testified the students’ commitment and dedication towards their homeland.
