LET’S TALK PUBERTY- A SESSION FOR CLASS V GIRLS

"Embracing change leads to personal and professional development."

Puberty marks a significant transitional phase for both boys and girls, encompassing physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes. It's imperative to address the confusion and concerns that arise during this period. In alignment with this, an interactive session was conducted specifically for girl students of Class V, under the patronage of by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), Blue Bells Group of Schools. The session, led by Ms. Sapna Sinha, Content Developer, & Life Skills Facilitator, along with Ms. Prerna Karkhanis, Life Skills Facilitator & Counsellor, was organized  on February 26, 2024.

Through the screening of the School Cinema movie 'Let's Talk Puberty' and engaging discussions, the girls gained insight into the physical, emotional, hormonal, and social changes characteristic of puberty. They were briefed about Puberty that involves physical and emotional changes that can be both challenging and exciting. Having conversation with elders, family members and teachers helps to ease out the concerns and queries which they have during the onset of puberty. The session provided each one an open and safe space to discuss their experiences.

 Moreover, the girls were made aware of significance of maintaining a balanced diet, staying hydrated, getting sufficient rest, engaging in outdoor activities, and upholding cleanliness and hygiene for overall well-being was also emphasized. Practical advice was provided on self-care during this phase to help the students navigate the changes effectively. They were encouraged to express their concerns, doubts, and emotions openly, fostering a sense of empowerment.

To conclude the session, Ms. Sapna and Ms. Prerna underscored the importance of healthy eating habits and regular exercise. They urged the students to seek further support and guidance from their mothers, nurses, doctors, teachers, counselors, and Wing In-charge regarding this crucial phase of their development.

VIRTUAL CONNECT – Understanding SDG 12

Bluebells Model School connected for an interaction with DPS, Lava Nagpur, Choithram International School, Indore and B.D Memorial Jr School, Kolkata on 23rd February, 2023. Thirty students from Grade VII and VIII participated from our school. The exchange of ideas was regarding SDG 12 which is about ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns, which is key to sustain the livelihoods of current and future generations. After a brief introduction of the students from both the schools, a walkthrough video was exchanged by all the participating schools.

The session aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable consumption and production practices and to inspire action towards achieving this goal. All the students presented the initiatives taken by them in their school and local areas. The session was concluded with a call to action, urging participants to integrate sustainable principles into their daily lives and advocating change within their communities and organizations. As we continue our journey towards a more sustainable future, it is essential to build on the momentum generated by this session and work collaboratively to implement concrete solutions at the local, national, and global levels.

Basant Panchami Celebration: A Melody of Wisdom, Culture, and Unity

Today the school premises was immersed in a vibrant celebration of Saraswati Puja on the occasion of Basant Panchami. The heart of the celebration was the Saraswati Vandana, a soulful prayer dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and the arts. The entire school echoed with the melodious chants, creating an aura of reverence and devotion. The sacred puja ceremony was conducted by Mr. Sashi Tiwari, who led the students and staff in seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Ms. Tanuja Sharma took the stage to elucidate the significance of Basant Panchami. She eloquently explained the cultural and traditional importance of this auspicious day, emphasizing how it marks the arrival of spring and the celebration of new beginnings. Her insightful presentation deepened the understanding of the cultural roots embedded in Saraswati Puja. The celebration reached its crescendo with a musical finale. Ms. Anshu Jha and the school choir graced the occasion with two soul-stirring bhajans. The melodic tunes and uplifting lyrics filled the air, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The entire school joined in, fostering a sense of unity and joy. The Basant Panchami celebration was a harmonious blend of spirituality, knowledge, and cultural significance. The event not only allowed us to pay homage to Goddess Saraswati but also provided a platform for fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the arts and education. As the day concluded with the resonating bhajans, it left everyone with a feeling of gratitude and inspiration, promising a year filled with enlightenment and success.

DISTRESS TO DE-STRESS: HANDLING EXAMINATION STRESS

Throughout exams, maintaining a tranquil mental state is crucial for students, allowing them to address any distressing emotions they may experience. To support students in managing their emotions and addressing concerns, the Health & Wellness Resource Centre team, led by Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, developed an interactive module specifically designed to gear with the Examination Stress. The Life Skills facilitators conducted the module for the students of Classes VI to VIII, IX and XI in the month of January 2024.

The session included indicators and symptoms of stress. Students were guided on how each one can recognize and address automatic negative thoughts. Importance of an effective time management plan through prioritization and crafting a SMART timetable was shared. Strategies for boosting productivity, recognizing and integrating diverse learning approaches were liked by students.

To improve the concentration span, a few concentration exercises were conducted which were appreciated by the students. These exercises were followed by a short progressive muscular relaxation and guided imagery.  The importance of a healthy lifestyle was talked about which emphasized on balanced diet, regular exercise, and good sleeping habits.

Throughout the session the students felt connected, could express their concerns effectively and got adequate solutions in order to work positively for the forthcoming exam.

The session concluded on a positive note where it was shared with the students that they can connect individually with the Resource Center Team as well as the Life Skills facilitators for any further support.

HAWAN CEREMONY

Dearest God, guide me towards hope, faith, and trust. Lead me on the path of eternal truth, filling my heart, mind, life, and world with everlasting peace and tranquility.

A Hawan ceremony was organized for the students of grades X and XII, who are preparing for the upcoming CBSE board examinations in 2024. The ceremony was conducted with a divine fervour and spiritual essence, seeking blessings from the Almighty for the students' outstanding performance.

Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director of the Blue Bells Group of Schools, Ms. Alka Singh, Principal along with dedicated teachers joined the students in the hawan. Director Ma’am extended her best wishes to all the students, not only for their upcoming exams but also for a prosperous and fulfilling life ahead.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prasad, symbolizing the divine blessings received during this spiritually enriching event.

BBMS’ Innovation Triumph: IntelliPack Recognized Nationally

At Blue Bells Model School, we instill a passion for innovation and excellence, fostering a learning environment where students thrive and shine. The school is thrilled to share the recent success of Rupsha Ghosh, a bright student from class VIII B. Her groundbreaking project, "IntelliPack-Your Smart Sidekick for School," garnered attention at the esteemed Pariksha Pe Charcha event, where it was showcased to the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji.

Before addressing Pariksha Pe Charcha, Prime Minister Modi explored an exhibition at Bharat Mandapam, where Rupsha's project was displayed. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) selected her project for the exhibition. CBSE officials, including Joseph Emmanuel (Director Academics), Dr. Biswajit Saha (Director, Training & Skill Education), Sh. Al Hilal Ahmed (Joint Secretary - Academics), Sh. R.P. Singh (Joint Secretary - Skill Education), and Sh. Satish Kumar (Deputy Secretary - Skill Education), lauded the students' innovative efforts and offered valuable guidance for their presentation.

Athletasia 2024--Annual Sports Meet

Annual Sports Meet Showcases Outstanding Talent and Parental Involvement

In a spectacular display of athleticism and camaraderie, the Annual Sports Meet at Blue Bells Model School on 25^th January 2024 unfolded with great fervour and enthusiasm. Led by Sports Captain Reet Verma, the torch ceremony symbolized unity and peace, setting the stage for a day filled with spirited competitions. National and State winners, proud standard-bearers of their achievements, participated in the torch ceremony, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere. The Director of the school officially declared the event open, marking the beginning of a day where students showcased their passion in events such as the 100m and 200m Race, Balloon Relay, and the captivating Burst the Balloon Race.

One of the highlights of the event was the unique participation of parents in Athletasia, contributing to the strong Parent Connect ethos of the institution. The Kangaroo Race for Men and the Women's Balloon Burst Race witnessed enthusiastic parental involvement, underscoring the holistic engagement fostered by the school.

The ace winners received accolades and cash prizes, with Sanvi Aneja (IX), Harshit Sharma (IX), and Ahaana Gulati (V) receiving 21000/- each for their excellence in Badminton, NCC, and Chess, respectively. Recognizing merit, Divyanshi (VIII) in Badminton and Arya Ojha (IX) in NCC were also honoured with cash prizes of 11000/- and 5100/-, respectively. The prestigious title of Champion House was awarded to Indira Gandhi House , and the Director congratulated the winners, emphasizing the significance of sports in a student's life. The day's festivities were a testament to the students' unwavering commitment and dedication to their alma mater.

Career Awareness Session

In pursuit of guiding students towards a successful and fulfilling future, Blue Bells Model School organized a career awareness session on 20^th January 2024 for the students and parents of grade X emphasizing the crucial aspect of stream selection and the subsequent career path. The session, conducted by the dynamic Mr Abhishek Gupta, alum of the school and Founder of High School Moms, largest Parent and student Community and a team of experienced mentors, aimed to enlighten students about the diverse opportunities available and help them make informed decisions about their academic journey.

Mr Abhishek Gupta shared valuable insights into various career options and the importance of aligning one's passion with their chosen field of study. The mentors, with their wealth of experience, provided personalized guidance to students, addressing queries and concerns related to stream selection. This interactive approach fostered a sense of clarity and confidence among the students, enabling them to make well-informed decisions about their academic and professional pursuits.

Blue Bells Model School's commitment to holistic education was evident, as students left the session not only with a better understanding of their academic options but also with a newfound enthusiasm to embark on their educational journey with purpose and determination.

75th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

As we celebrate the Republic Day, let's remember the true heroes of our nation who sacrificed their lives to give us freedom. Let's promise to uphold the values of our constitution and work towards the progress and unity of our nation.

Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, commemorated the 75th Republic Day to honour the guiding principles of our constitution and contribute towards the development of our great nation on January 25, 2024. The distinguished Guests of the ceremony were Major General Yash Mor Sena Medal, Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati, Director, Blue Bells Group of Schools and Ms. Anshuka Aneja, Deputy Director, IT, BBGS.

The day’s proceedings commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Saroj Suman Gulati and Major General Yash Mor Sena Medal. As the tricolour fluttered high in the sky, each one took the pledge to take their country to its destination of becoming the greatest nation. March Past by NCC cadets lent a splendid sight and the distinguished Guest along with the Director Madam took the salute. It was followed by the spectacular presentation of the band. The students exhibited the mind-blowing coordination and rhythmic hand - body movements in the band.

Ms. Alka Singh, Principal gave formal welcome to the dignitaries and expressed that the Blue Bellians have been crafting soldiers since the inception of the school. Director Madam in her address stated that we should protect our motherland wholeheartedly and promise to contribute and preserve our precious heritage and culture.  Major General Yash Mor Sena Medal in his powerful address added that it is our national anthem that binds us all. He urged the students to work in unison for the progress of the nation as in the reigns of our nation's progress, students are the vibrant threads weaving the fabric of a promising future. It is upon their shoulders that the mantle of responsibility rests, and it is in their hands that the destiny of our great nation lies.

The spirit of patriotism was kept alive through a scintillating cultural programme which rekindled the feelings of love and emotional bondage with the motherland in the august gathering. The audience was spellbound witnessing the dance presentation of the talented Blue Bellians reflecting unity & diversity of our country.

Republic Day serves as a poignant reminder of our collective commitment to democracy, unity, and progress, inspiring us to strive for a harmonious and inclusive future for our nation.

VISIT TO 9th INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL (IISF)

Science expos offer a fantastic avenue for students to explore their scientific acumen, unleash their creativity, and gain insights into ground-breaking ideas and discoveries in the realm of science.

 The India International Science Festival (IISF) is a collaborative endeavour of Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of Space and Department of Atomic Energy in partnership with Vigyan Bharati- a science movement spearheaded by scientists of the nation with swadeshi spirit. IISF's primary objective to commemorate the world of science, making it accessible to all.

 Forty-two students from Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram visited the 9th India International Science Festival 2023 held at DBT-THSTI-RCB Campus, Faridabad, Haryana, on 20^th January 2024. The theme of this edition of IISF was 'Science and Technology Public Outreach in Amrit Kaal'.  The exhibition showcased technologies from various Indian research and development institutions, engaging students, scientists, educators, policymakers, and the public. Additionally, it highlighted initiatives like Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India, Make in India, and more. This event provided a unique opportunity for the learners to engage with scientists, gaining insights into complex scientific concepts.  The participation in the event by Blue-Bellians proved to be a catalytic force driving innovation and fostering the growth of technology in India, thereby contributing to the nation's position as a global technology hub.
